They run down the alleyway, and for a second, C'Leena is worried about being in a dead end. Her mind immediately goes to seeing if she could possibly climb her way onto a roof and continue going from there. That idea is thrown in the garbage as Shaa summons a wall.
She smiles and leans against the wall of a building, next to the summoned wall and remains quiet. However, her smile falls when Shaa gets ready to push the wall down onto whoever is on the other side. Now, if they were trying to get through/over the wall? Sure, maybe that could be justified as self-defense, but right now, they don't know that the duo are there.
C'Leena makes a 'Cancel that' gesture, hoping to get the idea across before he decides to murder a handful of kobolds for no damn reason.
They are not in danger at this time. They are not being threatened in any way, shape or form. Until that changes, her oath forbids her from making any actions against someone else, and she isn't about to break that oath now. On top of that, she is under obligation to treat any that survive. She'd rather not have to treat any, however.
She remains leaning against a wall, extremely hesitant and trying to convey the words 'Fuck No' without saying them. It's not going well, but she's hoping she's getting the point across.

Shaa is just about ready to push the wall over and even the odds a bit when the doctor starts waving at him in a panic. Wait. She is saying she doesn’t WANT to squish these guys? What kind of dumb tactic is that? For Shaa, these guys gave up any amnesty when they threatened to turn him into a steak. Maybe it was because she was a doctor and might have to fix them later? If they were dead, there wouldn’t be anything to fix so that can’t be it. Shaa had people trying to kill him or monsters trying to eat him or stab him or flay him almost weekly. Not to mention, dead people don’t seek revenge later…unless they are Necromancers and then being dead is actually an advantage. There was no reason not to turn these goons into paste. Ughh, he was going to regret this later.
Shaa holds up his hands in surrender and motions that he won’t squish them with a less than subtle eye roll. They still had no problem killing them so he had to do something. Shaa places his large hand about 2 feet on the wall. He then summons a second wall perpendicular to the first sending the kobolds flying. Putting his shoulder down, Shaa smashes a hole in the wall, motion for the doctor to follow as he takes off down another passage. Looking back he can see they are all still moving, albeit a bit slower, so yeah for staying alive. Where in Ginma’s beard was Gerhart or Ray when he needed them?
There had to be an end game to this. Apparently a non lethal one but he had been given worse hands. As the continued running they unexpectedly come upon a school teacher with a group of small children. Look everyone says the young teacher, her eyes twinkling with innocence. It’s our friend, Shaa Rhunn the Minotaur. Say hello children. (In unison) Hiiii Shaaaa Shaa is horrified. He really really didn’t need this complication right now. Hey kids…what are you doing outside a secure building today? The teacher beamed. Today we are learning about the different races of Charon! M is for Minotaur! Shaa looks around desperately hoping those kobolds found a round room and got lost looking for the corner. But it was too late as one of the brigands skirted a corner and ran right for them. Look kids! A Centaur! Shaa says pointing away from the Kobold. All the children and teacher turn to look.
As they do so, Shaa turns and one two punches the Kobold right in the face, knocking him unconscious. As not to distress the kids, he picks up the Kobold with one hand and manipulates his arm with the other like a giant puppet. No Shaa, that’s just a horse! Ohhhh sorry kids, my bad. But look! I have a friend, Mr Kobold! K is for Kobold everyone. Continuing to jiggle and manipulate the unconscious fighter, Shaa does his best to throw his voice. Hey kids! I’m Kyle the Kobold. Hi Kyle! Ok now you kids listen to your teacher and go have a snack on me. Hidey ho! Shaa drops the arm and rifles through the Kobolds pouch for snack money. Tossing the pouch over to the teacher, he continues. Ok kids, head over there, far away for snacks! Bye Kyle! Shaa waves the limp arm vigorously as the teacher takes them off into the distance, looking back somewhat quizzically. When they are out of sight, Shaa dumps the body unceremoniously to the ground. Ugh that was too close. Let’s head in there, maybe we can shake em. Shaa points to a building where it appears a birthday party is in full swing.

