Noorh Vyaktiva
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Race: Human
Nationality: Zeinav Desert
Appearance: Noorh is an athletic - and remarkably tall - woman with waist-length dark brown hair, amber eyes and an ochre complexion. She has a small, sharp and downturned nose, high cheekbones and a long neck. While her body may appear thin and dainty at a glance, hers is a form that many years of dancing and dueling have made remarkable in speed and gymnastic prowess. This toned form is usually adorned generously with her beloved jewelry, from the bazaars of her hometown. Nothing expensive, admittedly: made mostly from cheap tin and copper, with coloured glass beads in lieu of any precious stones. It's notability comes from the fact that she wears so much of it! Large looped earrings, a chain from her pierced nose. A glittering headress, bedazzled choker and multiple bangles on her wrists and ankles. She jangles and clinks with each step. She turns heads and looks regal, mysterious and ethereal. Her gold harness top, wide flowing trousers and colourful sandals boldly describe her as someone who succeeds in standing out and isn't afraid of being seen.
Personality:
A childlike fascination for all happenings large and small is the facet of Noorh's personality that all who know her would quote as her main trait. She is equally likely to be enamoured by an overflowing treasure chest and a snail on a leaf. She has a strong love for plant life, finding each unfamiliar flower or tree type worthy of pause and ponder. This love for nature is second, however, to her love of people. An extrovert completely, and a loud one at that. Noorh wouldn't be afraid to approach the toughest looking guard in the city and ask how they got their scars. The very personification of the phrase: "a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet", Noorh will always be one to ramble or chatter, for better or worse. These attempts at connection always err positive. Noorh considers herself a kind person - not predisposed to anger or bitterness, and consciously trying to make others smile, whether it be through a joke, a compliment, or an affectionate ruffle of the hair. It is almost like a game to her, where the objective is to lower the guard of the person and break the barrier that separates people, divides them into their own little worlds. She wishes to enter as many little worlds as possible, and by doing so, make them happier even if for a moment.
It is this same drive to preserve and create happiness that gives her a strong urge to protect the innocent. While she will always try to diffuse a situation peacefully at first, she understands that those who cannot be reached must be dealt with. Still, she fights to subdue rather than maim or kill. She has beaten many a villain until they couldn't carry on, but the number of lives she has taken can be counted on one hand. Still, it is enough to weigh heavy on her mind and it would only be in moments where it was truly the only option that she would even draw a sharp weapon. The daggers on her back are truly for show.
History:
Noorh was born and raised in a small village in the Zeinav Desert, and from a young age had always been a little hyperactive. She was a handful for her parents, who had much difficulty preventing her from running off and getting lost in the scorching dunes. Unable to keep still or focus on almost anything, she ended up reprimanded quite often for her lack of commitment to her chores and her tendency to wander off. She was always a rough-and-tumble sort of girl, climbing palm trees and being found on roofs or contorted into the smallest of spaces. Her parents decided that she needed a constructive, focused outlet for all this energy. They sought help at a town meeting, and Noorh was taken under the wing of the town's most famous personality: a court-entertainer known as Abhinaya. She was trained, but not strictly so at first. The dancing expert encouraged creativity and free expression, while kindly introducing concepts that would allow her to pose herself artfully and beautifully. She gave Noorh the tools she needed to express herself. What was at first a short meeting for the two to prance and jump about together - to tire the young girl - turned into a strict regimen of practice. The change happened so slowly over the years that Noorh did not realize it. By her late teens she was waking up before dawn and practicing for hours, until the heat of the afternoon sun forced the village indoors to nap or rest. Then in the cool evenings she would do her chores, but with feet that rhythmically tap-tap-tapped the floor to keep her focused as she cleaned clay pots or washed clothes. She had finally found a way to cope, all thanks to Abhinaya, but she never got a chance to thank her, for she was taken. Claimed against her will by a noble, to entertain him and his court alone. Noorh mourned this injustice, but such was the norm for statusless villagers such as them. Her town consoled a heartbroken Noorh, telling her it was a life of luxury that Abhinaya had been gifted. Still, it hurt. It hurt so much that Noorh tried to find her teacher, resorting to subterfuge to do so. She bought all the cheap jewelry that her street performances had earned her, coated herself in it, and invited herself into the noble court as if she was supposed to be there. It worked.
She found Abhinaya a changed person, telling Noorh to leave rather than help her. If they ran away they would be fugitives. Unable to return home. It was painful, but Noorh knew that a life on the run was worse than a life of servitude. But she swore that she would return one day, and help her. She left home soon after, simply unable to handle a regular day without her beloved mentor and their daily lessons. She had regressed somewhat, and the urge to wander has returned. No-one stopped Noorh now that she was grown up, and she has been wondering ever since, vowing only to return home once she was strong enough to challenge the court and save her teacher.
