Home. It wasn’t a word that Shaa got to use very often considering his almost constant wandering. But if there was any place in Charon that he considered home, it was King’s Valley. Not only was the place he grew up, albeit in slavery, it was also where his actual home was when he had time to relax. An underground labyrinth of quiet and solitude known only to a handful of people
Despite his comfort walking among the wilds of the nomad tribes and creatures found in the valley, there was one place that he consciously steered clear of, The Fairy Glen. More out of a mutual respect then of fear, Shaa had had more than enough close calls there to fix the message firmly in his brain. Don’t mess with Fea folk. They had strange magics and were usually too small to punch. Not a great combination. So when the Fighters Guild was asked to follow up on a strange knight that had appeared there, he had mixed feelings about it.
On the one hand, there were a lot of weird Fae related things happening all over Charon. This knight showing up was a really strong lead into getting some answers and ultimately a solution to the growing problem. On the other hand, that meant going into the lions den and facing something that they were not prepared for. He had already spent a week as a horse because of this mess and that wasn’t even near the Glade let alone the Glen. What if this whole thing was a trick meant to draw them in? It was a distinct possibility but they had to know either way. The other guilds were involved and there was no way they were bowing out of this, risky or not.
Shaa decided to keep risk at a minimum, a party of two, him and one other. As it happened, Sarne and he had recently finished up another assignment and he was available for the trip. It was funny as he had met Sarne in Kings Valley awhile ago and going back now, seemed like a bit of a home coming.

Sarne was always happy to work with Shaa and sometimes envied him. Not seeing Shaa much sense he took over the Fighters Guild. Being in that area was no coincidence He had to meet with the Duros Family and settle some things and the pledge to the Knights of Duros adding his banner to the cause. Sarne was one step closer to restoring his family status. Shaa asked him to help the information Sarne got was scarce. Since discovering a Knight. In floods of corrupted woodland, Fae has been trying to breach the Glen and get to it. For some reason, these spirits are drawn to there. Groups of Kingswood Spawn and Bogaboo are been seen in the glen and attacking those who get in their way. Shaa asks for help in fending off these beasts. Sarne knew this was not a light matter and a hard task to complete. The two creatures are a deadly pair, combining cunning craftiness with violent brutality. To Defeat two Kingswood Spawn and two Bogaboo who have grouped up before but is still unusual. Sarne looked at Shaa. when they arrived at the Sunshade Glade. "I had heard of this place Sunshade Glade. But have not been in it before." remarked Sarne looking at the Glade. "So how do you want to go in?" asked Sarne with a grin. "Why is it you always pick me for the fun Quests?" said Sarne sarcastically. "Don't forget you still owe me a seafood dinner for the last time I was with you Shaa," said Sarne looking over the land. The Sunshade Glade occupies a very transient part of the valley, some say it's to the south, others say it's a part of the Kingswood thought Sarne. "Is it true once when we get inside Sunshade Glade, you find yourself in a golden hall of permanent autumn?" Sarne asked Shaa wondering if the rumors were true.
Guild: Fighter's Guild Participants: Exactly Two Location: Sunshade Glade Post Requirements: 5 posts per person, 200 words per post Reward: +1 Renown - Anyone +1 Mystical Archive ticket - Guild Member +1 Towards Guild Quest requirements - Guild Member Description: Since uncovering the Desolate Knight, floods of corrupted woodland Fae have been trying to breech the Glen and get to it. For some reason these spirits are drawn to it, and not in a positive way. Groups of Kingswood Spawn and Bogaboo are now pushing into the glen and attacking those to get in their way. The Fighter's guild is asking for help in fending off these creatures, but the battle is not easy. The combination of the two creatures are a deadly pair, mixing cunning trickery with violent savagery. Defeat two Kingswood Spawn and two Bogaboo who have grouped up before they can take the Knight.
Additional Information: There is something off about these creatures, medium sized, blighted thorns grow off of their bodies and they seem to be fervent in getting to the Desolate knight. It appears as some unknown force is driving them. What could it be?

