Blue Stealthberry and Astrid crept along quietly behind a row of impeccably manicured hedges outside the mansion that was their target. They were much more stealthy than usual, not clunking along in their armor, their weapons not clanking against their sides as they walked. This was thanks to one fact. They were not wearing it. No, instead they had chosen to take stealth as their utmost priority and so they had to wear the right clothes for the job. Blue peaked around the edge of the hedge before turning around to look at Astrid, the little pink tongue sewn to the inside of their hood flopping against their headband. They wore a handmade onesie decorated to look like a blue wolf with white a belly, their favorite animal. The buttons were mostly open, allowing easy access to their torso for putting things in and pulling things out. The sleeves and pant legs were incredibly baggy and loose. It was the perfect outfit for a stealth mission, in the ooze's (un)professional opinion. Astrid wore a similar outfit, ready for a stealth mission. "I don't see any guards. Let's move out." they whispered while also making nonsensical hand signals. They'd heard spies and thieves use hand signals to communicate silently and wanted to try them too, though they hadn't actually learned any. Blue Raspberry quietly approached the door of the mansion and tried to turn the knob. It was locked. They smiled smugly and placed their hand to the keyhole. They'd practiced just for this! A bit of goo streamed from their hand and into the lock. After a moment, clicking could be heard from the lock along with some sloshing noises, and the door opened. They gave a big smile and thumbs up to their partner in crime before slipping into the house, quietly shutting the door again once they were both inside. Quest Name: Stolen Goods Chapter: One Description: There are thousands of poor families across the nation that will be spending the Winters Crown fighting to stay alive. We need you to help us by stealing goods from a rich noble. A local storehouse has been identified with very minimal guards. The job is to obtain these goods anyway you can. You can be sneaky and silently remove the goods or go in blazing, storming the place.
Requirements: - Requires exactly two people (you and one other, can be doing opposing quest) ) - You must make at least 5 post to complete the mission with each post being at least 200 words - Once you complete this mission you gain access to chapter two. (which needs to be a separate topic) Lock Pick

When Zarius told Astrid about a storehouse without many guards and then clarified that the storehouse is the basement of an affluent family in Sol City, she had flashbacks to the time the tiefling's tips led her to breaking and entering in a different affluent noble's home. That trip resulted in a lot of damage, something she hopes to avoid this time. They're just here to sneak in, steal anything of value, and hold the items to be sold off so the money can be given to folks who aren't well off during the holidays. Normally, Astrid would question the need to steal from people, but being a bit of a street urchin and having few good experiences with the rich and affluent, she's pretty willing to steal from people she perceives to not be generous. With Blue Raspberry at her side, the two of them found the target house and managed to get over the wall surrounding the estate. It's a ritsy place, and being in a nicer district of town, isn't as well guarded. Guards patrol the streets around the estates in the area, but less so within the estate itself. Plus, according to Zarius' intel, the family should be out for the evening. The dynamic blue-o mostly needs to worry about any of the staff who might be present in the manor. And by blue-o, that's a bit literal in this case, as both of them decided their clinky armor isn't the best for being stealthy. Instead, both Astrid and Blue Raspberry wear extremely soft and comfortable animal onesies made by their favorite tiefling Cantio. While Blue's is a blue wolf, Astrid's is a little blue owl with arms shaped like wings. Usually, one might wear this around the house or to bed even. Tonight, they are stealth uniforms. They don't stand out at all. It's odd to not wear armor or gloves or anything, and Astrid feels kind of naked without her hammers. Luckily, the ooze makes a great mobile storage unit, so she's stashed both of them inside his infinite insides in case she needs them. Blue Raspberry works a bit of ooze magic and the door clicks open. That was easy enough. Stepping inside the back door, Astrid looks around. They're in a furnace room that's quite hot. Warm red light spills from a grate on a large metal furnace with pipes that run throughout the house to keep it warmer on this winter night. These kinds of things really only appear in the richest homes in the biggest cities. Astrid's never seen something like this up close. Then again, she's never really been in another rich person's house. Bellighul's manor certainly has hearths scattered throughout the rooms. What's the layout of a place like this? Where do they start?

