Apple was sitting on a box in the Gold Port, swinging their good leg slowly. People moved around, the crowded docks making it hard to get anywhere quickly. A small group of people looked confused, continuing to head in one direction before stopping and turning into another. The map they held was constantly being turned to another angle, being passed around in an attempt to figure out where they were going. The young astralblood was watching them as they bumped into each other and people. They seemed a bit clumsy and very confused, trying to find their way out of the port. Apple was debating stepping in, as they all just kept getting even more turned around and lost. Although Apple did find this somewhat fun to watch, seeing tourists trying to find their way around. Apple quickly made up their mind as the tourists began walking in yet another wrong direction, hopping off their box and wincing as they landed.
They limped themselves over, their left leg being of no use to them as they walked. It was dragging behind them, twisting and broken in various places. Their splint was stained red and pretty messy, it not really working very effectively anymore. Apple stopped in front of the group, who was now staring at this small child with incredibly confused looks on them.
"Do you all need help?" They asked, and the group exchanged a look. Apple figured they didn't want any help then, but the person in front of them spoke up in a different language. Their tone was very confused, Apple could tell they didn't know what Apple had said. Oh dear, they can't speak common huh.
Apple struggled to balance on one leg, trying to keep the very bad looking left leg off the ground. Glances kept being shot at their leg, which was quite obviously giving them concern. The tourists looked rather awkward, and Apple was just standing there like everything was perfectly normal.

Description: Most people in Charon can understand or speak even a minor amount of common, however there are random instances that pop up where a translator or interpreter is needed. You find yourself in a position where you need to help a group or set of individuals communicate with each other, as one side is unable to understand the other. This can be a business conversation, a simple ask for directions or something much more complicated. You don't even need to fully understand them yourself, just do your best!

Danae was tired. She's had an awfully long (and painful) day and simply wants to collapse somewhere and sleep for hopefully a few days. The thoughts of blissful sleep keep her going. Walking down the somewhat populated street is Danae, an incredibly tall woman standing at about 6'5 in casual clothing.
The clothes are tight fitting and long-sleeved, but flexible to not hinder mobility. Flowing from her head is long, snow white hair that looks extremely well taken care of. She has a pair of blue eyes that almost feel like they see right through you and hold knowledge beyond imagination despite her age seeming to be around early 20's. Slung on her back is an incredibly ornate looking halberd that is longer than she is tall. The blade is made of Adamantine and the blade edge is engraved in Celestial and inlaid with silver, seeming to be various prayers to Solaris. The shaft is a dark black oak with leather wrapped around the lower portions to act as a grip, and more of the engravings wrap themselves around the shaft, spiraling downward.
Danae seems to almost have an angelic look to her, and her body looks incredibly well built. She continues to walk down the street, lost in her own mind until she overhears something. "Is the kid okay? Their leg looks really bad. What are they saying? I told you we should've tried to learn the language before coming here!" The strangers say in what sounds like Elvish. Her concern is piqued when they mentioned a hurt kid, so she diverts her course, turning toward the group.
Walking up, Danae clearly sees the kid in question with a very broken leg. The mere fact that they're even standing right now is impressive. The splint Danae assumes they created themselves looks like it worked for all of five minutes before becoming useless. Something else to note is that the kid has a familiar feeling to them. It's been a long, long time since Danae has recognized it, but it takes no time at all to recognize it. Astralblood.
Walking up to the group of four and the hurt kid, she looks to the group for a moment before speaking in fluent Elvish. "Heard you were having language trouble? I'll help you in a moment, right now the kid needs help, so I'll be back, alright?" She says calmly before kneeling down to the kid. Danae is far enough away to not intrude on their personal space, and has a friendly and disarming smile.
"Hey, how're you doing?" she asks softly. "You look pretty hurt there. I can help you heal that up good as new." She extends a hand in greeting. "My name is Danae. What's yours?" Her words have a genuine sincerity and almost contagious calmness to them - something that one can only really get after a lot of practice.

