The sapphire district, under the opal sky; sandstone walls that rise to unreachable plateaus, hiding the rich and the powerful in a stony embrace. It's quiet -- night usually is, in Zeinav. And it's cold enough to chill the bones. And it's dark enough to hide, even in plain sight.
She outs out another held breath, feeling its precious heat billow beneath her mask and soak into her face. It's been hours, now. For hours, she's held her cane at the ready, stood in the shadows and poised to leap at a moment's notice. And she isn't alone; though she can't see him, she knows that a companion is in the darkness...
She can't tell if it's unnerving or reassuring. But, either way, it'll be of help.
They stand, they wait and they watch from the alley. Across from them is the abode of one Ack'nis -- a surname, she forgets their first name. It doesn't matter; they're important. A politician. And, over the course of the past couple months, that has made him a target.
...
...
Waiting may not be the most difficult part, but it's usually the most stressful. They're just waiting for that moment that their adrenaline spikes and they're sent into a frenzy. Any minute now...
There. There's somebody on the street, cloaked and enshadowed -- and, though they don't know it, shadowed. They're carrying something... a bucket, it looks like. They set it down by the wall, and dip their hand inside.
...Blood. That metallic scent is indication enough, even from here.
"It's them." she whispers. "Let's go."

Usually, Javal wasn’t a man of stealth however today was a special occasion. He was hired for a special mission from Kabader Ack'nis, a wealthy and powerful politician in the Zeinav to stop a horrible character assassination against him. This mission was one of the hardest ones Javal had to do yet, it required his greatest weakness: stealth and silence. Javal was not particularly well versed in either of the two but he was trying his damn best. He hid among the shadows trying to not move a single inch he even tried not breathing before he quickly found out that he’d suffocate. The silence was piercing and torturing, Javal couldn’t take any more of it he was about to just let out a loud sigh of frustration that was until he heard a loud voice exclaim that it was time. Whoever it was Javal hoped they were here for the same reason Javal was and to stop crime in the name of justice. Javal jumped in front of the shadows and into the alley seeing in front of him a small hooded figure with the symbol of the sun on their robes with a paint can in their hands as well as a masked person on the other end of the alley.
“Hey you vandalist come here and answer to your crimes”, Javal yells.
“No way”, the sun-marked hooded figure replied as suddenly they jumped up the walls evading the two would-be captors.
“Came and catch me if you can you damn would be detainers”, they laughed as they ran across the rooftops ahead of them.

Wonderful. This could've been easy; sneak up from behind and deal with them without a fuss. Now the vandal, in hardly more than a second, has scaled the wall and let out a taunt that makes the only sound on this night. Hardly more than a second has passed, and Arlette already feels affronted.
Well, she isn't one to let a taunt to unpunished.
As the vandal takes off, she steps out of the shadow. "Well done, fell." she utters facetiously. "I was *worried* this would go smoothly. Come on, after them!"
Knowing that the vandal is growing further with every second has already sparked the adrenaline to rush through her. She can feel her heart beating up to her ears. Her legs move almost of their own volition as she circles around the building's side -- there, where she spied it earlier, she ascends a flight of sandstone stairs! In the dark and without a way of seeing, it's a miracle she didn't stumble -- or perhaps it was just the sheer instinct, as she hears the vandal's pounding footsteps on the rooftop above her.
She reaches the top, where curtains lead into the building, but that isn't where she's headed. She leaps upward and clings to the very edge of the rooftop! It's strange that pulling oneself up is such a feat at normal times, yet adrenaline gives her the strength to do so in these moments -- just as she sees the vandal make a terrific leap from this plateaued roof to another.
She considers shouting at him to stop, but that did so much for the Fellblood. They'll have to give chase.
Where's that Fell, anyway?!

As Javal heard the vandal’s childish taunts he booked it to the streets trying to keep up with the vandal. He touched his sandals icing them and his feet over*. His speed doubled allowing him to not only catch up to the Vandal but get ahead of him albeit still on the streets and almost hitting and knocking over about a dozen or so people on the way. He booked it as fast as he could and jumped on top of an oncoming crate and landed on top of a nearby window store. He struggled to climb up the store's front with his newly frozen feet but he managed to finally do it. Not before hearing about the passing by vandals.
“Oh wow your so smart huh impy boy you managed to get up here at last. But you're still never gonna catch me, you're too slow” the vandal yelled as he continued to run across the rooftops.
Javal was on the roof at least all he had to do now was catch up to the vandal. That was easier said than done although Javal was ahead of him earlier he was completely slowed down by trying to get up the store and into the roof. No matter what he'd catch the thief no matter what even if it cost him his life.
Javal sprinted as fast as he could behind the vandal although he was making good progress catching up the thief seemed like a mile away still at this point.
Javal yells as he continues sprinting, “Stop this at once hoodlum once I catch you you'll be in big trouble. The power of justice can not be escaped”.

