A grin crossed the captains lips as he looked down at the dwarven male who would be joining him "Well hello there handsome" he flirted with a shift of his weight towards his hip, hands on them as he looked the other over, the tiefling's tail swayed slightly behind him. He was dressed in lighter clothing than he may typically wear but still wore the same grin as he qas quite excited to see if he could find anything worth value in the lost city that had been uncovered
Ready for a little trip?" he asked raising a brow "I'm sure we can find ways to make it more interesting if that's to your liking" he winked playfully as he walked to the other side of the tent at the work site and grabbed a canteen of water and a few things that seemed useful waiting for a response from the other as he did so. He loved flirting and was quite excited to see what sort of reaction he may get from the dwarven male. It was always fun to see how people reacted as it always seemed to differ in one way or another. Once he got supplies he turned back towards the other

Riggs hated the desert. Hated the heat of it and the unfamiliarity compared to the icy cold. You could never get cool enough here... contrasting to the icy north you could always get warmer.
Their tunic was already sporting a line of sweat in an unfortunate place but they couldn't really help that no matter what they tried. Their hair pulled back tightly to keep as much of it off of their neck as possible and sideburns a little frizzy from the heat. They even opted for just a longer tunic this time instead of the thick pants they normally sported, desperate for some kind of breeze.
So the handsome comment was met with with a raise of the eyebrows and then, since now it was on their mind, maybe a slight appreciation for the tight pants as Flynn bent over to grab things. Then a shake of their head and a flush that only made their heat-red cheeks redder for the thought.
"Unless you have Ice in your pants I think I'd rather get the work done as fast as possible... Which part of the thing are we exploring today?" They clasped the buckle on their pack and grimaced at what that did to their chest. "Please say inside one of the cave places... the darker spots are colder."

Flynn chuckled a bit hearing the rather amusing reaction "Noted I suppose and today we get to go in yes" he nodded with a grin "Got the word from the site owner earlier. So you ready to go then charming?" he asked as he looked to the other, adjusting the pack on his shoulders, at his side was his rapier on his belt and he wore simple tight pants and a white button up shirt and of course his boots
"Should be a nice change of scenery I'd being out of the sun should be good. I see your outfit has changed a bit for the weather and such?" he grinned with a smile "Well it does seem to look quite nice on you" he added and chuckled. It was refreshing being around the other as he found their reactions to his flirting quite fun and amusing and he noticed the little flushed expression that would cross their features. It was cute and made the whole process of exploring these ruins and such far more fun for him. He was definitely glad he jumped on the opportunity for such an adventure and though not much had been found yet it was quite the experience

"Thanks but...I Just gave up on the pants. Too hot... I'm from Frostgale so this heat is torture. And its weird not wearing a lot of layers." Riggs grumbled. "Feels like I'm naked but... I'm also too hot to care."
Riggs tossed the specimen container over their shoulder to clip to their bag to bring anything delicate back with them. It was interesting being around so many people with the same goal. Even stranger that they couldn't just go off on their own and each team was at least two people. Riggs wasn't used to company during their normal work... the more people you had hunting the more likely you'd scare away the game. that just reminded Riggs about that encounter with River.. and then that elven woman... so maybe it could work out with just two people. They didn't really know what kind of explorer Flynn was anyway... were they going to sneak around or just march about? So far the exploration had been a little boring but maybe something interesting would happen this time?
They stood next to Flynn, a little narrowed eyed look up at him against the sunny sky. And everyone was so damned tall...
"Alright long legs... lead the way."

