Danae looked on as Azazel seemed deeply troubled by the memories of such cult. She furrows her brow, unsure on whether to take this at face value or not. "..I understand." She says eventually. If Azazel is lying, he's doing a damn good job on selling it. "Were you alone when you found yourself with this cult?"
Following Danae's 'threat', she has a cheeky grin on her features as Azazel not only responds, but has a challenge in his eye. "Mm, you are right." She allows, rocking her head back in forth as she thought about it. "I'm sure they've wanted us both dead for some time."
The look of challenge in Azazels eye makes Danae believe that Azazel has enough information on her that he feels confident in doing so. Again, Danae at a glance doesn't look like someone that you'd want to pick a fight with, but perhaps he's prepared if it comes to that. Truthfully, Danae doesn't want a fight - she's already had a long day and just wants to spend the rest of it kicking back.
"Oh definitely. Heavens always make mistakes. But what it considers enemies and how they make such decisions is pretty cut-n-dry. But let me ask you - what is right to you?" She asks in a way that is not at all combative, but simply curious. Generally she wouldn't want to talk about the upper planes with anybody, but since Azazel had that reaction, Danae has been extremely curious to find out what it is exactly makes this man tick.
"Now, let me quickly recap on what we've learnt. You're a 'noble' trying to work back his family name. Through one way or another, you were disgraced of the name. You like blending in with the common folk and have a silvered tongue - either be it one of a person or snake. You're here in Zeinav because it's the only place you really know."
"You're quite observant and know how to dance around words, yet I get the feeling you're unused to talking with people who know what it is you're doing. You think quite a bit - take a few moments to craft your words, which tells me you're being deliberate with how you word things due to perhaps you lying about almost everything in this conversation, or you're simply careful about what you let past your lips. Both are fair enough."
Danae smiles. "How was that? Ooh, you should tell me what you have learnt! I'm curious!" She says almost excitedly. Truly, she's interested to see what he's gleamed from her. Danae hasn't been particularly secretive, but she hasn't revealed anything overly important. She could easily be seen as someone who just knows a lot about how the heavens function through research.

Azazel glazed over her prior questions as, frankly, they were about topics he didn't care to discuss. When his female companion returned to talk of their game, however, the demon very much leaned forward his mortal vessel in anticipation. He brought a thoughtful finger to his lips as he pondered the accuracy of her statement.
"Hmm... Good enough for passing marks, I should think. Some oversimplifications, but such is the nature of the beast when summing a person up in the span of a breath. As for you..."
Azazel again made motion of thinking. In truth, his immortal mind had already wormed its way through myriad possibilities that were possible until he found what was most reasonable. But such action served to reinforce her perception of him, and people were always less guarded when they were smug.
"I must say, darling, it's not quite as much fun sleuthing when you don't hold much back. Nevertheless, there were still some mysteries to suss out." The demon held up his hand, ticking up fingers as he began his analysis.
"Number one: you have history with the gods and their servants. You attended one of them, or at least a high priest of their worship, evidenced by your natural thinking in the language of the heavens, but you fell. No... you rebelled, capable and headstrong woman that you are. Was it a difference of opinion, a too-harsh judgment on one of the flock, the last straw that finally broke your yoke? I wonder...
"Number two: you were not successful in this endeavor and thus earned yourself the scars you hide from view even now. Knowing how the heavens operate, you were given a choice, serve for redemption or die. You chose the former, though I'm inclined to think that wasn't necessarily for your benefit. You must have had others relying on you, no?
"Number three: the task they've given you must be arduous indeed, for as you've said, you've been here many years, with many more to go, I'd wager. And this analysis brings us full circle: I would be happy to offer my services in your plight, for, as capable as you are, it's too great a task for a single person."

Danae is impressed.
Truly impressed. Azazel is incredibly close. Of course with a few wrong facts here and there. As Azazel continues to list off things he's discovered, Danae's smile turns into a toothy grin, truly impressed at the deduction.
She nods as Azazel finishes up, and decides that she might as well be open about what he's incorrect about. He's almost hit the nail on the head, so the bandage is already mostly ripped off.
"Solid, solid. Few things, though. First of all, I was given no choice. I would have chosen death at the time." She corrects, moving on swiftly. "Second, I have a lot longer than you think. And finally, my friend.."
"I was no mere priest. I walked the heavens personally. I served directly under Solaris amongst the other celestials. I have been around since even before Charon was a mere speck on the map. I sat and watched civilizations rise and fall, not only watching Charon, but the other continents upon the planet we walk now. Eons spent in service."
"And I did not rebel against the mere religion, but I rebelled against the other celestials for they became almost tyrannical after the gods died. I was granted no choice when I had my wings clipped and my blade confiscated."
"Mm, that was about 450 or so odd years ago."
Danae smiles as she shifts the halberd from her lap to her shoulder, leaning back in her chair. "You were damn close, though. Kudos to you!" She congratulates, leaning forward for a moment to pat Azazel on the side of the shoulder.
"Oh, one more thing. You mentioned an 'us' before in regards to the cult. Who is 'us'?"

