It didn't escape her that Cantio was avoiding some of her questions, or answering in a very broad way. She didn't mind - she wouldn't probe any further. It was not her intention to extract information, just to chill and have a pleasant, albeit very unexpected day. And Cantio was very unexpected, so it was all going according to plan.
It almost escaped her lips the question that quickly formed when Cantio talked about his parents. Certainly, having lived a long time at the Capitol, she would know them by name. Who were they, then? But... Somehow she found it better to not know, to keep the mystery. Cantio would reveal it, if he wanted to. But as of now... She'd rather speak to the young man in front of her, despite his lineage or talents or expectations.
With both of their cups full again, she raised her in a toast.
"To us, then! Mediocre apprentices, rebelious young children of highly exceptional parents, disgraces of our time!"
She chugged the entire thing in one go. Again. The elf brought a plate with some pieces of cheese and bread, once again glancing over to Cantio with much interest, without saying anything. Kamille looked back at Cantio with a thoughtful expression.
"It's.... Now that you mention, it is funny, you know? People don't pressure me into it, no... I have only my father, and he is not very much interested in what I do or don't do with my magic. But... I feel this urge. From within. And I can't help but think I'll need to find other ways around developing it... Maybe I'll take a break to see the world too. Maybe that is what is happening to you right now, right? Maybe you need to take a break... Before you start hating what you do."
Cantio's situation was very different from hers. She wondered it must be bad enough to like something, and being made to hate it because of the pressure one's upon. She hoped he could find his way again - she knew very little of that stranger before her, but had the empathy to understand his struggles. Maybe, like she said it herself, he only needed a break? A distraction?
"Hey... When was the last time you had some fun, Cantio? What are you going to do with the rest of your day?"

It's actually a pleasant surprise when Kamille lets his slip-up slide; she hardly bats an eye-lash. There's no questions about his parents, or of his distaste for his own craft; she skips over every bit of it, raising her cup instead in a toast. Cantio wonders if the relief is visible on his face, but no matter the case, he eases— as different as they may be, Kamille seems to get it. So, he bubbles into a more genuine laugh, clinking his cup against Kamille's in a toast. "A toast to us, then!" he agrees enthusiastically. He gets through about half of his cup following the toast before he needs to put it down— but he's trying to keep up with Kamille. As if that's even possible at this point. He laughs softly to no one in particular after he goes about clearing his throat. It's not long before the elf returns with a plate of cheese and bread and Cantio accidentally meets his gaze; he looks away quickly, sheepishly hiding himself back into his drink.
It might be that Kamille hasn't been pressuring him, or it might be the ale starting to buzz in his system already; either way, he finds that his posture gradually begins to grow a little more lax and his words are a little more loose as they continue speaking. "An urge, hm?" he remarks calmly from over his drink, tail swaying leisurely while she talks; it seems few people in Kamille's life give her the time of day in terms of her apprenticeship, or maybe in general... which is unfortunate, given she sounds quite passionate about her magic. And, she's proving to be quite a hoot. "Well... maybe that's how you know it's actually your calling, then?" he muses, "If its your own voice telling you to do it?" He wonders, distantly, when the last time he actually felt that kind of call may have been; a while ago, maybe— far before his first recital took place, and when he still thought he stood a chance amongst his family and their musical peers. He's pretty sure he stopped feeling it after that; Cantio's in the middle of taking another drink when Kamille's words begin to shift. "A break?" he repeats after setting down his cup. He already... kind of hates what he does, but he still hums a soft, "Mm..." as he considers the possibility. He did... kind of have something already at the back of his mind, although he's not sure if he'd consider it a break; still, Kamille speaks again, and Cantio raises his eyes to meet her.
"Fun? My... I hardly know what that word means anymore." he bemoans with a flare of the dramatic, heaving an over-exaggerated sigh as he drops his head into his open palm and tips his cup towards him to look at its contents. "What am I going to do with the rest of my day? Well..." he trails off, cocking an eyebrow as her question fully registers. He rights his cup, looking back at her with a tilt of his head and a curious glint to his amber eyes. "Hopefully not return to my studies for the span of the rest of the day, if I'm to be entirely honest. Why?"