C'Leena is unsure what to make of the situation. They escaped, The Kobolds looked.. fine. They didn't request aid, and didn't look injured so she's technically not obligated to help? C'Leena feels like she's dropping to new lows when she's looking for loopholes in her oath.
Now, when they ran into the group of school children, she didn't know what to expect. She just kind of stood to the side of Shaa, looking back where they came from. When Shaa knocked out a kobold and used it like a puppet to distract the kids, she was both impressed and disturbed.
Then the bigass Minotaur had the bold idea to run though a tent where a birthday is being held. Fuck it, not my fault if some poor shmuck gets their birthday ruined. That's on Shaa. She motions for him to go, and they begin running once again.
They bust into the tent, and a group of about 10 children and roughly double that in parents all freeze and look up at the sudden intruders. C'Leena doesn't acknowledge any of them, nimbly vaulting over one of the tables and running out the other side of the tent. She's met with unfamiliar streets.
"Shit. Where now?"

As Shaa enters the tent, the entire party stops to stare at them. Instead of trying to blend in, the doctor decides to rush through the party and out the other side of the tent, leaving Shaa to bear the brunt of the stare down. Happy Birthday? After a moment, the entire tent bursts out laughing and restarts the party. Aside from the children and parents, he notices that the party is actually surrounding one of the oldest looking dwarves that Shaa had ever seen. A middle aged dwarf walks over to the guest of honor laughing Oh Paw Paw. Only you would invite a Minotaur to your birthday party. The ancient dwarf just smiled beneath his grey hair and wrinkled brow. Shaa wasn’t positive Paw Paw knew what was happening or even what day it was but he wasn’t about to correct them. A pair of very large and surly guards were watching the entire scene with a great deal of interest.
Well Paw Paw. Happy Birthday. I should probably get going though. Shaa tries to make an exit but a small girl comes and grabs him. It takes both of her tiny hands to wrap around just his index finger. No! You come dance Mr Bull. Birthdays dance! The little girls grip is surprisingly tight for someone so small. Sorry honey, not really a dancer. I don’t even have two left feet, just hooves. DANCE! I really have to.. BIRTHDAY DANCE! The little girls insistence as well as the increasingly gruff look from the guards forced Shaa’s hand. He quietly marched over to a circle of people who were surrounding the old dwarf. Little girl keeping him firmly in check, music starts to play and the circle of people start dancing and clapping around the dwarf who looks overly pleased with the whole scene. Every time Shaa tries to escape, the little girl grips tighter. DANCE!
As the music and merriment continue, two Kobolds slide into the tent through the back. They see Shaa dancing but also see the surly guards and get an idea. The two fighters slide up and have joined a second circle of people that had formed around the first one, going in the opposite direction. Everyone was too busy to notice that one of them had pulled a dagger and was getting closer and closer to striking distance.

Noticing Shaa hasn't left the tent, she pokes her head back in and sees the pickle he's found himself in. It would be vastly amusing if it werent for the 2 Kobolds slowly making their way through the crowd.
Moving quickly, she carefully weaves through various people, relying on the massive Minotaur to hold peoples attention; which for the most part is working. Seeing a Minotaur dance with a child that can barely wrap both hands around his finger is an interesting spectacle.
Soon enough, she arrives behind the pair of Kobolds, reaches over the shoulder of the one drawing the dagger and takes hold of the blade. The edge digs into the prosthetic, but her grip remains certain. Her free hand holds the shoulder of the second Kobold, her grip proving somewhat painful. Some minor finagling later and little Stabby is disarmed.
Holding both Kobolds and a dagger is a bit of a tedious task, however she manages to move them to the 2 frankly intimidating guards. "Gotchu these blokes. Sorry for barging in, but these two were tryna jab someone I reckon." She pushes the pair toward the guards and hands off the dagger and moves back to the exit. She takes in the now amusing sight of a Minotaur dancing and decides to rescue him.
"Shaa! Come on, man, we're gonna be late for the meeting! You know this is something that can't wait; it'll be the death of us both, I swear!" She yells into the crowd, waiting by the tent flap with an amused smile on her face.

