Apple walked around, searching for something to keep themselves occupied. People moved around, some having a destination while others just wandered. Apple was one of the wanderers, having no set destination currently. Some strangers were talking about a festival, and how more people were needed to help with the advertising. Seemed interesting, even if Apple wouldn't help. And right as they thought that, someone broke off from a group and approached them. "Hey! Young kid, you seem like you know where you're going, mind to help us out with this?" They asked Apple, crouching down to their height. Apple tilted their head and shrugged. "For posting advertisements?" Apple replied, and got a nod. Giving a nod, they were led to the group with a few looks of curiosity thrown towards them. "The kids gonna help us out." The person explained. They got a couple nods, and a stack of papers were handed to Apple, full of various sorts of advertisements. They glanced at them, and then back to the group. They knew Sol City pretty well, but it seemed the adults wanted someone to go with them. As Apple started to speak up, and say they could go alone, someone else caught the groups attention. A different person left the group for a moment and went up to speak to them. "Hey, you care to help us out with a project? We'll pay you a bit for it, just gotta post flyers and stuff around Sol City for the festival."

Rosen looked a little surprise. He didn't have on a disguise this time around so the flowers that sprouted off his body where exposed, the dagger that had made its home in his undead head was ever present. The only thing that was covered really was the rose replacing his right eye, hidden behind his black hair. Perhaps this person thought this look was a costume of sorts? Regardless, Rosen wasn't about to throw away this opportunity to increase his standing with the general populous.
"Of course I'll help!" He said in excitement. "Great, now if you could, please go with this child. Wouldn't want them out and about alone." The person replied, not really paying any mind to the sylvan's strange appearance. They handed Rosen a stack of flyers for the upcoming festival and pointed to the young Apple. Rosen approached, a little worried they would be put off by this undying corpse garden but still trying to give off a friendly and charismatic appearance. They put their left hand for a handshake before realizing he was offering his skeletal hand, thin vines grown around some of the bone. Rosen immediately swaps hands to their right fleshy one. "Hiya little one. My name's Rosen Peace. What's yours?"

Apple looked up at the stranger, slowly extending a hand. They were curious and a tad afraid of this strangers appearance, but they'd rather be nice. "Apple." They replied quietly, shaking the hand. Clutching the stack of papers they had been given, they looked up at the tall strangers around them. This was making them feel a bit nauseous, being around so many random people.
"Well then! Lets get going, we'll meet back here in... lets say three hours?" The person who seemed to be the leader of this group said, and they left with a couple others to signal it was time to split up. Groups started forming into two or three people, and they all left the area. That left Apple and Rosen alone, and Apple looked back to Rosen.
"I guess we should go?" They stated, the last bit of their sentence getting higher into a question. They were hoping Rosen was going to take them both to somewhere that wasn't the marketplace, since that already was getting attention. A couple of the groups had been taking different ways to get there, so they figured somewhere else would be better to go to. Maybe the housing district, or The Brass Dragon. Those had a good amount of people at them.

Rosen gave a kind smile as he began walking towards the housing district. He figured that would be the best place for posters besides the market district as the foot traffic there would get a lot of eyes on the poster. Plus, the market district would have a few guards there and from his past experience back in Thunderhoof village, it was probably a good idea not to let them see him. Though, he did have a few questions for the child named Apple. ”Soooo, whats a lil duder doing in the capital? Aren’t your parents worried? Oh, and don’t worry about my look by the way. I’m only bite on Mondays… Oh wait-“ Rosen spoke, joking at that last bit.
As the two neared the several golden buildings that dot the housing district, Rosen began walking to posts and walls to start applying these posters. Placing one flat on the wall, he took his skeletal hand out and placed his boney finger on the top left corner of the poster. 1Growing from somewhere within the sleeves of his pink sweater, a thorny vine slowly sprouts out, crawling along his arm. It pierces into the corner of the paper and slightly into the wall. Doing so to the other corner, he turns back to Apple. ”Pretty cool right? I have no idea how but I just started being able to do this.”

