Flint settled onto a bench in the bustling preparation room, methodically winding white bindings around his hands, extending down to his mid-forearm. The ritual seemed a bit redundant to him, but the event organizers insisted that even unarmed contenders comply. The cowboy couldn't help but chuckle at the irony, fully aware that these meticulously wrapped hands would soon be scorched in the heat of battle due to his abilities. Nevertheless, he tightened the cloth with a sly smile, intending to make a favorable impression on the discerning judges of the Fighter's Guild.
As he awaited his turn, Flint honed his skills on a practice dummy, each punch and kick sending straw flying until the target surrendered, collapsing against the wall. The Fighter's Guild had been introduced to him by Javal in one of their chance encounters, and from Javal's vivid descriptions, Flint sensed a camaraderie and challenge that resonated with his own desires. The mere thought of the guild set his heart ablaze with excitement, mingled with a rare undercurrent of nervous anticipation.
The crowd's cheers signaled the preceding match's conclusion, marking Flint's cue to step into the limelight. With a metallic ping, he lit a cigarette, strolling leisurely toward the arena entrance, exhaling a plume of smoke as he surveyed the sandy battleground, pillars strategically placed for cover. An announcer's voice boomed, introducing him to the eager audience: "Now, moving on to fight number 2 of the Fighter's Guild qualifiers. Hailing from the Zeinav Desert, standing at 6 feet 4 inches, and weighing in at 195 pounds, we have Flint Caldwell!" His heart quickened as he raised both arms, goading the crowd to cheer louder, basking in the fleeting spotlight.
Spotting a familiar purple-horned figure in the stands, Flint grinned widely, pounding his chest twice before pointing up toward his friend. As the announcer continued, Flint shifted his focus to the opposite entrance, where a vaguely familiar figure emerged, sword at his hip and a stern expression on his face.

At the other side of the Arena Arashi was preparing as well while he might not be an unarmed fighter first, he did know his way around it, and as such would likely start the fight with his sword sheathed, this wasn't meant as a disrespect to his opponent, he was sure that whoever stood at the other side would be extremely skilled and likely push him to his limits, but he wanted to know how far that was, and for that using all his skills even those he wasn't the best at was necessary. So as he also put on the hand wraps, he was reminded of his time training martial arts in his youth... The bloody knuckles, and the shin conditioning he underwent as a martial artist, before taking the path of the blade... He hadn't used these since then, but he liked them, they were as much a protection as he considered them cool and even slightly fashionable...
After setting those in place, he stayed sitting on the bench, waiting for his turn which didn't take too long to arrive. as the Match was called he went onto the arena. once his opponent was presented it was his turn "Coming all the way from the Crescent Isles, standing at 5'9 and weighing 175lbs, We have Arashi Tento!" The crowd cheered although he wasn't exactly sure why, he didn't really feel important and it made him a bit self conscious, a long shot from how his opponent seemed to revel in the moment of fame. Still Arashi scanned the crowd looking for familiar faces, He found Cookie and Mizu cheering for him, and a few seats away he spotted a certain fellblood who he considered a friend. He smiled and nodded at his friends, before looking back towards Flint, Arashi might not like crowds that much but he wouldn't let that distract him the noise from the spectator's cheers fading as he focused.
"Well Fighters, Ready yourselves!" Arashi stood at the ready in an unarmed fighting stance, his Katana and Wakizashi at his hip and his spear ready to be summoned at a moments notice, still he chose to remain unarmed for the moment standing with his left hand open at the front and his right hand closed in a fist next to his chest. it wasn't a very orthodox fighting stance but it was what he found favored his style the most. "and... Fight!" As the fight started Arashi would walk forward, advancing at a slow pace ready to counter or dodge his opponent if he should charge, he wouldn't rush in just yet choosing to start carefully unsure of Flint's skills.

As his opponent was announced, Flint took one last puff of smoke before flicking it to the ground and extinguishing it with his boot. He continued his relaxing pace to the starting spot, though the crowd cheering had his excitement through the roof, and he wondered who he was here that he could show off to other than Javal. As he stopped in place, he froze at the name that came from the announcer. After a second of thought, his grin widened, and his excitement skyrocketed as he realized this was the man who had flown into the dragon's mouth a couple of months back. He knew this would be a good fight.
"Well, Fighters, Ready yourselves!” Flint hopped between his feet and rolled his neck to get himself limbered. He closed his eyes and pulled as much air as he could into his lungs, and then he pushed it all out, along with all the other thoughts except for one. WIN.
As Flint opened his eyes, the announcer called the beginning of the match, and the sight before him made him smirk a little. Arashi hadn’t drawn either of the weapons on his hip; instead, he brought his taped hands up with the intention of hand-to-hand combat. The cowboy was used to meeting armed combatants at their level, but it had been a while since someone had come down to his level. Flint couldn’t help but be impressed by the decision, but he would also make him regret it as he took a similar stance to Arashi but with his fists closed instead of open.
Flint’s smirk grew as he challenged himself to make him draw his sword with only his bare hands. Then, once he sees steel, he’d turn up the heat. Arashi was patient in his approach; for a second, Flint was too, until he rushed in and closed the gap between the two fighters. Opening with a quick left jab to Arashi's shoulder that left a purple marking and then exploded with a delayed impact, allowing room for a follow-up right hook to the swordman’s side. Prodding Arashi’s defenses, Flint threw another three-strike combo on his opposite side. He hoped that he hadn’t figured out the second delayed impact of each opening punch left yet. Though even if he did, the cowboy wasn’t about to give him a second to breath as he continued his offensive momentum to keep Arashi on the defensive.
Passives: Two piece, Bull's strength, Double Strike, Life Link, Magic Blocker.

