What time is it? Shaa thought to himself. It had been a long time or at least it felt that way. Time was hard to measure when you had a burlap sack over your head. The binding spell holding him down was like nothing he had ever encountered before. The more he struggled against it, the tighter the grip became. They wanted something from him so this wasn’t forever. He just hated the waiting.
Good evening oh walker of the unending path. Came a voice from somewhere inside the room. He may have had a sack on his head but he could still sense people in the room. There was the voice, him, two other people in chairs beside him and…. someone else. That’s Mr. Unending path to you buddy. You let me out of this chair or I promise, I’ll make you regret it. I’ll hit you so hard your mama will feel it. Shaa struggled futility against the invisible bonds.
Please please, calm down. You are our honored guests. Our benefactor will be with us shortly and all will be explained. You three were chosen for a very special reason. You all have first hand experience with our quarry. The voice pulls the bag off of Shaa’s head. It takes a moment for Shaa’s eyes to adjust to the light of the room. As he does, a tall man is taking similar bags off the heads of two others in the room, similarly bound to chairs. It takes him a moment, but Shaa recognizes the two as Ulrich and Canito. Hey! Just what is going on around here?
Without a word, the man exits the room. He returns a moment later with an older frail gentleman in his arms. Place me on the couch Miles. Says the frail man. Miles walks to the other side of the room where a large well stuffed couch was pushed up to the far wall. Miles placed the man gently on the couch. Good man, thank you. The man adjusted himself, facing the trio. Miles exits the room. Welcome to my home gentleman, we have much to discuss.

Oh, no.
Oh no no no no no no.
Not again!
It is with initial calmness that Cantio awakens; but the terror sets in the moment he realizes he’s not in a bed, nor sleeping on a desk— he’s inside of a burlap sack. The drowsiness departs quickly and wakefulness hits him like a club across the face. Panic flutters in his chest like a swarm of butterflies, eyelashes brushing against a burlap sack while he tries to turn his head to get his bearings. He narrows his eyes to peek through the small bits of light between the fibers, but he can only barely make out the blurred shadow of a man speaking to a… cow?
"That’s Mr. Unending Path to you buddy…"
No, wait, not a cow! Not a cow at all! That’s a Shaa!
“Shaa?” Cantio pipes up from wherever he is in the room. He feels disoriented by the lack of his vision and the anxiety settling firm in his stomach. His voice shakes with uncertainty. “What’s going on? Where are we?” his tail curls nervously around the leg of chair, head dipping when a shadow crosses over him and—
Cantio’s horns snag on the burlap sack while the man rips it off his head; his head jerks back as the sack rips on the edge of one horn… and then, fear flutters in his chest when the chair starts to tip back, and—- crash!. Cantio yelps when he hits the floor, still bound to the chair, and stares at the wall behind them, dazed.
He hears footsteps of the man’s departure and tries to look up. “What’s happening!? — Oh, Ulrich? Wait, why— what—” he chokes on his words, dropping his head back against the floor quickly with a thunk when the tall man comes walking back in. He quiets up, tail flicking nervously while he listens to the sound of someone sitting in a chair, and… a completely different voice speaks up.
“Excuse me, could we— oh, hello, please don’t—” Cantio stifles a surprised sound as the tall man appears in the corner of his vision, and pushes his chair back up. “Aha… thank you…” He blows a stray lock of hair from his eyes, blinking at the frail old man on the couch. “Um… is there any reason we couldn’t discuss something over tea, or… lunch, or something? Who are you? Why are we tied up?”
“Shh.”
Cantio winces as the tall man next to him encourages him to hush; he offers him a nervous side glance.

Ugh... How do I always find myself in situations like this?
His vision is dark and his breaths create steam. The source of the darkness in his vision is the sack that's been thrown over his head. He's long since resigned to his fate of being tied to a chair in some cold place. Although his surroundings feel unfamiliar to him, the voices of two people who are familiar to him start to sound out.
Is that Shaa that he hears right now? Giving somebody a piece of their mind— their captors, no doubt.
Then he hears a familiar nervous voice on his other side. He hears a crash as the chair they're in smashes onto the floor. He can almost feel the panic emanating from them. Ah, Cantio... How do we always find each other in situations like this? His chair is pushed back up from the sound of it.
Ulrich was the last to have the sack on his head taken. By this point, everyone in the room could see a bit of steam flowing out above the sack. It was quickly removed— a cloud of steam lingered around Ulrich's head, and as it slowly dissipated, his appearance was quite messy. His hair was ruffled, glasses were a bit crooked, the steam had fogged them up so that you couldn't even see his eyes behind the lenses, and he obviously looked like he had been sweating. All thanks to the cold temperature of the room they all found themselves in.
He spoke, his expression was calm, "Thank you... It was beginning to feel like a sauna in that thing." he says to the man that removed all of their sacks.
He clears his throat, steam still rising from the top of his head, "Hello gentlemen, long time no see." The lenses of his glasses were still fogged over.
He can see his two friends from the corners of his eyes past the frame of his glasses, but he can't see in front of him. All he can do is wait for the fog to disappear. At the moment all he can see are blurry silhouettes before them. So he just sits there, not even trying to move, not even speaking. He's just taking in the moment for right now.