Despite the alcohol, Kamille was perceptive when she wanted to be - and a handsome man was always under her vigilant eyes. She noticed how he seemed relieved she didn't press any further into his background, and she wondered why. There was a story there, and she would gladly hear it when he was ready to tell her.
She took a bite of cheese.
"Do you think your Masters would be upset if I borrowed you for a couple of hours today? I know my own Master will be furious..."
That was kinda her point, of course. She wanted to get on everyone's nerves today: Valatar, Baram, Charles. And if she had asked for that morning to bring her more excitement than just some buying reagents, the Gods have thrown Cantio into her way. Or thrown her into his, quite literally. He seemed to be the perfect partner in crime for the day, she wondered, with a mischievous smile starting to shape her lips without her even noticing it. She took her own shot and filled both of their cups again.
The half elf propped her elbows on the table and leaned forward, speaking in a hushed tone.
" How much do you enjoy.... tea parties?"
It didn't.... sound as exciting, but her eyes glinted with interest as she probed the tiefling to do mischief with her. Not that he was aware of her intentions yet....
"There's this lady that is throwing a tea party right now, and I kinda have a way in. Would you want to go with me?"
She made it sound like she was invited - which she wasn't.
"And then, if you want, when we're out I can accompany you back home if you wish. Or back to wherever you want."

"Upset?" Kamille asks for his thoughts on his masters— suggesting she borrow him for a few hours, which is right on par with what he'd hoped she'd ask, actually. He certainly isn't going to say no; even if he hadn't planned to run into Kamille, he hadn't planned much of anything today. Actually... The only thing he'd really wanted, was to get out of the house before his mother's company — a few of his masters — arrived.
She'd be miffed he'd snuck out before the crack of dawn, and he'd be in for it later— so why in the world would he want to go back anytime soon? Kamille's presence is a blessing in disguise— that disguise being one particularly rough collision back on the cobblestone, but he digresses. "I've already skipped out," he sways his tail, curious, as he polishes off his second drink. "So, I'm sure they can't possibly get anymore upset with me than they are— what is it you have in mind?"
He watches Kamille put back the rest of her second cup; she fills up their cups again; and after she has, Kamille leans forwards on her elbows. Cantio leans in a bit to catch her hushed words in return.
"Tea parties?" he repeats with a cocked brow, his voice just as hushed as hers in the gentle murmur of the tavern. "I've been to a few here and there, I suppose. Not quite my cup of tea, but..." he trails off, noting the glimmer in Kamille's deep, blue eyes— and the mischievous smile across her lips. Unfortunately, he still doesn't put two and two together; she and all her mischief have his full attention.
Cantio clicks his tongue curiously, tilting his head as he folds his hands together and interlaces his fingers, while Kamille explains the tea party.
"Well..." She's been invited by some lady, is what he's gathering from how she's said it; and he's two and a half cups deep in ale, which is already over his limit. He hardly gives that fact a second thought, while he takes another sip of his drink, and then answers with a cheery smile. "I think," he remarks, waving a hand in a care-free gesture. "we both need a break, hm? Borrow me for as long as you'd like."
He breathes a soft laugh; his mind's still trying to put this tea party thing together. Seems odd to him to drink and eat before a planned tea party; but either way, Cantio lifts his cup, leaning back in his chair as he looks at Kamille with a curious smile, and a tilt of his head.
"I'll come. When's this tea party supposed to be?"

"The party is starting right now! Let's go!"
Kamille's face lighted up in a warm smile when Cantio said he would join her. She urged him to finish one more drink with her, and when they were done with it, she pulled him out of the tavern. She waved the elf in green goodbye, and the elf waved back with a longing look, offering Cantio a sly wink.
Once they were out, Kamille once again entwined her arm with the tiefling's, chattering up happily about the most mundane things ever. The bustling market hit them in the face, pushing them forward into a loud and rude crowd. The time they spent with their early drinks was enough to have the rest of the city awake and move out to the streets and their daily errands.
Kamille seemed to know the city well enough as to guide them into suspicious alleys and shortcuts into a more fancy part of town, where the houses got larger and richer. They followed a fancy carriage along a street, and it became clear the carriage was headed to their destination, a house ahead of the street that seemed to be bustling with activity, laughs and female voices, most of all.
But instead of approaching the front gate, where the ladies were being received by some galant knights and guards, Kamille pulled Cantio to the street to the side of the house, acting very suspiciously for someone who was supposedly invited.
"So, now.... If I remember correctly, the back yard opens in a small garden with an old, rusty gate we can climb where no one can see us..."
She spoke in a hushed tone as she led Cantio around the house, looking around as to beware to the presence of the guards. Oh, yes. She definitely wasn’t invited to that party.......