Blue Raspberry hummed a tune that they thought was fitting for a story about a stealthy secret agent sneaking into a base filled with hidden enemies as they walked around the furnace room. They hugged the walls, mimicking what they'd heard about thieves. They needed to avoid traps! They completely forgot this was actually just someone's home and there weren't any traps in here, but they were just so excited.
As they moved along the walls, they came up to a metal shelving unit with various things stored on it. Things needed in a home, but not very often, left stored out of the way in the furnace room for those occasions when they were needed. A few old knick-knacks left and forgotten here. Some spare shovels and extra crates filled with coal for tending the furnace. Nothing remarkable or quite worth the effort of stealing. For anyone that didn't have an infinite stomach to carry it all in, that is. Blue Raspberry didn't consider how much this junk was worth, they were just excited to begin pilfering anything they could.
Blue Raspberry went to town, shoving everything they could into their exposed torso and storing it away. Astrid stopped them from stealing most of the coal since they needed it to keep their home warm. She only letting them swallow a few pieces as a treat, but they cleared the shelves of the random junk happily.

They've barely made it two feet into the house and already Blue Raspberry has found a few snacks. "Aht, no, Blue!" she hisses in a whisper. "Don't take alla their stuff fer heatin' their home. We're here ta rob 'em blind, not rob 'em cold!" When the ooze reluctantly relents, beginning to pull a few things back out, she sighs. "Alright, ya can keep a few lumps of coal as a treat." This seems to boost Blue's mood a bit more, which at least feels nice. "Careful, though. Don't wanna get coal dust all over yer outfit."
With that, Astrid creeps up a set of two steps toward the door that leads to the rest of the house. She presses her ear against the door, listening out for movement, before she cautiously opens the door and peeks out. The hall this door is connected to extends in either direction. It's not particularly well-decorated and seems like something that's more for use by the staff than the family. They might run the biggest risk of encountering someone in these halls. Keep it quiet.
Astrid puts her finger to her lips and creeps out into the hall with cautious steps. There's some clanking of pots from a nearby room, and she comes across a pair of double doors with warm light seeping through the cracks. A few voices chit-chat inside, mentioning the Lord and Lady expecting dessert when they return from their dinner theater. That must be the kitchen. Best to avoid that room. Creeping past it, she reaches another set of double doors and listens out.
At this point, she remembers they could use some help from Melodia, so she calls her forth and motions for her to be quiet. Then she whispers, "Can ya help us scout ahead? We're lookin' fer valuable stuff and don't wanna run into no one." Melodia nods and asks them to be careful then disappears through the doors. After a moment, she returns to give the all-clear then starts moving ahead to find what they're looking for.
Through the double doors in this hall is another hall but this one is much more well-decorated with side tables topped with vases, a brilliant rug running up the hall, and various paintings of landscapes. To the left is a set of doors, currently open, which look into a dining room attached to the kitchen. Silverware and candelabras adorn the table. That might be a good place to start as long as they're quick.

They waited patiently while Melodia scouted ahead for them, making sure there was no one to catch them in the next room. They needed to avoid combat, especially because neither of them had their usual armor on. They were far more vulnerable than usual. Astrid also didn't have her weapons, but Blue Raspberry was ready to spit them out for her. Though they actually didn't need to spit out the one that could magically return to her hand. They'd practiced a little before going on this mission and Astrid had been able to call the hammer to her even from inside the ooze's stomach, making it fly out of their torso and into her hand. It felt a bit weird for Blue Raspberry though, so they'd prefer she didn't have to do that. Blue also had all her other equipment she usually carried around or had Charles carry for her, including her backpack full of different tools and a bottle of dark purple liquid that was sealed tightly so the ooze wouldn't accidentally drink it while it was inside them.
When Melodia came back and informed them of the rooms ahead, Blue Thiefberry was eager to steal. They crept excitedly into the room and looked around at all the valuables. They quietly took an ornate glass vase off of a fancy little side table and shoved it into their stomach as they walked forward. Then they picked up the entire little table and ate that too.
This room was loaded, but a bit dangerous. They could hear movement from the door to the kitchen. But all that silverware and decorations looked so tasty- uh, valuable! It looked valuable! It would probably get a lot of money for helping those people that were in need this Winter's Crown. Helping people was why they were doing this, not just to get to eat a bunch of valuable stuff! They'd need to rob this room quickly and quietly to avoid being detected. They needed Astrid's help with eating all this stuff.
The ooze pulled an empty burlap sack that they'd just eaten in the furnace room out of their torso and handed it to Astrid.
"Let's both start grabbing stuff at the same time. It'll be quicker. When we've got everything, just bring me back the sack and I'll eat it for you, okay?" they whispered their plan to Astrid, crouching down to have their face closer to her ear.