Shaa gently shakes his hand forcing the little girl to release it. Sorry kid, you heard her, I have to go. You go eat a big piece of cake for me. The little girl scrunched her face tight and stuck out her tongue in defiance. After a quick stamp, she runs off to one of the desert tables. Shaa sighed a bit with relief and noted the two Kobolds still arguing with the guards. He could have sworn he heard one of them complain about being falsely arrested. Shaa decided to get going wile the getting was still good.
Following the doctor out of the tent, they found themselves back out in the alleyway. Shaa takes a deep sniff of the air and his eyes light up. Smell that perfume? I think I know where we are and we might get out of this yet. They run down an alleyway and find themselves in a line of vendor stalls with various jewelry, garments and perfumes. Shaa grabs a hooded robe and tosses it over to the doctor along with some coins for the merchant. Shaa reaches into his bag of the infinite and pulls out a large red robe and puts it on. With a shake, Shaa puts a finger to the side of his snout, winks, then suddenly shrinks until he is only 2 feet tall. Shaa takes a second smaller hooded robe and dons it over his head. His horns stick out awkwardly from the side. Ok put on the hood, take my hand and lead us out of here. Kobolds aren’t exactly the smartest bunch. If we are lucky, we can make it to the stables. Shaa holds out his now tiny hand to the doctor.

C'Leena followed behind Shaa as they ran, only partially startled when he threw her a cloak. Getting the idea, she dons the cloak, flicking the hood over her head.
It was then that something truly unexpected happened. The damn Minotaur shrank. It took her a few seconds to process what Shaa was saying to her before she took his hand in a gentle grip and began walking. She led them through the marketplace, avoiding any groups of kobolds.
The kobolds that do get close don't even pay the pair any attention. C'Leena does need to turn her head away from them as her eyes are still very much visible through the shadow of the hood. Luckily, either they have the attention span of a dissolved sugar cube or are just not very bright like Shaa said.
It takes the duo about 10 minutes of weaving through crowds and dodging Kobolds before the stables were in sight, and C'Leena sped her pace up. It's been rather stressful evading all the Kobolds, but also incredibly fun. Yeah no, C'Leena is an adrenaline junkie for certain. She's not even mad about it.
They make it to the stables and C'Leena looks around, not seeing a single Kobold. She sighs a breath of relief and takes her hood off. She has a grin on her face and she starts chuckling. "Fucken christ that shouldn't of worked. How the fuck did you shrink, big fella? Well, not big fella anymore but you get my drift."

Shaa pulls off his hood and tosses it to the side. He shakes again and pulls off is red coat. As he does so, his body grows and returns to its normal size. Shaa jams the coat back into his bag with a big sigh. Oh that? I picked that up after a certain adventure I had earlier this year. Gotta admit, being so small when I am used to being one of the biggest in the room is a little creepy. But, as you can see, it can come in handy too.
They were at the stables now and, if everything went according to plan, hopefully the Kobolds would get bored or something and give up. Shaa could hope at least. Unless cranky pants friend magically grew a hand in the last hour, they might not be so easily dissuaded. Well it looks like we have ditched them for the moment. I can’t guarantee they won’t come after you again though. Can you please explain to me why we can’t just end these dorks? I promise you, any one of those guys would stab you in the face and not think twice about it. Shaa was genuinely curious in getting her perspective on things. They had been very lucky so far but luck would only get them so far. If it came down to it, if it was between him walking away or them, it was definitely going to be him. Shaa reached into his bag and pulled out a piece of candy just in case.

