Capitol Landing Capitol Landing is the heart of Charon and the hub of civilization in the land. Comprised of four islands, this region is the capitol of Charon and the seat of the royal family. The primary island is home to Sol City. It is the largest city in the nation, covering 90% of the island and home to thousands of citizens. This city has everything, from markets to taverns and inns, its also the epicenter of business and trade. While the royal family consist solely of Sun Elves, every race and creature type can be found here, living and working in harmony. Like most bustling cities, Sol City is divided into a lower class, middle class and nobility, with its gap between poverty and success being the largest in the land.
The three remaining islands act as the limbs of government. The Halberd's Tip is a military outpost where most of Charon's military is trained and stationed. It acts as a training facility, barracks and first line of defense against intruders looking to assault the island. Not much goes on here outside of the military, with many of its areas locked down and restricted to outsiders. Lilac Bay is a beautiful island covered in flowers and vegetation, and is home to the Martial Academy. Warriors from all across Charon come here to train and study, advancing their martial skills and prowess. The Fighter's Guild can also be found here, prepping and arming warriors for the future. Finally, there is Maazeric Island, a mystical and serene location that houses both the Arcane Academy and the Mage's Guild. Here, scholars, mages and wizards all come together to enhance their arcane abilities, delving into the deep wonders of the world and expanding the outlook on magic. Notable Locations - Sun's Keep, home to the royal family
- Gold Port, largest port in Charon
- Temple of the Sun, first and oldest temple to the gods
- Martial Academy, school for warriors and martial fighters, home to the Fighter's Guild in Lilac Bay
- Arcane Academy, school for mages and wizards and home to the Mage's Guild in Maazeric Island
Culture Capitol Landing is a mixing pot of cultures found across Charon, with races from all across the land. Anyone and everyone has come to this island, bringing with them their own traditions and lifestyles. Home to nobles and diplomats, fashion here ranges from lowly garb to extremely nice, expensive clothing. The clothing styles vary greatly, from heavy winter furs, light silks, and even armor. The food here is just as diverse as its people, being a mix of all kinds of cuisines with the most elegant and lavish finding its way into the Sun's Keep. Art, music, dance and theater can be found here as well, with a thriving night life and an over the top perspective on life. Anyone trying to be a somebody can find a place here in Capitol Landing. Despite its progressive nature and free flowing ideology, the city is also rife with corruption and ill intentions. Politicians vie with each other for power while back alley dealers peddle stolen goods and knock off wares.

Moonglade Moonglade is in the lower western part of the southern peninsula and is one of two major locations in Charon that most people sail to as it has one of the busiest and nicer ports. This region is mainly forests, woodlands, and open fields that stretch towards the central part of the land. It is known for having dense forests, wild thickets and some crazy wildlife. The coastal tip is covered in a massive jungle known as the Eclipse Jungle and is home to the region's capitol and seat of power. Many other patches of forest dot the region with a single far spreading field stretching from one end to the other, stopping at the border of Marsh Flats.
This region is known best for its clear views of the night sky. Many astronomers and scholars come here to study the stars, and it is said you can come face to face with the gods here. The people here are very family oriented, hard workers and are known for living off of the land. Hunters, farmers, rangers and druids all call this place home, tapping into the primal life force of nature itself. While it is one of the larger regions in Charon, most of Moonglade is just vast wilderness, with very little civilization outside the few villages and towns. Eclipse City, the second largest city in Charon acts as a second capital, with many of the people living on the southern half of the continent using this city for its trade, business and leisure amenities. Notable Locations - Eclipse City, home to the Moon Elves
- White Walled Castle, a large marble keep, home to moon elf noble family
- Lantern Light Wood, a bioluminescent forest
- Moonveil Forest and Village, a small little community of druids, farmers and animal caretakers
- Shadewood, a dark and foreboding forest with large, dangerous creatures
- Stargazers Field and Village, the best places to study the stars in all of Charon
Culture Moonglade is a very quiet region with a large emphasis on family and hard work. The people here live off the land, tending to the forest and using nature to survive. Many people here hunt or farm to gather their food which normally consists of deer, boar, goat, vegetables and fruits all of which can be found growing or living off the very land itself. Many people here are naturally in tune with the land working as hunters, druids, sages or hermits. Locals are also considered to be very spiritual, revering the gods and the heavens alike. Because of the environment, most people wear comfortable, loose clothing that fits a very earthy and natural motif. Many articles of clothing are made of natural fibers from plants, bark, vines and other naturally growing material. Many of the nobles and royalty sport more elegant attire, adorning their hair, faces and bodies with leaves, plants or animal parts such as horns and antlers. While Moonglade recognizes Sol City and the Golden Family as the ruling head, many people devote their loyalty to the Moon Elves, viewing them as the rightful heirs to Charon. Moonglade citizens are very loyal, honorable and determined.
Notable NPCs - Maylin Nimia, Princess of Eclipse City