While this seems like a perfect time to use the Potion of Shadows, Astrid decides they should save that for an emergency. Then again, if they get caught, they'll just be running away as fast as they can. Do they risk this now? Yes. Just be very quiet. She takes the sack from Blue Thiefberry and creeps into the room as quietly as she can. Luckily, this is the ground floor with a solid foundation that doesn't creak. With careful steps and careful collecting, Astrid skirts around the room collecting things as quietly as she possibly can.
The silverware is the easiest thing to collect. There are some beautiful plates made of metal, some of painted ceramic, and some that have gold filigree that are very nice to look at. They must be of some value. Anything that can be traded off, melted down, or sold goes into her sack. Anything she thinks would break in a sack, she sets aside for Blue to grab so they can store it safely within their floating inner space. Hopefully, no one exits the kitchen and discovers the thievery.
Finally, they finish up and sneak out of the room again. Astrid offers the sack to Blue and creeps out down the hall again. It feels weird to be so sneaky and honestly to be stealing from someone who's not rumored to be a cultist, just rich people whose wealth could be used to feed people. That's the biggest motivator for her. She's been cold and hungry on Winter's Crown, and she doesn't want that for other kids or families.
There's plenty more to steal in the hall. The paintings are probably valuable - at least the landscapes. Her head tilts curiously when they pass one of a family. The mother is a blue-toned tiefling with curly black hair, the father is a human man, and the son is a red-toned tiefling. There's something about that she can't quite put her finger on. The son doesn't look particularly happy. In fact, none of the family really do. She supposes that not every family is a happy one, even if they've got all the money in the world.

While Astrid grabbed all of the silverware and metal plates that could hold up shoved inside a sack, Blue went about grabbing the more fragile things from around the room. A large cabinet of fine china and decorative blown-glass ornaments particularly catches their attention. They tried to open the cabinet, but it was locked. Thankfully, it was easy enough for them to use the same trick they had used on the back door outside on this little lock on the cabinet.
They began to pull the items from the shelves and slip them into their torso, but there were so many and they were delicate, needing to be handled with care. They wanted to do this more quickly and get out of here. The sides of their onesie peeled back as a second pair of arms pushed the unbuttoned opening wider as they emerged and began to help carefully grab the items. They extra pair of hands made clearing the cabinet go much faster. It was unfortunate that the cabinet was too large and heavy. Blue Raspberry couldn't eat the cabinet itself, but that was alright. All the treasure that had been inside it was quite satisfying. They grabbed the last few objects they could as they left to regroup with Astrid in the hallway, slipping another vase and some candles in glass jars off the table.
In the hall, they just took the entire sack that Astrid had filled and inserted the entire thing into their stomach, handling it with all four arms to try and have the metal within clink as little as possible so as not to alert anyone nearby. With everything packed away, they patted their stomach with a proud smile on their face.
Stealing was so fun! With their abilities, why hadn't they tried it sooner? Blue Raspberry walked along behind Astrid, taking paintings off the wall and swallowing them, the easily impressionable ooze learning what was probably not a very good lesson from this whole experience.

