Weapon Creation
Charon is a dangerous place, filled with wild monsters, chaotic natural disasters, and devious villains. Being an adventurer comes with a short life span; however, you can increase your chances of survival by equipping yourself with the best in physical weapons and combat accessories!
The weapon shop gives you the ability to build your very own weapon and upgrade it throughout your journey with various enhancements. At Charon's core, we are about letting you play what you want without restricting your character’s vision. The goal of this shop is to give you basic tools and guides to build a weapon the way you want it to look, and not limiting you to general ideas.
The guide below will walk you through the process and provide a template to be used when purchasing weapons.

Skill Levels
Novice | You have developed the fundamentals and key skills required to practice your art. You still have much to learn, but there is a gap between you and a person who has no training in this skill. You can create a base weapon with a Type, Size, Damage, and a Specialty. |
Master | You have surpassed the expectations of your peers and are elevated to the rank of Master; you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals and more technical skills. The gap between you and an uninitiated individual may as well be a gulf. You can now purchase Enhancements to upgrade your created weapon. |
Exalted | Your skills are the stuff of legend. You have learned so much of the art you practice that you can now introduce new techniques and ideas into the culture that surrounds it as a respected member. The gap between you and the average person with no training might as well be an ocean. |
Skills and Types
The first step in creating a weapon is choosing its type, which is based on our weapon skills. A weapons type acts as it's base, allowing you to further build upon it with unique enhancements. You can only select a type if you have at least Novice in that Types skill. A weapon can only have one type and refers to it when it comes to Martial Abilities, Spells, Features or other effects that reference a weapon.
Type | Description |
Blade | The Blade type encompasses weapons with a bladed edge. Allows this weapon to be used with Blade related effects. Requires Novice in Blade |
Blunt | The Blunt type encompasses weapons with a flat or rounded surface. Allows this weapon to be used with Blunt related effects. Requires Novice in Blunt |
Marksman | The Marksman type encompasses weapons that are fired or thrown, this does not include black powder weapons which are exclusive to Prestige and Subclasses. Allows this weapon to be used with Marksman related effects. Ammo does not need to be purchased, creating a weapon with the Range tag gives you 20 normal ammo. Requires Novice in Marksman |
Unarmed | The Unarmed type encompasses physical attacks with your body and weapons that amplify unarmed strikes. Allows this weapon to be used with Unarmed related effects. Only Unarmed weapons need to be purchased - attacks made with your body, including punches, kicks and head strikes do not need to be purchased. Having Master in Unarmed gives your physical body one Enhancement slot which applies the enhancements effects to attacks made with your body instead of a weapon. A weapon does not need to be purchased to apply this enhancement and the body enhancement does stack with other weapons. Requires Novice in Unarmed |
Polearm | The Polearm type encompasses elongated weapons usually with a shaft or pole as the main portion of the weapon. Allows this weapon to be used with Polearm related effects. Requires Novice in Polearm |
Weapon Size
Step two is picking a weapon size which determines the overall shape and size of your base weapon. Now with a Type and Size selected, you can determine what kind of weapon you want, with it's own unique look and flavor. The overall appearance of the weapon is up to you, however the general look must match the items size. For example, you can make a small blade look like a dagger or a shard of glass, but you can not make it look like a giant sword.
Size | Description | Price | Weight |
Small | A variety of types that focuses on stealth, utility, and versatility. Small size weapons encompasses classics such as a dirk, a needle, hatchets, a hidden blade, a wrist-mounted crossbow, stiletto, a rock, garottes, shuriken and tonfa. One Enhancement Slot | 25 Solars | 1 Point |
Medium | The bulk of weapons fall under this category. Medium size items include gladius, rapier, katana, axes, whips, war fans, chakram, nunchaku, mace, morning-star, short-bows, crossbows, and more. Two Enhancement Slots | 35 Solars | 2 Points |
Large | When the need to make sure a body is six feet under, an individual would reach for a large weapon such as a zanbanto, a zweihander, nodachi, a hand and half sword, battle axe, warhammer, or flail. Two Enhancement Slots | 45 Solars | 3 Points |
Polearm | Weapons that have a considerable haft and a short, heavier attachment at one or both ends. Weapons of this type are typically wielded with two hands, and are very flexible, maximizing defense by keeping melee combatants at bay while striking from a distance. These include quarter staffs, halberds, spears, javelins, and other mostly handle weapons. Must have Novice in Polearm to select this size. Two Enhancement Slots | 45 Solars | 3 Points |
Damage
After you have selected a weapon size, it is time to attach damage to it. Damage dictates the primary type of damage the weapon deals, such as Slashing, Piercing or Bludgeoning, and comes with its own unique feature. A weapons damage indicates what kind of abilities or effects it interacts with, and can be applied to any weapon Type. Only one Damage can be applied to a weapon, but does not restrict how it can be used in character, only what effects are applied.
Example: A Blade with Slashing can be used to stab, slice or smack with the flat end In character, but only applies Slashing effects.
Example: A Blade with Slashing can be used to stab, slice or smack with the flat end In character, but only applies Slashing effects.
Type | Description |
Slashing | Slashing encompasses a wide variety of edged or bladed weapons. Attacks made with a Slashing weapon inflict more damage if the targeted area already has a minor or major wound. When you attack an already damaged area possessing a minor or major wound with this weapon, the attack causes a new major wound. |
Piercing | Piercing encompasses weapons that primarily stab, jab, or pierce. The first time you would strike a piece of armor or a shield with this weapon, the attack both consumes the first Hit Prevention and still deals damage as if the Prevention was not there. |
Bludgeoning | Bludgeoning encompasses weapons with flat or blunt surfaces intended to smash or bash. Attacks you make with a weapon that has Bludgeoning Damage against armor or shields remove two Hit Preventions instead of one. |
Specialties
Specialties are additional, optional tags that can be applied to a weapon to give it unique and specific features. A weapon can only have one Specialty applied to it, and you must have the listed skill to choose the upgrade.
Hand to Hand | Encompasses a wide variety of weapons that can assist in keeping the hands free, like mounted weapons, or weapons that amplify your melee attacks, like punch daggers and knuckles. Can be chosen if you possess Novice in Unarmed. Can only be applied to Small sizes. |
Range | Encompasses weapons that shoot projectiles or are able to strike from a longer range. Includes both launched and thrown weapons. Can be chosen if you possess Novice in Marksman. |
Reach | Increases the range of a melee weapon from close to medium distance, allowing you to strike from a further distance. Can be chosen if the weapon is Medium, Large or Polearm. |
