A soft groan escaped the young woman's aching body as she came to consciousness, eyes fluttering open from behind a dirty pair of goggles which sat strapped to the masked woman's face. Her small frame lay face down in the sand, random ocean debris such as shells and sea weed coating her olive green jumpsuit which was currently flooded with salt water. Tiny arms pushed down into the wet sand, trying to lift her body upwards as plagued took in the scene around her, and replayed what had occurred the night before back in her mind.
She had stowed away on a large business vessel the previous night, trying to get her way out of the Crescent Isles after having completed a few of her own personal task. What she failed to realize was that this ship had enemies, pirates lurking off the coast which attacked and raided the ship. There was no way in hell Plague was going to risk her life defending a random merchants ship, so she had done what any sane person would have in her situation, she stowed away aboard the pirates ship instead. Unfortunately the ensuing battle caused both ships to go down, bring crew and cargo beneath the crushing sea. The young alchemist had only managed to get free of the wreckage before being knocked unconscious and swept away.
So here she was, the following morning, washed ashore and completely dazed. Her makeshift plague doctors suit was twisted and flopped to one side, her mask askew on her face. She was trying to collect herself, fixing her suit, collecting her bottles that had been scattered across the beach and gaining some sort of heading as to what to do next. As the girl gathered herself, voices could be heard off in the distance, some sort of crowd having had formed around a large pool of water further up the beach. There were raised voices, arguments and the sounds of splashing loudly coming from this direction, something was obviously going on.
Plague really could have cared less about the disturbance, and had no intentions what so ever in getting wrapped up in it, but she was lost, broke and needed some answers. If anything, this crowd could at least inform her on where in the isles she was and how she could get back to Star Light city. So, she approached, slowly limping towards the masses hoping someone there could help her, and furiously wished she was not about to be wrapped up in another stupid adventure.

Despite being Zeinavian and controling sand to a minor extent, Fish was never too fond of sand. It was shifty and could slow people down, people that aren't Fish who barely sinks beneath the surface thanks to their weight. Same thing with snow.
The beach was a nice place because of the availability of free treasure if one is determined enough to look. So, that's what Fish was doing this morning. They hopped and skittered over the sand to look for any trinkets or baubles that might be of worth. This would be easier if they could invent some sort of device that would detect metals beneath the sand. They could probably pick up a lot more stuff that way.
In the distance they do notice the body on the shore. Bodies are good. People usually have valubles on them. They hop ever closer and closer without making a sound[1] only stopping when they see her rise once more. Damnit....still alive.....well that would be troublesome. They look wounded, maybe if Fish just waits long enough she will die before the others notice.
The aviankin carefully follows behind in her footsteps just waiting for this woman to drop dead and pilfer.

Plague continued to make her way across the beach, heavy water logged boots leaving a clear trail behind the woman. She did not originally notice the small black bird creature tailing her, preoccupied with the pain shooting through her body and the crowd that was getting closer. However as the two moved in an odd unison, it became more apparent that she was being followed. Things already sucked at the moment, so instead of turning and engaging with whatever this thing was, she decided to just let it be, if it proved to be a problem latter, well she would handle it.
After a few more moments of trudging along Plague finally made it to the outer rim of the crowd, poking and peeking her head around random people to try and see what all the commotion was. She still could not make out the full scene, but from her location the young chemist could make out a large pool of crystal blue water, and two large creatures splashing around inside of it. She pushed her way into the crowd, getting a tad closer. A few locals where standing in the water, holding nets and fishing poles, trying to wrangle the trapped creatures, but to no avail. Everytime someone neared the wild life, they thrashed around, afraid and angry.
With a deep sigh, Plague turned to one of the random citizens next to her.
"Excuse me, where am I and which way to Starlight city?"
The random woman turned to face her, a bit startled at the girls appearance and outfit. She appeared bothered by Plague's question, or maybe just her presence.
"Do you not see there is a situation here, I don't have time to give you directions child. Now go on and play, let the adults work."
Plague sighed even heavier this time, crossing her arms and turning to see if that weird bird was still following her.

As they followed behind Plague, their attention was drawn ever more towards the crowd. The woman didn't seem to have much to her person, but crowds are always an opportunity to loose some coin from unguarded pockets. Granted the small fishing town was unlikely to be wealthy, they might still have some interesting trinkets and baubles that Fish could add to their collection.
By the time she does turn around, Plague can see Fish has abandoned hiding and trailing her directly and instead tilts their head towards the crowd. Their head and eyes flit around much like a birds to constantly scan for new visual information. Despite being much larger than any other bird, and more well armed, many of their mannerisms are pretty birdlike from the scanning to the occasional little hops along the sand.
"You're not dead." Fish finally turns to look at Plague, signing at her. The bird patiently waits to see if she understands sign language. If not, this impromptu partnership may not work out, but Fish is thinking they might be able to work something out. Rough treatment while barely alive doesn't endear someone to you so maybe this strange wet woman will be up for a crime or two.

This whole situation was extremly annoying, and beginning to drive the chemist crazy. The raven colored bird just looked at her, twitched around like a bird does then began to wave their hands around in the air like a crazy person. The people in the crowd were not going to be of any help, and this strange creature also did not seem like it was going to provide anything useful.
"So are you some kind of bird, human, thing? And do you happen to know anything about where we are?"
She was completely oblivious to the fact that this bird would not be able to properly communicate with her, or at least she would not be able to understand them. But before either of the two could continue on, their strange meeting was interrupted by a collective gasp coming from the crowd, followed by shrieks and cries. Plague whirled around, wanting to see what all the commotion was, and what these people were so preoccupied with. Leaving the bird to themselves without even saying good by, Plague pushed her way through the crowd, nearing the front to catch a glimpse of what was happening.
A wood elf, who was now knee deep in the pool of sea water, was attempting to wrangle two large fish like creatures, manta type things that Plague had never seen before. Her lack of experience with the ocean was beginning to become a problem for her. The elf, who looked like a fisherman of some kind, was getting attacked by two of these things, and was losing the battle. Blood could be seen flowing through the shallow pool now, several wounds delivered to the elven man were leaking blood and getting worse. This guy was going to die and Plague was all for it.
Screams and shouts continued to fill the air, pleas for help and assitance were also heard as the fishermans's loved ones and friends begged for someone else to get in and help.

Admittedly, Fish begins to realize it was a little foolish to believe things would be this easy. They look to pull out their chalk and slate before the conversation is broken by the screams. They follow Plague, entering into the wake of people as she splits the crowd. The benefit of following the more assertive in society was that you could get away with a lot more as the focus is on them. Fish does use this chance to nick a few things from pockets as they pass by.
They stand beside Plague as she reaches the edge of the crowd and tilt their head at the scene. Well, this was one way to draw a crowd. Probably not an ideal one, but a way. They look over at everyone just standing around with a bit of confusion. No one seemed to have any idea of what to do. Curious.
Fish digs in their pack a moment and after a second or two pass, Plague finds a note shoved into her hand.
"Save the man, bilk the family for money.....This is Crescent Isles, to answer the earlier question." As the note is slipped into the hand, Fish does not look up to expectantly await an answer. If it appeared as if they were collaborating it might draw too much suspicion, they should at least try and act as random do-gooders.