Kamille's face lights up when he agrees; she urges him to finish one last drink before they leave; he does. Then, just like that, they're off. She practically drags him out of the tavern, leaving Cantio little time to actually bid any proper farewell to the elf, but he does offer a somewhat clumsy last wave as Kamille ushers him out the door and onto the street. He laughs good-naturedly as she entwines her arm with his again; and off the two of them go into the morning crowd of citygoers. He listens contently to Kamille as she chatters about mundane things; occasionally pushing back against the crowd, or offering a firm, " Excuse us," as they cross through. He's not actually sure where he's going though; so, for the most part, he just lets Kamille pull him along to wherever. She guides them through odd alleyways and convenient short-cuts through small suburban areas— between shops, homes, and eventually the larger estates of the city. Of course, he does find it a bit odd that Kamille is going out of her way to take all of the back-roads into the upperclass area of town, but in his pleasantly buzzed state? He genuinely doesn't even think to ask about it. He just, assumes she knows where she's going. Shortcuts, right? And she does get them there eventually! They come across a small road following a fancy carriage, between premier sidewalks and eloquent estates; and he follows obediently after her. Feminine laughter fills the air as they approach one house in particular, and Cantio assumes this must be the place. He's about to ask when Kamille suddenly pulls him to the side; and in his state, it feels like whiplash. "Wh—" he chokes on a surprised sound, blinking his confusion away as Kamille leads him around the side of the house rather than through the front.
He still hasn't gotten the clue, yet; but then, Kamille speaks:
"So, now.... If I remember correctly, the back yard opens in a small garden with an old, rusty gate we can climb where no one can see us..."
After a moment of consideration, while he's watching Kamille look around for any witnesses, it clicks.
"Wait, wait—" he objects, his voice just as hushed as Kamille's. "We're sneaking into the tea party?" he asks, throwing a mildly nervous glance over his shoulder. It doesn't seem like anyone's paying attention to them, or noticed them pull away from the road. "Is that okay? I mean— of course it's not, we're sneaking in, but— why exactly are we sneaking into this lady's tea party? Who is she?"

"Who is she? Her name is Lady Mallibel, she is part of the Court at the castle because she is the wife of a Councilmember.... You know these people who look at you like you shouldn't be breathing the same air as them? That look down on you merely because your family doesn't belong to an old and noble family of whatever part of the world? You must know, those people who thinks their farts smells like roses.... That's her."
As she tore down on the lady hosting the party, she seemed to be looking for a way to open the rusty gate they eventually found while circling the house, looking around anxiously.
"She never liked me. For... Some reason or another. And I never did anything to her, I swear! But then, she decides to make her life goal to ruin my life and suddenly everyone seems to think it's a good idea to marry me to stupid Baram, because why not? I know it is her that's behind this, I heard the maids talking the other day."
Despite their similar stories in their apprenticeship, it looked like Kamille also had some background she had been hiding. She spoke of being at a castle, but not being royalty at the same time - that, and being a mage apprentice too. Some dots could be connected...
She started to climb the rusty old gate.
"So, here I thought. If she wants to ruin my life, I'll at the very least ruin her tea party. Maybe she'll give up on her crusade of trying to marry me to Baram, and then I can get some semblance of peace, someday."
As she climbed up the gate, she stopped atop of it and looked around to see if someone was watching. Then, she looked back to Cantio.
"Besides... A little salt in ones teas, or pepper in the jam doesn't hurt anyone, does it?"
She winked playfully at the tiefling, jumping to the other side of the property.