Meh. Shaa gruffs as he looks over the outskirts of the glade. To be honest, I avoid this place as much as possible. We are just as likely to find a face full of arrows as we are some peaceful Glen. The fae folk are tricky to say the least. It’s best not to assume anything where these guys are concerned. As he spoke, Shaa’s fire pixy Vulcana flitted out from behind his horns, a trail of fire trailing behind her. As she flits around making a kind of buzzing noise, Shaa shakes his head. Present company excluded of course. I will always trust you. The little pixy seems to brighten, pleased at the compliment. She does a couple more turns and perches herself on top of Shaa’s wide head.
As for dinner. Shaa points far east towards the hills of Braddock. My house is out that way. It’s close to the sea. Once we are done here, we’ll head out that way and I’ll catch you some giant crabs or something. It’s kind of eat or be eaten when you get this far away from civilization. As they walked, they started finding wooden markers with strange symbols carved into them posted up in the road. See these? The big Minotaur remarks. This means we are coming up close to the actual boarders of the Sunshade Glade. These marks are actually runes. Whatever you do don’t touch them. Imps are known to magically charge the runes to be explosive. You can lose a finger if you are not careful. They would think it was hilarious.
He bends down to examine one of the markers, careful not to touch it. After he examines it, he points to a small path that doesn’t look like it was used much. That’s it, we head down that way. Dusting off his big hands a bit, they start to follow the path. Soon enough, the world behind them disappears and they find themselves in a grove of very old trees.

Shortly, the world behind them vanishes and they find themselves in a grove of very old trees. the trees could have been five hundred or more years old. Sarne looked at one carefully "Shaa, this tree could be as old as my grandfather eight hundred years old or more," commented Sarne looking at the ground now for tracks.
The forest with green, and brown trees. Their branches reaching out. Twigs, fallen leaves, ferns, and underbrush fill the landscape around them. Some trails on the ground were animal trails. The sound of squirrels chattering, leaves rustling, wind whistling through the trees the branches rubbing together. birds singing their song and insects humming. The tree smells fresh but old, wildflowers that dot the ground. Earthy smells of the land mixed with animal scents.
Sarne smiled at the little Pixie then one popped its head out from Sarne's cloak. The pixie flew out and looked at the other Pixie. "Be nice Flare" warned Sarne in a firm tone. Flare is a petite Pixie. With long curly hair topped off with flowers most of the time. Flare like most Pixies likes flowing dresses to wear. Flare's wings have a blue tent to them. Along with her clothing and hair. The best word to describe her is cute. Flare gave a half salute to Sarne. "Ah... Captain I think we are not well this forest is not ah.. normal." Flare said with a worried tone. "It reminds me of home and that worries me." Flare told Sarne now looking at him.
Sarne gave a nod to Flare and then turned to Shaa "Flare can be dramatic sometimes and likes to see new things and travel which makes her fun to have around." said Sarne. [1] Then looked up into the trees "I swear we are being observed. Whatever it is it is elusive." remarked Sarne still looking around. "Are we to meet someone here? or do we just start to hunt the Kingswood Spawn and Bogaboo?" asked Sarne with some concern.

He shook his head. There was the initial party that found the knight but we are the first group back since then. Might run into some of the other guilds or rando adventurers through. No telling in this place. Taking a look around the Glen, he is not sure of the creepy feeling is coming from the area or if it was a different creepy feeling. It was so hard to tell in this place. The sooner that they could be done with this mess, the better.
Have you ever fought a Bogaboo? He asks seriously. I actually fought one recently not too far from here. Turned the thing into a giant popsicle and busted it into a million pieces. Shaa laughed and thought of Keke for a moment. I didn’t think it was all that tough really. Both of these things are more sneaky than anything, I mean, look at those trees. Shaa points to the nearby grove. The Kingswood Spawn look like trees most of the time anyway. They could be sitting there staring at us for all we know. What those guys would be doing hanging out with each other is beyond me, beyond weird. Shaa laughs and picks up a rock from the road. Aiming at a nearby tree, he hurls the rock, plunking it hard against the tree trunk. To his surprise, the tree trunk begins to shift. No friggen way. He says under his breath.
A dark creature pulls away from the tree like a festered bandage. It had skin like tree bark and dark eyes that were fixed on the fighters. Well there you go, speak of the devil. Feel free to take the first crack at it my friend.