Shaa looks at the frail man on the couch. He does seem familiar for some reason but he can’t quite place him. Despite his frail frame, the man is well poised and clean. There is a strength and determination behind the man’s eyes that told him that he was not someone to mess around with.
Shaa looks over at Canito and Ulrich. They both seemed ok if not a little disoriented like himself. And why was this stupid room so cold. Allowing some time for the “ guests” adjust, the man on the couch begins his explanation.
Greetings everyone. I trust that your trip was not too terribly uncomfortable.
Pretty hard to be uncomfortable when your unconscious. Shaa remarked coldly.
For sure, my good man, for sure. But I am afraid that it was absolutely necessary. I keep my location private at all times and this is the only way to maintain that privacy. For I, am Sir Carlton Dane, Lord of the Black Manor. Shaa had never heard the man’s name before but he had definitely heard of the black manor. It was supposedly the headquarters of an infamous group of mages who practiced forbidden arts. There were even rumors of human sacrifice. They had managed to stay on the run for years because anytime anyone tried to bring them in, the entire manor vanishes, leaving no trace.
I don’t suppose you ever heard of a note? A personalized cake? A freaking smoke signal!
No no, this particular request must be done….face to face. Please take a look at this. Sir Carlton holds out a parchment to Miles, who picks it up and unfurls it in front of the trio. Tell me, do you recognize…this?
The image on the paper sends a shock through all three of them. It is an image of the 5 headed Hydra Goose. The details in the picture are so clear, it could have only been drawn by someone who had actually seen it.
Yeaaghhh! Have you lost your mind. Get that thing away from me! Growled Shaa, still futilely struggling in his chair.
It’s only a picture sir, it cannot hurt you. But you are wise to be cautious. This beast has been an end to adventures far more experienced than yourselves. But you all know all about that don’t you. You three are here because you are some of the few men living who have actually seen the beast…and lived.
And we all would much like to stay that way!

The minstrel’s tail flicks back and forth worriedly; his golden gaze settles on the frail man on the couch, fully taking in his state of being. He seems— physically— unwell; but there’s a life behind his eyes that is stern and cold. It makes him shrink down in his chair, loose locks of crimson trailing down his shoulders.
The man on the couch introduces himself as Sir Carlton Dane, Lord of the Black Manor, and Cantio starts to pale. As a traveling musician, he has heard so many stories over the past several years— and there are a few in particular that he knows of the Black Manor— including the rumours of their infamous disappearing headquarters. “Th-the Black Manor?” he repeats; he laughs, but it sounds nervous.
Cantio’s tail curls upwards, twisting around the leg of his chair.
Is… is this it? Are they going to be sacrifices for the next dark undertaking of the mages of the Black Manor? What horrible things are they planning to do? Or, to summon?
He doesn’t want to die like this!
While he’s spacing out, he distantly hears Shaa’s growling and looks up; oh god, he super doesn't want to die like this!
“You’re sacrificing us to the hydragoose!?” Cantio chokes, bristling; the tall man next to him gives him a funny look while the lord of the manor actually explains what’s happening. “Y-yeah!” He agrees with Shaa. “I don’t think I want to see it again, frankly.” Cantio objects, shivering as he recounts his experience with the goose. “Have you ever seen a goose swallow a horse whole? I have, and I would like to ensure that I do not have to see it again, thank you very much! Or, you know... be the horse.”