Lady Mallibel. Even in his state, the name pings as somewhat familiar to him... but he doesn't think he's ever met her before. "She's that bad?" he remarks, trying to grasp what he can from Kamille's description of the Lady at the Court; but he can't put any face to her name. The way she's described could not possibly be any less flattering to her personality. Kamille is doing a great job ramping up Lady Mallibel's poor reputation.
He has met people like her; some of his own mentors, in fact, held a similar sort of pompous energy to the way they looked down on him. It made his skin crawl; like nothing he could do would ever be good enough for them. Frustrating.
She's not done, though— so, even while Kamille is looking for a way to open up the gate and Cantio is naturally falling into a lookout role while she does— she's still talking about Lady Mallibel. Something about the woman trying to marry her off to some fellow named Baram— who is decisively not named Charles— and he manages to get out a, "She sounds like an absolute menace," before Kamille is continuing with her ramble about seeking some kind of vengeance in ruining her tea party.
Cantio breathes a soft puff of laughter as he looks left and right for any signs of guards or witnesses, but... ... Wait, Lady at the Court? In the castle?
It's around this time, when he hears the gate rattling, that the dots start to connect; a little late, mayhaps, but he's had over his usual share of ale. The dots are connecting nonetheless. "Wai... wait— Kamille? How do you know the—-" he can't get out the word, 'court', because Kamille has already reached the top of the fence. He looks up at her as she looks down at him; and a darker crimson flushes his face as she winks playfully at him and hops to the other side. He looks across at her for a moment, dumbfounded, as she lands safely on the other side of the property. He's momentarily uncertain in his next course of action. Does he... go with her? He's already agreed to, but... What if they get caught? The young lady in purple, with the deep blue eyes and the mischievous smile, is a mysterious one. He looks worriedly over his shoulder, then looks back to her; his tail flicks nervously as he eyes up the rusty gate. He feels like this should be a bad decision, and yet... maybe it's the ale, because... it's a bit exciting, too, isn't it? And, by Kamille's description... well, Lady Mallibel does sound like a menace. Really, what harm is a little salt in one's tea? And... he's already promised to join her at the tea party, right?
He shakes his head, a defeated smile crossing his lips as he looks to the left and right. Once he knows he's clear, he steps forwards and grabs hold of the gate. "I suppose it doesn't, does it? There's worse kinds of karma to be had," he agrees, finding his footholds in the gate, and climbing up after her. He climbs over, careful of his clothing, and hops down. He lands next to Kamille, "and it sounds like karma has a lot of catching up to do?"

Kamille wasn’t sure why she was dragging this stranger to her petty endeavours - she didn’t even stop to consider that maybe he even knew these people, since he said he's come from a family of famous singers and composers, if she was not mistaken. Maybe the ale had something to do with her liking to Cantio, but if she was to be honest to herself, she liked his gentle eyes and curteous manners. She hoped that wouldn’t be their only interaction in life, despite knowing it probably would.
She smiled brightly at Cantio when he decided to join in her petty quest and jumped into the gate as well.
Once he landed on her side, she took him by the hand, made a "shush" with a finger held to her lips and proceeded to pull him around the house.
"Don’t tell me you've never thought about doing something like this before? Maybe putting some laxatives into your Masters tea.... or... or... Hiding away all of their pens? Or ink? So they would always have just one but not both?"
Despite speaking of Lady Mallibel with fervorous distaste, she didn’t seem to know her way around her house. They were in the back of the gardens, and the party was apparently at the front, where the sounds of feminine voices were heard. Some servants came and went, but for the moment being Cantio and Kamille were able to avoid them.
"Once I hid all of Baram's left socks. Only the left ones. He's one of those guys that likes all of his things in an orderly manner, you know?"
As they walked around the back of the garden, they heard someone approaching, and Kamille quickly pulled Cantio to a small nook nearby, behind a statue, where they would hide in its shadows. For a moment, she remained silent, but then looked up to him to finish her story.
"It looked like his head was about to explode when I asked him why his socks didn’t match. What about you? Have you ever wanted to do something like that?"

Kamille hushes him as his feet touch the other side, and Cantio covers his mouth with three fingers on his free hand— looking a bit embarrassed that he might be the one to draw attention to them. Luckily, he is not— no one seems to hear their whispering, actually: and Kamille grabs his hand with her free one, pulling him around the house. All the while still telling him a story, even though they're currently on a stealth mission in someone else's backyard, with servants bustling here and there.
He listens though, while glancing around worriedly for any sign of witnesses as Kamille pulls him around the back gardens— presumably trying to find the front, but she seems to know where she's going about as much as he does. The garden feels like an unfamiliar labyrinth.
It’s a tense situation for him - mischief isn’t exactly his middle name - but even so, he can’t help but choke on a laugh and a smile as Kamille tells her tale of hiding Baram’s socks. He knows many people who are the same - and he can only imagine their reactions to looking even slightly out of sorts. He’s quick to quiet down when the sound of footsteps catches his attention, and Kamille pulls him into a nook of shadows like a ragdoll.
He stumbles as he’s pulled within the dark, placing one hand on the statue’s base to keep himself steady. They remain in a terse silence, waiting for the footsteps to pass, before Kamille turns to look at him and finish her story.
Has he ever wanted to do anything like that?
Cantio blinks, looking into her deep blue gaze with slight surprise, then looks to where his hand connects with the statue. “I mean….. sure I have.” He agrees softly; he thinks about all the times he’s had those similar desires, but never acted on them. All the times he wanted to hide his mentor’s inks to keep them from marking up his music sheets; all the times he’s wanted to hide their bows so he can skip his lessons; all the times he wondered what would humble his mentors just a little bit. Make them more human.
“But thinking about it and doing it are two different things, y’know?”
He looks over his shoulder, paranoid someone will eventually see them - and what then? “My mother would really rip into me if I ever disrespected my mentors,” there’s a mild bitterness in his tone; a sigh at the mention. “Mischief really never felt like an option.”