Apple gave a shrug as Rosen asked about why they were there. Who knew, they didn't even know. And their parents couldn't be worried, they already decided there was no way they could be. The rest of the walk was continued in silence, until they approached the housing district. Then, they watched as Rosen nailed a flyer to a post with some thorns.
"Yeah, thats cool." They said quickly, taking some tape they were given and attaching a flyer to another post. They let them both continue moving, going deeper into the housing district. The sun shone off the golden walls of the homes, making them shimmer in the light.
Apple stayed pretty quiet, just focusing on doing the task they were given as they walked. They let the both of them work in silence, only the sounds of the loud city keeping it from being pure quiet. It was peaceful, however, and they continued to walk through the district.
It was almost second nature to Apple, walking through this part of the city. They walked here often, usually looking at the houses with a strange longing. They've survived a year alone in this city, and rarely ventured out of it unless they felt it was needed. They were still alive, with this stuck up city who only cared for themselves. It was their home, the entire city was.
Yet they still wanted something more. A family to return to, to ask how their day was. Someone to comfort them when they got scared from a loud crack of lightning. A house to keep warm in on the cold winter nights. They wanted this greatly, and though they knew it could never happen, they let themselves dream.

Rosen stayed quiet after their response to his questions. He could tell the kid didn't want to talk to him. Despite that, he saw some similarities between that kid and himself. He remembered his first few weeks merely wandering the King's Valley. He was lucky to have the voices that stayed with him as well as meeting his eyepatch buddy, Thalia. This kid, however, didn't seem to have anyone, at least not currently around them. Rosen didn't want that for them. He was going to keep trying, but how?
As the two reached the end of the housing district, an hour of work complete, Rosen heard those familiar voices once more. They were telling him to try something new, something a little strange. As he placed another on the door of a home, using his vines to keep it in, a handful of seeds fell out of his sleeve and onto his hand... They wanted him to do what? Well, when have they ever led Rosen astray? Turning to the kid, he called out, "Oi Apple, catch!" As he called out to them, he flicked one of the seeds into the air towards them. 1In midair, the seed began to grew tiny arms and legs, the face sprouting a miniature leaf mask with small black dots for the eyes.

Apple turned and caught the seedling in their hand, opening it to reveal the little fellow. Apple looked at Rosen, a bit confused. "Thanks?" They said, not sure what they were meant to do with the little dude. They placed the seedling on their head, and continued walking until they both exited the housing district. They had no idea why they always liked going there, since it hurt.
Without waiting for input on where to go from there, Apple started to quickly walk away from the housing district and began heading towards The Brass Dragon. All they felt like doing was finishing this up and getting some food or something like that. They weren't checking to see if Rosen was following behind them, just moving forward towards The Brass Dragon.
Coming to a stop in front of the building, they started taping flyers down onto different posts and things near the building. Now Apple checked to see if Rosen was behind them, scanning the crowd for him. They couldn't see him just yet through the thick crowd, as people walked through the streets and into buildings. This wasn't great, not at all. What would they tell the people who they were helping?

Rosen followed Apple with a little distance between them. So far, all of his attempts to lighten the mood have failed. He knew he wasn’t the most inviting figure, being a literal zombie, but still! It definitely got the sylvan slightly downtrodden… Though maybe it’d be better to just leave them be. Not everyone wants to talk about their issues. As he continued discussing with himself and the voices in his head as to what he could do, he noticed the particular problem he placed himself in. In his absent-minded walk, he got lost in a crowd, completely losing the kid. ”Ah son of a shepherd… Ok to be fair, you didn’t tell me anything… I don’t how to track that seed thingy!” Rosen argued to what looked like himself. As he did, he heard that familiar and unwanted sound coming from behind him. The heavy metal footfalls drew closer as he sighed in annoyance. “Stop! You monster!” The guard shouted, now spotting the obviously undead elf. The crowd turned to face the sylvan, some in confusion and others in slight fear. ”Uhhh, nah tis a costume-“ He immediately threw half of the posters at the face of the guard, the other half into the air as it spread out over the crowd. Taking this chance, Rosen began to run towards the nearest building: The Brass Dragon.

