The journey from Zeinav to Moonglade was a pretty simple one, Wizard had hired them a wagon which promptly set off towards the dense jungle. The well organized man retained control for the entirety of their trip, sometimes sitting in silence with Celeste, and other times trying to fully explain how the personalities worked. She was bound to have many questions, everyone did, but the unfortunate part was that none of the personalities really, truly understood what was going on. But being the smartest of the bunch, wizard had begun to pick up on a few things, was self aware, and the best at explaining their weird situation to strangers. So randomly throughout their journey towards Moonglade he tried his best to explain things further.
"You see my dear Celeste, this body is known as Janus, that is the name of our entity, however the main body actually has six different minor identities, or personalities. We coexist together, sharing one body but possessing our own minds, wills, dreams and all manners of other attributes. What makes us unique however is that when one identity takes over, we fully take over, morphing Janus's physical, mental and even spiritual forms. We become a new person, in every sense of the meaning. "
He knew things would be strange for the woman, she barely knew this person, and was now being carted off half away across Charon to spend the day with a serial killer. Wizard felt for her, and was trying his best to make things more comfortable.
"We each gave ourselves our own names, I am Wizard, you met Cultist and Jester, then there is Paladin, Assassin and Barbarian. These are strange names, I understand, I believe they are subconscious manifestations of individual personality traits that belong to Janus as a whole. It's as if the primary host divided their own person into smaller pieces....I find it rather intriguing, do you?"
Eventually the charm of Wizard would wear off as the more trivial and annoying side took over. Luckily for Celeste they had finally made it to their destination, the Lantern Light woods. It was a isolated section of the jungle, off the main road, and nestled between two large lantern trees. Hundreds of these luminous bulb like plants could be seen overhead in the tree canopy, and with the sun beginning to set, things were going to get magical. Before that however, Cultist needed to return, and so as the wagon came to a halt, Wizard relinquished control and allowed the crazed lunatic to assume the role. The pale, silvered haired man returned, his eyes glowing as a smile spread over his face, the sight of Celeste still there, waiting for him to return, brought him more joy than anything he had felt before.
"Well it looks like we made it. I hope Wizard did not give you any problems, he can be a know it all sometimes. Ahhh and we made it before sun set, amazing. I can not wait for you to see this!"

Celeste had almost nothing to say to Wizard. He explained so much, and while she did in fact have so many questions, and he did in fact have an answer to everything, it was all a bit overwhelming. She had gotten some questions that she was either to afraid to ask, or were completely ignored. Like, why did they call the person she connected with the most ‘cultist’, or how the whole switching thing worked. Though one thing Wizard could easily tell; she was not afraid, or upset, even a little bit. All of this was a bit of an adventure, and it’s one she was happy to be on, because she had someone to be on it with.
So when Cultist re-emerged, she was all smiles. “Wizard was fine. Talked… a lot. But he answered a lot of questions I had.” Celeste enjoyed seeing him excited, so she reached out to grab his hand. “I can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about.”

Cultist gently guided Celeste through the thicket, leading her to a clearing he had previously found. It was a nice grove of grass nestled between large lantern trees, with hundreds of bulbs sitting in the air above them. He was not the best at planning things like this, but the body he possessed seemed to have some experience with interacting with people, for deep in the recesses of his mind, he knew what to do. The armored man pulled a red blanket out of his, an ornate piece of fabric he bought while in Zeinav. Cultist found a nice spot in the clearing, laid the blanket down on the ground, and guided the woman over to it.
The sun was now fully descending, the last remnants of line quickly vanishing as darkness filled the void, cloaking the world in shadows. Cultist grabbed Celeste by the hands, took a seat on the blanket and looked up, a warm smile plastered across his face.
"Look above Celeste!"
As the sun light faded, the small bulb like plants began to glow, slowly getting brighter and brighter as night settled in. It was a beautiful sight, hundreds of illuminated bulbs lighting up the natural funnel created by the tree trunks. The entire clearing would begin to glow, giving the area a very dream like atmosphere. Cultist took in the sight, before turning his gaze back to the woman before him. Something clicked, deep in the recess of his subconscious, it was joy.

Celeste followed. It made her happy, seeing someone she liked so happy. From what Wizard had been saying, Celeste was fairly lucky she had gotten to meet Cultist - Though his name might make it seem otherwise. To be fair, it was also fairly unlikely that she was gonna meet someone to show her something so… incredible. She stared into the clearing, taking in the entire thing and almost unaware of her surroundings. It was perfect. Her hand, intertwined with the Changeling’s, squeezed his hand, the wonder and joy clear on her face. Until it wasn’t.
For Celeste, it happened slowly. Her hand grip softened, her breath slowed and she felt like she was being pulled out of reality. There was no physical change at first. A facial expression, from joy to almost panic. Words under her breath. “Gods, no, not right now.” She pulled her hand from Cultist’s, and moved it to her chest, as if she was trying to feel her heartbeat. Only then would it have been noticeable that the air surrounding her turned deathly cold, almost fog-like, and her face would go completely blank.
Celeste turned towards Cultist, her face a little more sunken and pale, and her eyes almost glass-like. She opened her mouth to say something, but words escaped her. After a moment of not being able to speak she would just go back to staring at her hand resting on the ground.