Once the Fight began and they both cautiously approached the other Arashi was already quite focused that is until he heard a familiar Voice inside his head "You can do this! beat the shit out of him!" He looked around confused his concentration shattered until He spotted his childhood friend Celeste cheering on the stands, from this distance he also spotted a short monochrome figure standing above her at the very highest point of the arena, watching everything with interest, he was sure that must be Keyke, he smiled knowing they were here to support him. But the distraction albeit short was noticeable and long enough for Flint to close the distance and launch his first attack, as Arashi looked back he had barely any time to react so he slapped Flint's wrist away while sidestepping towards his own left away from his opponent's first punch but in the process getting closer to Flint's Right hand, whether by fighting sense or pure luck Arashi was already in the process of dropping low for a sweeping kick being that he was shorter than Flint, the right hook ended up just brushing past Arashi's hair. Expecting Flint to dodge the sweep he would summon a gust of wind towards himself[1] pulling on his opponent to try and get him off balance or move him slightly, and with a burst of energy[2] move faster than expected, to deliver a punch to the gut. "Why did you almost get hit?? You're faster than that!" Arashi didn't lose his focus too much this time, but he made sure to reply in his mind "You're distracting me, he almost got me because you broke my concentration." Hopefully that'll make Celeste think twice before bursting into his head with commentary...

A simple redirection of his wrist countered Flint’s whole plan to overpower Arashi, though he was not deterred from throwing a hook that only made contact with the ends of the swordsman’s hair. Flint could only smile as he watched Arashi sidestep; he was already having a blast being able to fight someone this skilled. Despite the unarmed swordsman’s skills, his next move was somewhat predictable as he dropped for a leg sweep, and Flint simply jumped back to dodge it.
Though he didn’t expect the building of magic around Arashi’s hand and then suddenly pulled towards him. Then, to finish the combo, he felt a fist driven into his stomach. If it were anybody else, the wind would’ve been knocked out of them, but Flint could take a punch and keep going.
Arashi’s first mistake was casting a spell, and Flint’s counterattack began with a proud exclamation, “Bullseye!” As he staggered backward from the punch, he held a finger gun outstretched in Arashi’s direction. 1A link of purple spectral chains shot from his finger, slamming into the swordsman’s chest before the other side shifted to the cowboys chest. The moment the link goes taunt Flint closes the distance and confident in this counter he throws 2three wild punches, not caring where they land just as long as they connect. Once again he crowds Arashi’s and tries to overwhelm him, hoping to keep him in striking distance.

Once His fist Connected Arashi was both surprised that his plan worked, but also concerned that his plan had worked... not sure what to make of it as Flint was pushed back a purple chain linked them both. He felt something link to his magic, it didn't seem to overly affect it though but he would be wary. "What was that..?" he shaked his head, "Come at me then" he grinned as he taunted standing at the ready again, the fight beginning to pick up the pace. As his opponent charged forward again attempting to deliver a series of wild punches, they were fast, faster that he could do himself, but not fast enough to get past his training, he could see the strikes coming, the first one a was a jab, Arashi easily weaved his head around it, a quick hook followed which he managed to backstep although with a bit of difficulty he almost lost a bit of balance there, for the last strike Flint spun his elbow to follow up with the same hand, it was a fast combination, and Arashi wouldn't be able to dodge without opening himself for another follow up, so to recover his balance he decides to catch the fist with his hand[1].
he caught himself by pushing backwards with his leg and putting all his body weight against the punch, once his hand catches it it should give him an advantage, but as soon as his hand and his opponent fist made contact he felt a jolt of pain. Not only was flint way stronger than he thought almost getting to him regardless of his catch, which would've happened had Arashi not used all his body for the motion as a way to recover his balance, but something else happened it shouldn't hurt that much... He also felt something trying to seal his magic, the hand wraps he had put on earlier negating the spell blocker Flint had used. Barely a moment after he felt the pain his entire body was covered in Lightning[2] which would shock and numb whatever touches him, including Flint's hand he was currently grasping, he would also attempt to quickly kick his opponent's leg[3], before trying to make some distance by jumping back.
"I guess it's time to get more serious huh..?"
1: Catching Flint's fist with his hand, which hurt more than he thought it would, hand wraps blocked magic blocker since it has to be direct contact with skin
2: Lightning Armor, as soon as he caught Flint's fist, shocking and numbing his arm
3: Trying to kick at Flint's front leg to try and Shock it as well, then jumping back
