"That's not to say organs are simple. Take the heart for example: It's constantly beating for the entirety of your life. If that gets buggered up like mine has, you're almost certainly fucked. To make a prosthetic heart, you need something able to beat and pump blood effectively enough to function as a heart, and have it both flexible and durable enough to withstand the years of doing so.
"But yes, I believe limbs are far more difficult to work with. Since it's all inorganic, I don't need to pump blood through them since there's no muscles that need it. But yes, a bit of everything working together, like you said." C'Leena explains. As far as her memory allows, this is the first time she's been able to talk about her old job and passion since coming to Charon at length. It's very clear that C'Leena loves this subject and is positively thrilled about being able to talk about it.
C'Leena felt a little bad interrupting Kamille, but it was for a good reason as it was to listen in on people possibly giving us trouble. Hearing the older man admit that he's wary of C'Leena is a curious feeling that breaks a grin over her face as she turns to face the group. With Kamille turning around as well soon after, neither C'Leena nor Kamille were particularly concerned. C'Leena had a feeling that, if Kamille had bodyguards, that they would do their job. Even if they didn't, there was something innately powerful to the witch that make C'Leena awfully curious as to what she could learn from her.
As the Draco Malfoy copycat walks up, C'Leena is completely unable to wipe the amused smile on her face, no matter how hard she tries. She is content to let the snobby bloke talk for a moment before Kamille interrupts him. And then proceeds to anger the kid with a pretty damn good insult. C'Leena, along with the unnamed patron both snicker, C'Leena covering her mouth with her metallic hand. "Yeouch, bud. Want to go take a second and recuperate after that one?"
That appeared to tick him off a bit more as Mister Malfoy glares at her with what he assumes to be righteous fury. It really isn't and is kind of sad to see. C'Leena looks around for a moment as he claims the pair aren't welcome, then returns her gaze to the snobbish boy. "Well damn. What, you afraid of a little magic, lil man?" A mischievous little smile makes it's way onto her features as she casts a very uninteresting spell, Replicant.
"Boo." Says a C'Leena duplicate just from over his shoulder. As quickly as it appeared, it shimmered away into nothingness, the expended mana returning to whence it came.
As the kid tries to threaten Kamille, she easily retorts with her own. Tension rose as C'Leena watched the kid shift in his spot and see his knuckles whiten around his weapons hilt. C'Leena was expecting it to turn violent, and it did.. Technically. The poor shmuck seemed to really want a Floorboard Lunch as he bashed his head into the ground, and an absolute tank of a man appeared to drag him out of the building.
About three of the Dial Fractum members stand when they see one of their companions get utterly embarrassed, and C'Leena herself stands up and a pair of brilliant white wings shoot out from her back and spread out, six feet each side, making herself a large form. Along the wing are fissures as if the wings were burning internally. The amusement drops from her features as she stands and glares at people who stood, and tension quickly builds, even faster now that more magic is being put on display.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I will say this once. I am under oath to do no harm, but that does not apply if myself or anybody around me is in immediate danger, no matter who they are. Sit back down or leave, but the moment I see a blade or anything that can do harm, I can guarantee that none of you will be walking out of this building, either due to loss of legs or the loss of life."
"Do I make myself clear?" The sudden change from C'Leena a mere minute and a half ago to now is jarring even to her. She has never been someone with an even temper, and since she hasn't had her medication in a little over six months, her ADHD isn't helping with her mood swings. As C'Leena's temper begins to spiral more and more out of control, the fissures along her wings grow brighter, and small embers begin to fall from the wings, dissipating before they touch the ground.
"Yes or No, Gentlemen."

