Quest Name: Escorting Goods Participants: Requires exactly two people (you and one other, if the other participant does not qualify, they will not gain the reward) Location: Anywhere (Can be repeated for a different region) Post Requirements: 5 post per person, 200 words per post Reward: +10 Security for selected Region (+10 more if your home region) Description: Your region needs you to help escort a caravan of supplies and goods into the city. These goods will help the region continue to survive, using these materials to build better infrastructures, feed the region and build its moral. You must guard the caravan and bring it home, defending it from any enemies or wild creatures and keeping the travelers alive. You can be creative with how and if the caravan comes under fire as long as the requirements are completed and the supplies make it to the village.
Very precious cargo was being moved from King's Valley into the Marsh Flats, cargo that Tatalia knew would be critical for the expansion of food production options in the region. Chickens.
Sure, chickens weren't exactly a rare and expensive thing, but they were very rare in the marshes. And yet the critters had been bred for generations upon generations to provide ample supplies of meat and eggs! Their bones, too, were useful, providing marrow that could be sucked, or they could be added to a soup for flavor. Their dung could be used for fertilizer; their feathers could be used to make ink pens (if cheap ones); and they were relatively docile and easy to breed. Sure, the swamp wasn't the perfect place to raise chickens, but Tatalia couldn't think of any non-native livestock that would work better than chickens!
And so when Tatalia heard that a merchant was bringing not one but two whole wagonloads of chickens to the Marsh Flats, well... she offered her help as a caravan guard. It wasn't her usual line of work, but she'd done it once or twice before. It was easy money, and Tatalia could help ensure that the very precious cargo made it to Lilicors village. She saw it as a win-win!
Of course, there were other reasons to escort the caravan. Tatalia had cargo of her own to bring along. Nothing special, of course; nothing too outlandish. Why would she have anything like that? Still, the supplies were heavy, and having an actual caravan to carry it was convenient since she couldn't easily fit it all through a door. With a wagon of her own stuffed to the brim with spare building materials (including wire for building fenced in chicken coops!), Tatalia knew she was going to do a lot of good for her society.
There was one other perk to the journey, too. Someone else was traveling westward with Tatalia as a caravan guard...
"I can't wait for you to see what the Marsh Flats are really like!" Tatalia told Katsandra happily, sighing as they marched alongside the caravan's wagons. There were half a dozen others traveling with them with four wagons altogether, and the pace was slow, but Tatalia didn't mind. "I know people say awful things about this place, but it's absolutely beautiful at night! I mean... not to look at, but that's when you can hear what I like to call the 'Swamp Song.'"
Tatalia grinned from ear to ear. She was dying for the other woman to ask her what the Swamp Song was!
As the feline demi-human, Katsandra, stared intensely at the chickens clucking restlessly in the caravan, her growling stomach and drool dripping down her mouth were clear signs of her prolonged hunger. It had been a long while since she last had a proper meal, and the aroma of the succulent chickens was becoming unbearable. Her primal instincts were starting to take over, as she contemplated jumping at the caravan and grabbing at least one chicken to satisfy her hunger. However, just as Katsandra was about to succumb to her desperation, she suddenly heard the faint but distinct voice of the little goblin speaking.
The sound of the goblin's voice acted as an unexpected interruption, jolting the feline out of her animalistic trance. It was as if the goblin's words had pierced through the hunger-induced haze, causing Katsandra to regain her composure. She knew she had to remain calm and composed, masking her famished state and suppressing her ravenous instincts. Despite her attempt to appear unfazed, a slight blush tinted Katsandra's cheeks, betraying her true feelings of hunger and desire.
"Swamp Song? Sounds cool!" Katsandra leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Her feline ears twitched slightly as she imagined the haunting melody of the song echoing through the dense marshlands. "Is it like a spooky ghost melody that makes the trees whisper secrets at night?" she playfully teased, her wide grin mirroring Tatalia's.
