Thalia had a list of favorite places at this point of her journey. She’d been moving from place to place for about two months now, and after one semi-drunken decision she decided to go to the Capitol Landing on a ship. Sol City was threatening to fall off the list.
The days leading up to arriving were a blur, but in short she was stuck in Sol City before she knew it. She absolutely detested it here. Luckily, she had gathered just enough money to send some of it to her parents and some to afford a few days on the island, so she had some time to see the sights. This wasn’t to say that she was happy about this, in fact Thalia was a little more than pissed off. The people in Sol City were usually decent enough to ignore her, gods forbid, but the ones who didn’t wound up getting spat at.
Currently, she was leaned against a wall outside the inn she had checked into, drinking from her gourd with one hand and looking at her money bag. She probably had just enough to get by, but right now Thalia was starting to seriously consider swindling someone out of their coin. She didn’t have a lot of money for anything but “necessities”, alcohol not fitting into that equation. That wasn’t good for her sanity.
Thalia sighed, her head thunking against the white brick of the building and closing her eye. This was fixing to be an exhausting few days. Maybe if she wrote her father…no, the hell did she have to do that for? He already got his money, and he wasn’t giving that up even if she were desperate. Groaning, Thalia opened her eye, staring at the sky above and just barely catching a small group of sun elves glaring at her. She dropped her gaze to them, glaring until they scurried off. Thalia frowned, staring back up the sky, irritated. Was this always so damn hard?
