Sylvari was a bit shell-shocked by the chain of events, to be honest. Arashi teleporting in front of her, that conjured bow of crackling lightning, powerful enough to split the massive beast in two... She hadn't seen a power like that before. Always something more to learn. I'm glad Arashi is on the side of righteousness. I can't imagine my armor would do much against an attack like that...
Sylvari was shaken from her stunned reverie as Arashi passes her toward the shore, stumbling slightly and gripping a wound at his side, trailing a line of blood onto the docks as he walked. "Oh no, you're going to sit down right there and let me treat that wound, Arashi." The justiciar's tone was harsh, but her concern was evident in her words. She crossed the distance between them and forced Arashi to take a seat, leaning against a bit of railing still acceptably connected to the pier.
Sylvari lifted Arashi's shirt to get a look at the wound, an ugly gash that spanned from his top ribs down to his hip. "Lady Ellyria, grant your servant the power to minister to this servant of righteousness." Sylvari's hands began to glow with golden rays. She pressed them gently to the wound, a holy corona of expanding light exploding around them as she poured positive energy into the wound, knitting the flesh tenderly back together [Celestial, Holy Gifts (Massive Healing)].
Sylvari sat back, sighing in satisfaction as her spell rendered the flesh before her unblemished. "Ok, now we can go." She graced Arashi with a dazzling smile, the tips of pointed canines just visible in her carefree jubilation.

As he passed by her stumbling and bloody he was ready to walk carefully through the broken docks towards the shore, but it seems Sylvi had other ideas, and concerns, than the probability of the pier collapsing. She ran up to him and chided him a bit telling him to sit down, Arashi resisted a bit but as she tried to move him he stumbled a bit and accepted that maybe he did in fact need healing... "Alright, alright, I'll sit here then..." he sat against the bit of railing nearby as instructed by her. Once she lifted his shirt, he looked away, he didn't mind seeing his wounds or blood, but he was indeed a bit embarrassed by the whole situation... as she began chanting with Eyes closed Arashi looked back down trying to make out what she said in her prayer, once her hands began glowing he felt the warmth and healing energy closing his wound and restoring his vitality
"I really should learn some sort of healing spell considering how often I get hurt..." he chuckled warmly as Sylvi leaned back with a smile, she had sharp long fangs... Interesting... He had met Vampires before, well... His childhood friend's family was basically all vampires even if she herself wasn't... So he didn't take long to put together why she hadn't had sweets in quite a while as she had answered to Cookie's question earlier... he wondered how long it had been, but he didn't want to ask in case it brought bad memories to her... it would be a shame for her smile to disappear so soon.
But it seems destiny had other plans... with wind picking up and waves hitting against the supports, the wooden pier began to creak a little "Uhm maybe we should hu-" he was cut off by the wooden boards beneath the both of them giving in... "I got you!" he began channelling his flight spell as he grabbed onto Sylvi fairly certain that neither of them wanted to fall on the frigid water, and that heavy armor wasn't the best thing to wear while going for a swim... he would attempt to fly them both to shore, not trusting the damaged pier to sustain a landing. But if she asked for it He would let her down a bit away from where the pier cracked so she's in not as much risk of falling again...

Arashi's hold on Sylvari as the pier began to collapse the rest of the way was as sudden and unexpected as it was appreciated, albeit through scarlet covered cheeks. She held to him tightly and took care not to move too much, trying to make the save as easy as she could manage. The justiciar was well aware of the weight of her metal armor for those unaccustomed to its encumbrance.
As Arashi set her down on the shore, Sylvari favored him with a brilliant smile, rivaling the radiance of her healing spell from before, wincing slightly as she witnessed the rest of the splintered docks fall into the waves in her periphery. She was glad to see that Mizu and Cookie had already made their way to shore, allaying any worry she had over them falling into the tumultuous waves.
"I am most gratified for you assistance, Arashi, both now and in the fight. You are a capable and resourceful warrior and one I am glad to stand beside." The vampiress reached out and gave his upper arm a comforting squeeze.
At this moment, the little dragonling came bounding out of the waves, his tiny skeleton sloughing water as he sprinted towards his mistress and jumped into her arms, nuzzling into her breastplate. Sylvari smiled fondly at her little servant, and began affectionately rubbing the bony crests of his skull.