Katsandra had always been drawn to enchanting tales and captivating mysteries, but eerie or claustrophobic environments were not typically her cup of tea. Her adventurous spirit craved open spaces and the freedom of exploration. Therefore, being confined to the wagon for days on end was far from her definition of fun. However, in the presence of Tatalia's infectious enthusiasm and the tantalizing promise of this mysterious swamp symphony, a surge of anticipation coursed through Katsandra's veins.

"Ghosts?" repeated Tatalia, blinking briefly before letting out a light laugh. "Oh, no-no-no, no ghosts to speak of! The Swamp Song is certainly a melody, and the trees do tend to get quite talkative, but... no!
"The Swamp Song is the natural voice of the marsh," Tatalia explained, throwing her arms up into the air for a lazy stretch before folding them behind her head. "You hear it best at night. The frogs, the toads, the beasts and bugs of the night, the rolling of water and the musings of windswept trees... those are the players in the Swamp Song's orchestra." The goblin cracked a crooked, toothy grin out the side of her mouth at Katsandra. "You'll understand after nightfall, I promise! There's no place that's more alive than the Marsh Flats beneath a crescent moon.
"And anyway, the ghosts only come out sometimes," Tatalia added in the most alarmingly offhanded way possible. "And they barely kill anyone at all!"
That last bit about ghosts was a lie, of course. However, Tatalia was an incredibly convincing liar,1 and she really just wanted to give the poor demihuman a little bit of a scare. The cheeky little goblin decided not to elaborate further on any possible ghost stories, letting Katsandra envision whatever indescribable horrors she wished.
There was something more pressing, anyway. Tatalia couldn't help but notice how famished the poor feline looked, how hungrily she'd been eyeing the chickens. Deciding that some immediate action was needed, the ever prepared adventurer reached into a satchel on her belt and removed a bottle from inside... which was filled with soup.2
"Why don't you have something to eat?" Tatalia suggested, holding the bottle out to the other woman. "It'll fill you up and go down easy! The recipe's a little known secret, so don't ask for it, but I promise you it's filled with only the good stuff!"
As Tatalia was handing the food over, she paused. Her keen senses3 picked up... a snapping twig. She glanced to her own cargo, glanced to the chickens, then quietly rested her hand over her sheathed sword.
"Do you hear that?"

"Wow, that sounds absolutely amazing!" Katsandra exclaimed, her eyes widening with genuine interest at Tatalia's description of the mysterious symphony that echoed through the Marsh Flats. As she listened, a sense of wonder filled her, completely captivating her thoughts. She had never heard of such a phenomenon before, where nature itself transformed into a harmonious melody under the pale glow of the moon. The very idea of it was fascinating and she couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation for the night to come, despite her muscle headed attitude, she has plenty of soft spots especially for nature and its wonders.
In her mind, she could almost visualize the enchanting orchestra of the Swamp Song, picturing various creatures contributing their unique sounds to the melodic tapestry. Being from Crescent Isles, where most creatures were either edible or out to kill her, this revelation was truly awe-inspiring. It made her realize how much there was to discover about the world, even outside the constant danger she faced. It was a reminder that one could always learn something new every day.
"I'm excited!" Katsandra declared, her voice filled with excitement and wonder. The magical ambiance of the Marsh Flats, with its mysterious symphony, evoked a sense of enchantment in her. She imagined herself surrounded by the lush, dark marshland, the soothing melodies floating through the air, as if emanating from hidden nooks and crannies. It was an almost otherworldly experience that she couldn't wait to embrace and... "Don't worry, I've tried punching ghosts plenty of times" she said with a smile on her face, it seems she was serious.