Something suddenly strikes Astrid as problematic: they're stealing from the area of the house where people are definitely present. If they come out of the kitchen, they'll see everything's been stolen and alert the guard! "Uhhhh, Blue...?" she says quietly, looking back only to see the ooze shoving a painting into their gullet. It takes her a second to process, watching the family portrait slowly slide into the ooze's infinitum.
Astrid gets to the point quickly, keeping her voice quiet. "We should probably go faster. They'll figure out somethin's wrong if they come outta the kitchen!" With that, Astrid starts grabbing anything that's easy to snatch and tossing it back toward the ooze so their extra arms can catch it and pulls it into their blue belly. They make quick work of the hall and peek into another set of double doors into what appears to be a sitting room with hunting trophies. Those things could be valuable too. They sneak in and start removing trophies, weapons, and anything else that isn't bolted down and looks valuable. There's a very regal portrait hanging over the unlit hearth.
While they're robbing the trophy room, Melodia sinks in from the ceiling and looks at the work they've made of the room. "You're making quick work," she says with a nod. A puzzled expression crosses the ghostly woman's face. "But... Astrid, couldn't it be quicker with your... whatever that duplication magic is?"
Astrid pauses what she's doing then slaps her forehead. "Duh! I dunno why I didn't think of that meself." Feeling silly, Astrid snaps her fingers and another perfect, physical copy of her in her silly owl onesie appears. "There we go! Four arms are better than two."
"I think Blue's got that idea down perfectly," second Astrid jokes with a grin.
Together, the lot of them clear the room quickly. The two Astrids are surprisingly well coordinated.
"So, ya find anythin' good upstairs, Melodia?" one of the Astrids asks as they finalize packing the room up.
"Actually, that's why I returned. I think there's something you'll find particularly interesting..." Melodia says almost hesitantly. "I'll show you, but I feel the magic keeping me here fading. Do you mind...?"
"'Course not!" Rubbing their hands together, both Astrids work their magic at the same time to extend Melodia's stay with them.
Melodia's form flickers then she smiles, feeling the magic holding her strongly once again. "Excellent, we'll exit this room, go to the left toward the foyer, then up the stairs. The wing directly upstairs from this side of the house is the guest wing. There are a few things there, but nothing I think you'd find worth much of your time. The family suites are on the opposite side. The Lady's suite has what I think you'll find surprising..."
Something about Melodia seems to be hesitant to mention, but adults often act this way, and Astrid thinks nothing of it. Instead, the Astrids look at Blue Raspberry. "How ya holdin' up over there?" they ask in tandem.

Blue Raspberry gave two thumbs up (both left handed) in reply to Astrid. They turned around just in time for Astrid to see a pair of mounted antlers vanishing into their chest while a bottled ship on a display stand sank into their stomach. Blue Raspberry saw two Astrid standing there along with Melodia. They looked back and forth between the two Astrids in confusion.
"Astrid, there's two of you!" They whisper-yelled to the twin Astrids, their hands cupped to direct the sound toward them and not toward the other rooms with people in them.
Melodia put a hand to her face and let out an exasperated sigh. "It's a spell, one of them is just a replicant." she explained slowly.
"Ohh, that's new. When did you learn to do that?" Blue Raspberry asked, the tension leaving them. They went back to stealing, picking up a couple books from a shelf. One with the title Fifty Shades of Decay on the cover, the other with the title The Slime of Their Lives. The illiterate ooze couldn't read a word of the title, but they just inserted the book into their torso anyways. They began to empty the shelf, all four arms grabbing books and shoving them into their bottomless stomach.
"Those are also new." Melodia replied casually, pointing to the second pair of arms on Blue Raspberry as they burgled more books.
"Haha! This isn't even my final form..." Blue Raspberry replied in a faux deep voice with a smug smile, turning to Melodia with both pairs of arms crossed in front of them. They reached a hand behind them and undid the buttons holding up their onesie's butt flap. A tail of blue ooze emerged from behind them and also began to grab books.