Apple turned to see Rosen booking it towards The Brass Dragon, and they stood there slightly confused. Then they saw the guard chasing after them, the metal boots clanking on the ground. What happened exactly? No time for questions, though, because they were both nearing Apple. They walked towards Rosen and went behind him, pulling out a flyer and stepping towards the guard. The guard glanced down at Apple and to the paper. "Want a flyer?" Apple asked innocently, as if they didn't know the guard was in the middle of chasing someone. The guard frowned. "I'm busy, if you can't notice, kid!" He snapped. Apple gave puppy dog eyes to him, and held out the flyer a little more. "Please?" The guard grumbled and snatched the flyer, putting it away and beginning to run again. Apple got in his way, though. "Can you read it? I wanna make sure you read it." The guard, increasingly annoyed, whipped it out and skimmed it. He was wasting precious time with this kid, and he didn't like it. "Okay, now let me move so I can catch the monster!"
Apples eyes widened slightly in fake fear. "A monster? Why would there be a monster here?" The guard sighed in irritation. "Yes, a monster. A weird zombie thing. You know? The scary things that attack young children like you." Apple could do a decent fake cry, so they put their head in their hands and starting wailing. That drew attention perfectly. People shot glares at the guard and looked at Apple awkwardly.
The guard now had a problem. People were surrounding them, making it hard to shove his way through, and it'd look bad if he just left the kid crying. But there was still the ''monster'' to deal with. "Hey, kid, don't worry, I'll keep you safe." He quickly tried to cover and comfort them. "BUT YOU SAID THERE WAS A MONSTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!" Apple wailed again.
Apple kept up the shenanigans of forcing the guard to stay there by fake crying, before finally sniffling and hanging their head. The people around them gave a sigh of relief as they stopped crying and shot a few more glares at the guard before hurrying off. The guard sighed as well, pat Apples shoulder, and then looked around to find Rosen.

Rosen ran and ran, faster and faster before ducking into an alleyway. He hid behind a box, peering over it to spot any guards that had followed him... Nothing.
He laid his back against the wall and closed his eye. "I probably shouldn't have come here... Ya, I figured. I just thought maybe we'd meet some more nice people like we did the first time... I know..." Rosen sat there, talking to what looked like himself for a long time. There wasn't much he could do now. He threw those flyers away as a distraction so its not like he could continue with his job. Hells, even if he wanted to, security would be on alert now that someone saw his undead mug.
After a bit, a peculiar noise came to his ears. It was an odd sound, he couldn't quite place where he'd heard it from before but... something about it held a hint of familiarity. Rhythmic it was, as it came from beyond the alleyway and onto what looked to be a little park. He couldn't quite see from where he was so he stood up and walked up to the edge of the alley, peering around it to see what was playing. Stood on the side of the road, a man was there flicking his hand a peculiar looking item. Though when he did, that noise emitted. It interested the undead. He wanted to try, though how could he go over without being seen- Conveniently, sitting atop a barrel of various trash: A raggedy old black cloak. Rosen held it up. It smelled of sweat and wet dogs but, in this boy's case, what did he have to lose?
Throwing it on, it covered up the flowers that grew off his body. The dagger, however, made the hood impossible. That didn't prevent the sylvan from trying though as he pulled the hood on, the knife cutting into the fabric. He smiled a little. It weren't perfect but it'll do.
Rosen marched on to the man. "'Scuse me. What is that you're doing?" "Just playing the lute m'boy. There something you need?" The man didn't even question Rosen's odd appearance, strangely enough. The undead didn't question it. "Actually, I was wondering if I could try." The man smiled, handing the instrument without worry. "Be my guest lad. Always love when another is interested in the art of music." Music huh... He strummed the strings, feeling the vibrations of the chord within the lute as that sound played. He wasn't sure why but just that action... held so much familiarity to it that he couldn't quite place. As if he done this entire life, Rosen began flicking his fingers across the lute, playing a little ditty.