As the conversation went on between everyone in the room with him, the fog in his glasses cleared. Now he could clearly see the two men who had kidnapped the three of them. Then Shaa is shown a picture of a beast which gets him riled up. It has to be a picture of a particularly fearsome beast to have even Shaa act that way!
From the reaction and what was said after Shaa's outburst, Ulrich started to get sinking feeling in his stomach.
No, they couldn't be talking about that beast, could they?
Then it seems that Cantio managed to get a look at the picture or had pieced it together before Ulrich. His suspicions were confirmed by Cantio's outburst now.
The HYDRAGOOSE. The dreaded creature that roams the Kingswood... He flashes back to that night in his childhood. His calm expression is broken slightly by a look of fear.
"There is absolutely no way in hell that I or my companions here will go anywhere near that beast! Have you not heard of the carnage it leaves in it's wake? The three of us are lucky enough to be here discussing anything with you!"
His eyes narrow as a question pops into his mind.
"Now what is it you need from three men who have survived to tell it's tale? What is this request of yours, Sir Carlton Dane?"

The man sitting on the couch laughed a deep throated laugh. This is EXACTLY why you gentlemen are here. It takes absolutely nothing for you to understand the enormity of the situation. But rest assured, the request about to be made here today, is not only possible, but essential to you all. The trio looked around at each other quizzically.
As you all know, the demon bird Denexanseroskyta, or as you laughably if not accurately call the “ Hydragoose” has terrorized Charon before time en memorium. Due to its very chaotic nature, most living beings steer far clear of the beast so, despite its longevity, very few people have any true knowledge of it. We at the black manor have collected bits and pieces of information over generations and, as a result of that effort, have discovered something curious.
You are getting to the part where I care? Said Shaa with a sneer.
Indeed. He continued, ignoring the tone. In our studies, we came across an account of a well respected mage who’s work was….well…ahead of its time. I won’t bore you with the details…
Too late
Hrrmmm but the POINT is, on the back of the goose is a feather. A singular brown feather amongst a field of white. A feather, which you are going to retrieve for me.
Shaa burst out laughing. That is hilarious. I don’t have a house or a boat. I don’t even have more than one pair of pants and I DONT CARE. What do you think you can offer me?
Miles walked over and hung a small charm on his horn. Shaa almost lost his breath. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!
Oh you recognize that?
He did. That janky trinket belonged to his mentor Athena. And she never went anywhere without it.
We understand your boss went missing. If you want to know where we got it, you will get that feather.
Athena had gone missing without a trace. This is the first solid lead they had in months. He couldn’t turn it down. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget you two. Miles?
Miles walked towards Canito and Ulrich.

Cantio winces; he doesn’t like the sound of that laugh; he looks nervously at Ulrich as the man questions him and nods along in agreement. “ If you just want a story, I have plenty!” he offers, tail flicking back and forth anxiously. He does not think this man wants a story, but it’s worth a shot. He listens, golden eyes reflecting his anxiety behind the shadow of his dragon mask. “ Some things just weren’t meant to be discovered. The Denex… Dexan… Dexenaserkot… hydragoose is probably one of them.” he objects, frowning as the man continues about a feather on the goose’s back, which they’re going to— “ Absolutely not! No way!” Cantio shakes his head, but suddenly… Shaa exclaims sharply; he winces at the sound, looking at the minotaur as something is dangled from his horn, and… well, he has no idea what it is. It looks like a little charm, but then the man on the couch mentions something about his boss? He blinks, brows furrowing as Miles starts to walk towards him next. He laughs nervously, “ Uh— really, you don’t have to.” he objects; he hesitates when the tall man brings out an object and balances it on his knee. It… it takes a second for him to realize what it is. It’s a cherrywood metronome— it’s old; but there’s a brass crest on the front that he recognizes as his family’s own. This was his. This was his metronome… The one he had left at home in his room when he’d left… The same one he’d had since he had first started to play the violin so many years ago. He'd gotten it for his fourth birthday, the same day he got his first violin. He stares at it, utterly blindsided by its arrival until something clicks. He had left it at home in his room.He starts to pale. “ At first, I thought it might be a shame if someone were to… blow your cover, little Song of Light…” Cantio still can’t speak. “ And I still can, but… then we met your mother... Imagine my surprise. It would be a shame if someone found the both of you, wouldn’t it?” Cantio blinks, looking up as Miles walks away towards Ulrich last.
“What…?” The man’s smile is ominous; chilling; but he doesn’t fully understand, despite the chill that runs down his spine.

