The group sat quietly, scanning the immediate area for anymore clues besides the bow Krick had dropped whilst being dragged away by the displacers. Kothar was watching the woods around them, keeping an eye out for danger lest they end up in a situation similar to what Krick was experiencing, or worse rather; no one would be coming to save them should something go awry. Huffing, the lizardfolk kept absentmindedly touching places where he had been cut by the displacer beasts' claws, the wounds having been healed up by an appreciative merchant handing out healing potions to everyone who needed one. Where the wounds had been still had a weird, slight itchy feeling to them, causing Kothar to scratch at them without really thinking.
Little-Boom-Stick approached the lizardfolk, presenting an arrow they had found once she had Kothar's attention and took him to where the group had found it laying. Nodding in confirmation, they followed the direction the bow and the arrow seemed to create, and sure enough they began to see more large feline tracks as well. Feeling like they were on the right track, the group picked up their pace a bit, trying their best to remain stealthy but at the same time trying to hurry before it was too late for Krick.
After a few more minutes had passed, they found more items discarded on the ground, another arrow or two and bits of food as well; it seemed Krick was smart enough to leave a trail for someone to follow, trusting that his fellow party members would come after him. However, this active participation of his own search had some downsides, evidenced by the owlbear munching on said food items they accidentally disturbed before anyone could point the beast out. With a screech, the creature charged the group, not dismayed in the slightest at their number.

Socket watched as the group ran headlong into an Owlbear, it would be a wonder if they made it through this day. Leaping from the branch of the tree, the construct used Bullet Dash to close the distance, intercepting the feathered beast in it's charge. Twisting with the momentum, they gracefully rolled forward beneath it's snapping beak, planted both hands into it's soft fur and fired a powerful Gust Thrust skyward. Feathers, sticks, and other debris jetted forth in a heaving puff as the Owlbear was tossed skyward. They rolled aside, took three quick steps and readied another barrage of spells.
Kothar had a knack for finding trouble it seemed to them, and this adventure was getting more hazardous by the minute. Keeping an eye on the falling creature kept most of their attention as Socket signaled to the group to make ready. A second or so later, more feathers puffed out in a swirling cloud as the earth gave way to the flesh of the owlbear with a jarring, deep thud. 'We don't have time for this right now... we need to be after Krick... what is Kothar thinking right now?' They were pondering as the dust settled. The Owlbear picked itself up, but it's movements were a bit sluggish.
They signaled for a quiet assault, knowing there was still an approach to a heavily defended den, full of intelligent creatures hell bent on making their friend a revenge snack...