It was the perfect moment, an experience that Cultist had never had. Joy, happiness, romance, they were all things that the other personalities got to experience, but not him, he was only ever summoned when someone needed to be killed. For once he was being used for something different. This moment seemed to last forever, the illumination of the sky, Celeste's hand intertwined in his, it was all so perfect.
But happiness never remained when in the presence of Cultist. He didn't notice at first, but it did not take him long to feel something off. Her grip softened before the hand fully being pulled away, causing him to turn his gaze from the sky and towards his date. Her normal, beautiful, joyous expression was now replaced with a cold, empty, almost death like stare. Instantly on guard Cultist shifted over and placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Celeste, is everything ok? What happened?"
Panic was setting in, did he do something wrong? Did she actually not like being here? His appearance would flicker slightly, colors rippling across the surface of his body. He did not transform yet, but the sensations he was feeling was causing something to stir. Fear began to fully set in, but not a fear he was used to. For once in his life, he was afraid to lose someone.

Gods, she never meant for this to happen. But now he was panicking, and she wanted nothing more than to just assure him nothing was wrong. “C-curse.” She managed to spill out, looking up and meeting his eyes. “I’m… Fine… Just… Part of my curse.” She replied slowly, reaching out to grab his hand again. “It’ll pass.” She whispers, trying to assure him.
She watched as he rippled with color, and she shook her head almost frantically. This wasn’t something she’s ever experienced before, but she did lose her family; She didn’t want to lose the person she’ found the most comfort in since leaving. “Please…. don’t leave– I’m sorry. I’m not trying to…. Ruin… This.” She forced a smile, though on an almost necrotic expression, it was not comforting. “This is so amazing…”
No, this wasn’t working. Celeste squeezed his hand. “Please. I’m sorry.” She leans forward, her lips meeting his very briefly. “I can explain…” She paused, trying to restart her breathing a little bit - It was quite difficult to speak while not taking in any air, after all. “..What is going on… In a minute.”

He had no clue what was going on, dozens of emotions he had never felt before all flooding into his being. The single moment their lips connected was simply bliss, but he had no idea if this was good or not? Celeste had been panicking, or having some kind of reaction to something, and all he wanted to do was be there, to help. Despite how scared he was, how could one be upset after receiving their first kiss, and from a woman that was beginning to change everything.
He sat there frozen, just looking into her pained eyes, watching her struggle, but ultimately begin to recover from whatever she was dealing with. Cultist didn't know what to do, should he say something, was there something he could do? No idea that came to mind seemed appropriate, and so he just sat there, staring into her eyes, his pale, porcelain cheeks turning a faint shade of red.
After moments of trying to catch her breath, Cultist continued to remain silent, now sitting next to her and holding her hands. The soft glow of the lanterns above them continued to illuminate the duo as they just sat in silence. It was strange, no matter how odd either of them were, or how much baggage either of them had, being with Celeste was perfect.

It was so unusual to her. She sat there for all about 5 minutes, catching her breath, pulling herself back into reality, into corporeality, and fighting against something she’s never had a reason to fight again before, until she met him. She’s never wanted to fight before. Usually she’d just… let it take her. She’d be out for a couple of days, at best, and come back near corpse-like, but Celeste wanted this. She wanted to be around this. She smiled, the slight panic and fear of him disappearing fading only slightly as she held on to his hand as her life depended on it. He looked so… Magnificent as he lit up against the light of the lanterns, and now that she was sort of back, she could reap what she had managed to do in a state of panic. She kissed him. Her face was slightly pink, and she was deathly silent for a moment, before she took a deep breath. “I’m sorry. I panicked… I mean, I’m not sorry for… I’m glad… I’m just sorry I panicked.”
She looked down at her hand - The now bony, haggish, cold and pale hands that she had - and shook her head. She didn’t feel the need to explain to anyone, but she wanted to explain to him. “I was cursed. This… Is part of the curse. It happens occasionally, but not often, and usually at very inopportune moments… Like this. It’s hard to explain exactly what it is. It’s like the underworld, or the other side, thinks I belong to it, and tries to… Take me. Forcefully. I can fight against it pretty easily, but one day I won’t be able to. That’s… a long time from now.”
She pulls him closer, resting her head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry. I really like you, and I don’t want to ruin this. You were right, this place is… Absolutely magical. It’s weird, I’ve lived in Moonglade my entire life, and I’ve never seen anything this beautiful.” Oh Gods. Did she ruin it for him? Did she ruin her first ever real date? She was just waiting for a reaction, one of any kind, and trying not to let her tenseness be too obvious, as if she was in a constant state of wincing.