Apple turned their head to the stranger, listening to them. "I'm Apple." They replied, wobbling slightly on their good leg. "And I'll be fine, it doesn't hurt that bad." The young Astralblood said, doing a horrible job at lying. One look at how broken their leg was could tell you it wasn't fine at all. There was a slight note of pain in Apples voice as they talked, and they were refusing to make eye contact. This wasn't helping their lie all that much.
The wind was blowing softly, just a gentle breeze that shifted over the streets. The sun shone over the streets, a pleasant day was ahead for a majority of the residents in Sol City. Not everyone could have a good day, of course, but things were looking good for many. If it wasn't for the noise of the city, it would be quite nice and calming for a day.
Apple stood there, trying to keep their balance while letting Danae speak. They were oddly calm for the situation they were in, face mostly blank. Except for the sourness they held from the pain, that was an obvious thing. The group of lost travelers were looking at Danae and Apple, speaking quickly to each other in words Apple couldn't understand.
"Maybe we should go, we can figure this map out." One of them said. "No! The woman said she could help us, and I just want to get to that drink place our friends were talking about." Another replied quickly. "Both of you, quiet down! Myrdin, what do you think we should do?" The 3rd spoke up. "Oh, I don't know, why do you always ask me for your arguments?" The last one, Myrdin, complained. "Well, its not my fault you never want to respond!" "And you're the ones telling us to be quiet?" The 2nd one says. The talking quickly dissolves into a flurry of angry whispering as they argue, at first trying to decide on what to do but them just complaining about each other.

It was painfully clear to Danae that the kid - for lack of a better term - was full of shit. The leg was bent at odd angles, the splint looks like it's only exacerbating the problem and she can hardly keep the pain out of her voice. Danae's attitude took on a new tone. Not motherly, but more 'sisterly' per-se. "You ought to get better at lying if you want to try to pass that one off, Apple. Sit down, we'll get it fixed up."
It's incredibly rare for Danae to firmly say that something is 'a first'. Live as long as Danae has, you see almost everything, but this situation goes to prove that life has many, many tricks up it's sleeve. Seeing a kid in this state is awful, and her voice brooks no argument when she asks Apple to sit down, and thankfully the kid complies.
"Thank you. Now, Apple, why don't you tell me how this happened to you?" Danae asks as she begins very delicately removing the splint off her leg. This proves to serve a dual purpose: Firstly, it satisfies Danae's curiosity, and secondly it keeps Apple talking and thus distracted. The removal of the splint takes a bit of time as Danae takes extra care not to jostle the busted leg. Danae continues to keep the kid talking, asking about recent events, hobbies and whatnot as she works.
Once the splint is off, the absurdly tall woman is now at a conundrum. She can heal this with Major Healing, but from personal experience, the pain isn't dulled of bones shifting back into place. It's the lesser of two evils, and she only wishes that there were some way to dull pain, but the best she can do is distract. Thankfully, the pain doesn't last long, only hurting for about twenty seconds before fading. It's not a pleasant twenty seconds, though.
In an effort to distract, Danae looks Apple in the eye and smiles. "So, you're Astralblood, aren't you?" Her smile takes on an almost childish, cheeky quality as she glances at the group with the map. They all appear to be far too focused squabbling with one another to divert focus to the duo, so Danae returns her attention to Apple.
Behind Danae's head, a halo appears, however it seems wrong. The common golden glow of the halo is missing, instead it's dulled and almost muffled - repressed. The ring is shattered into three primary shards, the two smaller ones drifting away from the primary shard. Danae has no idea if Apple would know the signs of an angel fallen from grace, but what she's showing Apple now is exactly what anybody needs to know exactly that.
A moment passes, and once Apple's attention is firmly on the halo, Danae holds Apple's leg gently and casts the healing spell1, upset at the fact she can do nothing for the pain. Once the spell is cast, the halo vanishes and the leg begins to reform and realign, an awful grinding noise clear as day as it does so. The healing process itself takes mere seconds, but the pain itself doesn't.
"You're okay, Apple, you're doing incredible. It'll be over soon, I promise." Danae says in support. It truly sucks seeing something like this, but as stated before, it's the lesser of two evils.