As He Carried her in his arms, Arashi didn't meet Sylvi's Gaze slightly embarrassed and worried by such closeness, he wasn't sure how she would react or even if she was ok with it... But she stayed mostly still and held on tightly, the flight was quite silent neither of them seeming to want to speak, either way it was over quickly and mostly effortlessly, Most of Sylvari's weight was her armor and being that she was a bit smaller than him her armor was also lighter than what he would use even if he wasn't used to wearing armor he would still be able to move in it, so the difference didn't affect his flight much. as He landed and set Sylvi down, She smiled brightly at him before wincing a little which made him look behind him just in time to see the rest of the pier and docks sink below the waves, Cookie and Mizu were safe already having gotten to the Coast with time to spare, they walked at a relatively slow pace towards them both as they giggled and celebrated amongst themselves As Sylvi thanked and complimented Arashi on his combat abilities, he smiled before blushing again as she squeezed his arm. "You're formidable too, even against opponents of such size you held firm and managed to keep them at bay. I am also glad to have had you as a partner for this quest." as her dragonling came rushing towards her, his smile returns even warmer than before. "And you know... if I may drop the formalities... You've got a cute smile" he softly chuckles, "The fangs help it as well"
He then blushed and looked away embarrassed at himself "Sorry if that was improper... I... well, I've just had this feeling you maybe don't feel so comfortable with yourself... I don't know what you went through... and you don't have to tell me, if you don't want to, but I know what... others like you have gone through... And I'm also sure your heart is in the right place... that doesn't mean I don't mean it or anything like that! I just... I'm not one to compliment people... it feels awkward for me, as you have probably noticed..." he sighs, "Sorry I'm rambling..."

Sylvari took the time to lift her veil, revealing her pure crimson eyes, before smiling with eminent kindness, crinkling the corners of her face in her gentle joy. She reached out to take Arashi's hand in her own.
"Thank you for your kind words, Arashi. I have done my best to make my peace with my existence as it is now, but rest assured, I wear this veil and hide my nature for the comfort of the common people. It is always a pleasure to meet someone who can pierce my mask and still has a measure of fondness for me." The vampiress' quiet tone belied her small smile, and spoke of pain of the past: of times her unveiled secret was not received so well. There was a beat of silence before a wider, more sincere smile worked its way across Sylvari's face. Not wishing to embarrass him in front of Mizu and Cookie who were coming at a clipped pace to rejoin the group, the justiciar leaned forward and whispered to her friend.
"Don't ever apologize for your kindness. Sweet words are worth waiting for." Sylvari gave him an impish smile before moving back to a friendly spacing and reveiling her eyes as their two companions rejoined them.

As he finished blurting out his apology for complimenting someone who he met recently and might not really appreciate a compliment therefore he should apologize since it isn't his intention to be weird or anything... Yeah after that. Arashi saw Sylvi's eyes for the first time, they were deep crimson, they even seemed to shine, he couldn't help but stare, but not out of fear or anything of the like rather he just found them slightly hypnotic, he held eye contact as she held his hand gently and expressed appreciation... He nodded with a knowing smile, he knew how some people reacted to vampires... He took way to long to realize it, but after learning of the heinous act his parents had committed against the family of his only friend... He was sure Sylvari would have experienced her own fair share of hardship and prejudice... But he felt really glad that she could accept herself as she was, even if the statement wasn't the most convincing, at least she was trying, which is all we can do at the end of the day
As she leaned in to whisper into his ear, Arashi blushed and tensed up a bit, her smile was different this time or it felt that way at least... He didn't really understand what she meant with the last part... Still he relaxed once she took a step back and heard Cookie and Mizu giggling nearby, looking towards the both of them, they both whispered a bit before giggling again, Arashi raised an eyebrow. Cookie approached "We did it! Sooo how are you two feeling?" " Cookie and I are fine, also thank you Sylvi for keeping that Akhlut away." Mizu bowed, but Cookie had another idea she flew next to them both in circles as she eyed them doing a high pitched thinking hum "hmmm... Hmmmmmmm..... Soooo Do you like her dad?" Mizu chortled in barely contained laughter as she bent over holding her stomach, Arashi's face became as bright red as Sylvi's eyes, cookie giggled with her hand over her mouth.

