The pair seem confused at the title for a moment but nod as she replies. Taki rolls her neck about as if she were stretching, giving a subtle nod to the shushing spirit as she does so. She couldn't help but smile softly just a little as she finished her 'stretch'.
"My mentor was not born or built here on Charon, they were shunted here from their own realm using some sort of... machine? magic? I'm not fully sure what it was, and their explanation was dizzying. Either way, they had a body made of tiny metal machines that were capable of eating metal to repair themselves, loved research and animals... then retired some time later to take on another such journey using something new. I started my own adventuring career around that time, and it reminded me of your tale. As far as the second part goes, that is my way of saying I am able to sense your own magical connection. Everything has a spirit, and a connection to each other. Much like nature, not all spirits are of the same form, complexity or outlook, but some are packed with a palpable potential. A 'spark' if you will, that projects itself very quietly and can speak volumes about said spirit if you're able to perceive it. I would demonstrate, but I think we should eat first."
Serving up the stew in a pair of bowls, Taki set them on either side of the mat, along with several fresh fruits from her home garden from the cooler. Beneath these was a string of sausages, which the shaman draped over the sizzling flames to warm through. Kamina filled her bowl with broth from Taki's bowl, and plucked off little fairy sized chunks of what she wanted. She gave Hakaze a sly grin a moment before retrieving the last two treats. Yukina noticed the look as well and was already rocketing into the sky as the shaman launched a pair of projectiles. Hakaze's nose was faster than his mind though, and the log of smoked goodness barely made it outside the shaman's grasp before being snapped up. Chuckling softly, she realized she probably should explain the sausages.
"The sausages are self serve, if you'd like one, don't be shy about it in a few minutes when they warm."

The form squatting down behind C'Leena lets out a silent, relieved breath, hanging her head slightly. C'Leena looks none the wiser. The doctor listens intently, fascinated and also somehow relieved as well. Both on their masters' appearance in Charon being very similar to her own, but also apparently having some form of self-replicating nanotech. Such a thing on Earth was beginning to be experimented on and tested as a viable way to have self-repairing ship hulls and metallic building frames, as well as a million and one uses in military.
"Nanotech? I'm sorry, I swear I was listening but I'm still caught up by that." She apologizes, but leans forward in interest. "Were they AI or a sapient being? Do you know how they functioned outside of self-replication? Do you know where they were from originally?"
C'Leena stops herself, an apologetic look forming. "Wait, no, I think those questions might be in poor taste. I'm sorry."
The talk on spirits and whatnot makes her curious yet again. The endless debate on the supernatural, souls and wandering apparitions is one that would most likely outlive the death of the universe. In the end, C'Leena doesn't actually have that much of an opinion. At least she didn't before being pulled to Charon. In her indirect meetings with Callythia - Nephele's deceased mother, she's had to accept that spirits do exist and, at least in Callythia's case, are kind of assholes. Even from beyond the grave, she still tries to keep those strings on Nephele like some form of puppeteer. C'Leena will just have to keep cutting them as they appear.
"I can't say I've seen spirits before. Heard them more than a few times but.. No, never seen one." She says after a few moments of thinking. She really hopes to never see one if she can help it. But the lingering promise of seeing a different kind of magic has C'Leena immediately hooked. She nods enthusiastically, clearly excited about that particular prospect.
She watches with a culinary eye, identifying what she can as it's placed out or poured into bowls. Her time with Nephele has shown her that the Nymph is.. Almost completely helpless in the kitchen and if she remembers correctly, was using flour at some point while making scrambled eggs, if her flour-stained clothing was anything to go by. So, on top of everything, C'Leena has also been the designated cook. Working around open flames isn't something she particularly likes, but she manages. She focuses more on the cooking side of things than the fire, and that helps a touch.
Still with the fire in front of her, she feels an incredible amount of nervousness. Her proximity for this long has eased her nerves perhaps by a single percentile, but she is by no stretch of the imagination, comfortable. The moment the flames begin to sizzle and crack, she shuffles back a little further, eyeing the dancing flame warily, as if it were some snake ready to strike.
Thank god she learnt Telekinesis. Getting anywhere near that flame would most likely end very poorly, and she has a feeling Taki is not as ready for a sudden PTSD attack as Cyran was. Granted, Cyran wasn't, either, but he seemed to know what he was doing.