"Right then shorty" he chuckled as he walked from the tent towards the ruins, easing himself down the small embankment to the ruins of the place below heading towards one of the tunnels that had been opened up, as he slowly entered with a torch he had brought from the equipment area, smiling as he entered looking around "Seems like this will be quite the interesting adventure today" he remarked turning around to see how the other was doing and if they were following or not. His gaze then swept back around the area looking for anything that could possibly be dangerous or cause trouble for the pair. He hoped there would be a few good finds at least and perhaps he could even find some interesting things for morrigan and kvasir thinking it could be nice to help out if he possibly could
"So then ready to explore?" he questioned glancing back towards the other with a smile as he then began walking once the other had caught up a bit. He examined the walls and the floor for any sort of traps or trouble wanting to make sure they didnt run into anything worrisome as he had heard stories of some areas like this

"I'm only short to you. I'm actually just average for a dwarf." They hopped down the dip in the ground, "You tall people just never notice the difference until you hit your head on a dwarven ceiling."
A sigh of relief escaped Riggs as they scrambled into the tunnel opening. The sudden darkness brought a cool respite from the beating sun. Riggs fumbled with their own torch and then decided to hold it steady with a foot against the wall while they lit it quickly with a mumbled prayer for luck from Ginma. Lighting things on fire always came really easy to Riggs... they didn't ever question why, just thanked the god and moved on. (Create Spark)
"Ready now! I hope its interesting at least." They sounded much more chipper as they held up the torch to the walls. "Is that... blue? Looks like tile on the walls in places." They reached a hand out to touch one gently.
"That might be part of why this is cooler too..." They crouched down to push away some of the sand on the floor. "here too... Hmm The others might like to know that right? I haven't really done a lot of the 'check out fun new places' stuff so I'm still learning what might be important."

He chuckled with a smile “right well sorry if it actually does bother ya just let me know okay? I’m just kidding around” he added hoping the other wasn’t actually upset as he looked watching the other light their torch “you’re quite good at that I must say” he remarked rather impressed by the arcane skill as he had none of his own to speak of. He then looked to what the other saw “strange yeah could be” he moved to help examine things “yeah we can we tell ‘Em about it once we are done with everything. I’m new to this too. Far different from sailing” he replied
He walked a bit farther in and kept an eye out for anything else that could be interesting pausing as he saw some paintings along a spot of the wall barely visible anymore “I found something over here. It’s some painting on the wall” he remarked waving the other over to show him gently touching it with curiosity. “Kinda cool that it’s still here after all this time Eh?” He asked with a look of awe and wonder upon his usual cocky smirking face. He was fascinated

"Eh its not too bad... I've met some people who make only bad jokes all the time. It's worse." They said it absent mindedly as they shifted through the sand. "Oh well... just practice. I basically live out in the icy elements so making a fire is something that saves your life."
At the mention of a painting though they stood up and shuffled over careful of the rocks and debris on the floor. The look on Flynn's face made Riggs smile a little too. They liked seeing people actually enjoy themselves. Much easier to tell when they weren't looking directly at Riggs. Their attention shifted back to the painting the edges of it seemed to be worn at the bottom and Riggs reached up to touch it only to feel that it bounced back.
"Wait... is it... is this a cabinet or a door?" They tugged at the corner and swung gently from the wall revealing another set of tiles that looked like a second painting to Riggs. "Or just... a painting... behind a painting? I don't understand."
They pressed a hand on the tile and it pressed in. A rumble and distant grinding noise started up. Riggs looked wide eyed up at Flynn and then around their surroundings. Dust did seem to shake off the ceilings and make the whole area a little less comfortable but was the grinding sound getting louder?
"Ah... oops?"

"Right then" he nodded at that a bit as he looked around with the newfound lights and such to see more of the area around them now before watching the other remove the painting, pausing as he looked at the new one behind it raising a brow with a curious look but before he could make any conclusions, his ears perked at the grinding noise, eyes widening as he looked towards the sound cursing as he heard it coming closer "We need to go. Back out now!" he grimaced and grabbed the others arms running to the entrance once again.
He didnt stop until they were outside and moved them to the side of the entrance, keeping his ears perked and staying alert. He didnt want to risk whatever it was hitting them and didnt want to leave the other to fend for themselves so he didnt let the other go until they were out of danger in his opinion staying alert to the sound waiting to hear it stop or hit something. Either way he knew for sure there were traps now which was a good thing of course. He had been checking already however it appeared he didnt see that one in time