Crescent Isles The Crescent Isles make up an island chain to the south of the mainland and predominantly includes a large moon shaped island. The main island is very beautiful being home to many rare flowers and wildlife. Starlight City is said to have the most unique army trained in martial arts, adopting a very fluid and more traditional way of fighting. While the Crescent Isles are technically part of Moonglade when it comes to politics and regional trade, the region does its best to remain autonomous, staying out of the affairs of the mainland. Most of the island is a self contained ecosystem and self sufficient community that has been thriving without outside help for years. Its technology, magic, culture and military have all been growing rapidly and many in the region support the idea of becoming their own nation.
The capital of the region is Starlight City. It is a very noble and traditional place and those who live here are said to have descended from very ancient houses of warriors. Despite their political connections to the mainland, they have a very unique culture that sets them apart. With islander and oceanic inspirations, this is truly a land of its own. Filled with beauty, wonder and heart, many people call the Crescent Isles the last true free place in Charon. Notable Locations - Starlight City, the capital of the Crescent Isles
- Bamboo Woods, a vast and massive forest of bamboo, the only place of its kind
- Crescent Coast, a beautiful sandy beach that stretches the entire island
Culture Starlight City as well as the entire island chain is a very traditional, tight knit community that values family and honors their ancestors. The culture is very much steeped in helping one another, sharing, and providing for one each other. While a peaceful and gentle people, they are also determined, diligent, and devoted, never backing down or allowing anyone to walk over them. The main island is filled with flowing rivers, colorful fields, and vibrant woods, all of which the people take inspiration from. Art, music, fashion, and even the food is all inspired from this unique land. The people dress in very formal but colorful clothing, eat mostly sea food, and have developed their own cultural traditions. Families live in tight communities across the region, often marrying members of other families to strengthen alliances. The people are very secluded and rarely open up to outsiders, making this part of Charon one of the most mysterious and unexplored lands to outsiders.
Notable NPCs - Meloku Leylani, Princess of Starlight City
- Starlight Council, council that governs the city
- Yokai Monokaliki, leader of the Teishin Shudan
- Teishin Shudan, primary fighting force of the island

Marsh Flats The Marsh Flats is the region to the east of Moonglade and separates the west from the east of the southern part of Charon. Once a major part of this region, the Marsh Flats have now become a submerged swamp, the Luna Sea on either side beginning to swallow the region up. Due to hundreds of years of rain, flooding and the land sinking, this region has become devoid of permanent standing civilizations, with most remnants of past settlements washing away or being lost to time. Before the environment changed, there were many villages and castles. However, all that is left is ruins, tangled mangroves, towering cypresses, and tidal pools. Massive parts of the region literally falling into the sea and being at the mercy of the tides.
With the lack of large permanent settlements and large populations of civilians, the Marsh Flats have become teeming with an abundance of territorial wildlife reclaiming the bogs, swamps, and tidal floodplains. Despite all this and the unstable ground and hazardous environment, a small village known as Lilicors Village has managed to establish itself amongst the hanging mosses and giant pond lilies. Lilicors Village is a small patched together town predominantly inhabited by amphibianfolk, lizardfolk, goblins, and orcs. It serves as the main settlement catering to travelers and permanent residents of the swamplands alike. Notable Locations - Lilicors Village, the only settlement made up of homes built on stilts and rafts
- Safe Dry Eat Sleep Spot, local tavern and watering hole
- Fighting Pits, locals can earn coin by beating the hell out of each other here
- Hauntwood, a swampy forest said to be filled with spirits of the past
- Black Bog, a dense swamp filled with ruins and collapsed buildings
Culture While the denizens of the Marsh Flats may appear to lack a rich history, even out here in the drowning wilds the people have formed their own unique cultural identities. Many of the people who live here are considered monstrous races displaced by civilized societies in other regions. Amphibianfolk, lizardfolk, goblins, orcs, and many others have come to call the Marsh Flats home. Having to adapt to the unique constraints of living in a land perpetually flooded by ocean tides and torrential downpours, many of the locals lack a sense of material possession and mainly trade using bartering for goods that are harder to come by. Foraging and fishing are major contributors to the cuisine found in the Marsh Flats and most travel is done exclusively by rafts and small paddled vessels like canoes and kayaks. Superstitions, folks tales, and ghosts stories are very commonplace and popular amongst the local races, with many tribal religions having a heavy emphasis on shamanism, ancestor worship, and respect for nature spirits. Notable NPC's - The Big Leader, Mayor of Lilicors Village
- Tiny Two Toes, owner of Safe Dry Eat Sleep Spot
- Marv, owner of the Fighting Pits
- The Mud Worms, local gang