As Tatalia extended the bottle of warm soup to her, Katsandra's gratitude was evident in the depths of her eyes, tears and puppy kitty eyes formed. "Thank you..." For a moment, her hunger was forgotten, overtaken by the anticipation of the night ahead. Yet, as she held the bottle tightly, ready to quell her rumbling stomach, a sudden sound shattered the calm. SNAP! Her feline instincts took over as her ears twitched in alertness. Although she was momentarily sidetracked by the captivating conversation, she was always attuned to her surroundings. "Do you hear that? Jinx-" Katsandra questioned at the same time Tatalia did, her voice filled with curiosity and a hint of caution. She scanned her surroundings, a small magical ball of lightning forming in the palm of her hand, ready to defend herself if needed, but at the same time she just wants to taze whoever messed with her long awaited meal.

Tatalia nodded toward Katsandra, then stepped a few feet away from the wagon. She drew her sword from its scabbard and glanced to the nearest caravan guard, a lanky lizardman.
"There's something coming," she warned the brown scaled man. The lizardman grew very alert very suddenly, and he turned toward the rest of the caravan and started making gestures to alert others to keep an eye out. Humans, lizards, goblins, and orcs quietly grabbed their weapons. They were prepared to face whatever bandits or wild animals were about to attack.
The caravan guards were not prepared to face an honest to the Gods monster.
What was once just the sound of a twig snapping became a crash, then a splash and another crash. Tatalia grew very worried very quickly. She decided that trees would offer no protection based on how loud those crashes were, and so took cover behind a large boulder in the marsh, taking quick breaths that grew all the quicker as she waited for whatever horrible thing was about to come.
And then the monster broke through the trees, roaring at the top of its lungs.
"BALOTH!" one of the caravan guards shouted, stumbling backward and raising his spear just in time to get smashed to pulp by one stomp of the furious monster's huge paws.
Baloth, repeated Tatalia in her head, sucking in a deep breath. She knew what those monsters were capable of. They were huge, powerful, and had hides as tough as a dragon's. The brutes were highly aggressive, highly territorial, and voraciously hungry. Their size didn't slow them down at all, either; they had almost cat-like speed and reflexes.
But it was strange! Baloths normally stuck to either the Moon Glade or King's Valley. They weren't too far from the border, but it should've avoided the swamp unless it thought there was... something... it wanted... to eat...
The monster was stomping towards the chickens! Of course! It must've been attracted by the clucking and the smell of the noisy chickens! They were letting out terrified shrieks and clucks as the Baloth got closer and closer...
"Oh, no you do NOT!" shouted Tatalia, reaching toward the Baloth with a hand outstretched. She didn't know much magic that was useful in a fight, but she knew one spell that could get its attention!
The goblin pointed two fingers at the creature and whispered the words she'd read from the old tome. Her normally yellow eyes turned black for a moment as she gathered the raw energy of the darkness around her to her fingertips. An arc of black lightning swept through the air in an arcing, scythe-like shape and zapped straight into the side of the beast's face.
The Baloth stopped in its tracks. A low rumble rose in its throat. Then it turned toward Tatalia, very angry but mostly unharmed.
"Oh, dear," the goblin squeaked. She readied her sword and prepared to use a few tricks.
Katsandra, a skilled martial artist, swiftly threw her cloak to the side, revealing the vibrant orange and blue gi that she frequently donned during her training sessions. As she admired her attire, she couldn't help but contemplate whether it was time to invest in a new set, considering the wear and tear that her current ones had endured. Lost in this thought, she absentmindedly conjured another sphere of magical energy, this time emanating from her left hand. However, instead of the crackling lightning that usually accompanied her powers, water materialized within the sphere. Her feline instincts immediately heightened as the monstrous presence made its way through the dense foliage, sending a bone-chilling roar that echoed through the surrounding trees.
The guards, with sheer panic evident in their voices, cried out "BALOTH!" This resonated with Katsandra, as she had studied the tales and folklore surrounding this formidable creature. It was notorious for its lack of weaknesses, a true force of nature that struck fear into the hearts of even the bravest warriors. Analyzing their current location and the specific cargo they were transporting; it became apparent to Katsandra why the monster had targeted them. A wistful thought escaped her lips, "I knew I should have just devoured those chickens."