She's barely keeping up. Though the adrenaline keeps her warm beneath the opal sky, such chases are not her strong suit! Those thieves of Sol City have some name for this. "Parker," she thinks they called it. But whatever its name, she has little experience. She can only desperately leap from roof to roof, hoping that the Fell will be able to catch up. And in that moment will be her time.
But then -- a boon! As she watches, the vandal's confidence is beginning to dwindle. His dexterity cannot outpace Javal's magical strides for long; and, just as he's looking over his shoulder, he fails a jump dramatically. Down and into an alley he trips, where a loud CRASH of wood is heard.
Is he done? It sounded grievous, but Arlette can't be sure. She needs to get down there swiftly. But how? They'd already made such distance...
But as she looks around, Arlette sees a shape in the darkness -- a long, thin tendril that bisects the sky like a scar. It's a string of some sort, hung from building to building. If memory serves, it's how they dry their clothes... And if instinct serves, then it's exactly the shortcut she needs.
She stands, and lurches forward -- once, twice, and then makes a leap off the roof! With her ebony cane, she hooks around the string; and so, instead of falling, she begins to slide down its length! With the wind buffeting against her and causing her coat to flap like a sailcloth, she gradually descends into the alley, before landing with a graceful (if not soft) step onto the sandstone.
It's dark, terribly so. A boon and a curse. But as she looks into the alley, seeing the street on the other side, she can just make out a silhouette, rising from a piles of debris. Part of her wishes the bastard had broken his neck; but, then, the bounty preferred he be alive.
But 'alive' and 'unharmed' are quite different things. As she steps toward him, and her strigiforme mask forms a terrible visage in the moonlight, she clutches her cane by the handle and pulls its trigger. With a metal screech and a blast of sparks, she draws its blade[1]!
"Well, aren't you an unfortunate one?" she mocks as she strides down the alley. And yet the vandal doesn't move... in fact, he remains ominously still. He's without weapon, without armour, without shield and seemingly without magic. And yet...
But he's defenceless. And that, to Arlette, is good enough. She lunges like a snake, feinting a swing into a piercing thrust that should go straight through him... but instead, it meets nothing at all as the vandal simply steps to the side. Arlette's shocked; a fighter? And what is this technique? They hadn't been warned of this!
But before she can react or adapt to this newfound danger, she feels the vandal's hand sliding up her sword-arm! She tries to pull away, but then feels a tremendous stinging just below her shoulder -- and before she knows what's happened at all, her blade has been taken from her grasp[2]!
"Agh!" she cries, stumbling back and gripping her arm where she still feels the sting. "What was-"
It seems the vandal has no more breadth for conversation, as she sees her own blade, glinting in the moonlight, cutting toward her! She can only raise the cane in defense...

Javals heart was almost flying out of his body, he was running as fast as he could. This Vandal was fast he’d give them that but he wasn’t fast enough to keep up with a magically boosted Javal. Soon enough Javal was right behind him, the bandit was only mere strides away: both of them knew that this chase would be over very soon. However it ended a lot sooner than Javal had thought. As soon as he saw the vandal fall into an alleyway, it seems the pressure of having the cerulean titan right behind them finally got to them. As Javal starts laughing at the boofonish failure of the vandal he quickly realizes that in his foolhardy celebration he himself was falling to the ground.
Javal braced himself for impact but soon found nothing but a squishy thing that broke his fall. He quickly finds out what it is by the screams that come from under him, “Get the fuck off of me you blue demon. I’ll kill you!”
“This is the iron crushing feeling of justice sitting on you vandal remember this crushing pain the next time you decide to do evil”.
“Yes, fine whatever but please get off of me your crushing me. Please I’m begging get off of me”
“Fine”, Javal says as he gets up from on top of the vandal but as the vandal weakly tries to escape Javal grabs them by the leg and yanks them back.
“Now now what did I just say?”Javal says in a disappointed tone.

...The strike doesn't come. Arlette waits, but all that greets her is the catastrophic sound like an orchestra of thuds in front of her. All considered, she's glad the attack hadn't made contact; even if she'd blocked it, her blade would easily cut through the sheathe. But what happened?
She lowers her guard for a moment, seeing little else to do. And what she sees, much to her surprise and relief, is a heap that consists of the vandal... and the Fellblood. Was this intentional, or...?
It doesn't matter. This is her opportunity. This bastard vandal taunted her, lead her on a chase across the rooftops, took away her weapon -- and did something that still stings in her arm! This Fellblood is speaking of justice? Well, Arlette will gladly deliver it.
Her usually elegant stride is now an indignant storm across the sandstone. She steps to where the vandal's face has been thoroughly planted on the ground. She stomps her foot harshly, right by his cheek. She raises the cane high into the air, and brings it down!
BASH!! A single harsh, violent motion, an arc at ends at the vandal's skull. A harsh, violent sound... and the vandal moves no more. She considers hitting him again -- she *thoroughly* considers it -- but ultimately decides not to risk fatal brain damage.
She gasps, she sighs and pants in the wake of the chase and catharsis. That was far more difficult than it needed to be. But it's done, and that's what matters.
She lets in a deep breath and exhales, before looking to the Fellblood. "I suppose we should bring this scum to the authorities."
...
She kicks the vandal once. Not lethal.

Javal looked across the alley and saw a fuming woman in an owl costume, “Woah lady your that person hidden in the shadows and chasing after this guy too right”, Javal asks curiously as she starts beating the grappled vandal.
“Why are you dressed like an Owl, is it simply to attract other owls? Are you some sort of druid shaman searching for your owl family”?
Javal looks down at the incapacitated vandal as the owl lady smashes her foot onto his back although that was harsh, Javal could respect her intensity. He himself wanted to slap him or punch him but to kick a man while he was literally down went against his personal code of honor.
“At least that harsh kick will be a reminder to the vandal never to vandal again, right”, Javal says pondering out loud
Javal’s face turns a little sour once he sees the owl lady start beating the dreams and nightmares out of the vandal. He started to even feel bad for him even just a little mercy wouldn't have hurt the owl lady he thought.
After the owl lady had thoroughly beaten the vandal into a bloody pulp, Javal put on a wide smile trying to shake off the horrific beatdown he had just witnessed.
“Yes, let’s turn this oaf in to the arms of justice and get our rewards”, Javal says, hoisting the battered body over his shoulder.
“So Ms. Owl Lady what is your name and what’s your fascination with owls? I think owls are cool myself as well”, Javal trailed off