King's Valley Located to the south east of Charon sits the King's Valley, a wide spread expanse of valleys, fields, hills, and open plains. This region of the world used to be home to royalty and the kings of the old years before they moved to Sol City. Small villages, castles and keeps dot this land, retelling its history as a hot spot for nobles and politics. However, these are just tales now told around campfires as the wilderness has reclaimed the valley. What once stood as large symbols of civilization are now just ruins and rubble. The valley is now a serene simple land with most people writing it off as a empty quiet land.
However, the valley is just as busy and even sometimes as dangerous as ever. Thunderhoof is the only real settlement that exists, though tribes of horse clans roam the open valley setting up camp wherever their hearts desire. Nomadic groups of hunters, raiders, and ranchers live out in the valley, occasionally returning to Thunderhoof to resupply. The village itself is always bustling with travelers, traders, and merchants, having one of the most exotic markets in the area. Outside of the village wilderness reigns with misty hills to the east, a dense idyllic forest to the west, and the hot drylands to the north. Notable Locations - Thunderhoof Village, settlement and home to many of the clans
- Nomads Stone, a shrine to Ginma and a place of reverence to many of the horse tribes
- Sunshade Glade, a very peaceful and fairy like forest
- Hills of Braddock, rolling hill tops and misty valleys
- Kingswood, old forest said to be the home of ancient royal families
Culture Those who call The King's Valley home are a very nomadic, tribe-like people. They roam in packs or clans, living off the land. They are very family oriented, sticking close to one another and choosing their own over anyone else. Most of the tribes are friendly with each other, trading supplies and coming together every now and then to party and celebrate. Because of their nature, they are a simple people not reliant on much to survive and valuing things like family and friendship over material possessions. This is reflected in how they live their lives. The clothing they wear often comes from the animals they raise such as horses, bulls, buffalo, and other creatures. Their cuisine follows this trend with most of their dishes being comprised of meat from these animals as well has crops found out in the valley. Every couple of months these tribes convene at Thunderhoof Village to trade items, share information, and party. Music, storytelling, and art all play a role in their culture of recording their history and exploits. Ginma is the primary god worshipped here with many of the clans believing they are descended from him.

Zeinav Desert The centermost region of Charon is comprised of almost nothing but desert, how scorching seas of sand that separate the south from the north. After moving through the plains of King's Valley one would be greeted by the intense presence of the sun, massive sand dunes and an unforgiving environment. Apart from a few random roads that cut through this desert, it appears desolate and empty, completely devoid of life and activity. This however is the farthest thing from the truth. Hundreds of ruins and hidden chambers litter the desert, consumed and swallowed by the shifting sands. Bandits, thieves and crazy dangerous wildlife roam these sands, making it a very dangerous place to explore. Most people traveling through the desert stick to the road, and even that can be dangerous at times.
Zeinav City is the golden child of Zeinav, a sprawling city with pyramids, obelisk, palm trees and beautiful ponds. It is the hub for life here in the desert, and has a very large population. While most of the inhabitants of the city are Human, it is not uncommon to see Dwarves, Fellbloods, Dragonfolk, and many other type of creatures native to the desert. The city sits on the coast making it one of the most frequented city, selling and trading goods such as silks, spices and other rare items only found in this part of the world. While the city itself is amazing, offering all kinds of opportunities, there is not much out here for the everyday citizen. Notable Locations - Zeinav City, capital and only city in the desert
- Sultan's Port and Market, huge sprawling market place and dock where business booms
- Dusty Refuge, largest gambling hall in Charon
- The Oasis, a single point of respite among the endless sand
- The White Sand Sea, unforgiving desert filled with ruins of ancient civilizations now buried to time
Culture Citizens of Zeinav are a strong, hardy people, enduring harsh environment. A thriving culture has sprung up from this place, giving the people that call it home their own unique flair and style. Because of the intense heat fashion has taken a lesser is more approach, with light clothing such as fabrics and silks being the go to. This however has not stopped the communities creativity, as bright vibrant colors and interesting patterns have become the mark of fashion in the city. Music and dance is considered a key aspect of life, with many traditions involving the use of performance. They are a friendly people who share their life experiences together, having parties and festivals in the streets monthly. They love their wine in Zeinav, partnering their unique dishes with all kinds of alcohol. While the city is a place of wonder and joy, outside in the sands is a different story. Deadly bandits roam the roads, waiting to ambush unexpecting travelers, while tomb raiders and thieves scour ancient ruins for long lost treasures. Its a hard life out in the desert, driving some to commit unspeakable acts of horror. Notable NPCs