Sylvari let out a small peal of laughter, clear and melodic as a bell, upon seeing Arashi's reaction. She affixed her veil in place as Mizu and Cookie approached, and turned around to meet their advance, walking over to them to greet the pair, and to give Arashi a bit of respite from their curious eyes.
"I am very glad to see the two of you safe. You both have hearts of iron to be so resolute in battle. You're also deft shots with those cannons! Having your backup really made the fight much more manageable." Sylvari reached out and squeezed Mizu's arm comfortingly at her thanks. "Of course, dear. I am committed to protect all that I can, and comrades in arms are foremost amongst that group."
As Cookie circled Sylvari and Arashi, peppering them with jubilant inquisition about the feelings between them, the vampiress decided to help to alleviate some of the embarrassment from her friend. She smiled impishly at the winged creature and began speaking in an excitable tone, hoping to match her enthusiasm to throw her off the trail.
"I certainly hope so, Cookie. Did you see how cool Arashi was? He was fighting off all those Ahklut by himself! And that lightning bow? It was like he called the sky itself to our side!"

Her melodic laugh at his reaction was slightly unexpected, Arashi really appreciated her reassuring and getting along with the both of them, even if the weren't blood related, Mizu and Cookie were his family now. So having them be reassured and appreciated was something he always liked to see. Cookie was young and extremely energetic and curious, she hasn't really known much hatred, or even anger towards her... Arashi might have merciless bouts when fighting, but Cookie was basically immune to his anger, he had almost infinite patience with her. Or at least she hadn't ever exhausted it... Mizu was different, she had known rejection, she had been exiled of the only home she had known, thrown out by Arashi's parents to avoid her telling their son about their sins... she was a very kind soul, despite the suffering she had endured, the loss of her mother, the endless responsibilities thrown her way before she was even of age... and then the betrayal of trying to do what was best for Arashi, which was the task his parents had given her since she had memory, and being punished for it... thrown out and painted as someone who resented ever meeting the person she herself considered a little brother... Arashi was Glad to see her smiling with a friend.
But all this internal thought process and the gladness he felt at the scene before him, were cut short. As Cookie asked him the million Solar question. To be honest in his embarrassment he broke a little thinking at several thousand thoughts per second wondering whether he did or not, and what he should say regarding that. She did find her pretty and she was also kind, brave, and caring, besides she was a formidable fighter... But they had just met today, he didn't know her that well... He would love to get to know her better, but what if she didn't? He didn't want to make her uncomfortable, what if she ends up hating him? I mean there are people who hate him, but he doesn't want people who he thinks are good and who he likes hating him... Well there was the answer sort of... He does like her... he thinks she's a good person despite what her curse would imply... But the question was not just liking someone as a person, no there was more to it, he knows Cookie wants a mom of sorts and he thinks she might, albeit not too subtly, be trying to nudge him into trying and ask Sylvi out in some way or another...
He found himself in a sort of freeze state, which became almost exacerbated by Sylvi's answer and Cookie's nodding "I knoooooow Right?!? Dad is the Coolest!! did you know he fought a biiiiiiiig Dragon! vulca... Vulcydoo... Vulcadridi... Vulcy! You know the one that burst out of the fiery Mount Drakolt!! Leaving a crater where a mountain stood! I think he was some sort of god who wanted to eat the world or something..? but I'm not sure! hihi" she giggled as she sang praises about Arashi... being extremely not subtle. But as she did so Arashi smiled a little, it was a bit of a glad but sort of defeated smile to put it some way, he looked down and to the left as his cheeks were basically tomatoes by now... but hearing Sylvi speak of him like that, even if it was acting and mostly a distraction tactic, his heart sort of skipped a beat... maybe he did Like her in the way Cookie was implying... he hoped that either Sylvi couldn't hear heartbeats, or that feeling was just a feeling and not a fact.
Was he starting to Crush on someone again? It definitely had been a while... Several years even... So he couldn't really tell, he didn't really remember exactly what it felt like, and even then those feelings might work different now that he's an adult... He didn't really know what to say or do. So he just stayed there looking down with cheeks flushed, he almost looked as childish as Cookie as he moved restlessly.
Truth is he did feel a bit like a child right now...

