Everett is relieved to see Marion make a quick recovery, even to the point where he lets the young man slip solars into his pockets and he acts none-the-wiser. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't a bit worried about the young man when he started bleeding from the nose. The whole situation hadn't been that dangerous, but Marion's condition was touch and go until he got some rest and food. It's good to see he has such a healthy appetite now.
"I see. Well, I hope your travels are safe and easy."
He looks down into his cup and swirls the amber liquid around in it. Marsh Flats liquor isn't quite to his personal taste. A little too much backwater funk in it for his liking. Though he's not one to complain, especially when someone else is paying for it.
"I'll be headed to Eclipse City. My ship is docked there for repairs. Hopefully, it's all ship shape by the time I return to it."
It's fortunate that they're headed in a similar direction. That said, he wouldn't just invite himself to tag along. Just because he was helpful with the wasp situation doesn't mean Marion would want someone else hovering over his shoulder while he sets out into the world as a new adventurer.
"Would you mind if I tagged along to Stargazer's Village? Eclipse City is further up the coast from there, but it's not terribly out of the way for me."
He is a bit worried about Marrion traveling such a distance even with a caravan. If the young man ran into any real danger, he might not even make it to his next destination. It'd put the half-elf at ease to escort him himself to ensure his safety, at least for a little while longer. He's grown a tiny bit fond of the young man, but he isn't entirely sure why that is himself. There's just something...oddly familiar about all this.

“Oh, I would have to ask first, but I’m sure you will be welcome to join! I also would like to go visit the city, but I like to take my time on the road- I’d probably want to stay at the village and explore the fields! And then there are the bioluminescent forests, I heard there were giant mantises as well! If I didn’t tally around too much, I might be able to catch up with you at the city.”
Musing aloud, Marion took a sip of his own alcohol. He doesn’t drink excessively, but he like to taste the land through it-just like any other food or drink, in fact. Every year’s barley and every year’s yeast have their unique flavour, and it is fun for Marion to try and imagine the weather and the water and the soil of a time he had not seen- not that he is particularly good at wine tasting, but just him finding the little things in life to be incredibly fascinating.
“…Wait, did you just say… ship shape, when talking about your … ship?”
While the pun did not fly completely over his head, it still took him a revisiting of the memory of what is said to catch it. Marion tried to hold back a snicker, but then decided not to because puns are funny! The elf went on to laugh for a solid minute before being able to gather himself.
“Ah, as you were saying… “ Thoughts going back to the whole ship shape business Marion has to stifle further laughter to keep talking. “Ahem. I mean- I mean to say, you have been too kind to me all this way, I do want to help you too in ways I can.”

"Of course," he says with a nod. "I wouldn't want to impose."
He can't help but imagine the look on Marion's face should he ever travel to the further reaches of Charon. How would the elf react to seeing snowcapped mountains to the north for the first time, or the endless sand dunes of Zeinav? What of the flaming volcanoes of the Ash Lands, or the pink flowering trees of the Crescent Isles? There's so much beauty found across the land, he's certain someone like Marion would be in awe of.
"There is a lot of world to see, that is for certain."
Even he hasn't seen all of it yet...maybe he had in the past, but that all lies shrouded in his foggy past.
Everett offers a doofy grin in response to Marion pointing out his cringy attempt at being funny. It's worth it to hear the young man laugh. It's bright and melodic, a far cry from the harsh guffaws he's used to hearing from drunken sailors reeking of sweat and drink.
"Don't worry about it. I feel like it's my duty to help people, gives me some purpose and direction in life."
Something to keep him moving forward despite having no steady foundation to speak of.
When they've finished their meal it's time to turn in for the night. Everett pauses outside of the door of his room and gives Marion a smile.
"Get some rest. Whether we travel together or part ways, you'll have a long day ahead of you tomorrow."
With that said, Everett goes to get some rest himself. With any luck, a new day's dawn would burn just a small piece of the fog away for once.

Bidding each other goodnight, Marion took his time to clean up and tucked himself in with a growing grin- it was like his world is just starting to roll under his feet, and where it will carry him he does not know- but the young elf is not afraid, rather, excited enough to make him flap his ears, when all the prospects and fantasies of what is to come fills his mind. What would he encounter on the sea, and on the distant shores beyond? Would the sea monsters be real? While he did not know marine life as much as he knew land, he is always eager to learn more- everything from algae to the largest leviathans.
At long last Marion fell asleep admit all the excitement, and his dreams were of faraway lands, strange and dangerous and equally beautiful, and being able to explore them- and as he turned out to be the most fortunate little elf on the face of the earth, he have friends that accompanied him there as well, and they are and drank under the stars- unfamiliar ones, but bright and twinkling in their mirth all the same.
