Gender: female (she/her)
Age: 22 years old
Race: Half Dragon (Draconynh/Moon Elf)
Nationality: Lantern Light Woods, Moonglade
Appearance
Avarae is a rarity, even amongst Half Dragons. Daughter of a Draconynh and Moon Elf, she embodies the extraordinary beauty and strength emerging from the union of these two disparate races. While on the shorter side at 6 feet, her regal bearing is unmistakably Draconynh, while her graceful posture and serene presence pay homage to her Moon Elf lineage.
Her skin is a soft lavender, a nod to her Moon Elf ancestry. What truly captivates those who encounter her, however, are the iridescent dragon scales subtly dotting her skin, particularly along her sharp cheekbones and pointed ears. These small scales shimmer in the light, imbuing her with an ethereal aura.
Her hair is a waterfall of radiant silver, like her fathers, yet it's the strands of various hues of blue, from sky to deep sapphire, inherited from her mother's scales, that set her apart.
Like her mother, Avarae's eyes possess vertical slit pupils and their irises are a deep blue that, in the moonlight, sparkle with silver. Looking into her eyes can either enchant the viewer or intimidate, depending on her mood and inclination.
Avarae generally wears short sleeved tunics and wide-legged pants crafted from Elven silks of bright blues and greens. All her clothes sport some kind of embroidery, whether small tropical flowers only found on Moonglade or dragon scales mimicking a Draconyths, sewn with thin silver thread. Typically barefoot, she has learned to tolerate shoes and wears soft boots made of suede to match her outfit. Eschewing the typical elven love of gold, she prefers moonstones and silver to diamonds and gold, which is reflected in the small hoop earrings and bracelets she wears. Despite that, she does own one piece of gold jewelry: a locket resembling a full moon with her parents' portraits inside.
Personality
Upon meeting Avarae, one might be offput by her upright carriage and calm demeanor. But that's only before she starts talking. In an instant, her youthful exuberance and natural curiosity about everything belies her dual heritage.
Orphaned at a young age, Avarae was deeply influenced by her foster mother, a Ribbinynh. Her upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of community and appreciation for nature. More laid back than one might expect from her Draconynh heritage, she can be fierce when the occasion calls for it.

- She aspires to become a mediator or diplomat, leveraging her unique heritage to foster peace and understanding among the various races.
Flaws
- Her youth and lack of worldly experience can make her naive and overly trusting at times.
- Her fiery temper, while a source of strength, can also be her undoing, leading her to act impulsively.
- She struggles with a deep-rooted sense of loss and abandonment due to the disappearance of her biological parents, which can make her hesitant to form new bonds.
History
It was the dark of the moon when Avarae learned her parents, Ailmar and Etreh, had been lost at sea. They'd been on their way to the mainland to hunt down a rumored ancient Draconyth civilization when the ship sank during a fast moving storm. With no other family to take her in, her short term stay with her parent's friend, Brima the Ribbinynh, became permanent.
Used to moving around with her parents, it took Avarae some time to settle into the routine of the Ribbinynh settlement in the Lantern Light Woods. She learned to take care of the tadpoles along with Brima and become best friends with Doran, most likely the son of a tale weaver as his tall tales to get them out of trouble were as exaggerated as they were entertaining. As they grew older, their youthful exploits were the source of much head wagging and discrete laughter.
Everyone must grow up though and it was no different for Doran and Avarae. Doran moved from tadpole to adult and began his trade in song weaving, leaving Avarae to wonder what the future held for her. The songs, dances, and poetry along with the peaceful rhythm of the Ribbinynh settlement could not settle the restlessness growing inside her. The peaceful life she once enjoyed began to grate more and more as the seasons passed.
Then, just after her 22nd birthday, a letter arrived during a full moon. Not for her, of course. She knew no one outside of the grotto where she was raised. Instead, it was for Brima, which piqued Avarae's curiosity as her foster mother rarely received letters. And, to fan the flames of her curiosity even more, Brima refused to share whatever news the letter held.
So, while Brima tended to the tadpoles, Avarae snuck into her foster mother's room and read the letter. A djinn named Kuffa claimed to have seen someone matching Avarae's mother's description striding out of Zenaiv City and into the White Sand Sea. And, as stated in the missing person's notice he saw in Sol City, Kuffa requested that Brima send him the distressingly small reward to an inn located there.
Stunned, it took Avarae the rest of the day to determine what to do. Making up her mind, she confronted Brima. After taking Avarae to task about prying into other's affairs, Brima confessed that she never believed that Ailmar and Etreh drowned. Something was very wrong with the storm that blew in that day but she could never find out what. Despite the evidence, Brima posted a missing person notification in various cities, including Sol City, just in case. Her hope had run out years ago though and it surprised her just as much as Avarae that Etreh, her mother, had been seen.
Despite Brima's warning that Kuffa was most likely lying, Avarae was not to be deterred. Her growing restlessness ate at her, and, for once, she was sure that the Moon Goddess had a plan for her: to find her parents.
Armed with this new information and a sense of destiny, Avarae gave a tearful goodbye to Brima, Dolan, and the rest of the Ribbinynh community and headed to Sol City. Her confidence upon entering the large city, however, with its hustle and bustle, strange smells and stranger peoples, flagged quickly. After a day long search for the inn from the letter, she discovered that Kuffa was no longer in residence and had left for Zenaiv City recently.
Determined to follow him, Avarae asked around for directions to the city and was summarily laughed out of inns and gatherings. It was, eventually, apparent to her as it was glaringly to others: she was woefully underprepared for a life of adventuring. So, stiffening her spine (like her mother taught her), being kind (like her father said to), and keeping her knives sharp (like Brima showed her), she's determined to train hard so she can brave the desert and discover what her parents were up to and, if the Moon Goddess is really on her side, find them alive.