Kamille seemed to revel in the excitement of the situation, such mischievous contained smile creeping up her lips. She listened as to wait for them to be alone to be able to walk out of their hideout, but then he speaks about his mentors and his mother, and what caught her attention was not only his words, but his tone of bitterness and sadness. She looked up to him for a moment, and once again during that unusual day, she noticed how handsome and charming he was. It stroke her in such an unusual time that she felt herself blushing, her face warm. The half elf shook the feeling, trying to make it go unoticed and replace it with a mischievous smile.
"Well... Just an idea... Keep this story a secret until you're out of your parents house, famous and rich... and then, when your elderly mother and mentors are old and frail, you look them straight in the eyes and reveal all the stories of tea parties you crashed and ladies you swept off their feet and watch their reactions."
It was a whole lot of assumptions, but it was good to dream. Then before listening to his reply, she pulled him out of their hideout, since no one seemed to be around. They could hear the party going on in the front, but so far they couldn’t see anything.
Kamille walked so confidently that, the only indication she had no idea what she was doing was the fact she walked the same path a couple times and she constantly looked around with a puzzled look on her face. She was so lost that, at some point, she realized she was about to walk into the part of the garden the party was actually taking place, pulling Cantio back behind a hedge. She spied beyond de edge.
"Looks like the kitchen is to the other side...."

There's no one coming.
Cantio breathes a small sigh of relief and looks back to Kamille as she smiles mischievously up at him. The shadows hide a rosey tint to the paleness of her cheeks, but her deep blue eyes still sparkle stunningly; the light behind them glittering playfully behind their sapphire hues. He's sure he can find some way to blame the ale, or this situation, for his lapse in attention; Kamille is a stunning and mysterious young lady.
It's a shame he's not sure he'll see her again after this.
He finds himself startling slightly as she speaks; her hushed voice suggesting that he hold onto some 'ultimate prank', in which he reveals at some point in their elder years that he was a prankster and troublemaker all along. The mere idea makes him snicker; and he covers his mouth to keep himself from laughing as Kamille grabs him and drags him from their hideout. He goes compliantly, padding after her with cautious obedience.
"I'll make sure to really exaggerate it," he promises, a playful lilt to his hushed tone, despite the fact that her assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. There will be one tea party that he has crushed... albeit, the success of that lies solely on the rest of their covert mission. "for maximum effect, of course." Kamille almost convinces him that she knows where she's going in her confidence— up until they nearly walk directly into the party; Cantio chokes on a surprised sound as Kamille redirects him back behind a hedge.
He ducks, trying to ensure his horns don't breach over the top of the leaves. He looks over to her as she peeps out from the top of the hedge. "It's on the other side?" he repeats quietly; he peeks over the edge of the bushes, himself, then ducks back down— too worried to be caught. "Could we follow the hedges to the side of the house? Duck under the tables? I've never seen tablecloths that long before, honestly... a bit excessive."

"If you mean as excessive as her triple chins, maybe, yes... You know what they say about men wanting to build enormous castles and towers to compensate for something? I suppose this is the equivalent..."
If it depended on her, Kamille wouldn't stop talking dirty about the poor lady that crossed with her. The ale certainly had some part to play in all of that, but not as much as one would think. For a moment, she tried to spy over the edge and look around for alternatives. There was a hedge that went around the side of the main area reserved for the party, far away enough so they could use it as cover. It wasn't very tall, so they would need to crouch.
She turned to Cantio.
"That hedge that goes around.... It looks like it opens up to the back of the kitchen... Watch out, there's a few spots that are tricky... Let's go!"
Without waiting much for Cantio, she spied a little more from her spot, and for a brief second left her cover to throw herself behind the shorter hedge. As the Gods loved to protect the children and the drunk, after a second or two of suspence, when she stood quiet to listen in.... nothing seemed to change. The prim, pompous laughter of the ladies continued the same, the gossips flowing wildly despite being so early and no alcohol involved.
Kamille started to quickly crawl away to go around the party, using the hedge as cover, willing to leave Cantio behind if he didn't follow her fast!
If Cantio was to look around, far off to the other side, closer to the kitchen, a guard was casually strolling around the party. If he stood on his path, eventually he could spot Kamille behind the hedge if she didn't take cover, like by rolling into the hedge.
But Kamille didn't seem like she could spot the guard....

