Skill Shop
Everything your character can do when it comes to combat or in character abilities is dictated by a list of skills. It is assumed that everyone can do basic things like swing a sword or throw a punch, however these skills function as a tier list, determining how good someone is at a specific skill. These skills also determine what items you can purchase and what shops you can buy things from. For example, in order to buy a sword from the Sea Domain shop you must have Novice in Sea Domain. The skill levels and what they allow are listed below.
There are three different categories of Skills: Martial, Arcane, and Utility.
There are three different categories of Skills: Martial, Arcane, and Utility.
Martial encompasses weaponry and abilities that rely on the use of a weapon or a fighting style.
Arcane refers to anything based in our setting's magic system - the formulae arcanum - which allows characters to cast spells with varying effects.
Utility is a catch-all category for Skills that function in unique ways compared to Martial and Arcane Skills.

Skill Levels
Your level in any Skill determines how proficient your character is in that Skills. This can be a result of your character's training, growth, or uncovered power. However, you want to explain your character's progress is up to you. Prestige Classes, Guilds, and Skill Shops all have certain prerequisites related to Skill Levels, as such you may need to increase your level in order to access those features. The price for increasing a Skill Level is the same for every Skill.
Level | Description | Price |
Novice | You have developed the fundamentals and key skills required to practice your art. You still have much to learn, but there is a gap between you and a person who has no training in this skill. | 50 Solars |
Master | You have surpassed the expectations of your peers and are elevated to the rank of Master; you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals and more technical skills. The gap between you and an uninitiated individual may as well be a gulf. | 50 Solars |
Exalted | Your skills are the stuff of legend. You have learned so much of the art you practice that you can now introduce new techniques and ideas into the culture that surrounds it as a respected member. The gap between you and the average person with no training might as well be an ocean. | 50 Solars |
