Aanora Hulix
Gender: female
Age: 27
Race: Moon Elf
Nationality: Charonian
Appearance: Aanora is a tall woman with dark, subtle skin. Depending on the lighting, it can appear to be a deep lavender or a bluish-black. Her black hair, inherited from her father's side, is long, straight, and well-kept. Her most striking feature -her brilliant, white eyes- seem to glow reflectively in the night, but are otherwise a stellar platinum in the day. Due to her profession and her lifestyle, Aanora maintains a strong build and a lithe frame. Dexterity is her coin and efficiency is her rate of pay, and so she must make sure she stays in peak shape.
Personality: As a natural contralto, Aanora implies she is a stoic, deadpan individual. Her limited vocal range, penchant for silence, and trained demeanor readily support these views. Any whom look deeper easily see this is a front, or a base neutrality at best. She can be quite personable, and she always enjoys interacting with others. She's never shy about sharing a smile. She'll even pitch in and help a stranger when she can. Be careful; she's no pushover and is not afraid to voice her feelings on an issue. And when push comes to shove she will take action, relying on the skills and experience she has gained to back her up.
History: Born to Aumith and Erdaka Silverlis, Aanora Silverlis was the eldest of two children. Her brother, Arlon, was born five years after, and she doted on her little sibling when he arrived. They were raised in a home dedicated to protecting their precious Eclipse City, the Silverlis line one of many with soldiers, scouts, and spies in their history. It made choosing a career path easy for the Silverlis children. Aumith made sure his family would continue serving their people.
Aanora quickly proved she was able to live up to her parent's expectations. Arlon did not fare as well, and he unfortunately equated his deficiencies with his personal value. Aanora, being a task-oriented and driven individual, did not pick up on Arlon's inner turmoils as quickly as she would have preferred. She would gladly help him when he sought her out, but otherwise continued at her own pace. A pace which soon left her brother struggling for any sort of recognition. In desperation, long after Aanora settled into her role as a Scout, Arlon joined a renowned group of spies and partook in undercover missions benefitting the Crown. In Aumith and Erdaka's mind, they succeeded.
During an excursion through uncharted territory, Aanora and her company discovered a Sun Elf outpost on the rocks. Low on supplies, medicine, and struggling to repair what they had. Injured waited for months for any kind of relief. Aanora's company decided to take a risk and approach under the cover of night, once they'd gathered substantial information on the camp. Wary, but open to help, the Sun Elves invited their Moon Elf cousins in. As the scouts learned to live off the land, they gave the soldiers alternatives to prolong their wait for supplies and medicine.
It was during this time Aanora met the incredibly curious -and obviously sheepish- Elediy Hulix. One of the younger soldiers at the outpost, he was two years older than the level-headed and confident 21 year old Silverlis. She was oblivious to his infatuation at the time, and it would take several more "chance" encounters for them to finally kick it off. It was a strange relationship at first; there were times where they both wondered if the infatuation was surface level. As they continued to interact, and even work together in some instances, they quickly realized it wasn't the case. There indeed was something between them.
Elediy's parents, Teolus and Callarta, were not excited about their son's most recent courtship. As nobles of Sol City, Teolus and Callarta were terribly traditional, and expected their son to marry a fellow Sun Elf. They chalked up Elediy's infatuation to exoticism, and were against meeting this strange woman whom stole their boy's heart. However, upon meeting the Moon Elf, their exchange was far more pleasant than planned. Common ground, paired with alcohol, lightened the intense encounter. Callarta and Aanora got along very well, and Elediy became nervous for entirely different reasons. Further interactions solidified that there was nothing to worry about.
Due to the first meeting going so well, Aanora and Elediy chanced meeting with her parents. The first encounter did not go well, and it took many family gatherings before the choppy waters settled. Erdaka was furious, and Aumith expressed his own displeasure with their romance. At first, Arlon -wanting any sort of attention from his parents- also sided with them in feigned resentment. He would have argued that it was genuine in the beginning, the first time he could recall it. But when Elediy showed an interest in meeting him too, that resentment quickly disappeared. As they interacted more, Arlon received the attention he craved from his future brother-in-law. Little Silverlis' desire to please his parents also faded away, a realization which eased pressure off the family as a whole.
Aanora and Elediy were wed two years following the fated outpost encounter. The union, while strange, brought a unique happiness to both families. With one culturally based marriage in Eclipse City and the other in Sol City, the newlyweds would not be hosting parties any time soon. They decided to stay in Sol City for the first six months of their marriage. Aanora used the time to plug into a long-established Moon Elf garrison welcomed by the city. When those six months were over, they traveled back to Eclipse city to stay and spend time with Aanora's family. Elediy helped establish a Sun Elf outpost near the city limits with approval from the Moon Elf royalty. They've continued this tradition into the present day.
Unfortunately, a year into their marriage they learned terrible news. Arlon's company was ambushed in their own camp, and all members of the group went missing. With Arlon's sudden disappearance, they first assumed it was their way of laying low and waiting until all was clear. But that mindset changed when moon elf spies suddenly reappeared, dead. One by one they were found, all except Arlon's. The gradual building of fear and concern rocked Aanora and Elediy's marriage. Luckily, they pulled through, but with no word of Arlon's status in sight, it's something that haunts Lady Hulix to this day.