Apple answers the question, looking down. "There was this painter and some people stuck in a paint world and me and someone else got them all out. A big monster thing hurt my leg." They replied, shrugging. Then they started answering the other questions given to them, giving a weak smile as they talked.
"I don't know." Apple shrugged again at the last question, keeping their gaze downwards. They didn't really know much about races, just that they existed and were all different. Too much for Apple to keep track of, and they didn't really care. They had small little wings that couldn't do anything, but that was about it.
Apple looked at the halo curiously, then sharply inhaled at the pain. Tears welled in their eyes as they gripped their hands together tightly, pressing their lips into a thin line as well. They gave a shaky exhale and kept their eyes intensely trained on the ground. Apple squeezed their eyes shut and waited a couple more moments before it hurt less. They opened their eyes again and looked at Danae. "Is it over?"

"A painting?" Danae asks curiously. She's heard of dimensional magics but a painter using it for their art? That was just praying for an accident to occur. "You know what? You're braver than most people, Apple. You did good." She says with a warm smile.
"Astralbloods can look like any other race - the only difference being that they are of divine blood, no matter how distant. You do strike me as an Astralblood, though." She said before pulling her halo trick, following it up with her Major Healing. Throughout the healing process, Danae isn't entirely sure what to say, so she waits until Apple finishes healing before answering their question.
"It is. You did beautifully," She says, genuinely impressed with how the kid handled it. The frankly disturbing sound of bones realigning got the other peoples attention as they looked on in mild alarm and horror. Danae helps Apple stand up carefully, letting them adapt in their own time. "Now, the bone may be healed, but it's still fragile. I would avoid kicking anything particularly hard, unless you want me to turn up again." Danae smiles before turning back toward the small group of tourists, smoothly switching into another language.
"Apologies for the wait, the matter is taken care of now. Now, where were we?"

Apple stands up as the group continues staring silently for a couple more moments, then one of them speaks up to Danae. "We're looking for a drink place. The... Brass Dragon, I think it was called?" Then the group starts arguing on the name for a moment, before the person who spoke makes them stop. "Either its The Brass Dragon or its not! We need to get somewhere." Annoyed mumbles of agreement are heard.
They looked at Danae, hoping she'd know where the place was. Apple was watching this, incredibly confused. They had no idea what was being said, but it was also somewhat funny to them to see the obvious arguing. This group was really good at it, apparently.
While Danae was busy with the group, Apple turned to start walking away. The leg still hurt, but not nearly as bad as before. They didn't have anything else to help with, so they turned their head and said a "Thanks" before walking away. Seemed to have a bad habit of just disappearing into the crowds. They could easily hear the group getting back into another argument about directions. Apple hoped Danae had that all covered on her own. Hopefully.

"Ah, yes, I know what you mean. The nearby road is the main road, follow it down to the left for a few minutes, should have a sign out front. Hard to miss." Danae explains with an easy smile. Hearing Apple say their thanks and begin walking away, Danae turns her head toward the kid, her smile turning warm.
"Do keep safe, yes? I'll be around, so don't be afraid to come up and say hi if you spot me." She says, waving as they walk away. Her attention re-centers on the tourists, continuing with pleasantries for a few more minutes.
After the tourists walk away, Danae scales the nearby wall and begins looking through the crowds to find Apple. It was difficult trying to spot such a small person in a crowd, but eventually she found them. For the following few hours to sunset, Danae simply watched over Apple as they went about their business, ensuring no harm came to them.
Danae isn't entirely sure why she does this. Concern for a child, perhaps? Whatever Danae's reasoning, she can't quite seem to be able to get away from who she once was. Looking over somebody like a guardian angel is almost habitual at this point.
As the sun sets, Danae pulls herself away from her self-appointed job and returns to the tavern where she has a room rented. She feels oddly pleased about how the day went, a rarity in these recent decades.
Danae silently hopes she meets Apple again. Perhaps in better circumstances.
