Appearance:
A bit under 8-foot tall stands Lumen, a dragonkin painted with colors reminiscent of the sands she hails from. Her eyes are the color of a golden sunset with white pupils that most find too intense to stare directly at. Gold markings decorate her eyes, snout, and back. Her belly is a lighter tan, contrasting with the dark gold-yellow of the rest of her scales. The most eye-catching part of her is the curled back horns that truly look like bars of gold. Don't stare at them in the sun or you might just go blind.

Any clothes she wears are either topless or have backless tops to accommodate her wings. She prefers clothing she can move around in, so either very form-fitting or very loose clothing. Also loves colorful clothing, but is partial to reds and blues.
Personality:
Lumen is of the confident sort and assured of her own sense of self. She doesn't much worry about what others think of her and only focuses on what she deems as important. She's a bit vain, as her golden horns are her pride and joy and she enjoys things such as jewelry and fashionable clothing (even if her idea of clothing is much more revealing than most). Despite her appearance and somewhat overconfident attitude, Lumen isn't a shallow person. In fact, she loves to boost other people up and cheer them on as long as they're, y'know, decent people. However, Lumen does have an introverted side. Most of her life was spent alone in the desert, so she needs some time alone after a while of socializing.

History:
Lumen is a member of a family of wandering dragonkin called the Aurumihxir. A small, isolated clan that keeps its location secret amongst the endless sand. For most of her childhood, Lumen was raised alone by her parents. When old enough, her parents would take her on their supply trips to Zeinav City once a month. Lumen fell in love with the sights of the city as a child and often questioned why her clan did not live there. Why could she not make friends with the kids in the city? Her resentment towards her clan only grew larger as she grew older and came to a head when she turned 15 and was told the secrets of her clan.

The Aurumihxir are a clan of dragonkin who believe they are descended from a divine golden dragon that ruled the lands of Zeinav before the empire of Charon came to be. The clan thinks that long ago there was a luscious green kingdom in the land known today as the Zeinav Desert. However, for unknown reasons, the divine dragon fought with the gods. The land of Zeinav was decimated because of it and supposedly the dragon god fell into a deep slumber beneath the sand to recover from its lost battle. The Aurumihxir tribe waits for the time when the dragon will awaken to lead them once again and bring back the fertile lands of the past.
Lumen was not impressed by this story. An argument broke out between her and the rest of the clan, including her parents. Lumen argued that living in isolation was pointless and that imprisoning themselves in the desert would do nothing to bring the divine dragon back or restore a supposed lost kingdom. In a fit, she ran into the night and traveled for days to reach the city. Of course, when she arrived at the city, she immediately regretted leaving her family behind. But when she tried to search for her tribe, she found that the clan had moved locations without leaving behind a clue for her.
Not knowing how to find them again, Lumen traveled back to Zeinav City to wait for a member of the clan to visit for the monthly supply trip. She was surprised to find that her parents were waiting for her in the city already with the news that the Aurumihxir have decided to banish Lumen from the clan on grounds of blasphemy. Having had such a bad argument with her parents, Lumen was surprised to learn that they decided to join her in banishment.
Today, Lumen's parents run a business of escorting people across the desert and brokering trade between the city and the other various desert peoples. Lumen became a tailor and clothing designer. She keeps tabs on her old clan on the side through the other desert tribes' rare sitings of the gold dragonkin, as the Aurumihxir stopped sending people for supplies in the city. She researches ways to reclaim and revitalize the Zeinav desert, deep down hoping to break her clan from their self-isolation.
Fun facts:
- Lumen favors her own homebrew wine special to her clan called Scorcher Wine. It's made from the fruit of a cactus called the Moon Fire Cactus. The cactus has a bluish-green color and has the peculiar behavior of lighting itself up with white flames. The flames are only quenched at night when the cactus blooms white flowers from the flames. Those flowers mature into fruits once a month. The process of attaining these fruits is tedious, and the fruits themselves are toxic to most races so the wine is almost entirely exclusive to the Aurumihxir.
- Moon Fire Fruit tastes like a peach mixed with pomegranate and has a slightly chilly undertone like aloe. Scorcher Wine usually tastes sweet and tart and leaves a lingering freshness inside the mouth.
- Lumen will pray when no one's looking. Even though she's skeptical of her clan's tales, she still respects her ancestors and will pray occasionally to both them and the gods.
- Lumen will often pick up people who are smaller than her when greeting them with a cheek nuzzle. She does this with her father, who is significantly smaller than her and her mother, as male dragonkin tend to be. Although Lumen is also very tall by draconyhn standard.
- Lumen's goal for the Zeinav desert is much larger than you think.