"It's a finnicky thing," she responds in relation to why she didn't want to engage the Kobolds. "See, I'm under oath to do no harm. That doesn't apply if it's self defense, however. When we first encountered the pricks? That would have been perfectly fine, but when you brought that wall up, we weren't in danger anymore. They would have had to go through or over a wall to get to us." She shrugs and leans against a post, crossing her arms.
"I'm a doctor through and through, man. Only reason I even know how to hold a rapier is because I wanted to learn how to operate without feeling in my arms and legs, seeing as they're very much fake."
"Plus, just because someone else is shitty, doesn't mean you stoop to their level. In medical terms, 'Prevention is better than Cure'. Kind of works in this case. Nephele and I will be leaving either tonight or tomorrow morning, whenever she's ready to get outta dodge, so no need to worry about yours truly, dal."
C'Leena looks surprisingly relaxed for someone who just evaded getting made into a pin cushion. She had a hint of a smile on her face, as if it were simply the natural resting position of her face muscles.
"Again, you really have quite the notoriety, don'tcha?"

Shaa thought deeply and carefully about what the doctor said. Do no harm was the phrase that stuck with him the most. For some reason, it made him think of a delicate butterfly being pushed through every draft that it encountered. It was a wonderful picture but Shaa knew for certain what happened to delicate butterflies. Perhaps if the doctor was a bit more harmy, she would still have more of her original parts. But Shaa knew he was no person to judge. Everyone, even Shaa, had to pay the price for their decisions. Because of his own choices, it was highly likely that his eventual end would be ugly and bloody. But he was ok with it because, like the doctor, it was his choice.
That’s an interesting point of view. I actually agree with you on one point. Prevention is better than cure. I prevent people from stabbing me by punching them first. It’s much better than healing a stab wound. Shaa rubbed his arm and felt the bumpy scars of countless battles and fights over the years. Would the world ever let a monster be a poet or a baker? He thought not but it was still nice to think about. But, out of respect for your feelings , we’ll keep the body count at 0 until your safe. He cracks his knuckles and scratches his nose in thought. Just have to be a little more creative is all. And if some of those scaled jerks get a little broken on the way, so be it.
Off to the side some loud whineys can be heard. Looking over at the next paddock, Shaa gets an idea.

"No, thats not-" She quickly realizes that she'd have an easier time telling a rock to become malleable before telling Shaa the ways of not choosing violence. She sighs and resigns herself to her fate. "Mhm. Yep."
"Also what do you mean by that, Shaa?" she asks, only now picking up on the 'Be more creative' comment. "Shaa, I swear to Jesus Christ, if by 'Be more creative' involves you trying to tell me that you're Technically not killing people.." She doesn't finish her sentence, but leaves it open ended. Frankly, she's not entirely sure what she'd do, but she'd definitely not be happy about it. Although C'Leena doubts a good finger wagging would do much to dissuade Shaa.
"I've known you for thirty minutes, and I already dread that look." The look on Shaa's face is a common one. An idea that is stupid and possibly illegal, but has no chance on being dissuaded. She looks in the direction Shaa is looking and spots the horses.
She steels herself for the events to come, because it's probably about to get even more chaotic. If Nephele doesn't hear about all this shit, then either Nephele doesn't pay attention, or C'Leena is the luckiest motherfucker around.
"Alright, what is it that you have brewing in your head, you bigass Ox."

Shaa bristled a bit when the doctor referred to him as an “Ox”. One of the reasons that Minotaurs had such a tough time in the cities and towns was that because most races in Charon made regular attempts to dehumanize them. Bull man, beast man were regular slurs tossed at him by enemies and ignoramuses. Even in the official Charon race lists, Minotaurs are still listed under the “Monster” category. On the other hand, Shaa was infamous for handing out nicknames like party favors so he felt hypocritical correcting anyone but still, it wasn’t his favorite. He would just let it go, like he always does.
Ya ya, not dead or “mostly dead”. Here’s the deal. Thunderhoof village is interesting when it comes to security. Because of all the nomad tribes running around, fights and nonsense break out all the time. The guards ignore it because if they didn’t EVERYONE would be in jail. That means, those Kobold, unless they do something pretty bad, are going to be free to run around until they find us. There is ONE rule here that no one breaks: Don’t mess with somebody’s horse. They break that rule and they will end up doing community service or something. Last community service Shaa heard of was 1000 hours scraping Gnoll poop off Nomad’s Stone but he wasn’t going to mention that. All we got to do is get them to steal some horses for us…or at least make it look like it….
Shaa walks over to the horse paddock and does some measurements in his head. After checking a couple times, Shaa is almost ready. Just go find the cops and bring them here.