Sarne looked up at Shaa. "No, I do not think I have fought a Bogboo. What you did is impressive. I have had to deal with Kingswood Spawns and it did not turn out as I would have liked. But I do not fall for their tricks anymore." replied Sarne with a grin. Sarne paused looking around. "You know they are watching us right now." Commented Sarne.
Sarne watched as Shaa picked up a rock from the trail. threw it at a nearby tree. Sarne knew that was about the right place for the Spawn. The rock struck the tree Sarne rolled his eyes "Really, Shaa" said Sarne with a sarcastic grin.
The spawn creature yanks out from the tree like a piece of its bark. It had skin-like tree bark. Its evil eyes were fixed on Sarne and Shaa. hearing Shaa's comment that Sarne could go first. Share turned to look at Shaa. "Oh.. thanks. But you had to make it angry first," replied Sarne in a joking tone.
[1] Sarne started to change Sarne's blond hair turned to silver color. It shines like metal, His complexion turns tan-colored with a lustrous skin tone. Sarne's eyes change to a piercing gold. An aura of energy begins to radiate from Sarne, filling Sarne and Shaa with hope and strength. Sarne inspires those around him filling them with strength.
Sarne starts to walk towards the Spown. Drowing his sword and reading his shield. Sarne's sword started to glow with gold light as Sarne raised it and pointed his sword at the Spawn. [2] There was a flash of holy light as a beam shot out and hit the Spawn. Burning right through it causing a major wound and burning hole in it. Amber's flew away in the breeze where the hole was. there was nothing that stopped the beam as it dissipated behind the Spawn. The Spawn screamed in pain stepping back from the effect of the light as fire started to consume it.
Another Spawn started to move coming out of the shadows of other nearby trees. It roared with anger as it started to walk toward Sarne and Shaa. Sarne looked at Shaa. "Now look what you did you angered the other one," said Sarne with a smirk.

Shaa shrugs innocently. All I did was throw a rock. You are one burning holes in them. But, because I’m a nice Minotaur, I’ll show you what we do to tree monsters. Shaa starts to take steps towards the newly formed creature and a flash of light engulfs the Glen. When he can see again, both of the spawn had vanished from sight. In their place, was a short man in a nicely tailored brown suit. He was about as high as a dwarf but not as stocky and beardless. He wore a rounded hat and was smoking some sort of long pipe.
Good day to you gentlemen. What brings you here to the fairy Glen? It happens to be quite popular with you mortals as of late. Shaa blinked a couple times to make that he was seeing what he thought he was seeing. After a couple moments came his reply. Ummm hey there. Sorry to bother you. We are just passing through, don’t mind us. The small man’s smile drops a little and he takes a more serious tone. Not to contradict my friend but in 1200 years, no one has ever just “passed through” the Fairy Glen. Reason well before you answer next. This was bad. Little or not, it was these kind of situations that got adventurers stuck in crystals or turned into frogs and such nonsense.
Well, if you want the details, we are from the Fighters Guild. We are here about the mysterious knight who showed up. The little man’s eyes light up a bit again. Ohhh it is about him is it. You are not the only ones to enquire. Very interesting that one. Magic does not work the same on him. If you are hear to deal with it, it’s probably the best. Shaa shifts a bit. Welllll, not exactly. The short man cocks his eyebrows, blowing some smoke into the air. We heard that there are some fell creatures after it and we are here to deal with them. Ahhh a competition is it? Well I don’t want dark creatures around here either so I suppose I can let you pass. But, be warned, don’t take anything, dark creatures excluded, from the Glen. We don’t care for thieves here.
Shaa hears the trees and bushes rustling and noises he didn’t recognize. They were definitely not alone. The man in the suit points down a path leading deeper in. Your knight is down there. Might find your competitors there as well. Shaa blinks and the man has vanished.