Taking advantage of the brief diversion Tatalia had created, Katsandra skillfully combined her spheres of water and lightning, expertly manipulating the elements to form a dazzling blue orb surrounded by vivid sparks of yellow electricity. With unrivaled determination, she unleashed a powerful attack, exclaiming "FINAL KAMEHAMEHA!" The electrified water beam surged forth, striking the monstrosity head-on and forcefully propelling it backward. Though the impact yielded a surge of electrifying pain, it was evident that the creature remained mostly unaffected, a testament to its formidable resilience.
"...Shit"

While Katsandra blasted the creature with another magical attack, doing little more than shove it a bit and make it even angrier - still about as much as Tatalia had accomplished with her own attack! - the goblin devised a plan. But to follow through with the plan, she needed...
"Distraction!" Tatalia cried out. She grinned wildly back at martial artist. "Katsandra, I need you to play some cat and mouse with the Baloth! You're the mouse. Ironic, but just keep it busy!"
Yes, Tatalia had just asked Katsandra to keep the Baloth busy, a totally very normal and easy task to do, while she started cooking up a spicy concoction for the beast. Literally!
See, Tatalia had figured out the problem with fighting the Baloth. Its outer shell was just too durable to pierce, and being anywhere near its mouth for an extended period of time meant being turned into a pile of mush in about three seconds flat. To beat it, Tatalia had to strike the creature from the inside, and she'd need to make any attack from that position count. So, what better tool for the job than a bomb she could hurl down the creature's throat?
The crazed inventor got to work. She had everything she needed! Gunpowder for explosive power; powdered capsaicin for the raw essence of spice; and powdered glass because there wasn't much in the world that was more irritating to the senses and the throat than minuscule shards of glass in all the wrong places. Yes, those would do! The goblin dumped all those awful, terrible things into one pouch, then tied it off with a little bit of spidersilk from her wrist. Done!1
"Katsandra!" Tatalia shouted. "I need you to get its mouth open! And the moment I give the order, I need you to shoot the inside of the Baloth's mouth with fire! Do you understand?!"

Katsandra's feline eyes narrowed as she processed Tatalia's plan. The audacity of the goblin's idea both intrigued and concerned her, but there was no denying the urgency of the situation. With a confident nod, she replied, "Got it, Tatalia! I'll dance around this Baloth like a true cat, keeping its attention squarely on me. Just give the word, and I'll make sure its mouth is wide open for your... fiery surprise."
With agile grace, Katsandra leaped towards the monstrous creature, her vibrant gi fluttering in the air as she executed a series of acrobatic maneuvers. The Baloth's attention shifted entirely to the swift martial artist, its massive form lumbering after her. Katsandra taunted and teased the creature, using her mastery of martial arts to stay just out of reach, ensuring its focus remained fixated on her.
As the Baloth roared in frustration, Katsandra stole a moment to glance back at Tatalia, ready to execute the plan the instant the goblin signaled. Creating a ball of concentrated magical energy of ice in her hand, she felt the power surging through her fingertips as she aimed for the monster's face. With practiced precision, she let the icy beam soar and crackle through the air, trailing thin wisps of frost. The Baloth, driven by its insatiable hunger, opened its massive mouth wide, revealing rows of sharp, glistening teeth.
"SUBSIDENCE KAMEHAMEHAAAH!!!"
With a resounding impact, the beam of ice magic collided with the Baloth's face, causing the beast to convulse in a mix of pain and surprise. Frost spread across its snarling visage, freezing the drool that had previously dripped from its menacing jaws. As the Baloth's jaws remained locked open.
The Baloth, now hindered by the icy obstruction, struggled to close its mouth and regain its lost advantage. Katsandra evaded its increasingly sluggish and predictable attacks, her lithe form moving effortlessly between limbs and dodging its powerful swipes. Each movement she made taunted the monster further, pushing it to its limits of frustration.
"NOW!"