C'Leena didn't miss the negative reaction to the Ox comment. Note to self, that might have been racist. Don't do that again. She chided herself internally. Listening at Shaa's explanation on the security of Thunderhoof Village mildly concerned her - mainly for Nepheles sake - but that will be a bridge to cross if she comes up to it.
Having been tasked with simply bringing a few guards to the stables, she walks off in search of a guard patrol. While she walks, she thinks on what she'll say. Do I simply say 'Oh yeah, reckon theres been some fuck-shit going on at the stables. Can yous check it out?' Hm. Maybe.. 'Saw a band of Kobolds buggering with the horses. They saw me and scarpered'? That might work..
With a plan (of questionable reliability) in mind, she speeds up her search. Weaving through the meandering crowds of the midday bustle, her task was a bit harder right up until a pair of armored individuals were ahead of her. She smiled and began approaching them.
"Excuse me! Sirs, I saw a bunch of Kobolds trying to nick a couple of the horses up at the stables. They ran when they saw me catch them, but they might still be nearby." She says, gesturing back toward the stables. The pair of guards look at C'Leena, at one another then back at C'Leena. The taller one with a (frankly impressive) goatee gestures for C'Leena to follow along as they begin heading for the stables.
A few minutes later, the guards arrive at the stables with C'Leena in tow. During the walk, they tried to get some information out of C'Leena, but she kept retorting with "I wasn't close enough to get details. I saw them trying to get the horses, they ran and I came to find you." C'Leena hopes that this goes down smoothly, although knowing Shaa, it probably won't.