Whatever it was that Kamille was expecting, C'Leena certainly impressed her even further. As much as she had seen people simply sprout out wings before - her own grandaughter included - it was always a sight to behold and a great experience. It was clear the woman's display left the men visibly torn: while she did make for a more impressive opponent, it was also testament to their belief that all kinds of magic should be purged.
They were between a rock and a hard place.
The older man rose slowly, after all the other younger and impulsive ones had already made their choice. Whether or not that was a fight he wanted to pick, it was public now and they had to hold onto their beliefs. He couldn’t allow it to spread that their bunch ran from an altercation. If luck was on their side, he could turn this on his favor. Maybe.
The illusionary display of magic only served to make his men more nervous and angry. That was probably their goal, to be honest. Kamille raised an eyebrow, with the most shit eating and annoying grin she could muster. It looked like luck was still on her side when chosing drinking buddies ..
"Yes or No, Gentleman."
The older man looked over everyone, one at a time.
"Why don't we go outside to settle this, ladi-"
"No."
It was a slow day, and all eyes were on them. C'Leena could see a vein starting to pop on the older man's forehead and his face get red - certainly he wasn’t taking lightly the woman's words, and if he had been hesitant on buying a fight with them, as contraproducent as it was, C'Leena's warnings served only to stirr the rage inside.
The only one who seemed to be truly relaxed and enjoying the drama was probably the Witch, still calmly sipping on her wine. But even she flinched when one of the younger men seemed to reach his limit and yell to the women:
"....TO THE HELL WITH YALL!"
As suddenly as it started, weapons were drawn.
With a loud schwiiing! one of the men closer to Kamille was quickly relieved of his sword, as the image of another Quill shimmered and came into view. This one was a woman, much smaller than the other two C'Leena had already seen, but clearly just as deadly. Her katana clashed against his weapon with such violence that the man's sword went flying to the other side of the tavern, bouncing two, three times on the wooden floor.
Kamille turned her back to the fight, pouring herself more wine.

The amount of times that C'Leena has been in similar situations in mere months compared to the twenty five years on earth is impressive. She'd never been in a situation like this back on earth, but it feels like a fortnightly occurrence here. Her attempts at a somewhat peaceful resolution seem to have failed, and just out the corner of her eye, she can see the most shit-eating grin on Kamille. C'Leena adopts a similar grin, her newfound adrenaline junkie part of her mind absolutely relishing the tension.
And one poor kid snaps and attempts to attack. C'Leena doesn't move as yet another bodyguard comes from thin air and disarms the assailant. With a flick, C'Leena's rapier is pointed to the underside of his jaw, pushing upward just enough to draw blood.
"I'd really rather we not kill one another in this fine establishment. Let go of your grudges this one time and live to see tomorrow. This isn't a fight you can win, gents." C'Leena says in a genuine voice. She looks to the older gentlemen about to burst a blood vessel.
"You were absolutely right, sir. I have walked through hell and came out stronger. I also came out far less patient. Despite your beliefs, you seem like a nice guy. Perhaps if circumstances were different, we could get along, but alas that is not the case today. You seem to have some pull - Tell them to leave."
Harming people is the last thing she wants to do. As a doctor, it goes against everything she was taught to do. She nearly threw it away in the Australian Armed Forces, and she's pretty much thrown it away upon coming here. She's promised herself, and most of all Nephele that this wouldn't happen as often as it did. Is it a fools errand? Perhaps, but if it's what she needs to do in order to keep hold of the last wisps of her humanity, the rest being lost once she became more machine than person, then she'll show mercy when none would be shown back.
Her wings fold behind her, the fissures slowly dying away as C'Leena calms down. "Magic has saved my ass on many occasions, and it will continue to do so. It is a tool to be used both to save lives as well as take them. I am a doctor, which means I'm far more inclined to do the former, but I am not incapable of doing the latter. Whether you leave here today or not will not change a single thing in the long run. Even if you kill myself, Kamille and the unknown amount of guards in this room who's entire job is to protect her, what will that achieve?
"A few less magic users in a world where they're being bred as fast as rabbits? It's a goddamn fools errand, and I can guarantee you that if I were to die here, each one of you will be hunted down like a fucking pest until the last. There will be no rest, there will be no calm for you. Now leave and see your loved ones again before they have to bury you."

