'What is that?' Goldie thought to herself. She had been watching the person for a while.
Goldie took a small rock, like the size of a young child's palm, and threw it. She threw it right at the lizard man who was by a pond. It was in a humanoid shape but scaly. He did not seem to be doing anything that was destructive or chaotic. Something about his behavior was odd, but he seemed to show some sort of intelligence factor about him. You know, he wasn't a stupid beast. He was just there doing something. She was pretty close to him but could not make out the creature's exact activity. The rock thrown landed on the lizard's physique- likely doing nothing. She wondered if he ever felt the pebble at all.
"Go away scaly monster.....thing!" a soft and shaky feminine voice came from some shrubs. If he were to look in the direction of the shrubs and look closely, Goldie was camouflaging badly. She wore her regular white dress and was crouching. Few feathers from her shoulder blades stuck upright, indicating she was not very human herself. Not only that, her ugly third eye was plastered on her forehead. It blinked and shifted it's pupils back and forth in fright.
This time she picked up a pine cone and threw it, "Go away!" the young woman tried to sound as stern and serious, but it came off bad. What the lizard man did not realize, was that Goldie had just gone fishing. After fishing, and placing her food back in her home she came and saw this....thing near the pond she had fished at. This was near her home and it worried her deeply. This thing was completely unfamiliar to her and she had no idea how to handle it. Goldie was always so used to Guardian Angel fighting the battles for her, but now......

Lo had gotten lost in the woods of Moonglade, thoroughly turned around in search of the proper road towards Starlight City... Vinny and the kids were expecting the mage to get there, and back, in one piece with an important parcel. Cursing their incapability, they tried to keep bearing as the sun moved across the sky hopelessly. With a sigh, they stopped for a moment to rest. After filling their waterskin, Lo sat down beside the creek to cool down and have a small snack.
The flowing water helped calmed their mind, the sound cutting through the stress of being so lost. After eating a protein packed ration bar, the mage stood and dusted themselves off as they studied the surroundings. West was easy to determine, but without a bearing on themselves or the city, that tidbit only meant so much. What was it that Vinny had said during the discussion? They stood their scratching their chin and trying to recall, though it was jumbled amongst the mountain of other sayings and ideas they'd been discussing recently. A small, smooth stone bounced lightly off their scales before clacking back to the ground. A stillness overcame the mage as they prepared to fight back with all the might they could muster.
"Go away scaly monster... Thing!" a voice shouted from somewhere over the shoulder. It reminded the mage of their first days after arriving at Vinny's, the younger kids frightened by their draconic visage. With a sigh, they turned about slowly to scan for the responsible party.
"Go away!" came the voice again, Lo recognizing the strain in their voice. The girl wasn't difficult to spot crouching among the brush, her nearly platinum blond hair and stark white outfit did little more than draw attention against a backdrop of greens, greys and browns. A pine cone sailed harmlessly towards them, so Lo decided to catch it midair.
"That's quite a rude way to address another person young lady... I'm no monster, to the best of my knowledge... and I have a name... do you also have a name?" Asked the mage, their tone as calm and neutral as could be, though they figured her fixation had nothing to do with what they said or sounded like.

"Huh?" she questioned. The young woman was caught off guard by the beast's relaxed demeanor once landing her eyes on her. The beast wasn't scared of her! Oh no!
He asked for her name. Goldie had a good view of the monster. She had never seen a monster so intelligent and capable of speech. Any time there were intruders on their property, Guardian Angel always told Goldie to stay home and she'd handle it. Goldie had very little combat experience. Unfortunately for her, Guardian Angel never taught her anything advanced in light magic or weapons.
"Rude! I'm not rude! You are on my property!"
The beast wasn't the tallest of beasts she had laid eyes on. Just a few inches higher than herself. After he didn't seem to want to annihilate her existence, she stepped out of the bushes. She was on full display with a lightly tilted head. Her eyes showed on her forehead blinking in curiousity. It seemed to show no visionary aid to her. It was just blinking and blank.
"Oh.....uh....I'm Goldie! Nice to meet you! Wait....uh" Goldie tried to smile at the monster, "Why are you here? This is my river!" her mood changed once again to attempt to be defensive. Hopefully, she could scare him off. Goldie didn't know if she'd win a fight against him. Well, there was 0 probability of that happening. Maybe she should retreat, hide, and cry. Well, it was too late now. He had discovered her, and he was probably going to kill her now. Eat her? Ugh! Oh no! Where's my Guardian Angel?
Dead.
Goldie put her hands on her face in fight or flight mode. More like flight but she just kind of stood there. She waited for the beast to claw at her. She didn't want to see him so hands were placed on her set of eyes. Well, the ones she could see through at least.

"Huh?" The young woman seemed flustered by the question.
"Rude! I'm not rude! You are on my property!" She proclaimed, professing this place her own. Lo looked around a moment, not seeing a dwelling of any kind, or signs to indicate someone might properly have claimed this land. He turned back, taking notice of her form for the first time. Tanned skin, crimson eyes and golden hair accented a simple but elegant dress. Most peculiar was the unfocused third eye she had, staring blankly ahead to some unknown purpose. It took a moment for the lass to continue.
"Oh.....uh....I'm Goldie! Nice to meet you! Wait....uh" She replied, trying to force a smile. "Why are you here? This is my river!" She asserted again, as if such a claim held some unseen threat. It wasn't tough for the mage to tell this situation was bothering her, but it also proved an intriguingly familiar one. Lo had been running into a few similar situations with some of the children Vinny would leave in their care. Most did their best to at least be civil, though a few liked to give them a hard time out of spite or mistrust... or some other reason Lo couldn't possibly glean. Either way, if they could help this stranger by the water's edge not think ill of them... perhaps...
"Most call me Lo, since my full name makes even my tongue sore. My apologies if this is in fact your property Miss Goldie, I was wandering about the area in search of some hard to get herbs... I mean you no harm, and will leave peacefully if that is what you so desire. A word of caution for the future: Some people may not be so quick to think about what you're saying... they'll only hear you yelling and feel threatened, perhaps even lash out."
Lo sat down on the cool, soft shore, setting their staff down out of arm's reach. They had all the time in the world, and this was worth a bit of effort.
