"We probably don't need to worry about it, we have a pretty good ride out of here. Halcyon is only a minute or so away." He looks up to the sky and lets out a little whistle. A cry can be heard over the skies as the bird starts to circle back towards their meeting place.
"If it's just a little pick pocket we can toss them a few coins and call it a day, ya know?" Gerhart stretches his arms as they leave, for some reason libraries felt so claustrophobic to him. Maybe it was all the shelves that made it feel way more packed in than a normal building.
"We shouldn't need to go anywhere else. I can reach out to Shaa for some Fighter's Guild help and I bet Astrid knows something about the con...sort....eeyum....whatever the potion guys calls themselves. I just figured we'd go to the Mage's Guild cause I don't know anybody in that......What do you think this tagalong we got is after?"

"I couldn't say for sure, but if you feel it's no concern, then I'll ignore it for now." She replied, continuing down the way while keeping her senses tuned outward. The pair strolled through town, tailed by their mysterious shadow. Shuna moved off to circle around and spot for the pair, hopping up a fence, then onto the roof of a low stall. The stealthy feline worked her way up the buildings with practiced ease.
"Why don't you deliver the next one, I'd like to stay outside for a while... see what happens, if our mysterious friend is going to make a move." Suggested the shaman, who wanted some fresh air as well as to keep an eye on things. Shuna chirped in the distance, an odd sharp sound similar to the call of a cheetah. Though it was softer by a great deal, the jungle cat still signaled she'd found the shadowing figure. Taki couldn't tell much more than distance and relative direction, they were being cautious.
While the weather was brisk, it wasn't unbearable as the shaman found a sunny spot to meditate and keep her senses tuned in. She unfurled a woven wool rug, in a pattern of pink, light blue and white stripes. While it saddened the her to be reminded of her lost companion, she was also grateful that she'd been able to experience the joy of Kurobe's presence. Having marveled at the colors when they'd come home the first time, she waited til late that winter, just as spring was beginning to bloom before shearing the mass of fluff from her fallen companion. She'd spent weeks between adventures visiting with other shepherds and weavers to learn the best ways to care for her fuzzy companion and make use of the materials in a practical fashion.
Steadying her breathing, she reached out with her senses once more. Slipping into a trance, she waited, enjoying the sun's warmth, the smell of fresh grass and communing with the local spirits.

"If you say so." He smiles and just kind of shrugs letting Taki take care of that.
He definitely kept his senses open to anything that might be off about the city, but they had things to do. As much as he'd love to chase this down like a dog chasing its tail, the people back at camp were counting on them to get this done. So, Gerhart hustles over to a messenger service.
Letters are written to Shaa or whoever is at the Fighter's Guild to run things and the head of the Golden Consortium to see if they can rustle up any more help for them. They likely weren't going to be able to send much, but this is the type of situation where anything helps. More healing items would definitely help, if the messenger and the horse can hold out long enough to get said supplies.
Gerhart stays a moment to linger and watch the messenger hawks take off in their own directions. Once confident they are heading in the right direction he lets out a breath and smiles. The ranger turns to make his way through the streets to find Taki once more.
He taps gently on a nearby wall to get her attention and not disturb the mediation. "Our ride should be here if we want to get back. Messages should get there in the next few hours, I told them where the camp was so any response should come right in."

Whoever it'd been made no further moves, so Taki called Shuna back. Glad the situation proved to be nothing, the shaman waited for her familiar and Gerhart to return. When they both returned, she uncurled from her meditation.
"Let's head back then, there's a lot more to be done before this hunt is over." She replied. With Shuna in tow, they made their way back to Halcyon. Taki wondered about the person who'd seemed to be following them around as they walked, but there was not much to be done about it as they left town. At least the situation hadn't escalated, there was a big enough fight on the horizon. Saving their energy to finish the preparations, keep watch and protect the local towns sounded like a wise plan.
She fed Shuna a treat, petting the soft fur of her companion as they awaited Halcyon's arrival. A flying mount was quite handy she thought as the giant Kestrel came soaring into the clearing. Perhaps some day she would be able to afford the cost of her own, though she had her Tidal Serpent for most long journeys. Keiga was a reliable and powerful mount that she got along well with, so any other companions would have to be able to get along with everyone already living with the shaman. This was her first long stint away from home since it'd been completed, and she hoped she would be returning to it intact.

"You're telling me. I think Astrid and I are set to go chase down a few of the smaller ones in the coming days." He offered a hand down to help her up.
Gerhart seemed to have already forgot about their straggler, whether that was good or bad was yet to be seen it seems. There were always weird things in the city and his mind sometimes was far too scattered to pick up on every little thing. He did glance back towards the area Taki had first pointed out, but he couldn't remember why.
Once more he greeted Halcyon with a little headbutt, picking a scrap of his lunch from his feathers. "Let's go Hal, we got places to be!"
He grins and uses his Step of the Wind to hop up little bads of air and into the saddle before helping Taki and Shuna back into the saddle. It wasn't long before they were in the air once more and headed back to camp with the good news. They had secured some allies, importantly some mages to help shore up their defenses and assist with the healing.