C'Leena seemed to do such a good job at intimidating the men - perhaps too much of a good job - that they all stopped on their tracks. It was clearly a good flex on patience and restraint on the part of the older man.
He approached, but instead of turning to the women, he grabbed both of his men closer to him by the scruff, as if they were unruly teenagers about to receive the scolding of their lives.
"There are civilians here. I won't allow your arrogance and idiocy to threaten their lives."
The men seemed ready to interject, but one look to the older gentleman's face told them all they needed, and they chose to shut up. One of them slowly put away his sword, while the other took a few steps back and went to recover his own, that went flying back with the Black Quill attack. Their mood was grim, and it was clear they retreated not because they wanted, but at some level it seemed to have dawned on them the level of danger they were in. The disarmed guy spat between the Black Quill's feet - the woman didn’t even move a muscle.
"Stay out of this," the older man continued, glaring at C'Leena. "Leave Moonglade. You're not welcome. You have no right to stick your nose into our business. I don’t care for who you are, as long as you're out of here. We run things diffently than where you came from, and you'll learn to keep your distance sooner or later."
With muscles tensed and a furrowed brow, the younger lads seemed dissappointed for not having any release in the form of violence. The bigger one pushed them out, towards the door, slowly giving their back to the ladies at the bar. He had only taken a step towards the exit before he stopped, turning only sideways to glare at them.
"You better pray we don’t find any of your Sparrows on our city, Witch. I swear we'll cut off their wings and send them to you. And it'll be your fault. Be warned."
For a second, there was an almost imperceptible flinch in the woman's expression, one only C'Leena would perceive, since Kamille had her head to the rest of the group.
"We know where you live."
That didn’t look nearly as intimidating to her, as she chuckled softly.
"What? You think we're joking around? No warnings for the Dial Fractum?"
"You'll rarely see me issue a threat, my good sir. There's no use for it. I just.... Do what I want."

It's an interesting feeling, knowing that you're actively striking some level of fear or wariness into others. It's a feeling she's decided that she hates, however. It's not pleasant being feared or hated, but sometimes such opinions are impossible to avoid, or in this case, required.
As the older gentlemen tears the other two away and toward the door, C'Leena brings the tip of her rapier to her face, and after quickly opening up a rip in reality1, she takes out a small cloth and cleans the small amount of blood off the point before sheathing the weapon and returning the cloth to whence it came.
C'Leena met the older mans gaze dead on, not wavering as he threatens her. "I will remain and return as I please, for you do not own the city, nor do you hold the authority to bar me. I will not interfere with you as long as you return that favor."
Spite is a powerful tool that C'Leena has learnt to utilize, and boy is she feeling spiteful. Despite her every fiber wanting to punch the bastard in the nose, she holds herself back as her wings dematerialize. She is thankful for once that Nephele isn't here, as this might have taken a very different turn. The nymph often lets her emotions get the better of her - especially when it's C'Leena being targeted. Thankfully, nobody was killed today.
The brief interaction between him and Kamille was short lived. The man scoffed as Kamille answered and left the building, going to who knows where. With a heavy sigh, C'Leena sits back down at the bar and rests her head in her palm, trying to ease an oncoming headache.
"Fuck me dead, mate. That happen often? Bunch of pretentious pricks, ain't they?" She said, her accent suddenly far stronger as she lets out her frustration verbally. She's thankful the situation is over and done with, especially without bloodshed. She's strangely proud of that.
"You seem awfully calm. While I doubt you were in any real danger, I still want to ask if you're okay. You had a particular reaction to them mentioning your sparrows."

While she wouldn't want her new friend to be branded an enemy of the Dial Fractum, Kamille was happy to see C'Leena promptly rising to the occasion to show she was ready to throw some trouble their way. And Kamille was right to assume the other woman could raise a lot of trouble... The men didn't engage them any further, other than throwing a venomous glance over their shoulders as they walked out of the tavern. As a last middle finger to them, her associate that had previously dragged one of them out was already at the door, and held it open to allow them to go. Not one of them spared a threatening glance his way, but the man didn't move an inch. Once they were all out the door, he remained inside pulling up a chair to sit by a table by the door, seemingly alone, his presence clearly serving as a warning. When it was all over, Kamille shot a glance over her shoulder before turning to C'Leena once again. She let out a deep, tired sigh. While the other people on the tavern didn't look particularly thrilled that there was no brawl going on right now, they weren't the ones to start it now. " I'm sorry about that. They're not as brash as this usually... But encounters like this are becoming more and more common right now, yes. I hope this is not a trend, but... I highly doubt it." Taking the last of her wine, she was surprised to see the barman sliding over to them and refilling her glass without her asking. He would do the same to C'Leena's glass if she allowed him to. "On the house." With a nod of appreciation, Kamille toasted lightly against C'Leena's glass. She then motioned to the tall half-elf that sat in a table alone by the door. "You've seen all of my crows by now. That is Edgar. My crows are often with me, at least one of them, at all times. They protect me and are an extension of me. Unlike my Sparrows, that are... Everywhere. But most of them don't have the claws like the crows... So it's easier for them to threaten to hurt them."
Of course she left out the tiny detail of what the Sparrows actually did. Although most people who knew of Kamille's reputation knew that that's how she referred to her numerous spies and informants around Charon.