Neither Astrid nor Melodia expected the butt flap, and both of their innate reactions are to shy away with a slightly cringed expression. But Blue Raspberry, being an ooze, doesn't have buttcheeks. They are simply a blue goo beneath the blue wolf felt. It's a relief to see a tail- or... an extra arm? It's hard to tell. -coming out of the back of the onesie.
One of the Astrids points at them. "You're real close ta bein' an octopus!" she laughs. "Just a few more gooey tentacles and ya've got it!"
"Oh, I bet Blue could turn themself into a real octopus!" the other one giggles, stuffing the last of the valuables into a bag and carrying it over to the ooze.
Melodia shushes them in a sing-song voice. "Giiirrrrls... Or... Girl..?" The ghostly woman looks a bit puzzled at how to refer to Twostrid. "Don't forget to keep it down. I know you can be excitable, but this is meant to be a quiet mission."
"Aye, aye, I got it," they say in tandem before giggling again. "Let's get goin' upstairs!"
With that, they creep toward the door while Melodia phases through and peeks out. Once the "all clear" signal is given, they creep out into the foyer and up the stairs, quietly following Melodia's guidance. Crossing to the wing with the family suites, they pass several more portraits in the hall. The paintings vary in age and style, and most of them are single-bust paintings, likely of family members of generations past. Astrid wonders if this kind of thing is common for families to have and decides she's going to get a fancy portrait of her strange family made at some point. If fancy rich people can hang family portraits over the fireplace, so can she!
Melodia disappears through a door, and one of the Astrids peeks the door open. Inside is the main room of a small suite. There's a sitting area near the hearth, a corner with a desk near the window, a reading nook, a corner with a few instruments and music stands, and a door that leads to another room. It's well-decorated and cozy inside as both Astrids scuttle in with Blue Raspberry behind hers.
"Okay, what'd you wanna show me?" Astrid asks, looking at Melodia.
"This way," Melodia says, heading towards the closed door. One Astrid follows and the other looks back at Blue Raspberry, excited for more thieving!
After a couple of minutes, Astrid's voice can be heard exclaiming from the other room. "Whoa!!"

"Yeah, I probably could, but it'd be easier if I ate one first." Blue Raspberry replied a little sheepishly. They honestly didn't even know what an octopus was, but it sounded like they might be able to turn into one from what they were saying. Maybe they could go on a trip to find one for the ooze to eat some time.
The ooze consumed the last few books along with a fancy bookend and a little decorative globe from the shelves. With all their extra limbs, they'd made quick work of the bookshelf. They took the bag from the Astrid that brought it over to them and returned it again after emptying it into themself.
They followed Melodia and the Astriduo upstairs and through the halls, casually grabbing a few more things as they went with their, quite literally, sticky fingers. They were careful that their tail didn't knock anything over behind them. They needed to be super sneaky! They were having so much fun pilfering, this place was like a feast- a, um, a, a treasure trove! Yes, it was a treasure trove! They were doing great so far, the ooze was perfectly fulfilling their role as the loot bag, and proudly.
They passed through several suites, Blue grabbing more valuable along the way with ease, until they entered the room Melodia was guiding them to. Blue Raspberry returned Astrid, or maybe Twostrid, they weren't sure which was which since they looked exactly the same and they hadn't been watching when she had created the replicant, but they returned the mischievous look and went to town stealing everything that they could.
The ooze went over and ingested instruments one after the other while Whicheverstrid filled a sack with other valuables from around the room. They looked up from the violin sinking into their abdomen as they heard Theotherstrid from the other room's surprise and went over, peeking their head into the door.
"What's up? Something wrong?" they asked quietly, looking around for Surprisedstrid.

Also looking surprised, the Pilferstrid looks at Blue Raspberry then scrambles with them to see what's up. In the other room, Surpristrid holds a small, framed canvas in her hands with Melodia floating beside her. When the other two enter, she turns the canvas around to show a somewhat messy, gestural painting. There are some elements of refinement but nothing matching the hours of work put into the portraits they've come across so far. The darker foreground seems to be shapes and planes representing people - a crowd. In the background, but well-lit and the focus of the photo, nearly dead center, is a red, masked tiefling in a long red coat in the midst of playing the violin.
"Looks like these folks are fans of Cantio!" Astrid exclaims. She turns the painting back around to admire it again. There's no doubt about it, this is definitely Cantio.
The other Astrid rushes over to get a closer look. "Whoa! We oughta take this an' show it ta him! Bet he'd love ta see it! This is awesome! Look at him!"
Canvastrid looks the painting over. "Oh, but... I'd feel kinda bad takin' this. They had it on an easel an' all. Must be important ta them..."
Pilferstrid looks around the room, and her head tilts when she notices a bust portrait of the same red tiefling boy from the family portrait they passed earlier. She walks over to it and looks at it a bit closer. This is definitely familiar. The golden eyes stand out the most, and the only way they would is if there were some... "Makeup!"
"Huh??" Canvastrid startles and looks over.
"It's Cantio as a kid! He don't have his makeup! Remember? From the time temple??" Pilferstrid snatches the painting off the wall and rushes back over to the others.
Astrid looks at the painting in her replicant's hands, and her face lights up. "Yer right! I thought that kid looked familiar!" Then something dawns on her, and her eyes stare into the distance. "Uh oh... If... If that's a portrait of Cantio... and there was a family portrait with him..."
Both Astrids look at each other. "This is Cantio's family's house!!"

