Hylltywyll watched Tsarra struggle about with the monstrous octopus shark hybrid. Surprisingly, she did pretty well against it without any help. Using magic to trap it away from her and cutting it with her scimitar. Maybe she was more powerful than the Fairy had thought. It looked like she didn't need any help, but they weren't going to answer that out loud. He rose up out of the casket, using one hand to pull himself along the stone and the other to hold the book against his side.
"Found the book! Let's go before that thing gets out." they said, pointing to the bubble with the octoshark thrashing about inside. But getting out of here was easier said than done now that the monster was blocking the way out. They'd have to find or make another one, but Hylltywyll had no idea what was on the other side of any of these walls. Unlike their size might suggest, the little Fairy had a lot of magical energy in them, but even their amount might run dry if they tried to create too many holes to get out of here. And the monster could break free and chase after them.
They hated to have to do it, but their best option might just be to take out the monster now while it was trapped. They looked at Tsarra, hesitance written on their face. They reluctantly handed her the book and stood on top of the casket.
"I can kill it, but then... you'll have to carry me..." he said, embarrassed. They had a powerful attack, but it was incredibly draining. "Just keep it still so I don't miss!" he hissed and started casting his spell. He held his hands in front of his, his fingers pointing toward the octoshark. The room started to light up slightly with a purplish glow as energy began tog ether between his fingertips.

Tsarra pants and winces, definitely feeling sore from getting flung around like a ragdoll earlier. She looks at Hyll and sees that he has acquired the weird looking book from the casket. "Good job. Uh, would love ta leave but that thing is in the way of our exit. I don't think it'll be willin' ta let us just swim on out."
The octoshark thrashes about in the water prison, doing its best to try and break from the bubble and get a real snack. Tsarra does what she can to focuse on her spell and keep the angered monster at bay. If that thing got free again, they had no where to swim away to and all they had done so far is make it mad.
She's surprised when Hyll hands over the book to her. Not thinking twice, she shoves it into her bag for safe keeping while they figured out a way to deal with the creature. Or rather, while Hyll figured out a way to deal with the creature. Her mind switches into crew member mode. She had done what she could in the situation and Hyll had a plan so she would support as best as she could. "Aye, capt'n!"
Keeping her attention locked on the creature, her spell holds it in place for whatever Hyll plans on attempting. The octoshark thrashes more and bashes into the sides of the bubble, some of its tentacles which got cut before are ripped apart and flung across the corridor. Blood starts to cloud the water and make it difficult to see while further feeding into the creature's frenzied state.

Hylltywyll grit his jagged teeth in frustration. All the blood was making it hard to see exactly where the monster was in that bubble, but it should be fine, probably. He just had to aim at the center. It was a big creature in a small bubble, he just needed it to stay in that bubble. He let out a breath and resolved himself.
The purple energy lit the entire room in a dim hue as a thin, beam shot out with a screech-like hum, straight to the center of the red swirling sphere of water. As soon as it made contact, the sphere of bloody water opened up, like a balloon popping in slow motion. The octoshark, it's vision completely obscured by the bloody smokescreen, hadn't expected the sudden beam of purple energy at all. It shot directly into the throat of the beast. The skin struck by the beam immediately started turning black and rotting away, the necrosis spreading out from the point of contact in a dark circle. It began spreading slowly at first, but the speed rapidly increased as the beam continued to fire.
The monster roared and lashed out, breaking through the water prison and heading quickly toward Tsarra and Hylltywyll. In the narrow hallway, it couldn't move out of the beam, but it quickly approached. The beam now fired directly into its toothy maw that was barreling toward them. The back of its throat turned black and began to rot, the beam continually intensifying in power, growing steadily thicker and the damage it did growing more rapid.
Tentacles shot forward at them, but before they were able to strike, they went limp and flopped to the ground. The beam had bored a hole straight through the monster's mouth and out its back. The eyes went milky and nearly the entire body was rotted as if it had been dead for weeks, maybe months, rotting at the bottom of the sea.
With the beast dead, the beam thinned and then sputtered for a moment before entirely stopping. HYlltywyll suddenly felt exhausted. With a groan, he began to float limply, his eyes droopy.
"Ah... tired..." was all he could mumble to Tsarra in his state.

With the creature defeated and rotten all to hell and back, Tsarra grabs onto Hyll as he floats around and starts swimming out of the ruin with their collected booty. Scrap pieces of the octoshark float around in the corridor as the current eases and the water returns to a stagnant state.
"That was amazin'! Yer a powerful lil' guy, huh?" She gives Hyll a pat on the top of the head. "Y'know, if I ever get my own ship I'd love ta have you aboard sometime. Could go searchin' for all sorts of treasures all across Charon!" She babbles on as she swims them clear of the viscera and back out into the open corals.
Despite almost becoming fish food, Tsarra felt pretty accomplished and eager to return to the surface, a rare feeling for the triton woman who often failed an fell flat on her face more often than not. "Let's hope those landlubbers appreciate all the trouble we went through ta get that funny lookin' book. If this doesn't get us into the guild then I'll shank 'em upside the head!" She laughs and starts swimming up to the surface which glimmers above their heads.
And then everything gets dark. "What the?" A large shadow passes overhead, but it isn't a whale like last time. As Tsarra pauses to squint up at the dark blob, she doesn't notice the net which sweeps across from behind them and scoops both herself and Hyll up in it. "ACK!"
Rapidly they are pulled up in the net along side the hull of a massive galleon which had just sailed on through at the perfect moment to snatch them in its wake. Tsarra flails as a few other fish caught in the net slap her in the face and flop about while the net breaks the surface and drains of the seawater.
Dangling in the air under the heat of the sun with the ocean breeze replacing the feeling of damp currents, a few swarthy looking pirates lean over the rail of the top deck and look at their fresh catch.
"Well, well, well. Look at what we got 'ere."
