“YEAH ME NEITHER KIDDO”, Raoul would yell as he zoomed through the room as fast as he could looking for a way out. Finally, after scanning around he found a single solution in the corner. A small platform ledge leading with a tunnel leading to somewhere unknown, it was long and he wasn’t exactly sure that it’d led anywhere but it was the only option that wasn’t falling to the spiked pit.

“Alright, Lycia im going to go towards the platform ledge over there i'm going to swing you towards the platform. I know it’s really scary but I need you to be brave and just stay strong".

He then hovered in the air for a moment and swung her towards the platform. After making sure she made it safely onto the platform Raoul would follow suit crashing towards the platform itself. The two had saved themselves from an untimely death and now had no idea where else to go.

“Alright let’s head through this tunnel”, he’d call out as he pulled the vent cover off with his whip. He then threw it away from them and a loud clinging could be heard as it hit the spiked floor. He dove headfirst towards the vent tunnel pulling himself forward with his arms.

Quest Name: Information Retrieval
Chapter: Two
Description: The information was right there, within reach of you, however it slipped right through as another party managed to nab it. Be it thieves looking to sell it, or cultists trying to figure it out themselves, they somehow got the jump on you. So your new mission is to hunt them down and get the information back. You can go about it however you desire, sneaking into their base while they sleep, or killing them all where they stand. What's important is you get the artifacts, clues or information back to us.
Requirements:
- Requires at least two people (you and one other, the other does not need to be interested in the guild)
- You must make at least 6 posts with each post being 150 words to complete the mission.
- You must locate those who stole the information from you and get it back anyway you like.
- Once you complete this mission you gain entrance into the mages guild.

Lycia was brought back from her distraction by the words of the Dhampir Detective. “W-wait wha-?” she asked over the chaos, and before she knew it was flying now independently through the air, along with the dawg at her side. They both landed with a tumble instead of a spike, which was much to her relief. The landing had knocked her hat off, which she desperately grasped as it fluttered slowly into the pit. The joy of retrieval was quickly followed by the despair of getting out of the way of Raoul, who came quickly crashing behind her.



Crawling through the tunnel was apparently significantly easier for her than Mr. Raoul. Size, she presumed was the obvious answer as Butterscotch also shimmied his way behind her. The oversized hat clung to the walls as they made their way deeper into the complex. A few tight twists and turns in a tunnel made primarily for ventilation instead of adventurers finally led them to another grate.



“H-here, watch out behind you…” She whispered whilst awkwardly maneuvering her weapon off her back and forward. Lycia Poked her coffin nail carefully past Mr. Ardelean and shoved it into the edge of the grate, sending it to the ground outside the tunnel with a loud clatter. "W-what is this place?"

Getting through this tunnel was not the easiest thing, the dhampir wasn’t huge but the tunnel was still very small. However the discomfort wasn’t important, what was important was both getting the valuable Mystical Archive information as well as getting Lycia and Butterscotch out safely. After a few twist turns and very odd tunnel layouts they finally made it towards what seemed to be an escape from the tunnels. He stepped aside to give Lycia the chance to pop the vent cover open, dropping it into the darkness in front of them.

“Uh I’m not exactly sure I know it feels kind of windy in here, let me take a closer look”, Raoul would say peeking further gripping the ends of the cover tightly before a huge burst of wind hit in the face sending him reeling back.

Looking down again he sees a strange green rune on the very distant floor, it certainly was a huge drop if they fell. However, it seemed like the rune was some sort of wind enchantment as it was blowing strong winds above. He glanced above and noticed that there was a nearby platform, if they were able to use the large blast of wind under them they could catch onto the platform and progress further hopefully to the dead wizard’s treasure room.

“Okay well this is going to be very dangerous but I need you to trust me Lycia. That wind can blow us up towards whatever’s up there. I’m not going to let you fall but this is going to be a little scary so just follow after me alright?”.

The dhampir then put on a brave face even though inside he was much more nervous about this idea than he was letting on. He jumped outside the tunnel cover and as it looked like he was about to fall straight down the large burst of air blew him above grabbing his whip he lassoed onto the platform pulling himself up.

“Okay Lycia I did see? Everything was okay and worked out fine. Now I need you to do the same, okay? But this time I’m gonna have my Whip Wand out for you to catch and pull yourself up”.

Lycia looked to the left, and then looked to the right, and then back at Raoul as he said this was going to be a little scary.



“You…you want me to jump?” She muttered as her eyes widened, and the Dhamphir detective delved into the dark. A moment later, his form erupted upwards as she craned her neck to follow, the sound of the whip echoed around the chamber. “I-I’m not so sure about this!” She shouted, clasping the hat to her head as it poked out of the vents hole.



