Sol city was always moving, but today the hustle and bustle of the capital was even more pronounced, and with reason it was Hearth Day after all, a celebration where love, affection, and kindness are at their peak. People spend time with their loved ones and the whole market is filled with gifts and decorations for those you care about.
Arashi had never seen such a display, the huge city had impressed him once already but being there on such a holiday was something special. He even got a bit homesick spending Hearth Day all the way here. His family and all those he knew being quite a ways away probably celebrating without him, or maybe they thought about him too... It's hard to tell... Still he wished he had someone to celebrate hearth with... Maybe next year. For now he wandered around trying not to think much of it, and hoping to find something to distract himself. Although he could feel the peace and happiness radiating from around him, he was usually content seeing others be happy, he liked people watching, and while it made him a bit sad that he couldn't quite participate, he felt glad that the world at least for today seemed happy

What a stupid day, an annoying holiday created by the rich and upper class as another excuse to party and get drunk, as if they needed more excuses. People all across Charon spent the day together, doting on each other, buying gifts and feeding stupid chocolates to each other, it was disgusting. While the whole nation celebrated the day, Sol City was definitely the place to be. Every city block threw a party, with dancing, drinking and singing filling the streets, the people of the capitol loved this day, almost as much as they loved each other.
Plague hated them all, but the parties thrown by rich nobles provided a unique source of income, which was the only reason the young alchemist left her nest today. She had been hired, along with many others, to act as a scout or guard for one of the biggest parties in the city. Some snobby rich guy by the name of Mr...Purple? Mr Plum? She didn't care, but he was offering a good chunk of coin to those willing to forego the days festivities and instead work as secret security. The job was going to be easy, all she needed to do was blend into society, speak to no one, and make sure those who were not invited stayed out.
As the masked woman patrolled the streets, something became incredibly obvious to her, she stuck out like a sore thumb. Everyone in the streets were with their loved ones, eating lunch, sharing drinks and enjoying the day. Her stoic, grumpy stroll made it obvious that she was up to something, this defeated the point of acting as undercover security. That's when she had a clever idea, all she needed to do was find a lonely sad sap and pretend to go on a date with him. She could keep her cover up and blend into the crowd while still doing her job.
It only took her a few moments to find a simply dressed man strolling the streets alone, with a longing expression on his face. She connected with this man instantly, knowing the face he wore all to well. It was very common for her to be alone, so she knew what it was like. He was the perfect mark! Before she could try to seduce this man however, she needed to become easier on the eyes. Plague was already an odd woman, wearing a olive green jump suit with various colored patches where the suit had ripped in the past. Her head was covered in a green hood and her face covered by a plague doctors mask.
It was not very common for people to see the girls real face, but desperate measures called for desperate actions. Plague removed her mask and lowered her hood, revealing a young, dirty, freckled face, with a pair of bright blue eyes peering from beneath a set of blonde bangs, her short feathered hair blew in the afternoon air. Putting on a fake smile, Plague approached the man, trying her best to play the part of a lonely, beautiful girl looking for the man of her dreams.
"Ummm Excuse me, sorry to bother you, I noticed you were alone, was wondering if you would mind some company?"

As he walked down the street Arashi kept on thinking, his melancholy getting to him a bit, he looked at some of the love themed decorations and sighed. as he wondered what he should do, a young woman approached him, she was really cute even if her attire was a bit... Odd... But the oddest part was what she asked. She asked Arashi if he would mind company..? I mean he was alone and feeling quite a bit lonely, but he didn't expect anyone to approach him because of it, much less someone as cute as her. He replied without thinking much "Oh? Uhm, no I don't mind if you don't." He wasn't very sure what to say so he just went with the truth. "Sorry I'm not from around here and I'm not very used to people just approaching me like that..." He let out a bit of a nervous chuckle. Still the thought that this might be some sort of local prank or a way to find victims to steal from or something across those lines crossed his mind, but he decided to ignore those thoughts, after all he would rather lose some credibility and a bit of his pride over actually being mean to someone who might feel like he was feeling right now.
So he decided to present himself "I'm Arashi Tento, what's your name..?" He trailed off a bit as he wasn't sure what was happening, what he was doing, or how he should act, never having been much of a social person, this sort of situation in this sort of environment was definitely a first.