Blue Raspberry was completely lost in the Astridsation happening in front of them. What were she talking about? This painting was of Astrid's new da? This was his parent's house? From their brief lessons on what families are and whose in them that they received from Astrid, that made this house's owners Astrid's... grate parents! But then, why were they robbing this place? Shouldn't they have just been allowed in here? This didn't make sense. Blue Raspberry stood there, trying to process what was going on and failing.
"So... wait... are we not supposed to be stealing from here?" Blue Raspberry asked sadly, their body droopy. They'd just stolen so much! Did they have to put it all back? Was this the wrong house? They were visibly put out by the idea. They'd been having a lot of fun stealing. They didn't want it to have been a mistake, or for nothing.
They had been enjoying stealing, but now that they knew this was Cantio's parents' house, they probably wouldn't be able to do that anymore. The ooze's morals were fluid, often questionable, but they tried to do what they were told was the right thing to do. It's true that is was usually a 12-year-old girl who also had morals that might be a bit questionable sometimes telling them what the right thing to do was, but still.
As Blue Raspberry pouted, they suddenly had an idea. "Wait, if this is Cantio's house, then some of the stuff here might be his, right? We should go eat it- I mean, get it for him!" they said excitedly. Maybe they could keep enjoying themself after all!

The Astrids look at the portrait and the sketched painting in Canvastrid's hands. It's clear they're both unsure of the situation now. From what they know of Cantio and what they saw in the time temple, they know that Cantio doesn't get along with his parents much. He doesn't talk about them much either. But why would they have this painting of him performing? In her contemplation, she barely notices Blue Raspberry take the painting and stuff it in their gullet.
"I... don't know," she says with some hesitation. It certainly feels strange to be here. This is a place she considered trying to come to with Cantio before, but with his history, she didn't push it much if at all. Still... It's a part of her new dad's history, and as someone without a lot of history of her own or ties to her ancestral history, part of her wants to be a part of it.
Then Blue Raspberry suggests they could go find some of Cantio's stuff! Both Astrids' faces light up. "Yeah!! I bet there's some stuff he left behind he wants! We could bring it home ta him! Good idea, Blue!" Twostrid does a quick sweep of the bedroom for anything Cantio might like and finds a nice comb that seems well-loved, shoves it into Blue Raspberry, and the lot of them scurry out with Melodia leading the way.
A ways down the hall, Melodia motions to a single door that leads into a bedroom. Peeking in Astrid glances about before scuttling through with Blue Raspberry. The room, while not a suite, is quite spacious with curtains drawn and a fine layer of dust on the floor save one single path wiped clean by a dress occasionally sweeping the floor just inside the door. The room is clean besides the layer of dust, both indications of the lack of presence. A made, four poster bed sits against the left wall. A small, neat pile of throw pillows demonstrate this room's lack of use, and center in all of it is a rather rotund stuffed ravenbear. A desk sits between the two floor to ceiling windows with drawn curtains on the wall opposite the door. On the right wall, a wardrobe stands, looking lonely against the wall. A curio cabinet in the corner houses a small violin on a stand.
Astrid stands just inside the door taking the room in. This was her dad's room. She sees similarities between his room at their home and this room in his old home. Things are arranged in a familiar way. Finally, Astrid steps in and starts cautiously exploring the room while Twostrid gives Blue Raspberry a devious look and starts looking around for valuables, though this room is mostly devoid of them on the surface.
Making her way over to the bed, Astrid's eyes land on the ravenbear stuffy. There's some hesitation before she reaches out and picks it up. It's so round, yet extremely squishable. The fur material is worn. It's clear this thing was well-loved. Astrid's never had a stuffy like this before. It's not something she ever even thought about, but now that she's holding one, she sees the appeal. A small smile pulls at the corner of her mouth, and she tucks the ravenbear under her arm and looks around.
Twostrid beelines for the curio cabinet and looks at the violin inside. "Whoa...! I bet this was Cantio's first violin!" she exclaims, tapping against the glass. "Look at it, it's tiny! Oh, can ya just imagine little baby Cantio playin' this??" Like a true fangirl, she lets out a tiny squeal. "Let's nab it!" And with that, she opens the cabinet and scoops up the instrument with more care than she appears to take.
Onestrid peruses the rest of the room, finally coming over to the desk. The surface is clear except the layer of dust. She drags her fingers across the surface, feeling the grooves from the years of use. When she notices the drawers, curiosity gets the best of her and she peeks inside. To her surprise, it isn't empty. There's a couple of moleskin books with a few loose papers. Picking them up, she flips through them. The inside cover of each has the name Melos written inside. Oh, right... A name Cantio left behind.
Turning the pages carefully, she finds that this is a sketchbook full of images of costume designs. Huh! She never knew Cantio could draw! Maybe she'll ask for his help designing the helmet she's supposed to be making for Veliky. Astrid collects these for herself and closes the drawers.
"What'd ya find?" Twostrid asks, peeking her head into the wardrobe for anything interesting.
"Some of da's sketchbooks!"
"He can draw?"
"Aye, seems like it!! Costumes, too," Onestrid says.
"We should make him one of 'em! As a surprise!!" Twostrid exclaims, pulling her head out of the wardrobe. Inside, there's plenty of clothes that are quite nice but would serve someone else better than simply rotting in here.
Astrid looks to her best friend the wolf ooze. "Blue, paper'll be alright in yer gullet right? If yer not sure, I'll just keep these in me pack."

