River
Gender: FemaleAge: 25
Race: Half-Elf
Nationality: Unknown (she was told Moonglade) but she grew up traveling all over.
Appearance: River is 5’8”, lean, with green hair. Unlike many bards, River downplays her looks, skilled at blending into the shadows. Her usual attire is dark colored pants, with a blouse, vest and cloak usually in earthy colors such as green, brown, and sage. She likes to blend in when she's not playing music. And when she is, she lets the music speak for her.
River is young, yet already an adept muse, usually amiable, optimistic and cheerful, using her songs to bring good mojo to all who meet her. However, she is elusive about her own past and keeps her demons to herself.
Unlike other people, River doesn’t have a clan with centuries of shared stories and memories to give her a connection to something greater than herself. Instead, she grew up with a group of misfits who had banded together to form their own community. She has no clue who her real family was, just the obvious, that she's a half-breed; human and elf. Her found family, The Marauding Minstrels, were a traveling minstrel troupe, providing entertainment wherever they went. The troupe took in orphans, street urchins, and other castoffs, giving them a home and skills for survival. People came and went through the years, but everyone remained part of the family. In the troupe, if you weren’t actually blood kin, everyone was either your ‘cousin’, your ‘Uncle’, or your ‘Auntie’. River not only learned the ways of a muse, she also learned how to blend into the background, appear to be something that she wasn't, and defend herself if needed. River parted ways with her adopted family a few years back, but still keeps in touch.
Recently, River has been developing an interest in ancient relics and the mysteries of the arcane. It has her traveling across the world in search of knowledge. As she travels, she has been finding herself adept at many new skills. Intrigued, she yearns to learn more.