With the Baloth held in place by Katsandra's icy magic, its jaw not quite able to shut, Tatalia knew it was time to make the finishing move. She only really had one shot, for the monster was slowly starting to break free of the frost that hindered it. Raw anger alone was giving it the strength to push through.
Tatalia rushed past the cover of trees and the various caravan guards that were warily pointing their spears and bows at the monster. She rolled to the side to avoid a fleeing pack mule and hopped straight up to catch onto a high tree limb and clamber atop it.1 Then the goblin assessed the distance between herself and her target, did a few calculations in her head, and decided the odds seemed good. If she could get her scrap bomb into the creature's mouth - and she could - a well timed fire blast would create a powerful enough explosion to split its head open and end the Baloth threat!
There wasn't much else to do, then. With her improvised demolitions in hand, Tatalia leapt off the tree branch, hurdling through the air toward the creature's mouth.
it was a fast descent, and Tatalia had to time everything perfectly or else she'd be part of the beast's snack. She drew her shortsword with one hand while hurling the bag toward the creature's mouth with the other. Seconds seemed to pass like an eternity as the pouch traveled in a precise arc, flipping through the air a dozen times as it soared into the Baloth's mouth... and then Tatalia used the magic of her sword to shift her own direction at the very last second, sprawling out onto the dirt path in an undignified heap.2
"NOW!" Tatalia shouted at the top of her lungs, giving Katandra the signal to blast fiery magic into the creature's mouth. The goblin rolled over onto her stomach and covered her ears, quietly praying to any deific entities that might exist to let the plan work.
Katsandra, with her feline agility and supernatural grace, continued to dance around the Baloth, effortlessly avoiding its massive claws and razor-sharp teeth. The icy obstruction on its face had slowed down the creature's movements, providing Katsandra with a brief advantage. However, she knew that time was running out, and she needed to finish the battle swiftly.
In the midst of the chaotic battle, Tatalia's signal reached Katsandra's ears like a melodic whisper. It was the signal she had been waiting for - the indication that the moment had come to unleash an attack that would surpass any she had ever used before. "IT'S SHOW TIME!"
As the Baloth struggled to close its frosted jaws, the bomb positioned precariously within its mouth, Katsandra's eyes intensified with determination. "Infini Martial Arts First Form:" With a resounding crack, she launched a bone-shattering fist with a silhouette of a Japanese Dragon appearing with Katsandra in between, the punch, sent towards the monster's face, causing it to hurl backwards through the air. In that single moment, Katsandra's extraordinary physical martial abilities were revealed. "DRAGON FIST"
In the blink of an eye, Katsandra soared effortlessly through the air, her body twisting and turning with unparalleled grace. As she landed, a soft glow emanated from her hands, forming two separate spheres. One sphere emitted flames that burned with a ferocious intensity, while the other crackled with electric energy.
With a carefully calculated movement, she seamlessly merged the two spheres together, allowing the flames and volts to intertwine in a dazzling display of power. The resulting sphere pulsated with an otherworldly energy, casting a mesmerizing yellow and red glow across the battlefield. The intense heat radiated from its core, warming Katsandra's hands as she held it firmly, ready to unleash its devastating force upon her formidable opponent.
Meanwhile, trapped in the icy grip, the Baloth roared in frustration, its massive frame quivering against the magical cold. It could sense danger approaching, but it was powerless to escape its icy prison. Simultaneously, it charged towards Katsandra in an act of desperate retaliation, completely unaware of the force that was preparing to be unleashed upon it.
Summoning every ounce of her determination, Katsandra let out a resolute battle cry that echoed through the battlefield. "FINAL FLASH!!!" she called out. In an instant, she thrust the massive beam of pure magical energy towards the Baloth's gaping jaws. The attack sliced through the air with blinding speed, leaving behind a mesmerizing trail of swirling flames and dazzling sparks of electricity. With pinpoint accuracy, the attack entered the beast's mouth and made contact with the scrap bomb, triggering a cascading chain of explosive reactions that combined the destructive forces of fire and lightning.