The room itself was oddly intricate for just some large ventilation. Deeply carved sigils in the wall tracing upwards from the green wind rune in the middle. There were also several large magically charged isolation sigils above the rune, as though something were meant to be in the midst of the room. But nothing was there? The containment area was giant, so it’s not like Raoul would have missed it on his way up…



She looked down once more, the wind blasting the sides of her mouth wide open. “H-hey, I think something is supposed to be here! It’s gone!” She shouted, her eyes drifting slowly downwards until meeting with another blue scrying orb directly under the ventilation shaft Lycia was poking out of.



“AH!” She shouted, as the iris of the orb shrunk as though to focus on her. “AAAAHHHHHH” She shouted once more, as the surprise caused her to lose her grip on the edge, and fall into the windy abyss.

Raoul looked Lycia in the eyes giving her as calm and reassuring a look as he could give, calling out to her as she looked up and down, “Yes please Lycia just trust me, I did right now you saw that. Just do the same as I did and you’ll make it up”.

He glanced around the room, noticing the strange and eerie runes that ran across its walls with the large green wind rune in the middle that he used to jump up to the higher platform. Something was missing from here, it was way too big to be just some plain storage room or ventilation area. This had to be the information banks containing Mystical Archive Research or at least it should have been but something or someone moved it. It was strange that was for sure but he decided to put his analysis on the infrastructure on pause putting Lycia’s safety at his full attention. Suddenly something popped out of the wall nearby, a small glowing blue orb most likely scrying the area for the temple. It eyed Lycia and scanned her a faint blue light covering her before it shrank back and merged with the wall. It looks like they have already been caught by the security system of this place. Raoul could only imagine that it’d take only moments for the defense system to get them.

Quickly seeing Lycia fall off the edge Raoul whips his vine whip catching her by the leg and slowly pulling her back up to him.

“Are you okay? Everything alright? Just breathe in and out you made it back, everything's alright. Just keep being strong and we’ll get out of here just fine Lycia. I promise you that I won’t let you die here in this tomb”.

He sighs a heavy breath of relief as the two safely start walking through the tunnel in front of them after a few minutes of walking they make it to the courtyard of the temple. The same scrying orb that Lycia saw only moments ago floated in the middle.

Raoul raised his whip as the orb shook violently before it morphed into a large beast with razor-sharp teeth and a pair of long wings appeared from its back. Its disturbing voice taunted them, “Oh you’re supposed to be the guys here for my treasure huh? Yeah well, I moved that right here so you wouldn’t get it. Though I am a fair mage and I offer you it if you can get past me”.

The panic attack of her fall was significantly soothed by Raouls guidance. His measured tone and soothing technique brought her back to reality as she gulped in air, before jolting to hug him tightly. A few seconds pass, before she pulls herself off, and straightens out her robe awkwardly. “Thanks Mr. Ardelean…”



The orb transformed into a terrifying beast, and the fear crept back into the young girl. Butterscotch barked menacingly as it made it’s offer. “A-alright I guess.” She stutters, pulling a meter long nail out of her robe. It’s metal springs to life, guiding her arm to a fencing posture with it’s movements as Butterscotch leaps at the menacing monster man.



Seemingly completely unfazed at the bite, he lifts into the air, wings beating ferociously against the sand and dives towards the pair of spellunkers. His claws scrape against the ground as the coffin nail jolts into action, barely deflecting it’s wielder against a fatal blow. He lands sideways on the wall behind them, recovering a moment as his large frame prepares to attack once more.



Lycia takes this time to crack open a dark and swirly potion from within her cloak, and down the contents. Dark energy surges throughout her body, and with it bolstering her spirits.

“Alright, you wicked temple guardian, if a battle of worthiness is what you seek from us then I’ll be more than happy to show you. Hang tight Lycia we can do this I know we can, we just have to stay calm and take it motion by motion”, the dhampir would yell out as he pulled his light crossbow from his belt.

Reaching into his pocket he would then notch a bolt into the weapon and point it straight at the monster’s eye.

“Deadshot”, he’d call out as he fired off the crossbow (1) letting it hit the beast’s side as it gave an ungodly roar that even shook the ground under them. In his peripheral vision, Raoul manages to see his young companion pull out a very large nail from her robe, his eyes widening in complete confusion as to how she was able to hide this the whole time. Pushing his questions for after they’re not in immediate danger he watches as the monster tanks Butterscotch’s bite and begins lunging at them.

Quickly thinking, Raoul snaps his fingers and lets his entire body dissolve into a cloud of mist (2) managing to completely phase through the beast’s hands. After a moment he reforms back to his usual flesh and blood appearance and exclaims, “Lycia are you alright? Stay on your toes”, making sure she’s safe before turning his head towards the monster.

The temple guardian gives another large boisterous roar and raises its paws into the air before slamming them down attempting to crush the two adventurers.