"It's quite alright, I'm just unfamiliar with such terms or their context... so I don't really have any answers for your questions. As far as their origin, I also am not sure."
Taki extended a claw and plucked a pair of sausages from their skewers, waving them about for a moment before tossing one to Yukina and eating the other. As the plump links finished cooking, she moved them away from the small campfire so they were easier to reach. She and her companions enjoyed sharing the small picnic, warming weather and a restful day away from the usual hustle. She noticed the nervousness C'Leena had towards the campfire, and snuffed out the small conflagration with a scooping motion. Sand and dirt smothered the smoldering coals, leaving only a wisp of smoke trailing on the winds.
Keta and Ryu moved up beside Taki as she stood up to stretch, while she walked over to Hakaze and gave the big drake a pat on his snout. Kamina buzzed about, until getting caught by the shaman, who wiped the grease and food from her tiny form before setting her loose again.
"Spirits tend to be like that, only showing themselves to those with certain affinities or in times of great need. I've known their voices, their presence, for as long as I can remember... but even as connected as I am, I rarely see the chosen forms of the spirits... Keta, Ryu, and a few others whose role needs such a display are the exceptions. Aside from other spirit guardians, most spirits prefer anonymity, so try not to take it personally."

C'Leena's eyes widen for a moment as she realizes her blunder. "Ah. Yeah, right, forgot about that. Sorry." She rubs the nape of her neck with an apologetic look. "I feel like it would take way too long to explain any of those terms and have it make sense in the end. I don't even understand how they work, anyway."
As Taki serves up the food to her numerous companions, C'Leena watches in fascination, forcefully ignoring the fire they were cooked on. Yet once she was done and waved her hand to smother the flames, the amount of relief she felt was incredible. C'Leena didn't even realize the extent of her anxiety around the open flame until now, and the relief is visible as her shoulders relax and C'Leena looks to settle in a little more. "Thank you," she says quietly.
C'Leena listens intently as Taki speaks about the spirits and their desire for anonymity. It makes sense to C'Leena, anyway. While Taki is talking, the innate glow across C'Leena's prosthetics begins to shift from an aquamarine to a deep purple. She draws out a complex looking sigil with her fingers. The writing only takes a few seconds, and with a final tap on the sigil, a massive array of runes light up on the prosthetics which seem to 'detach' themselves from the metal and fly off.
Directly at a singular sausage[1] which is cut off the link. The sausage is wrapped up in glowing purple runes as it hovers back toward C'Leena who takes it from the air, not once looking away from Taki.
"I see. Anonymity makes sense. I don't think I've heard this one speak, but you? You'd think that seeing them would be easy as. A common occurrence." She pauses to take a bite of the sausage but stops as something clicks in her mind. "Wait, they're spiri- Ohh that actually makes a lot of sense. That's cool!"

"If you ever wish to know more about the spirits, feel free to visit my home in the Crescent Isles. It's a lot to discuss, and discover, so having a tranquil place helps. I wouldn't call it common per say, to see a given spirit, but if you know the who and where... it becomes an attainable experience."
"Don't let Taki's words fool you, her connection to the spirit realm is abnormally attuned. Keta and I sometimes joke that she's 'Half in, Half out'"
"Mhm mhm 'One who sees no borders' is the way the old ones refer to her, and a few others with similar ability."
Taki sighs heavily. While the reality of her connection being abnormal wasn't new, she sincerely wished it was a gift that anyone could share in. Being able to listen to the world around you and share a coexistence with all life was an invaluable part of her own life. Wanting to share that wisdom, and teach others to do the same, came quite naturally to the shaman.
Yukina lands beside Taki and gulps down another link of sausage, then uses her wing to gently nudge Kamina over. Incredulous, and barely able to stand taller than the short grass around the pixie, Kamina gets up quickly and chases after the now fleeing Owl. Yukina's chuckling and laughter chirped like a joyous song as the pair streaked back and forth in intricate loops across the sky. Smiling, most of the shaman's companions either joined the festivities or chuckled at the display.
Seeing Hakaze take off after this wild goose chase changed the whole dynamic, the others scattering from the drake's path in several directions at once. The easiest target to follow, Hakaze pursued Yukina only to realize the trap as it sprung. While a trained and disciplined companion, the drake had one peculiar trait. Together, Ryu and Kamina started rubbing lightly on the drake's belly scales. A moment later, the drake burst into laughter and dropped a few feet towards the ground, losing track of the others.
"This is the best part of every day..."