Ulrich watches as the man, Miles, slowly makes his way over to him now. You didn't have to be a genius to figure that the old man— this Sir Carlton Dane— was using things very dear to each of them to coerce the men into cooperation. Ulrich and Miles' eyes met, a bit of defiance in the bespectacled man's expression while the tall man held nothing but cold blankness.
There was nothing that they could use against him. His family was part of a hunter/warrior tribe in King's Valley. There was no way they'd—
"Now, Mr. Ulrich Ambriz... I hear you're quite the traveler, but not only that, you are an accomplished Mage and Martial Artist!"
Sir Carlton Dane leaned backward on the couch, rubbing his hands together. Was it because of the cold or was it because of the enjoyment he had from watching the men succumb to his scheme?
At this point, Miles had stepped away from Ulrich and returned to his master's side. Ulrich's eyes narrowed slightly, waiting for the Old Man to continue.
"...Trained by none other than Hagumo Natsuki herself! Amazing woman, that one! Head of the Hagumo Clan, and as I have been told, she is also the secret head of the Disciples of Avasha! Is she not?"
Ulrich turned to the two men, the defiance in his eyes only building more at the mention of his Master.
"If you do anything to her I'll—" He was cut off by the Old Man.
"Oh, no no no! We wouldn't dare try anything on that woman! She can take care of herself... and she's too well protected. However, she's not the one you care about most is she?"
A devious grin formed on Sir Carlton Dane's face then, and Ulrich felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. Was he talking about harming his Father? His Mother? Please, they wouldn't be able to lay a hand on her or his father! What could he possibly have to hold against him?
"Are you familiar with a cult that goes by the name of 'The Aberrants of the Empyrean' by any chance?"
"Hardly. I hear that they've started creating problems recently in Charon." Ulrich replied with a scoff.
The Old Man chuckles at Ulrich's retort.
"Now what if I told you that a certain someone had found herself leading said cult? Hm? A certain someone who you and your tribesmen previously thought dead?"
Ulrich's defiant expression quickly disappears and is replaced with one of bewilderment. He is indeed unsettled by Sir Carlton Dane's words.
"Ah, so I have something you want, eh?" His grin was only growing, and it was infuriating.
Ulrich started to struggle against the spell binding him to the chair. The sounds of stress upon the chair he sat on could be heard clearly in the room. His expression slowly transforming into that of anger.
"Ah, struck a nerve, have I? Hmmm, what was her name again?" He taps his fingers to his chin, "Ah, yes! I remember it now! ...Judith De Gracia."
"Keep her name out of your mouth!"
Ulrich snapped at Carlton with a growl. His expression growing ever more frightening. A glint of violet tinged his blue eyes accompanying his outburst. His hands were balled into fists tightly behind his back. He was still able to hold his anger back for the moment.
Miles began to move, but was halted by a wave of Carlton's hand.
"Now Gentlemen, you know that I mean business. So how about we talk about this feather, yeah?"

Just who in Charon was this guy? Shaa didn’t know anything about the metronome or the person that Ulrich knew but, based on their reactions, Shaa could tell they were all in trouble. Carlton had gone to an awful lot of trouble to find their soft spots. That’s a lot of easier ways to kill somebody than sending them off to be goose feed.
Yeah yeah Carl. I can’t speak for my friends here but it appears you have our numbers.
That is SIR CARLTON says Miles sharply. Miles walks up to Shaa and back hands him in the snout. Shaa doesn’t flinch. His face doesn’t show it, but the back of Miles hand is now bloody from the thorns embedded on Shaa’s skin and fur. Shaa narrows his eyes and grins at Miles wickedly.
Now now Miles, they are our guests. Surely they can be afforded a bit of familiarity. After all, this may be the last time we see them in this world.
Carlton let the words sink in before continuing. But don’t lose hope my friends. If I just wanted to throw you at the goose like so much cannon fodder, I have minions for that. No. I WANT YOU TO SUCCEED. However unlikely, I want to reward you for your bravery and cunning. And, as luck would have it, there may be a way. Carl points to a parchment on a nearby side table.
There is another story that you need to be aware of. There was a strange tale of a Centaur who actually became friends with the thing centuries ago. The story goes that the goose was rampaging a certain countryside. As it happens, this particular countryside was home to a world famous musician. A Centaur by the name of Praxus. The story goes that to save his home, the Centaur played for the beast, day and night. They playing was so beautiful, it calmed the goose and it stopped destroying everything. The only problem was, when Praxus stopped playing, the goose was again enraged.
Wait, do you mean…
Indeed I do. Praxus kept playing…. until he died. But that was not the end of the story. Praxus had played for over a week non stop before collapsing. While this was happening, an unknown celestial saw the act of sacrifice and blessed the Centaurs instrument with the spirit of Praxus. When he died, the act of imbuing the spirit pushed the beast back into the forest where it has stayed ever since. That’s why you don’t see it rampaging all over Charon.
But here is the kicker. We have anecdotal evidence that the instrument still exists! If you one could get their hands on it, it might be able to calm the goose down long enough to say, grab a certain feather?