Watching the members of the Dial Fractum storm out was satisfying in it's own right, and as the final members filed out, C'Leena simply rested her head in her hand, leaning on the bar counter. A tickling at the back of her mind says she will be seeing them again sooner rather than later.
C'Leena waves off Kamille's apology, fixing her posture and rolling her shoulders. "Eh, it's whatever. Bunch of yapping dogs in my eyes - all bark n' no bite. You know who they even are, anyway? Just a bunch of anti-magic mercs or something?" She asks in response. She'd hardly call them her enemy, but it's better to know the different organizations around.
She nods to the barkeeps offer, giving a quick "Ta," as thanks. With a clink of a toast, she takes a drink and rubs her eyes before Kamille starts explaining her 'Crows' and 'Sparrows'. She seems to have quite the theme when it comes to who (or what) she associates with. As Kamille finishes her explanation, C'Leena nods silently, her mind running through reasons on why she'd need such a group of people.
It's no secret that C'Leena can be extremely scattered at times, but thankfully, this isn't one of those times. The rare occurrence of her mind being slightly less foggy allowing her to be more analytical than usual. "You're more than just some witch, aren't you?" She says after an extended silence, her aquamarine eyes seemingly looking into Kamille's very soul, eeking out any information she can gather about the woman.
"Obviously you're still The Witch of Moonglade, but there's more to you. Crows are here to protect you clearly, but these 'Sparrows' of yours - by your own words - aren't protection. If they're everywhere, chances are they're.. Eyes and ears for you. Do you happen to sell information in your spare time?"
She may be completely wrong, and that would be endlessly amusing, but if she's right, that would be pretty damn neat and she'll feel very proud of herself. Granted, it might not even be that big an accomplishment, but still. It's the little wins.

All bark and no bite. She wanted to believe that, but tensions had only been rising, as much as she tried to bridge the gap.
When C'Leena remarked she was more than just a Witch, Kamille was taken by surprise. Her reasoning was sound, and when the other woman finished explaining her suspicions, Kamille realized she was smiling. More and more, the Witch's admiration by the stranger was growing.
"You're quite sharp yourself, C'Leena. You're sure you're not looking for a job?"
Given C'Leena's line of thought, she would know what kind of job the Witch could offer...
She chuckled softly, finally having her mood lifted from the recent altercation with the men of the Dial Fractum.
"....but of course most people know that about me already. Since you just arrived, I'll give you some credit for coming to that conclusion on your own so quickly."
Kamille looked delighted even, as she took another sip of her wine.
"I'm not sure I mentioned this already, but I grew up at the Court of the Sun King. Not the hardest of lives, I'm sure you'd agree - some luxuries, of course. Me and my father have always worked behind the curtains, however. It's a place you only keep if you’re useful, so I'd say some habits never die."
Despite her line of work, despite not working directly on the spotlight, the Witch herself did have a flair of the ~dramatiqué~ that said that, perhaps, she had been branching out. After all, as far as C'Leena could notice, people readily and quickly were able to single out and identify her in the middle of the street.
Some habits never die.
The Court was a treacherous place to grow up, and if not for her father's teachings, her trusting and kind nature was bound to be taken advantage of. She saw it happening around her all the time. Her father did his best to instill a sense of distrust and skepticism in her.
Well... he tried.
"I'm serious about the job, by the way."