The Ash Lands The Ash Lands is a small region of rocky, mountainous wasteland that is nestled at the base of a volcano and sits wedged between the Zeinav Desert and Dragon's Cradle. Its a very small area, mostly hidden by the mountains that rise up around it and a cloud of constant smoke, soot and ash spewing from the volcano. It's not the most welcoming place, however a city has popped up fairly recently, home to many of the people who scrapped together survival out in the waste. It has a reputation of being a haven for those up to no good, a refuge for those seeking to disappear or even cause a little trouble. Darkveil gets its name because of the constant cloud of ash that sits above it, a blanket covering most of the ash lands. The region outside of the city is barren, devoid of most life and rather dangerous to venture through. Most people avoid it completely when traveling through the desert towards dragons cradle. Notable Locations - Darkveil City, capital and only city in the Ash Lands
- Dancer's Den, local hang out spot and home to the first shadow dancers
- Devil's Ridge, a precarious mountain range that leads from the base up towards the volcano
- Mount Drakolt, a huge volcano that sits on the coast, blanketing the region in smoke
- The Deadwood, a strange dying forest where criminals hide out
Culture Saying the Ash Lands has a culture feels weird to some, but it indeed does have its own way of life. Over the last few hundred years the ash lands were settled by various criminal families looking to escape the eyes of justice. They created Darkveil which became a haven for others hunted by society. Because of this the region has earned a reputation for malice and violence. However those who live here day to day still go about life, adding their own flavor and flair to the city. Constant partying and festivities break out over the city, with drinking and dancing a common place activity. Most things occur indoors due to the looming presence of Mount Drakolt and the cloud of ash, with those remaining outside often getting up to no good. Drug deals, assassins for hire, bandits, thieves and thugs, all common things to see when spending your next vacation in the ash lands.
Notable NPCs - Count Mallock, leader of Darkveil City
- Layla, owner of the Dancer's Den
- Ashen Fathers, leaders of the numerous crime families in the city

Dragon's Cradle Named after the sprawling mountain ranges that enclose this region, Dragon's Cradle is one of the most dangerous and violent natural regions of Charon. Due to its intense weather patterns the entire valley is wrought with storms, including rolling thunder, heavy rain fall and frequent lightning strikes. Moving through this region is rather difficult, especially if one stick to the ground. A large set of mountains outline the region, providing the best route for traveling through dragons cradle. Because of how violent the ground is, many criminals and crime lords use this to their advantage, hiding among the natural disasters.
Even though this region is extremely dangerous, three separate settlements have popped up, making the Cradle Charon's most populated area. Most outsiders consider those who live in Stormgale to be crazy, as the village sits in the open field where the storms are the heaviest. Built into the ground the village boast some of the best visual experiences, and many adventurers come here for the unique experience. The other two villages, Thorock and Sky Peak sit above the clouds, nestled into the mountains. Here they can escape the storm and live rather peaceful lives. Regardless of where you claim home in the Dragon's Cradle, you are bound to have some interesting stories to tell. Notable Locations - Stormgale, village settled in the lightning fields of the Cradle
- Steam Springs, unique springs that claim to have magical properties
- Dragon's Spine, expansive mountain range in the center of the region
- Sky Peak, village at the highest summit of the Dragon's Spine
- Smoky Mountains, mountain range on the coast of the region
- Thorock, massive underground city in the smoky mountains, pirate haven
- The Chipped Pickaxe, famous tavern and inn in Thorock
Culture Culture in the Dragon's Cradle varies from village to village. Because of how dangerous the Cradle is, not many people venture outside of the villages, with only the brave, crazy or foolish wandering too far from safety. The waste are filled with tiny settlements of bandits, villains and those seeking to hide from the world. People traveling through the region may hire locals from Stormgale to guide them through the mountains, with much of their income coming from these guided ventures.
-Stormgale- Stormgale is where the fun is, to live here you have to have a few loose screws in your head. Because of how dangerous it is down here, many of the locals live like its their last day, partying, drinking and just enjoying life. Many of them make their income by guiding and helping adventurers out. Their clothing is very dark and muddled, allowing them to blend in to their environment, and since much of the city is underground they get away with wearing whatever they want, just depending on their mood. On the outside it looks like Stormgale is one massive party, but life is still a struggle here, with many people leaving and moving to safer regions as they get older.
-Sky Peak- Sky Peak is a much tamer, calmer village. The locals are a peaceful people that value strength and harmony, often tapping into nature. Healers, druids, hermits and spiritualist are some of the types of people you can find here. While they are a laid back people, they are also strong, with the majority of the village able to defend themselves when needed. Thanks to their leader, the entire village is trained in some form of combat, but only used when needed. Their forms of expression are much more unique that other villages, with their art and music taking a more religious and simpler approach. They keep to themselves and ignore the larger on goings of the world.
-Thorock- Thorock is a complicated settlement, with the entire village running from the base of a mountain up to its peak, several interconnecting tunnels and pathways forming the majority of the area. The upper portion of the village is lead by a single man, one of power and strength. Here the upper class live, spoiling away in their riches while the lower class lives beneath them. The true leaders of the village however are the courts council, a group of pirates, rebels and smugglers that actually run the village. They work together for the betterment of the working class while the top side of the city ignores them. Piracy and crime are the primary source of income here in the lower section of Thorock, with the coast being a haven for pirates and their crews.

