It was hard not to be incredibly incensed and embarrassed at the same time for Leandros. Vikram was long, long gone by the time Leandros could grab any guards. He pitched in to help corral any loose horses and camels, having to carry one injured donkey back on his shoulder.
When he finally could talk to a guard, it was made quickly apparent that Vikram was not some kindly older man who had just hidden a gift. He was a thief and a scoundrel and Leandros would catch that man if it was the last thing he did. Though that search he thought would have to wait until he was in Zeinav again, certainly the man wouldn't show up here in Capitol Landing.
At least if he did show up here, Leandros had some standing of authority to do something. Today's walk was relaxed though, little suspicion floated through the air as Leandros made a trip through the Sol City. It had been a little while since he had walked the city proper since he started adventuring. There was a peace in being home, a chance to relax without concern about scoundrels and miscreants.
That was Leandros' hope at least, but how long would that hold?

Vikram pulled his Yak into a landing atop a nondescript building in the midst of a quiet Sol neighborhood. It was a pleasantly styled two-story home with a brick chimney and a pleasant porch with a view of the park. A sign out front had said "For Sale" before he had found it, a quick fix of tearing the sign out had kept people from bothering him while he used it as a place to rest and store his goods from the area. In fact, aside from the knocked over sign in the front yard, the only other signs this place was occupied would be the yak on the roof. And of course the house size Dvory Caravan Wagon parked illegally halfway on the sidewalk.
Climbing off of Marvin, He yawned, scratched his belly, and jumped down onto the front lawn. There were several days worth of Sol City official tickets nailed to the side of his wagon... quite the annoyance. He didn't even have a claw hammer to remove the nail. He was about halfway done with his Winter's Crown shenanigans, he had wanted to check out some places in the City to alleviate their belongings. But the nagging prescense in the back of his head had exhausted most of his motivation for the holiday.

Leandros was enjoying his time back at home, the familiar faces a welcome change from the flurry of people he had met recently. Del, Ak'ka, Askr, Vorn, Flynn, Kamille, each of them a fond new friend that he couldn't wait to meet again.
It's faint, but he hears the sound of hooves. The knight turns to look behind him, there usually aren't horses out on the streets at this time of day. It's far too busy to try and get through the crowds of people. Perhaps he was still a bit jittery from the last bout of excitement he had, not only was there a robbery but there was a lot of noise and clamour from the horses and camels.
Still, better safe than sorry. He turns heel and starts to head back towards where he heard the footsteps come, his own starting to echo up the street. Clink...clank...clink...clank. The footsteps echo for awhile as he only had the roughest of ideas of where the sound actually came from.
"Someone lost? I know the streets can be quite troublesome to navigate for your first time through." He rounds the corner of a street, catching the distant sight of a poorly parked wagon. Was that always there?

Marinating in his own thoughts a while, until they were interrupted by rhythmic clink-clank coming from down the street. Familiar... he turned around, seeing a straightbacked knight of the city just round the bend. His eye's squinted, and he recognized the man! Never did get his name, but it was that knight from his escapade in the Oasis! What a small world it was.
His hand raised into the air, his own jingle jangle of various baubles and jewelries filling the air with a cacophonous chorus. If he remembered correctly, they had left on decent terms. He couldn't quite remember what he had told the man to let him off the hook... but he was sure it would be a pleasant catching up.
"Ahlan wa-sahlan Knight! It's me, Vikram! From the Oasis! What a pleasure to see you again. I seem to have run into trouble once more! Some overzealous city guard has seemed to nailed several papers to my Dunerider... would you happen to have anything to remove the nail? I worry that it will catch on my robes you see..."

"You!" Leandros immediately recognized the man from their last encounter, it was hard to forget him and the indignity caused by the rapscallion. The clink-clank picked up a bit as he hastened towards the wagon.
"I imagine these are all dutifully put here, fines for such a haphazard placement of your wagon here." The knight looks over the tickets, seeing just how numerous and old some of them are. "There are services to move things like this if you have not the time. I'm sure your ill-gotten gains could pay for a coach hand to drag it to your domicile or wherever you find rest in this city."
One hand held onto the tickets as the other simply pried the nail out from the wagon after a moment of effort. Leandros stuffs the tickets into Vikram's hands, placing the nail on top of them.
"Do you need assistance finding the closest guardhouse so you can pay those fines?" As much as he tried to stay calm and even hand, he was clearly holding back a good bit of frustration and maybe just a tinge of pride at being able to redeem himself. He might not have much to turn him in on the theft for, but he could handle a simple civil infraction or 20.

