Post by Shaylee, Forest Faerie on Feb 16, 2024 10:25:36 GMT -5
The Sunshade Glade was beautiful! An eternal autumn frozen in time amongst a mystical forest. The towering trees amongst the hilly valley made for one of the most stunning things that Shaylee had seen... at least from this realm.
Hailing from the realm of wonder brought it's own benefits and challenges, namely a bit of the realm's insanity rubbing off on those who came from it. Shaylee certainly was no exception. The wild look of fascination in her eyes directed at some of the simplest things that others would look over gave it away. She stares at leaves on the ground, simple rocks, the trees, and wildlife. Oh, the poor wildlife. In a place as silent as this, they probably didn't expect a 2 foot tall faerie to snatch them up for inspection. The rabbit certainly didn't, given how it froze and stared her down with a certain look in its eye. Oddly, it relaxed rather quickly. Something about her aura just seemed to put it to ease. As she places the bunny down, something catches her eye. A glint of light. A moving glint of light. A person! In armor! Curious!
Her massive, leafy wings flutter with excitement and launch her upwards and towards the rather handsome young man wearing a knightly set of armor. She zips around him in a circle, inspecting him and taking note of his appearance. Not one for personal space, she decides to land on his shoulders. She was surprisingly light.
"Is this the fabled human I hear so much about? The species with the power to shape land at their will? I've seen a few pass by, but never one enter the forest in which I live!" Suddenly, she gasps and launches off of him to face him, floating in mid-air. "You better not reshape this land! I... I have no way to stop you now, but I promise I will find one!"

A bright smile showed on Ezra’s face as he walked through the brightly colored forest in awe. As he walked, he couldn’t help but feel that this forest reminded him of home. The bamboo forest there had its own unique aspect to it, but this place was amazing. He admired the many different shades of reds and yellows that splayed out before him as he walked. The crunch of leaves beneath his neat leather boots was almost comforting. He was glad to have taken the detour away from his destination.
Suddenly, the swift buzzing of wings could be heard. Before Ezra could even react, a two-foot tall fairy was circling around him. He attempted to follow with his eyes, but as she whipped around him, he did not spin to follow her. Strands of his messy brown hair blew from the breeze from her wings combined with the swift turning of Ezra’s head in an effort to follow her movements. He braced himself as she landed on his shoulder, but as she landed, Ezra noted that she was extremely light.
“Is this the fabled human I hear so much about? The species with the power to shape land at their will? I’ve seen a few pass by, but never one enter the forest in which I live!”
Just as soon as she landed on his shoulder and spouted out this statement, she lifted off again and hovered directly in front of his face. Surprised by the actions that were taking place, Ezra’s eyes were wide and his mouth was open in a look of shock. His feet were still planted in place, but he bent backward with his torso away from Shaylee and his arms were up at his sides.
“You better not reshape this land! I… I have no way to stop you now, but I promise I will find one!”
Ezra relaxed a bit as he heard the words. Was this little fairy… afraid?
“I…” Where to even begin? Ezra thought to himself before continuing aloud, “I’m not fabled. I’m barely anyone at all. I don’t know about any power to reshape the land, but I promise, I’m not here to cause any trouble.”
Ezra’s face relaxed a bit into a sort of nervous smile. He kept his posture the same, but turned his hands to show Shaylee his empty palms. “I- I’m Ezra.” He nervously managed to get out.