Frost Gale Frost Gale is the northern most tip of Charon and sits opposite Moonglade which sits across the sea. A cold and frigid environment, frost gale is almost completely covered in ice and snow, with dense frosty forest and icy cold mountain ranges. Settled by and given to the dark elves, Frost Gale has become an unforgiving area with most of its population living in one of its two villages. Bleak Fort is a large dwarven city that sits deep in the mountains of the worlds crown, a massive mountain range that extends the upper most portion of the gale. The Pale City is Frost Gale's capital and the third largest city in Charon.
Most people who visit this region do so for business, often coming in and leaving through the port. Its very uncommon for people to travel from Dragon's Cradle, across the tundra and into the city, with the eastern part of the region being very devoid of life and civilization. Because of its extremely harsh weather the locals tend to remain in doors, drinking and warming themselves by the fire. However Frost Gale is a hunters dream, as rare and secluded wildlife can be found inside of its forest and out in the ice fields. Many hunters and trappers make a killing out here collecting rare pelts and animal carcasses. Notable Locations - The Pale City, capital of Frost Gale and third largest city in Charon
- The Winter's Howl, a local tavern where many travelers come to keep warm
- The World Crown, northern mountain range
- Bleak Fort, a large dwarven city under the ground
- Coldwood and Ice Fields, frozen landscape that sits to the east of the region
Culture Life in Frost Gale is pretty simple, you do your best to have a good life and avoid freezing to death. Most locals call one of two villages home, either Bleak Fort or the Pale City. Bleak Fort is made up of primarily dwarves and is a very strict, hardened society. The Pale City however is quite a busy, bustling city, with many people coming in for business or trade. Because of the cold, icy weather most of the regions past time activities take place inside, from drinking to telling stories around a fire. Storytelling is big in this region, with many authors coming from around the world to gather inspiration. The food and clothing often come from local wildlife, hunted by the many rangers, hunters and trappers that frequent this area. Despite it being a pretty somber and depressing area, many people still find ways to have fun and enjoy themselves.

Arid Mesa and the Luna Sea The ocean is vast and mostly unexplored, with the entire ocean surrounding Charon being the Luna sea. The sea itself is rough and dangerous, with many storms forming on the outer reaches of the ocean. There are a few, tiny islands that jut out around the region, but most of these are uninhabited or too small to really matter.
The Arid Mesa however is a large, dusty land mass that sits to the north. Nothing has really been found there and rumor has it giants use to call this island home. Most of the land mass is massive craters, rocky canyons and dry rocky fields. Because of this pirates and smugglers use this island to offload stolen goods or hide out. Notable Locations
- Docking Coast, only real area to safely land on the island
- Giant's Avenue, large expanse of rocky fields and valleys
- Lost Caverns, hundreds of small caves and inlets that go underneath the island
- The Temple of the Fire Keepers, a several thousand year old temple complex built into the central canyon range of the Arid Mesa
Culture There is not really much out here, no real establishments or civilizations have formed other then the Fire Keepers themselves, and the Keepers of the Flame live such segregated lives that they can go decades without being seen or heard from. Those who do live here live very simple minimal lives. The Mesa is pretty unexplored but for the time being not too much goes on here. Notable NPCs
