Gwendolyn stood in the midst of several thousand crabs tapping her foot. The guilds she worked for had sent her out here to the Halberds Tip to deal with this little crab rave, but there was supposed to be another unnamed freelancer here to help her. There were a couple of scattered soldiers out and about with buckets attempting to wrangle small amounts of crabs, but none looked the sort to be speak themselves “Freelancer”. There was a small conference going on nearby that she was pulling double duty for as well. The military brass had assembled on this fortress island to discuss secret matters on the goings on about the country. Easy enough, she thought. She also thought there would be more soldiers to help her, but apparently they were also attending this meeting. She sighed, idly stepping around the red, clawed society covering the dock. It was one thing to be summoned for a job, it was another to be asked to work together with another. Cooperation meant several things to her, and the first among them meant not starting until both parties were on the same foot. She had been given zero description for whom she would be working with, all she knew is that they were now approximately one minute late. The belltower on the small island base tolled out one o’clock. The sun was high in the sky and she could feel it on her fair skin, giving her the worlds smallest tan building up to a huge sunburn. Luckily, the cloud of smoke she surrounded herself with as well as the veil she constantly wore alleviated some of the affects. It did little to hide the annoyance however. Quest Name: Catching Crabs Participants: Two or more Location: Sol City Post Requirements: 4 post per person, 200 words per post Reward: +1 Renown Description: Over the last few weeks a strange occurrence has been plaguing the capitol. Some bizarre phenomenon has caused thousands of sea crabs to infest the city, covering the entire island and causing a terrible nuisance to the locals. Whatever the disturbance was has passed, but thousands of the sea creatures still remain, trapped in yards, homes, businesses and other places they have no reason to be. We need you to come to Sol City and help us remove the crabs! You can use any means necessary as long as the crabs are no longer here!

Amelia tripped over crabs as she hurried to where she was meant to meet with someone. Darn it, she was going to be late at this pace. And there were crabs everywhere. She sighed, tripping over yet another crab as she kept hurrying along. No wonder she'd been called for this, this was a total mess!
Amelia listened as the bell tower struck 1 o'clock, marking her officially late. Dang it! These crabs annoyed her almost as much as when that patron replaced all the chairs with mimics. Totally in the way, and would probably be next to impossible to get out. She finally reached the docks, 4 minutes late. She had tried to be early, but first got lost. Then kept getting blocked by crabs. Then got lost yet again. Oh well, hopefully the person she was hired to work with wouldn't mind. It was only a couple minutes. She saw someone standing on the docks, looking frustrated.
She stumbled over yet another couple crabs as she approached the person she saw. She did see some others, but they didn't seem like she was meant to meet any of them, because they weren't really waiting. She hurried next to the person, giving them an apologetic smile.
"Sorry for being so late." She said, looking around at this sea of red. "These crabs kept getting in my way, and I got a little lost." Amelia directed her attention towards the person. "Names Amelia, I was hired to help with this crab problem."

“Pleasure, you may call me Lady Gwendolyn. And worry not about the tardiness, it isnt as though the crabs are going anywhere.” She was after all, only slightly annoyed. Four minutes was crabcake compared to the apparent herculean effort it would require to rid this place of crustaceans. Speaking of which, that was the real problem now wasn’t it. How were they going to move this many crustaceans back into the water without breaking anything important. Why were they here in the first place? It wasn’t as though there was a massive rotting chicken sitting in the midst of the fortress. Perhaps they had arrived here simply to be annoying to her personally. A cosmic joke cruel enough to register as a war crime. “I’ve attempted to wrangle a few of them already, they don’t seem to care about the scents that I carry” She said, gesturing to the still smoking maul. “I also tried to just grab an armful, but they pinched right through my cotton gloves…”
What a pain in the ass, she didn’t want to have to do actual work with actual magic for the purpose of displacing crustaceans, but unless the dwarf woman had any better ideas that looked to be where this was heading.

Amelia stuck her hand out to shake, nodding to the person. "Pleasure to meet ya, Lady Gwendolyn!" She grinned, shaking her hand. "And yeah, sadly these crabs aren't putting themselves back in. Heck of a lot easier if they could." She chuckled, retracting her hand and looking at the sea of red again.
She frowned, hearing Lady Gwendolyn talk about her attempts, and watched the few soldiers attempt to wrangle em as well. This would take a while, no doubt about that. She put her hands on her hips and kept eyeing the surroundings. How would they do this without some sort of large scoop? She sighed, shaking her head.
"Well, any ideas?" She asked, swinging her gaze back to Lady Gwendolyn. "I've not got many, unless its just picking em up one by one and tossing em all back in the water. Not much of a plan." She exampled, picking up a crab near her foot and chucking it into the ocean.
"Certainly easy, but with this many..." She whistled, watching the crab plop into the sea. "Well, certainly won't be a quick thing. Unless you're speedy with tossin things." She shook her head and grinned again. They were in for a long night, that was definitely for sure.