The ground shook beneath their feet as a wave of heat and deafening explosions engulfed the area. The Baloth, caught in the crossfire of the fiery inferno and electrifying bolts, let out a thunderous roar that pierced through the chaos. Its gargantuan form trembled under the onslaught of the combined onslaught, as the force of the explosion sent shockwaves reverberating through the battlefield, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Detritus slowly settled upon the ground in the wake of the explosions. Burning leaves floated through the air, pollen and dust drifted in shimmering light, and a single tree collapsed with a groan before splashing into the muck. The whole of the swamp went silent then: no more roaring, no more screaming, no more frantic twangs of bows or the whiff of thrown spears in the air... A few tentative croaks and chirps sounded from the woods as the creatures of the wilderness slowly regained their confidence. The Baloth had been slain.
The brutalized corpse of the Baloth shuddered, still twitching from the electric punishment it had been delivered. The creature's insides were utterly shredded by the punishment it had received. And as it lay there, it smoke rose from it, and it produced a... surprisingly delectable smell? Why, it smelled almost like- it really did seem like-
One of the caravan guards sawed off a piece of the creature's tough meat with his sword and took a taste. He smacked his lizard lips and grinned at the crowd.
"Tastes like chicken!" the lizardman declared.
Tatalia sighed with relief. She had been ready to fend off people from attacking the actual chickens in the aftermath of the battle, but given how many hungry gazes were suddenly turned on the Baloth, she decided that was unlikely. And while everyone was distracted, the goblin checked on her cart, inspected everything inside... and, yes, it was all still there, exactly as it needed to be.
It was doubtful the group would have to fight anything further on the way to Lilicors village where they'd drop off the chickens, and from there it'd be a relatively easy trek to the Moon Glade. Easy as stone soup.
The goblin glanced over at the caravan guards partaking in battlefield cooked Baloth, and she smiled a little to herself.
"You won't find anything this exciting in high society," she muttered idly to herself, chuckling as she relaxed against her wagon. "A good workout with dinner and a show! How wonderful."
As the chain of explosions, fire, and sparks of electricity start to die down, the once bustling cityscape has been reduced to a desolate wasteland of ruins and debris. However, amidst the destruction, there is a sense of relief knowing that the Baloth, the menacing creature responsible for the chaos, has finally been taken down.
Katsandra, the weary feline magic martial artist, stands amidst the devastation, her body trembling from the exhaustion of the fierce battle. Despite her fatigue, she remains upright, panting heavily as she gazes at the grotesque sight of the smoking monster corpse. As she leans against a crumbling wall, Katsandra's senses are suddenly awakened by the wafting scent of the cooked beast. Her nostrils twitch involuntarily, causing her to perk up with curiosity.
Turning her attention towards the Lizardman, who has declared that the monster's flesh tastes like chicken, Katsandra's mouth waters, and a surge of hunger overtakes her. With renewed vigor, she dashes towards the charred remains of the fallen Baloth, eager to sate her hunger. Ripping into the delectable meat with her sharp claws, Katsandra relishes the satisfying crunch as she devours the succulent flesh. Each bite is a bittersweet reminder of how long she has gone without a proper meal. The tears that trickle down her cheeks are a mix of exhaustion and gratitude for finally having the opportunity to feast.
After a frenzied feast that lasted mere minutes, Katsandra has consumed more than half of the entire beast. All that remains are the discarded bones, scattered amidst the remnants of a once vibrant city. Overwhelmed with a mixture of delight and relief, the feline gently touches her now distended belly, feeling a warm contentment wash over her.
"Haah~ That was truly amazing," Katsandra sighs, her fatigue slowly dissipating as she settles down beside her loyal friend, a goblin engineer who had supported her throughout the intense battle and its aftermath.