The guard, seeing no one, hurried off in the direction he had seen him go. Apple gave him a a head start, before following after. He weaved through the crowds, although most moved to let him past, and Apple followed with light strides. With the crowds, it was easier to hide in plain sight, though they wished they had a hood to pull over their head just for protection.
The guard passed two people, one with a lute and a hood over their head. Apple squinted for a moment and then stopped, letting the guard move on without them following. They could see the knife pointing out from the hood, giving Rosen away. Walking up to the two quickly, Apple stopped in front of the pair.
"That sounds pretty." Apple mentioned as they came to a halt. "How long have you been playing?" They glanced over their shoulder to make sure the guard was totally gone, and seeing no armor confirmed that he was gone. With a smile they turned their head back to the duo, looking at them both. Rosens cloak did a good job at hiding his features, but there was the dagger there still. And the skeleton hand as well. But if it was enough to not let the guard notice, it should be enough to hide.

"Ah, hey little dude! Was worried you were all alone for a moment. Sorry for leaving you like that." His hand moved slower, the strum strings now humming a much softer melody as if lulling a child to slumber. "As far as I know, I've been playing this for as long as a minute ago." He joked but if he was honest, even he couldn't understand his affinity for the lute and the strange familiarity for handling such an instrument. "Well for a beginner, it ain't half bad... Oh, whats that there parchment you got there kiddo?" An idea popped into the undead's head, a grin form with the brewing plan. He looked towards Apple with wink, or as best as a wink could be signified with one eye. "Well sir, its flyers meant for the Summer Festival. We were supposed to put them up around the housing district but a uh..." Rosen paused, looking away while thinking up a good excuse. "A thief up and attacked me. I panicked and threw my stack at him but my few words friend here happens to have a few. Would you mind if I borrowed your lute for a little longer? I have a pretty great plan to get some people to notice these." "Go for it friend, just take good care of it and return afterwards." He nodded before crouching down to Apple and begun talking in a whisper.
"Here's the plan. I'm gonna do a little performance and bring a nice crowd over. The amount of people around us will hide me and most guards tend not to be interested in the arts anyways. With that many people, we can get more eyes on our flyers when you pass them out and show them. Saves us some walking to. Ready? Break."
Clearing his throat, Rosen gripped the instrument tight in his hands. He looked to Apple with a reassuring smile as he consulted the voices of the past. Ok so I don't know a single song. Any suggestions?... That could work... Just tell me what to do and guide me a little for my mistakes... Alright, here goes nothing. With a long inhale... he flicked his boney fingers across the chords, the other hand dancing along the frets as a faster paced song began to call out. A couple of people turned their heads to the noise, though hardly stuck around to hear the rest. Rosen bit their lip, a little sad that his idea wasn't working out quite well until... an improvised edition struck. He looked to Apple with a smile as he mouthed "Watch this."
An effervescent glow of a grassy green color started to release from the very instrument the undead was playing. It was an energy, unknown yet familiar like a forgotten friendly face, that emitted from it. There was a single word that could possible define what this aura gave: Life. 1Nearby, the sun burnt trees had slowly started to regain color, foliage sprouting like magic to offer lovely shade in the warm weather. The soil betwixt the paved walkways and roads sprouted out a number of different flowers of a varying color. To add to it all, a happy harmonious voice rang from one living garden. "Why do I have to stay here on the ground? Its overrated. The cityscape escapes you with a sound. Its delineated. I waited at the station for an hour, but I won't make it. You take off on an updraft by the tower and you overtake it-" The sight of sudden forestation and flowery garnered much more attention this time around. Excited children and curious adults alike began to come forward now, circling around the trio as Rosen continued to play and sing. He looked towards Apple as he kept his song going, giving a look to signify it was their turn.

Apple watched Rosen sing, then when given the signal they began walking around to hand flyers out. It was working well. Rosen's skill was amazing the crowd, drawing more and more people in. People took the flyers and glanced them over, before putting them away. Apple was quickly running out of the flyers, and so when they handed out the last one they went back to Rosen.
Slowly, people started to leave. They listened to the song for a bit, then began to walk away. Either alone, with someone else, or herding some children around to get to their next location. The crowd never totally left while Rosen played, new people joining as other ones left the circle. For a while, everything was nice and calm. People happily chattered while children weaved through the crowds, playing games together.
Few people came up to Rosen, but those who did offered a solar or two to him, while Apple stood nearby watching for any guards circling back around. There weren't any, but they were questioning the logic of drawing attention to themselves when they were meant to be hiding from the guards. Nothing had happened though, so Apple just stood there quietly and kept watching.