What did crabs truly desire was the question being asked right now. At the moment, the apparent desire was to flood these docks, but in general what normally attracted them. Gwendolyn wept internally, for she did not know. She shouted out to the myriad dockworkers. “Oi, Any of you ever go crabbing? What is the bait?”
One of the Dockhands lifts his head from a small mountain of crabs to respond. “I dunno, I suppose old meat.”
“Old meat? Are crabs like rats or something?” “Rats of the sea I guess”
Gwendolyn turned back to her dwarf accomplice, shrugging her shoulders. She surely didn’t have any old meat on her, the smell alone would send her dry heaving into the water herself. Thumbing the ring on her finger from the ever handsome Wolfe, she paged through his abilities and spells. After scrolling through a suspicious amount of ooze related spells, she found an interesting one. With a cast of a sigil that floated before her, she dialed one of the outermost rings to the right about thirty degrees. The one that supposedly represented time would be set forward, to hopefully achieve the desired result. With a press to activate the sigil, it dissapated, thin mist emanating forward into the sea. A small table formed from the mist, and slowly but surely formed several large plates of food. Chicken, Ham, Garlicky greens, all about two days old from her tampering with the spell. All floating about twenty yards out to sea. The scent hit her like a freight train even from thirty feet away. Turning, she lifted her veil to throw up into the ocean. She could only hope that this plan would work. Grand Feast: A simple spell that is used on a solid surface, such as the floor or a table. When cast, this spell will fill the surface up with all kinds of food, from cooked meats, to fruits and even desserts. This spread of food will last for 12 hours and is enough to fully feed three people, allowing them to go another 24 hours without needing to eat. This spell can only be used once per topic.

Amelia watched with curiosity as Lady Gwendolyn twiddled with her ring, casting something and summoning a large table of old meat. She winced, pinching her nose with her hand to block the smell. Lady Gwendolyn certainly didn't like it either, for she threw up almost immediately in the ocean.
She wasn't exactly fond of the smell either, but she'd smell some pretty bad things in tavern before. She looked around, watching for any crabs making any sort of advancement to the table. She was pretty close to just speeding around and tossing all the crabs into the ocean herself, since the crabs didn't seem to be moving very fast towards the table.
Thankfully for both of their senses, they were advancing. Just slowly. Painfully slow, to be exact. She shoved some crabs nearby closer to the table, hoping to get them all going faster. Only made them stop to pinch her though. What a nuisance. She sighed, frowning.
"Any hope these things will hurry it up?" She looked around, seeing Lady Gwendolyn steadying herself. She turned, watching the crabs advance ever so slowly to the table of old meat. "Or that we can make them hurry it up?" Her frown deepened slightly, slowly turning it into a scowl. Almost as slow as these crabs.

Gwendolyn stood up and wiped the bit of saliva from her mouth that remained. The crabs were still here?! Well, it wasnt like it would be immediate. Though they were going exceptionally slow, even for crabs. This really was a nuisance of monstrous proportions, she could already feel a headache of frustration coming on. There was only one question left on her mind… Could crabs feel fear? “Amelia, know that this is not directed towards you. LISTEN HERE YOU CRABBY SONS OF BITCHES. I AM LADY GWENDOLYN MYSTWUD OF THE FROST GALE AND YOU WILL GET OFF THIS DOCK WITHOUT DELAY. NO MORE SHALL WE WITHSTAND YOUR CRUSTACEAN VACATION.”
The gleam of her Mystwud crest on her hip shone brightly in the sun of the midafternoon, and the crabs actually reacted. With increased haste, they began sauntering back into the water both towards the meal that had been laid out for them, and in all other directions. It was incredible to see the tidal wave of movement the centered on the pair of women as the several dockhands all looked up with a small amount of fear themselves. Given time, almost all of the crabby invaders had departed, except for a few apparently deaf crabs that lingered about that were plucked from their perches by worried warriors. “Well, I guess that settles that. Thanks for the help Amelia, Hopefully we wont meet again soon to deal with similar problems. At least with crabs.” The warlord often wears a symbol or sigil portraying their influence. This can come in the form of a banner worn on their person, a cloak, cape or other piece of fabric brandishing their mark or some other form of recognition of their power. The warlords own power emanates from this mark, instilling fear in those around them. A 10 foot diameter aura pulsates out from this banner, allowing the warlord to exert their influence and fear. Once activated any enemy within the range of the aura will become fearful of the warlord, unable to move towards them or take offensive actions against them for their next post. This ability can only be used once per topic.
