(Captain) Nax
Gender: Nonbinary/Genderfluid
Age: 7 10/8 (they are very bad at math)
Race: Kobold
Nationality: Moonglade
Appearance: Nax is a blue kobold standing just above 2 feet. They are slight and thin, but well-toned from sailing their boat all day every day. Their claws are black, but dulled down a little in order to not tear the ropes accidentally, and from living in a quiet community. They have small nubs of black horns along their eyebrow ridges, down the crown of their head and following their spine to the tip of their tail. They have golden yellow eyes with black slitted pupils. They most commonly wear a loose tan shirt and brown trousers. They stitched together their own patched pirate coat (a notable achievement, as they never learned to sew!) and a “borrowed” pirate captain’s hat that they wear religiously (it is their prized possession)
Personality: Thinks they’re a dangerous and courageous pirate with grand visions of becoming the most fearsome captain in Charon. Is actually a cinnamon roll. Their spirits are usually uncrushably high and they are very curious and adventuresome.
History: Nax was a wee young toddler when their parents accidentally lost them. (i.e. Nax had got curious about something and wandered off from their parents. The something was a tiny green and red frog and it definitely didn’t smell pleasant. But when Nax had gone back to where they supposed they had left their parents, they were nowhere in sight!) Nax wandered the Moonveil forest after that, scrounging for whatever edible food they could find, when suddenly a little village popped up! Using their super sneaky capabilities, Nax started stealing food from the locals of the village and made themselves a super sneaky fortified hideout on the outskirts of the village. They were like a thief in the night! After all, nobody ever would suspect a little kobold to be here! The human folk got more and more careless, leaving out more and more food and soon Nax was never wanting for sustenance! The villagers lived in such fear of Nax’s prowess that they would even leave gifts at Nax’s door, such as food and toys!
One day, Nax even stumbled upon an abandoned boat. They then got a grand idea, thinking of the pictures in one of the little books the humanfolk gifted him. They could be a pirate! They quickly fixed up the little vessel and soon sailed along the streams and rivers running through Moonveil. Nax knew, though, that most of the people here weren’t very wealthy, and Nax also didn’t have a need for treasure. Instead, Nax plundered grains, foods, and trinkets from the terrified villagers, who often shouted, waved, and squeeked in fear of Nax’s very presence! They sometimes wonder deep in the night what happened to their tribe and their parents – but they are also determined to show the might of the mighty kobold by one day ruling all of the rivers of Moonglade, and eventually all of the high seas of Charon!
(The author would like to note: the villagers know exactly what Nax is up to. They are perfectly happy letting Nax “steal” their gifts and all – they see the kobold as a little village mascot.)