Ulrich’s sudden outburst startles the tiefling; he winces, causing the metronome to fall awkwardly between his legs. His tail flicks back and forth anxiously; he glances worriedly at the man beside them, straining against his binds, utterly furious— he’s never seen such an emotional response from him before.
He blinks, golden gaze remaining on Ulrich for just a moment longer, before he turns to look at Sir Carlton, and— “H-hey!” He looks at Miles wide-eyed and accusingly when he slaps Shaa. “You saying that doesn’t make us feel any more keen on this…” Cantio objects hesitantly; after witnessing Miles backhand Shaa, and not wanting to antagonize the men, himself.
Unlike Shaa and Ulrich, he is not really a brave man…
He curls his tail around the leg of his chair, ducking his head to look to the parchment on the nearby side table. He listens quietly to the story— respectful out of sheer fear if nothing else— but… but this is ridiculous, right!? This is absurd! “Are you suggesting we put the hydragoose to sleep with a song? You want us to sing a lullaby to a monster?” he looks, bewildered; Miles gives him a sharp look and makes him cower, however.
“Aha… I mean, that’s… come on— I’m a minstrel, and I understand the value of stories. There’s always a piece of truth to them, but sometimes they’re just myths.” Miles steps ominously past him, and Cantio strains to lean away from the man; his tail curls up and between his legs. “This is a big chance you’re taking on an instrument is all— please don’t hit me, I don’t like that look.”
Miles offers him a particularly scathing side-eye while he questions Sir Carlton’s story; Cantio looks a little like he wants to curl up into himself, but his legs and arms being bound makes that pretty hard. Sir Carlton laughs, his wrinkled eyes turning up when he smiles.
“I never said you would succeed— I said I want you to. I’m fully aware that a story is a story, but… we live in a land in which magic is real. We have the evidence, sweet Melos.” Cantio winces slightly, tail flicking back and forth in a wild anxiety. “And for the sake of what we have of yours, we fully expect you to comply— either prove us right or wrong. What do you say, gentleman?”

Ulrich sat there in silent anger, but also pondering on the Old Man's tale.
Praxus? Ah yes, the Tale of Praxus and the Hydra Goose! He had heard of the tale before when he was a boy. Growing up in the Valley, his tribe's settlements sat near the Kingswood. The older tribesmen would tell stories to the young children at night to ready them for bed. He has heard many superstitions about the forest, and this tale was one of them.
Ulrich's jaw clenched, his anger had not subsided. He wanted to break out of his binds to this chair and give these two men what they deserve, but the Old Man does indeed have something that he wants. He shakes his head slightly in defiance as he looks down towards the floor.
"Something to say there, Mr. Ambriz?" Carlton asks smugly.
Ulrich took in a deep breath, exhaling exasperatedly through the nose. "I've heard this story before. The older men in my tribe would tell it to us as bedtime stories," he stated, his head still drooping down. "The instrument, where?" he asks, looking up at Carlton with a glare.
A mischievous smile finds it's way across Carlton's face.
"Ah yes, I thought that you'd never ask."