"I hope that with the defeat of the Baloth, things will finally begin to go smoothly," She muses aloud to her green-skinned companion, a hopeful glimmer in her eyes. "I really cannot wait to witness and experience the Swamp Song you mentioned. It sounds enchanting and soothing..."
Katsandra's giggle punctuates her words, a genuine smile gracing her face as she looks at her friend.

Tatalia, for her part, just used the time to rest, relax, and have a long drink of water from her hip flash. Honestly, she didn't want to move a single muscle for the next ten minutes. Fighting a Baloth had not exactly been an item on her bucket list, and she was just glad to have had an ally to help her execute the beast before more people got hurt.
The little scholar-thief-engineer-tracker-whatever-the-heck smiled politely up at Katsandra as her feline friend came forward to talk to her. The goblin slid down from her lean against the wagon to just sitting on the worn road itself, getting a little mud on her pants as she did so. Really, though, she didn't care about that at the moment. She was just glad to have somewhere to sit.
"You'll be able to listen to the Swamp Song tonight, I promise," Tatalia replied, cracking a lopsided grin at Katsandra. "Actually, I was thinking about that, and how long you might be staying in Lilicors village. Would you...?"
Tatalia reached into her jacket and pulled out- a card? She flashed it at Katsandra. It read Sit Learn Lots Place.
"Would you mind coming to my school tomorrow morning and teaching a class, perhaps?" Tatalia asked eagerly. "I want to segueway from continental geography to the cultures of Charon, and I think you'd make a marvelous candidate to discuss the culture of the Crescent Isle!"
What? Tatalia was a big nerd. Of course that was the sort of thing that was on her mind!
"I'll be looking forward to it!" Katsandra, with her heart brimming with excitement at the prospect of hearing the mesmerizing Swamp Song tonight, eagerly settled herself down next to Tatalia. In a graceful motion, she conjured up a shimmering sphere of water using her innate magical abilities, taking a refreshing sip before focusing her attention on Tatalia's intriguing question. Deep in thought, she lightly tapped a slender finger against her chin, contemplating the possibilities.
"Hmmm... Perhaps as long as I want?" she pondered aloud, a note of curiosity lacing her words. The truth was, Katsandra didn't have any pressing obligations or specific destinations in mind. With a hint of wistfulness in her voice, she continued, "I don't really have anywhere else to go."
Just as her words hung in the air, Tatalia unveiled a small card bearing the words "Sit Learn Lots Place." The sight of it instantly sparked amusement and fascination in Katsandra, causing her to giggle and break into an enchanting smile. The goblin girl's unique combination of engineering skills, scholarly knowledge, and magical prowess had always captivated Katsandra's interest.
With genuine enthusiasm radiating from her, Katsandra enthusiastically responded, "I would love to!" Her eyes gleamed with anticipation. However, she couldn't help but add with a touch of mischief, "Although, I'll be teaching more than just culture..." her inner weeb was tingling.

Tatalia snorted out a laugh, rubbing her forehead and standing up. She fired off one of those signature lopsided grins of hers at the beastperson.
"They're not at my school to learn how to fight, Katsandra!" she protested. "They're there to learn other things! Arithmetic, science, history, writing, secondary languages... Trust me, they'll get plenty of chances to learn magic or martial combat outside the school! Not everything has to be about magical martial arts, you know!"
Nevertheless, Tatalia wasn't upset by Katsandra's eagerness. She was anything but, in fact! The grin she wore just grew in size, and she shook her head again before slapping her cart.
"Just take a seat! You can ride the rest of the way to my school, you crazy cat," she told Katsandra with mock frustration. It was in jest, of course. "I'm surprised you can move at all eating what must've been half the Baloth. I don't actually know how you fit that all inside you, even! Is your stomach a portal of some kind?"
Her grin faded to a sincere smile, and Tatalia glanced off toward her home in the far distance.
"Anyway," she added quietly, "it'll be nice to have a guest for a little while. You can stay in the guest room until you find where you're going, yes."