Cantio chokes on a laugh, hand over his mouth to keep himself quiet as Kamille un-apologetically berates the woman of the household. "Kamille!" his voice isn't scolding in the slightest, but holds a hushed, bemused surprise and withheld laughter at her choice of worded equivalencies. Kamille is funny; charming in her honesty and straightforward, blunt nature; if anyone heard her talk like that about a lady of the court, though? Oh, they were in for it.
How does she get away with these kinds of things?
Kamille turns to him and Cantio perks up attentively. "Right behind you." he agrees; but with Kamille's small pause, he takes it as a sign they're not leaving yet; but he is wrong. He's looking out towards the garden when he hears her movement. He looks quickly to the side and finds that Kamille has left him without warning! A tiny flutter of panic makes his heart skip a beat, and he dashes after her, leaving his own cover; and the gods are, indeed, merciful to the drunk.
Even when Cantio, a 6' 1" inebriated Tiefling, sploots into the grass after tripping over his own boots in his hurry to catch up to her, he still manages to recover without being noticed by the party. His heart flutters in his chest as he huddles behind the hedge, waiting a few seconds and listening to the continued sounds of the party, before he peeps over the shrubbery, when he sees...
There's... a guard, close to the kitchen strolling around, and he's heading...
Uh oh.
Oh no!
"Kamille!" he hisses softly in warning, but she hasn't waited on him; Cantio looks towards her in a panic as she disappears around a corner; he looks back to the guard's route, and then uses the shrubbery as cover to quickly duck after her. He's far too busy worrying about them getting caught than he is on the proper etiquette of their situation: the ale is certainly not helping, and so, he isn't thinking twice when he manages catch up to her.
He grabs Kamille and proceeds to roll the both of them into the hedges to avoid being spotted by the guard; quite literally, roll them into the hedge, in a tangle. Tumbling into leaves and branches is a dizzying feeling, and it is yet another miracle of the gods that they are slowed enough to keep them from rolling into the party, itself. Cantio is disoriented by the time they stop beneath shaded branches of leaves and shrubbery, but he thinks he's landed on his back— still loosely holding onto Kamille, wherever she's ended up.
He has little time to reorient himself to the present, or explain the situation, because the heavy footfalls of the guard approach the opening of the hedges nearby, where the guard certainly would have intercepted Kamille.

Usually, she would blame the ale for making her feel the world spinning around her - this time, she could blame Cantio, but she didn't realize it yet. All she knew is that things were spinning, and suddenly there were leaves and sticks everywhere, blotting out the sun.
"Wha-?"
The question remained in the air, as she heard the sound of armor and heavy footsteps. For a few, tense moments, she remained quiet, going as far as pulling her robe closer to the body when she realized what was actually happening and where they were, making sure a piece of the fabric wouldn't be exposing their hideout.
Seconds turned into minutes. She ended up rolling into the nook of his arm, half way from being fully on top of him. She tried to get up on her elbows when she heard the guard's footsteps, and then she froze. The only part of her that moved were her eyes, as she listened in to the guard, trying to decide where he was.
The sounds of the party to one side of them, the footsteps of the guard to another, they were a testament to the fact the Gods loved to see drunk people wreaking a bit of mischief on the daily, boring lives of responsible people. It was quite a miracle they weren't caught so far, one way or another.
After a moment that felt like minutes but were only really a couple of seconds, she decided she couldn't hear the sound of the guards footsteps anymore, that slowly faded away. She looked over to Cantio, straight into his eyes. They were very close, and the spirit of mischief still driving her actions.
"You have beautiful eyes," she said, with the sole purpose of seeing him blush.
With a soft chuckle, she rolled out of their hideout, pulling him with her. They were very close to the kitchen. If all went according to her plan, all they needed to do was to go up to the kitchen's windows, wait for it to be quiet and empty and crawl into it.
