It was the perfect plan, really. It was flawless. All Tatalia had to do was lure the bandits into her web of traps and capture them once they'd weakened themselves trying to escape.
The Spiders Canopy was always dark, and Tatalia knew she'd have an advantage in the shadowy confines of its realm. The many trees offered good cover as well, cover she could easily maneuver across, well above her prey. She could ambush her enemies from multiple angles, and with the thick, tangled roots of the trees providing obstacles on the forest floor... Yes, the bounty was as good as hers! And nobody would have to die!
Of course, Tatalia had to admit that it was theoretically possible that something could throw her plans awry, but it wasn't likely. Nobody dared tread deep in the Spiders Canopy except bandits and giant spiders, and ever since her previous escapades with those, Tatalia really didn't fear their interference that much. No, the plan was a good plan. It was going to work.
The contented goblin leaned back on the tree branch she was using as a hiding place, watching the world below in a lazy fashion. She let herself have a sip from her hip flask, enjoying a few precious moments to herself. It'd been a long day of travel and trap setting, but it was all going to pay off splendidly.
Then the goblin's large ears picked up the faintest bit of movement in the distance.1 It wasn't much - whoever made that noise wasn't unfamiliar with the woods, she was sure - but it was just perceptible enough that Tatalia suddenly wondered if she was going to have to lure anyone to her trap at all. Silently, she slipped her sword from its sheath and crept a little further along the branch,2 making no sound at all.3 She peered into the darkness between the trees4 and waited to see what manner of bandit was going to show his ugly face.
Abilities used: 1) Increased Senses; 2) Surface Scaling; 3) Silent Step; 4) Dark Vision