As Dr. C left to go find some guards, Shaa finished his measurements and was ready to enact his scheme. He still felt he was letting these guys off way too easy but it was good practice for him so he was willing to roll with it. Shaa walks to the side of the corral and vanishes underground. Like a giant mole, Shaa digs and digs until a large underground pit forms beneath the dirt. Reenforcing the walls and ceiling with stone and small ducts for air flow, he creates a opening in the corral and uses small spirts of flame breath to herd the horses down below. When the last of them entered the pit, Shaa sealed the entrance and prepared for part 2.
He runs quickly down an alleyway and finds a couple sets of spare clothes in an old and smelly refuse heap. Himmmm these should works just fine. Knowing that he is probably running out of time, he runs back to the corral and summons two roughly Kobold sized stone constructs on the far side. Dressing them up in the clothes, from a distance, they looked passable as bulky Kobold warriors. Probably wouldn’t want to date them or anything but they would work for their purposes. Shaa rushes back to the village side of the corral and waits for the good doctor and the guards to show up. It doesn’t take them long as he can hear the clink of weapons and swish of leather armor in the distance.
The guard with an impressive goatee is the first one to notice the problem. Where in Ginma’s beard are all of the horses??! Shaa puts on his best innocent face and starts crying. Ohhh the poor horses! Those mean kobolds stole them! Shaa forces the stone constructs to start shifting around the ground and then quickly behind a wall, crumbling as they get out of sight. The guards rush after them only to find piles of clothes an no sign of the kobolds. The gaurds grab the clothes and come back to the corral. Just what is the meaning of this? The guard asks accusatorily. What? You saw them? How am I supposed to know what a bunch of horse thieving nudist kobolds are thinking? They be crazy. Even heard a couple of them crashed a birthday party earlier… Shaa starts to whistle nonchalantly as the guards examine him and the clothes. And why are you so dirty? The guard presses. The roads a dirty place, what can I say? Don’t you have some naked kobolds to go chasing? People are going to be mad if their horses are gone and they obviously aren’t here. Aren’t you guys in charge of stuff like that? And what if you stole the horses and not the mystery kobolds? I’m a Minotaur. When have you ever seen a Minotaur ride a horse, like ever? And there is no place to even hide them. Sounds like you are making excuses for bad guarding to me. What’s the captain going to say when he finds out you lost like ALL the horses? Something stinks about this whole thing! Shaa holds his hands up and shrugs. Of course it does, we are next to a corral. A horseless corral granted but a poop ridden pen none the less. Better get going.
The guards look in frustration but finding nothing. The lead guard finally blows a small tin whistle to call more guards to the scene. Soon a pack of armed guards are there bustling and mumbling to themselves. They immediately knew the seriousness of the situation at hand. The lead guard calls them to attention. Ok guys, we have some horse thieves… the guard gives a quick but overly suspicious stare at Shaa and C’Leena who are casually hanging around. APPARENTLY there are some Kobolds in town that may be involved. I want you to around and round them all up for questioning. The guard hesitates a bit. Be advised that some of them….may be naked. He looks back at Shaa who is still trying and failing hard at whistling. The guards soon disperse across the village to search for the missing horses and scaled hooligans. Good luck guys! Shaa calls as they head off.
Shaa tried so hard to contain his laughter that he nearly pees himself. See? No problem. Those guys will get arrested, everyone is safe, 0000 body count. Now we just to put the …. Very clever of you Minotaur, very clever indeed. From out of the shadows steps the scarred Kobold leader. I don’t know what you did with the horses but it will hardly matter when you are dead we leave this infested fly heap of a village. The Kobold pulls out a strange black dagger and begins to approach.

During the interaction between Shaa and the guards, C'Leena remains quiet. It's borderline painful to hear him whistle away the concerns and stares, but the pair somehow are in the clear after the guards depart. To say C'Leena wasn't holding back laughter would be the lie of the century.
"Beautifully done, big fella." She compliments with a smile. This entire adventure with Shaa has been both an absolute rollercoaster and a hell of a lot of fun. She's planning on saying as much when the scarred Kobold turns the corner.
Blade, check. Actively threatening us, check. Dumbass? Doubly check. C'Leena marks off her mental checklist before pushing off the wall and retaliating. The first thing that happens is that C'Leena extends her arm at the Kobold, and purple sigaldry begins to glow from underneath the illusory skin of her arm. The sigils fly off and form 3 rings around her arm, all of differing sizes. The smallest ring hovers around her wrist, the medium sized ring around the middle of her forearm, and the largest around her elbow. All the rings softly turn and pulse.
C'Leena simply says "Go" as a perfect duplicate of C'Leena breaks into a sprint from C'Leenas form directly at the kobold1. The replicant shoulder-checks the kobold, vanishing with the interaction but also causes the kobold to stagger backward from the impact. They look completely unharmed, but startled.
The rings fade and return to her arm, and C'Leena breaks into a run herself. Drawing her rapier, her movements shift into a certain flow that feel deliberate and calculated. Every step that is taken has purpose, every weight shift has meaning and intent. It wouldn't be inaccurate to describe her as flowing water or a dance of sorts2.
She sinks into her practiced form - One that would be unrecognizable to Shaa. She conjures a strange cloak. The spell itself is familiar to anybody who even dabbles in the Dark Domain, but it doesn't look how it should3. Instead of a cloak made of shadow, it appears to almost be a rip in the world itself, showing thousands of stars and a magnificent purple-blue nebula.
For the time being, she focuses on defense, trying to get an idea on how the kobold fights. It's a rather menacing dagger, and she's not keen on getting cut up right now, if only for Nepheles peace of mind.