It was a wonder this Arashi fellow did not instantly catch on to her ruse, she was no good at things like this, specifically talking to strangers and pretending to be interested in them. She hated small talk, and despised needy men who thought they could win her favor with good looks and charm. What a stupid holiday this was. The job was the priority though, and if she was going to please her new boss, she was going to need to blend in. He appeared to be a sweet fella, someone that just found themselves alone on a day that was all about being with someone. Most people with a heart would have at least sympathized with him, but Plague, she could care less about his feelings, and had no qualms with taking advantage of his loneliness.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Arashi. You can call me Eliz...Elizzy, call me Elizzy. I do apologize, I don't normally approach random strangers like this. But I just saw you here all alone on Hearth day, and I to find myself alone, so I figured maybe I could spend the day walking with and getting to know a complete stranger."
Barf, she could barely get the words out without making herself throw up. Her attempt at being social was disgusting, why did people talk like this. Money was money, and there was not much she wouldn't do for it, but gods be damned this was painful.

It was to be expected that Arashi wouldn't realize this was a ruse, He was not used to this sort of thing, or even culture. So someone approaching him out of nowhere to spend Hearth Day together might be common for all he knows, The thought of it being a ruse did cross his mind, but he would rather be a fool than an asshole. Besides she seemed like a nice girl, although how or why she was alone right now was unknown to him, it could've been a bit of a red flag, but he didn't really think about it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Elizzy" he smiled a mix of welcoming warmth and distant loneliness. "Don't worry I'm also not used to this... but I'm glad you reached out. You're braver than me that's for sure, I think it's a good idea though."
He was feeling a bit better already, the truth was he was a bit of a romantic, and while he knew nothing about the girl in front of him, he did want to, and thanked her for at least approaching him. "Would you like to walk together? Sorry if that's not much of a plan but the truth is, since I'm not from here, I was just looking at the markets and the decorations that the Capital had for Hearth day..."

Most people would have felt bad for this man, a lone stranger who chose to explore the city on Hearth Day. It was a stupid holiday that people took way too serious, she knew the sting of loneliness all too well, having experienced it since the day her parents dropped her off at the orphanage. So no, she did not have sympathy for an out of towner who found themselves alone today, these kind of people deserved to feel a fraction of the suffering she had felt.
Of course she would not vocalize any of this, needing to continue her disguise and secret mission. So as they walked through the decorated city street, Plague just kept her eyes out, watching for any other random people who might have been trying to crash her employers party. To be honest, she was more preoccupied with the task at hand that she barely caught what Arashi was saying, and simply nodded with half hearted interest.
"Brave, uh huh, yeah im brave. Oh look, that is pretty isnt it. "
She would point at a random wreath hanging from a lamp post that had a little paper heart attached to it. Fucking gross, but she had to pretend to be in to all of this crap. The duo started walking, slowly making their way down the street before coming to an intersection. Looking left, then right, Plague decided to take the route that allowed her to stay close to the party going on down the street. That's when a stroke of genius struck her, what better way to patrol a party than to be at said party.
"Hey Arashi, wanna go to a party with me?"

As Elizzy nodded sagely Arashi became amazed at how skilled a listener she was, she was mostly looking around appreciating the scenery around them and yet she managed to not loose track of what he was saying. That's when she pointed at a wreath in a (for him) cheerful manner, Arashi smiled at her, he found it pretty cute that she would be so excited about a pretty standard and simple decoration, but it was indeed pretty. "It really is! I love how they went through the trouble of putting up so many decorations all around such a big city!"
As they turned on an intersection, Elizzy seemed to have gotten an idea, apparently she wanted to go to a party with him? Arashi was honestly flattered "I'd love to, Usually I am not much of a party person, but I'd love to go to one with you!" He was beginning to feel... Happy, In a way he thought wouldn't happen. much less today of all days. He was used to spending hearth day alone a few times he spent it with some friends most of which were family friends... so he never really got a romantic Hearth day. And the truth was, it felt... Good.