Sylvari's smile only grew wider at Cookie's enthusiastic tales of Arashi's exploits. She had an infectious joy about her that lulled Sylvari into such a state of contentment that her fangs threatened to show. She quickly adjusted her lips to prevent this, wanting, at the very least, to spare Arashi from having a conversation about the nature of curses with their tiny winged companion. Nevertheless, the vampiress found herself drawn into Cookie's story, disjointed as it was.
"Wow, Cookie, that is amazing. I wish I could have been able to fight alongside Arashi there as well as today. Unfortunately, I only got to help clean up the aftermath, and let me tell you, cleaning up exploded volcano rocks that have fallen on people's houses? Much less cool than fighting a dragon. But if any more angry gods threaten the world, you and Arashi can rest assured that I have your back."
Sylvari smiled kindly, almost maternally, at the little one, flitting about in excitement. She also favored Arashi with a gentle smile. She earnestly hoped that she could travel with this odd little band: if not now, then some time in the future. Such liveliness and obvious care did wonders to lift her own tendencies toward doom and gloom with the bleak outlook of her cursed state.

"Yes! It was amazing!" Cookie nodded enthusiastically, while this conversation was going on and Arashi was lost in his mind trying to make himself as unnoticeable as possible. Mizu who was quite amused and could barely bear to watch her little soldier boy so thoroughly incapacitated, sneaked around and behind him and put her hands on his shoulders shaking him gently a bit, meanwhile Cookie kept going excitedly "Yay! I'm glad we can count on you! with you it should be easier Maybe Dad won't have to di-" before Cookie revealed to much Mizu pushed Arashi towards Sylvari making him stumble, He managed to catch and balance himself before crashing into his Vampire friend, but as he did he was close...
Cookie was a bit surprised and looked towards Mizu, who just frowned slightly at her which was seemingly enough to make her understand. Arashi who was fiddling with his fingers looked at her Still feeling a bit awkward but decidedly wanting to not feel like that so much. He took a deep breath, "I'll be counting on you then... uhm Sylvi..? if you're ever around the Isles well chances are you can find me... I live there, between Starlight City and the Bamboo forest... I mean you don't have to visit or anything, but if you're in the area well just know you have a friend there..." His eyes met her gaze through the veil one more time "Also if you ever need help in an adventure or something, or just someone to talk to... well, Charon has a postal service, I'm sure we can get in contact" He smiled a kind of smile he rarely does... sheepishly. he was embarrassed but happy and hopeful. Hopefully she would be fine with that.

An impish grin worked its way onto the justiciar's face at the mention of Arashi's home in the Isles. "Near Starlight City, is that right? I suppose I'll find myself in the area. My own home is a half day's journey from Starlight City itself. How wonderful to find a friendly neighbor!"
Sylvari laughed again, her cheeks slightly rosy with merriment. The day's events, while trying, had forged a bond between her and her new friends, and she was thankful that the gods saw fit to continue supplying her with allies. It was these precious relationships that gave her the strength to press on in the midst of seemingly impossible circumstances, and Sylvari would do her very best for the sake of all of them.
"Well, I think it's high time to report in with the sergeant in charge, tend to any wounded and help organize rebuilding efforts if needed. I understand you all were contracted as protection, so I certainly wouldn't begrudge you for skipping the boredom of administration. Even so, I am very glad to have made your acquaintance and wait eagerly for the day we may be reunited again. Come along, Noe."
With that, the vampiress turned on her heel, her little skeletal dragonling in tow, towards the heart of encampment where the survivors waited for news of the attack's end.