His eyebrows raised at the knights insistance that he has done a wrong somehow to this city. In his mind it was his Wagon, and he could park it wherever. And what did he mean by ill-gotten gains? Was he talking about the stuff that he had liberated from the supply depot in Zeinav? Preposterous, if anything those gains were well-gotten.
"No no, I do not think you understand. I have already "fine-ded" the papers on my wagon, I wish to unfine-d them immediately. So much wasteful paper p-teh" He spits towards the ground. The throbbing headache was making him slightly more irritable than normal... It had been bothering him ever since he had stolen that crate. Did the entity not understand it was all in good fun? He had even given all the gold bars within to the neighborhood urchins when he had arrived here. The journey across the Luna Sea was harsh for Marvin, and he did not want to carry the crate any further. "I have no need for guards nor their assistance. I will allow them to continue their naps in peace. I thank you for your assistance, but I have matters to attend to." He turns to walk away, an exasperated "Pshaah" escaping as he rubbed his temples.

"It is your wagon, hence why the fines are yours to resolve. Strange as it may sound, other people do exist in this city and have need to use this path more so than a forgotten and abandoned wagon. You should count yourself lucky it was not taken in and sold off."
What limitless patience Leandros usually had is brief when it comes to people that so brazenly shirk off their own offenses and do not take charge of their own misdeeds. It is especially infuriating when it's over something as small as this. A large gauntleted hand grabs the collar of Vikram's clothing as he tries to leave.
"You can take care of this now or I will ensure that your wagon and anything else untoward on you is confiscated and return to the proper owners. I may have been at a disadvantage in Zeinav when we first met, but this is my home. I trained with many of the guards stationed here. Your honeyed words will mean little to them in the face of the disrespect you are showing to our city."
The grip he holds is firm, not willing to be so forgiving this time. He would do his best to win this round and make the man pay up.

His headache erupted with newfound fervor. This insolence...and to think he had taken this young knight as a respectful man previously. Concentration is hard while he is this worked up...why...He hasn't been flustered at all during his past run-ins with Sol City guards. Was it that he knew the man was right? Had apathy and fear blinded him to the truth? No...No... It was the kids that had no respect for their elders. He would teach them...
"You dare....Touch the Sukh of a righteous man? Regret will fill your bloodline after this day, knight, or I am not Vikram, Sukhbir of the Sands" Renewed fervor found his ability to concentrate, he closed his eyes and imagined the flow of energy between himself and the man who held him. He could sense his sturdy aura, directly behind him. Vikram whipped his neck backwards to smack the man in the face with his hefty turban. The first well of energy is the mind, center of intention and decision.
An attempt to duck would be made directly afterwards, withdrawing his sword and preparing to fight. What was he doing? A guard was insisting he pay a parking ticket... Who was he trying to rebel against? No matter.Art of Forced Imbalance attempt 1 (lightheadedness)

Leandros wasn’t quite expecting this to turn into a fight, but somehow he knew this wouldn’t resolve itself quietly. He had to be careful, this man was clearly much more than just a dottering old man who believed himself above others. And from the way he acts it’s clear there is much more to him than just a silvered tongue.
When Vikram does move to try and head it him, the sheer difference in height makes it land likely far from where the man intended. His head would instead bounce of the knight’s breastplate as he ducked away and retreated. Leandros did let go, avoiding getting twisted up with the man.
”This is a long path to travel to merely avoid some unpaid dues. It makes me wonder what else you have in your history.”
As Leandros spoke, he drew his halberd from his back and shifted into his stance. He switched the grip around, aiming to focus on using the blunt hammer head as opposed to the axe blade. He had no intention of killing the man yet. This would be interesting at least, Leandros had the benefit of range, but Vikram had already shown himself to be quick and crafty. Youth versus experience in a age old battle.

No. No no no this was all wrong. What was he doing? A criminal? Was this the path tread by generations of warriors before him? No. His mind was clouded, He wasn't thinking straight. Even the knight who stood before him knew, with the twist of his weapon to the easy, less lethal side. Vikram... you look insane to society right now. Get it together. The grip on his silvered sword tightened, the sweat dripping down his twisted brow coming in droves. "You don't understand knight... I cant, I don't know what's come over me"
This was the only way to fight back. If the entity wanted justice and order then the answer was chaos. It was rapidly becoming the small amount of control he had left. Ever since the incident in the Arid Mesa... It was as though parts of him were no longer wholly his own. The freedom of which to do as he pleases only liberated now through anarchic means. Perhaps a grand gesture of disorder... His grip relaxed, and he sheathed his scimitar. Speaking of which... Lifting the crown of his turban, he reached in and withdrew a sack of appx. 50 solars. "Here, that should cover it. My apologies once again for cutting our meeting short, but there is some secret business I must attend at the Temple of the Sun."With that, he whistled once more, and a hasty retreat found him atop his flying carpet, off towards the Temple. speak easy secret society