After the man vanished Sarne shook his head in disbelief. Then looked down at the ground. Then looked up and surveyed the new Path. Sarne sheathed his sword and hung his shield on his back. Sarne slowly turned to Shaa "So we got a hall pass?" said Sarne cracking a small smile. Sarne looked around and did not see anything that looked impressive to take. "So, we are not to take anything? I have not seen anything I would want anyway, Shaa," stated Sarne to the monitor. Sarne listens to the trees and shrubs moving with the breeze.
Sarne was no fool. There was more Sarne could not see. He could feel it. Things were watching Shaa and Sarne. "I hate being watched," declared Sarne out loud to let whatever was out there know he was not pleased. Sarne's expression shows his disappointment in being played by the man in the glen. Sarne sighed "And now I know why Fea sometimes does not like me." said Sarne joking some.
Sarne started to walk the path. "Hay Shaa, I think if we just stay on the path they set for us we will be ok. I have a feeling people who just wander around get in trouble for the most part stumbling on to stuff they should not. But I am not always right either." suggested Sarne looking to the side of the path and giving a smile like someone or something was there to see it.

The big Minotaur nods in agreement. Yeah. The less we do to try and mess with the…. local folks …that live here, the better. We just need to deal with our friends who are going after the knight for whatever reason. The sooner we deal with the threat and bail, the better. Shaa still couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being watched. At the same time, he didn’t feel threatened so there was that at least.
As they walked along the path, he kept his eyes open for any markers they could use for the return trip. The odd thing was, although the path seemed pretty straightforward, he couldn’t shake the feeling they were taking turns. Having a normally stellar sense of direction, the feeling was making him a bit queasy. He signals for Sarne to stop for a moment. He takes a beat and checks his enchanted tattoo on his forearm. The true north tattoo, a handy purchase from a certain notorious merchant, always pointed north. If Shaa ever got turned around, it was a nice cheat to get his bearings with. To his surprise, upon checking his directions, the tattoo had been replaced with a clown blowing raspberries at him. Nice. He grumbled under his breath. They were playing by the fairies rules and they had apparently thought of everything.
They soon reach a clearing with stone columns and the ruins of some sort of old building. Plants were growing in and out of the debris with the occasional small animal. Whatever the building was had fallen into disrepair a long time ago. Nature had quietly reclaimed its bones and relegated its mysterious history to the shadows of time long forgotten. Near a small plaza, sat a mysterious suit of armor that looked about as old as the ruins themselves. Was this what all the fuss was about?

Sarne entered the clearing with Shaa walked a few more steps and stopped. Sarne looked over the stone columns coming out of the round and rising higher than himself or even Shaa. Vines and shrubs sprouted out of the rubble of the fallen building. This place was ancient from what Sarne could tell. This small plaza that Shaa and Sarne were in had a mysterious history lost to forgotten Time. A suit of armor that looked about as old as the ruins themselves.
A red squirrel had a slender body with a very long very bushy tail and large eyes. Its fur looked soft and silky, though much thicker in some ways than others. It stood on some rubble and looked at Sarne and Shaa while eating. "Well, an audience I did not expect that," Sarne joked sarcastically with a grin.
"Maybe he is the knight we are looking for. This does look like a knightly place." Sarne stated as he got closer to the armor. A hue fell on the armor and it started to move and float moving in a circular pattern. Sarne backed up placing his hand on his sword. The armor started to form a ghostly being. It all came together forming a knight. It looked that way thought Sarne.

Shaa looked at the spectral knight as it started to take form. It waved around jumping and lurching. Eventually the armor falls back down again lifeless. Well, that was fun. Shaa remarks with a bit of snark. Let’s not touch the thing until we deal with… As he spoke, a loud hissing sound comes from the forest. Two dark creature slink into the clearing. The Minotaur recognizes both of them but is appalled , even more than usual, at their appearance.
The first creature to emerge was a Kingswood Spawn to be sure but it was wrong, dark. The normally forest looking being looked like more of a dead rotted tree than anything. It was almost sad watching it move. It wouldn’t be truly pathetic if it wasn’t so horrifying. Shaa did not feel the same about what was trailing behind him. True to the rumors, a Bogaboo was slithering behind him like a serpent. Bogaboos were not pretty creatures anyway but this one was right up there with something out of a nightmare. It was still unclear what was up with this knight but whatever these things had planned for it, couldn’t be good.
Shaa yells at the Bogaboo. Stop right there freaky, that’s close enough. The Bogaboo growls lowly. And what are you going to do to stop us meat bag?