Blue Raspberry followed the Pairstrid through the halls toward Cantio's room. They really wanted to nab more stuff from the hallways, but now they were only supposed to be getting Cantio's old stuff for him, not just robbing the house. Ah, but all these little end tables with all their fancy decorations were so tantalizing! If the ooze could drool, they would have. It looked so tasty, but they had to control themself! Well, Astrid wouldn't notice if they ate one thing, right? They just needed to not be suspicious. They looked at Astrid as they walked and very inconspicuously grabbed a big, fancy marble bust off of a display stand and shoved it into their torso. It took all four arms to lift it, it was pretty heavy, but they managed to do so fairly quietly. They continued walking, oblivious to Melodia's exasperated sigh and her placing a hand on her face. They definitely nailed that.
The ooze scurried into the room at the back of the group and closed the door behind them quietly with their tail as they looked around, returning Twostrid's devious look before looking around for anything they could find that might be a nice gift for their friend's da. They weren't nearly as familiar with the man as Astrid was, but they hoped they could still give him something nice. While Astrid found items of sentimental value to Cantio, Blue ate the throw pillows off the bed, what looked like a framed poster for a theater play off the wall, and some dusty knick-knacks off a shelf. They went over to Astrid and Alsostrid when they heard one or the other of them call out.
"Oh, yeah! Paper is fine. I've got lots of paper things in here already, no problem. I can carry those too, if you want. I won't digest any of this stuff, I promise." they replied proudly, pointing to the stuffed animal and the violin and the wardrobe full of clothing and the sketchbooks.
As Blue Raspberry waited for them to hand them the things, all four of them suddenly heard some commotion from below. It seemed their activities downstairs had finally been discovered. Shouting and footsteps echoed down the hallways throughout the mansion as the guards began their frantic search for whoever had broken in and stolen so many of their employer's belongings.
"Our cover's blown!" Blue Raspberry said in an imitation of a deep voice as they carefully but hastily grabbed the items the Astrids had found and stored them away before they started to scarf down all of the clothing in the wardrobe, their extra arms helping to speed up the process. In hardly any time at all, the wardrobe was empty.