Sir Carlton leans forward, giving the trio a long look from the couch. As many stories as there are of the goose, of Praxus and certain deaths, there are twice as many theories as to the final resting place of the ocarina. Some say it is in the Arid Mesa and the reason for its desolation. Others claim the dragons stole it for its magical properties and stored it in their treasure hoards long ago. Others still claim it was nothing more than a myth to keep people out of the forest. But we of the Black Manor know better. We have our secrets…even from each other. Sir Carlton produces a giant tooth out of a silk bag.
As it happens, one of our group recently passed away. The celestials keep him. Sir Carlton stopped for a moment, closing his eyes in thought, subconsciously stroking the giant tooth. Among his belongings was this bag that was bequeathed to me. Upon receiving the bag, I realized what this was.
A really big pain to brush? Shaa snarked.
Sir Carlton eyeballed him, clearly not amused but continued. This tooth belonged a pirate, ripped from the mouth of a leviathan. A very famous pirate by the name of Captain Kelly Scott. Shaa stopped him. That tooth belonged to gold claw the pirate? Carlton raised an eye brow. Indeed. A mythical story to some but a very real and very dangerous man to the sailors of his age. Near the end of his career, he was such a wanted man that he had to split his treasures up all over the world. At this point, all of those treasures have been uncovered and salvaged to treasure hunters and museums. All but one. The one that contains his most dangerous items. Items no one was ever meant to find. A list, noted here on this tooth. Note item number 12.
Miles brings the tooth over for further examination. Shaa notes some of the crazy items like drake poison, cyclops eye and essence of werewolf until he reaches number 12. The soul of Praxus. He says aloud. And where is the soul of Praxus my dear Minotaur? Shaa takes a minute. In his Ocarina. Sir Carlton exclaims. IN HIS OCARINA! Yes yes. My colleague knew the entire time he sat on the key to ..a real treasure but he disappointingly did not want to share. How very greedy of him, don’t you agree?
So here we are sirs. If you check the back of this tooth and do a little magic, these coordinates appear. Coordinates that curiously take you out in the middle of the ocean, just off the coast of the crescent isle. Or at least it appears that way. With the right spell and this tooth, an island will appear. An island, that is home to treasures galore. Treasures you may keep for your troubles. But the only real treasure for you is the ocarina. It may be the only thing to protect you from that monster.
So, I give you the tooth, access to a treasure, your little incentives and you give me one small feather from its tail. Do we have a bargain?
Shaa looked over at Canito and Ulrich. I won’t speak for them….but I’m in.

Cantio shuffles awkwardly in his seat, flexing his ankles against the binds in an attempt to wiggle free— but he’s no Shaa, and he’s no Ulrich— and those ropes may as well be chains. He breathes a dejected sigh, looking grimly towards Ulrich as Carlton addresses him.
Cantio breathes a soft sigh, listening to the story that Sir Carlton offers them with furrowed brows and nervous eyes. He listens while the man shares stories of the Ocarina’s final resting place… which truthfully, Cantio couldn't care less to know about! Who wants to find the Hydragoose, anyways? Well, aside from Sir Carlton…
He shuffles, making the legs of the chair creak while he listens to Sir Carlton talk about a pirate— he thinks he’s heard stories about Gold Claw the Pirate— but very few, given his large repertoire of stories that he’s heard over the years… he furrows his brows, listening closely as Sir Carlton explains that he had once split his treasures all over the world— and that they were all written on the tooth…
Cantio frowns as Miles brings the tooth over to Shaa for further examination; he lists off a ton of things that Cantio’s only vaguely heard of, and then… he reaches the soul of Praxus. Cantio frowns, listening to Sir Carlton boast about their now dead colleague. This is… crazy, right? This is really crazy. Cantio’s tail flicks back and forth worriedly, golden eyes narrowing when Sir Carlton extends his offer yet again…
But can they really afford to refuse at this point…?
Shaa and Ulrich certainly could have a fighting chance— he’s seen both hold their own! But he… he’s just a minstrel! Sending him on this mission feels like Sir Carlton is just begging to make him Hydragoose Fodder! The tiefling shares a glance with Shaa as he accepts the man’s offer, and hesitantly, he looks down at the metronome in his lap.
His relationship with his parents have never been good… but is he really willing to die for them?
Urgh… probably.
“I… Yeah, okay…” he agrees, mustering as little enthusiasm as he possibly can. It isn't much. “Just leave my parents out of whatever you’re trying to do, please.”
Sir Carlton smiles, leaning his elbow against an armchair; he looks to Ulrich, awaiting his decision.

Ulrich's fists tightened and loosened repeatedly behind him as he looked down. His eyebrows furrowed indicating that he was deep in thought. The tension was in the room was high; the old man was smugly awaiting his answer patiently, his friends sat there beside him already having given their answers.
He quietly contemplated what had just transpired in this room. He had information on all of them. He knew how to get to them. This is the kind of situation that Ulrich dreaded getting himself into the most. Especially because the topic of Judith was involved. That was a personal matter he works tirelessly at concealing from everyone around him, even his friends. This man just blurted her name out like nothing!
Calm yourself, Ulrich. If we agree to retrieve this damn ocarina and feather for him, none of us will ever have to worry about him again... Or so he says.
He takes in a deep breath, exhaling intensely through his nose. He slowly looks up towards the old man in the chair. A bit of animosity still his expression.
"Fine. I will help my friends here retrieve this feather of yours."
