Thallan Sylvanus Qindan
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Half Elf-Human
Sexuality: Homosexual (Bi romantic)
Nationality: Capitol Landing
Appearance: A young attractive half-elf, Thallan has a youthful face, no doubt due to his elven genetics. Although his frame is a bit wider and muscular, instead of slender and graceful– a product of his human heritage. While he doesn’t have a lithe build commonly seen in elves, Thallan isn’t built like a haughty tank either; instead, Thallan has the build and frame of an athletic swimmer. He has relatively wide shoulders, with a narrow waste, and a lean physique. Thallan also has a stronger jawline and ‘chubby cheeks,’ which is complimented with long golden hair, sparking sea blue eyes, and slightly pale golden skin that screams out sun-elf. Thallan often keeps his hair in a ponytail or man bun, with a couple of strands framing his face. His tire often changes depending on the occasion or purpose, although he likes to keep things relatively simple, he has been known to dress fanciful for the right occasion.
Personality: Thallan is odd. For the most part, he is unsure of himself, often questioning the decisions he makes and hiding his lack of confidence under a cocky guise. In that manner, he can sometimes come off as vain or prideful, but it's merely a façade placed on to satisfy an overbearing and cruel father. Some might say he is a bit gullible, as Thallan has a relatively romantic view of what it's like to be a soldier, and doesn’t really take into account the sacrifices, and morally gray decisions that leaders and soldiers often find themselves making. In his father’s own words, “Thallan is smart, intelligent, and strong, but he lacks cunning, ruthlessness, and guile. He’s too innocent, too noble.” His father’s words aren’t completely untrue, Thallan is stubbornly honorable, and tries to follow the chivalrous code of a knight to a tea, bending and twisting it whenever something doesn’t feel “right”. But such twists and distortions are only made for what he deemed to be ‘noble’ actions, which in of itself, is a different can of worms.
History: Thallan is the biological son of “Theodas Qindan,” and “Nia Elaine”. A nobleman, Thallan’s father married another elven noblewoman, while having an affair with a human woman from a local brothel. His father’s wife however, for some reason, could not have children, no matter how much they tried. The exact reason for “Nithroel Qindan” celibacy is unknown. Rumors went about that she was cursed, or that, as a punishment for her husband's infidelity, swore to never bear him children. Deciding that he needed an heir to inherit his household, Thallan’s father decided to legitimize a couple of his bastards and then have them compete with one another to see which would inherit his family’s lands and holdings. These bastards were taken at an early age, young enough that they’d never remember who their real mother was, told that they were siblings, and raised them as his own. For all intent and purpose, they were his children, and members of his household; however, only one would be able to ascend to head of the family.
As one of these legitimized bastards, Thallan never knew his mother, nor did he know about the situation he had been placed in. He knew, like the others, that they had been bastards, seeing that none of them held a common mother. They did not know the true circumstances of their situation, that they were essentially competing with one another, nor did Thallan understand this today. It wasn’t until he was 11 years old, that his father started to manipulate him and his brothers, creating competition and discord between their relationship, while categorizing them under his expectations. Thallan’s older brother, “Drannor Qindan” was deemed the strongest, and therefore, expecting that “enter name here” would be the one to inherit his house– Thallan’s father started to groom Thallan and his siblings for specific “roles”. Therefore, Thallan was largely pushed aside, although he was given training in order to become a stronger warrior to be used by the family. With that being said, his father's twisted competition is still going, and it won't be over until his father is on his death bed and has officially made a declaration.