Azazel sported a smirk that would put the most devilish of courtiers to shame as Danae began to speak. As she revealed the marvelous origins of her time on the mortal plane, however, there was no alteration in the man's guise, as if he wasn't at all surprised that the woman before him was a celestial.
So, she WAS an angel. We should kill her. Whatever for? We're demons. She'd kill us. For what? Some juvenile mortal conception about opposing forces? Grow up, Arteron. She was formed by a higher power; we spawned from the depravity of mortal emotions: that's all there is to it. The heavens, for however high and mighty they like to portray, deserve no special credence, and I think our new friend would agree. Besides, is a bird with clipped wings truly a bird at all?
Arteron fell silent at Azazel's point, a fact that caused his smile to grow even larger.
"You called me 'friend', my dear. Am I to take this as a promising start of a partnership?" Azazel's eyes blazed with the familiar dangerous glint that Danae had seen so often within. Given her forthrightness, the demon thought it only fitting to give her an answer in kind, even if it would be the uninspired closing of a lie that didn't matter.
"Hm, us? Why myself and the other prisoners. I hope I didn't give the impression I was important enough to madmen to warrant a sole abduction."

There is an interesting pause in conversation. A few moments of thinking to themselves before they speak, yet their words aren't exactly something you have to measure beforehand. Whatever Azazel is thinking, it must be quite interesting, and boy is Danae curious.
"Mm, play your cards right and perhaps. Actually.." Danae leans herself forward and looks at Azazel inquisitively, yet does not say a word. Her gaze is piercing and almost like she's analyzing everything from how he looks to what is going on in his soul. It feels almost intrusive.
Her gaze remains fixed for several seconds before she hums to herself and leans back. "No.. What an interesting feeling.." She mutters to herself, growing more curious by the second. Danae is usually able to tell if killing something or someone would remove a tattoo, and it's always a solid 'yes' or 'no'. Yet with Azazel, it's a 'kinda'. Something she hasn't encountered before.
She shakes her head as she refocuses on the conversation. The whole cult thing is very rapidly losing her interest as she waves away Azazels response. "Fair. Now this'll be blunt but I have to ask; who are you? I mean really, don't mince words here. I feel it's only fair after what I've shared, hm? I mean, when I look at people, I can tell whether they're someone that needs to be killed. With you, though? I'm getting mixed ideas. Like, uh.. Like you're two very different people if that makes sense? It's very strange."
Of course, Danae doesn't know about whatever is going on in Azazels head, but it really is the only fitting analogy for the situation. She is very curious on what would happen if she were to kill Azazel. She wont unless given a reason to, but the curiosity is still there.

That was clearly a threat. We need to kill her before she kills us. You may not be aware, Azazel, but initiative is very important in a fight. What nonsense are you speaking, Arteron? You being overeager to fight got you into this mess of being at my beck and call, or don't you remember? The wrath demon merely growled within the vessel's mind and remained guarded.
Azazel smiled as Danae got closer to look at him. "You know, my dear, you've merely to ask, and I would subject myself to your inquisitorial gaze whenever you'd like." The demon mulled over her responding question about his true nature. On the one hand, Arteron's paranoia was not unfounded, given the tight grip on the woman's halberd and her bent on judging 'unrighteous souls', or whatever else the cumbersome celestials called failing mortals these days. Even so, Azazel could not deny the powerful allure of flitting so close to near-certain danger, and Danae was interesting enough besides. Thus, he began guarded, but speaking in a double entendre that one of her former station ought to be able to suss out with a bit of mental footwork.
"I would argue that all the most interesting people are like a roiling kaleidoscope of color, not so easy to pin down in simple terms." Thinking of Arteron's still-guarded mindset, Azazel smirked. "Some of my component makeup is less desirable than the rest... But I won't insult your observation, it's clear I am no less significant than you, if in... differing ways. We are as lions amongst sheep, oblivious mortals that draw breath because we choose to hold our blades. As such, I am one of the only people on this mortal coil that can truly help you."
