The small one was being nervous again. It's been a whole day since we've seen any threats but he still insisted on resting for no more than half an hour at a time outside of sleep. At first it'd been fun, running as far and as fast as my legs could take me without fear of running into a pen or other equestrians. Now the novelty of that had worn off, and I wanted to explore things more closely. The little stickman that accompanied me tugged at the hair on my hind legs impatiently, wanting to reclaim his place on my head. I defiantly stuck my head into a random hole at the base of a tree. Unfortunately the hole was occupied, and I got a face full of quills. I flinched back. What was that? I'd been a blur of black and grey in the dim lighting of the burrow, and I was curious. Then again, as curious as I was, I was also in a lot of pain. I squeezed my eyes shut and backpedaled fast as I could. I could feel how close I'd been to going blind, the quills burrowing into my cheeks, nose and forehead everytime I moved. I stood still, trying to minimize the pain as I tried to figure out how to best get them out of my face. I felt a familiar tug on my leg. The jiggly headed stickman. I sat down gingerly, whining to him for help. He gave it a light tug and I gave a sharp whimper in pain. The quill was still in there. This would take a while.

C'Leena found herself wandering the forest. Everything about this was new to her and she was fascinated by it all. She'd never really seen much of nature back home, so it was a nice change of pace from asphalt streets and homes all the time.
C'Leena is a 6' woman with bronze skin, short, curly black hair and aquamarine crystalline eyes. She was wearing a simple tank top with a pair of Jeans and workboots with a large pea coat over the lot with the front open. She's discovered that her clothes are incredibly strange around here but she's fine with that. It's a good conversation starter.
Walking along, listening to the sounds of the forest, something stands out. A whimper of sorts. C'Leena stops for a moment, intent on listening for further noises.
There. She hears it again and starts heading in that direction. It doesn't take long to find the source of the noises. What stands before her is an incredibly strange mix of a horse and a deer with a face full of quills. She winces, seeing how close some of the quills came to it's eyes. In her concern, she didn't notice the tiny being trying to pull the quills out, but has only been able to pull about three out so far.
"Oh, buddy." she mumbles to herself and carefully approaches.
"You look like you've had a bit of a rough one, huh?" She says louder this time. "Would you like some help?"
Not exactly expecting a reply, she continues to approach and carefully kneels down. You can rather clearly hear some sort of mechanical whirring as she moves, and just vaguely hear what can only be described as a machine trying to mimic a heart. Nothing about her really screams 'Construct' outside of her eyes. You can even see some sort of burn scarring surrounding her eyes, almost proving that this person is (at least mostly) flesh and blood.
C'Leena, still not expecting any reply from an animal, took it's jaw in a gentle hand. Her hand feels strangely cold, as if it were metal making contact and not skin, despite her hand looking normal.
"Sorry, bud. This might hurt a bit." She says in as soothing a tone as she can muster as she begins pulling quills with ease, setting them aside.

There was something coming, and it had two legs. I froze, ears twitching as I heard the footsteps approaching. I slowly opened my eyes to get a look at them. They didn't seem armed, and they didn't look like our pursuers. I gave out a whine. Maybe they could help me with these quills, because the stickman had made almost no progress. My traveling partner gave an urgent tug on a quill. I yelped. Ow, I know you're really nervous, but c'mon, if we need to, we can run after they've patched me up I snorted, or tried to communicate through snorting. I don't know if he got the message, but he hid in my tails as the purring biped approached. She held herself gently, and used that coaxing voice my old caretakers used when they were trying to convince me to do something. I stayed still, unsure of what she wanted. She placed a cold purring metal that showed like a hand under my head, then took my head and pulled out a quill. I gave a sharp whine, but I could feel that the quill was gone. I relaxed a little, though still bracing myself for the pain that came with every tug. I felt little twiggy arms climb up my back. Still wary, but he watched the biped work from where he stood between my shoulder blades. I sniffed my benefactor as they plucked the little barbed needles around my nose. They smelled like metal, oil, dust, sweat, something crisp I couldn't identify and food. Biped food, which always smelled better than it had any right to. Once my nose was clear, I licked it, then licked her.

C'Leena finishes up plucking out the quills and smiles a kind smile.
"There we go, dal. All better no-AH," C'Leena is interrupted by the weird antlered fox thing. C'Leena isn't sure what this is, and even less so the tiny person thing on it's back. She shakes her head, dismissing the strangeness of the situation.
"Now how did you manage this one, hon?" she asks, looking around for a hedgehog or something that would even remotely pass as one in this wonky place. Looking down at the tree, she spots the head of.. something poking out of the tree and assumes that is the culprit. "I reckon that explains that, then" she comments with a chuckle and looks back down at the animal, giving it a pet.
"Now, who are you," she points to the fox-deer hybrid thing "and who are you? I'm not even expecting an answer here, this is mostly rhetorical. Why am I talking to wildlife now?" she asks herself, frowning and rubbing the back of her neck.
C'Leena has been here all of, like a week and is already going kooky. This might be bad.

The biped was confused. She asked something in a tongue of rolling tones and sharp stops with an alto voice. She looked around, looking for something, and seemed to find it once she'd made a 180. Behind her was a tree, and at the base of that tree, was the hole I'd just stuck my nose into. Peeking out from the hole was a little black snout with beady black eyes and semi stiff tufts of white that fanned out from between it's brow ridges, continuing down its back and into the hole. That seemed to be what she was looking for. Why she'd look for it and then…pet it? was a mystery to me. Is that what stabbed me? The hairy tufts coming from its head didn't quite seem like the needles that had been in my snout, but it seemed to be the hole's inhabitant. I approached it warily, and it tensed. I slowly lowered my head to sniff it and it whipped itself around, revealing its spiky buttocks. This time I was ready, and dodged its attack. Ok, so this is definitely the thing that stabbed me. But then how did this one not get stabbed? I turned my investigation over to my benefactor. I sniffed her more in depth. Nosing around her metallic hand, neck, butt, and bag. Her bag smelled of food. I rested my head on her bag. Food please?
Meanwhile, sometime when I had gone to investigate the spikey one, the stick-y one had dismounted my head and moved to my back. He bowed to the biped before sitting down and just… watching her.
