Arcane Domains
In Charon there are six Domains of magic, realms that encompass the six types and styles of magic. When manipulating magic a user will tap into one of these six Domains, harnessing its energy and power, allowing them to complete crazy effects. Mages can practice a specific Domain buy learning its Arcane Skill, giving them access to spells and abilities within that domain. Some mages take it one step further by learning multiple skills, giving them access to a a variety of magical skills. Magic is formed by harnessing and manipulating mana which is formed within the body. This resource is spent on casting spells while in battle or in a dire situation.
Light Domain
The Light Domain encompasses strength, life, power and provides a variety of effects and abilities. Its symbol is the sun and is mostly identified as the life domain. It includes light spells that can be used to ward of darkness or vanquish evil. Holy and healing magic that can protect, defend or heal allies and ward of enemies. Its the domain of patience and life and is normally used my clerics, paladins or holy fighters of justice and life. While normally viewed at as a good domain, these spells can be exceptionally powerful in the hands of anyone, regardless of the intent behind its user.
Dark Domain
The Dark Domain encompasses cunning, ambition, and the ability to out think someone else. Its symbol is the moon and is sometimes identified as the sneaky death domain. It includes dark spells that can be used to trick or harm its enemies but also has a darker side due to the nature of the domain. It attracts dark mages, necromancers and profaners of life. Its abilities include damaging spells, harmful life spells and magic of cunning and trickery. While it is normally viewed at as a darker more unfriendly domain, it the right hands it can be used by wise and cunning mages to manipulate the battle field to their favor.
Earth Domain
The Earth Domain involves physical magic encompassing the elements of Earth, Nature and Fire. This includes earthen based magics that manipulate the earth, fire based magics using heat and flame and nature based magics involving animals, plant life and the natural world. Earth Domain mages normally take the form of hermits, druids or pyromancers and harness the energies of life and the earth beneath them.
Sea Domain
The Sea Domain encompasses the oceans and bodies of water, including the world beneath it. This includes water and ice magic, manipulating their forms and summoning them for both defensive and offensive skills. Sea Domain mages are often scholars or teachers, using the knowledge to teach or instruct others. They also manipulate and harness the raw power of the sea in combat.
Sky Domain
The Sky Domain revolves around the air above and takes the form of wind, lightning and storm based magic. Sky Domain mages manipulate the erratic energies of the sky and are normally travelers or wanderers who study the world. Sky magic can manipulate the weather, effect the battlefield or direct their attacks towards enemies. The Sky Domain also supportive spells that can help allies and assist others in combat.
Space Domain
The Space Domain is a unique section of magic that does not incorporate the physical world, but instead revolves around the mystical and unknown aspect of magic. This domain includes things like space and time manipulation, and can also include more mystical illusion based things, the ability to read the stars or see ones future. Those who practice this domain are normal seers, readers of the stars or sooth sayers, people who are curious about the way the world works.
