Post by Lady Kamille Verlithax on Dec 7, 2022 7:56:53 GMT -5
The man was shaking from head to toe, still flinching at the slightest sudden movement while seated at the Witch's crowded kitchen. Which was unfortunate, because the new resident in Kamille's house was a kitten - maybe an oversized one, her paw the size of his hand already and chubby body the size of an adult house dog. She still behaved like a kitten, trying to fit inside the man's bag left at the ground, and everytime she jumped, the man jumped and shifted on his chair as well.
Kamille was patient. In between his shaking and shivering, she tried to clean the gash on his arm, some dirty bandages already to her side drenched in pus.
"There was a druid's house closer to where you were."
"I... I got lost..."
"You got very lost... All the way to Lantern's Light Woods to here..."
The Witch usually wasn’t this suspicious, but after recent events, there was another layer of self preservation to some of her behavior. Aside from that, the man did look like someone who got attacked by giant spiders and got lost in the woods for a couple nights before happening at her house. Mud and Most curious people would go to the beautiful fluorescent forest to witness the bioluminiscent plants and flowers that grew that - and some also found, the worst way possible, there was a nest of giant spiders around those woods too.
"I was.... I was trying to get a flower...."
Kamille sighed. Of course he was. The man took out a flower from his pocket, all mashed up but still emanating a faint, redish light.
"....this was the only pink one. Mia loves pink...."
"That’s orange, actually, but I would forg- WAIT! Where did you get this again?!"
The poor man looked startled when the Witch's eyes suddenly widened at the flower. Before even finishing caring for his wounds, she got up agitated and left the kitchen to the library, coming back to a surprised man, waving a piece of scroll in front of him.
"Did this flower look like this?!"
It was curious how this man had no clue of the value of the flower he held in his hand, so eager as he was to impress Mia with the most beautiful flower he saw. Kamille, on the other side, had been periodically scouring the forest for the Lantern's Light for its properties: it was known the flower had strong, purifying properties, but some treatises has extensively ranted on the possibility of a certain substance being extracted from it, maybe - maybe - with alluring effects.
It would certainly fit in the formula of a perfume, she wondered.
But, if the man's direction was right, the flower was growing next to the spiders nest, which made Kamille shiver. The thought made re-think her whole life up to that point.
Spiders.
No way in hell she was going there alone.
After treating her guest and sending him off with a loaf of bread and some cheese - she hoped Mia would recognize the man's effort, Kamille definitely would - the Witch started to pace around her living room, impatient. Kamille wasn’t much of a planner, so without even noticing what her hands were doing, she packed a bag and threw her cloak over her shoulders.
"CAWWW! Where?!"
Kamille looked over to Mischief, who just landed on her shoulder.
"We're off to do something stupid, Mischief. You'll hate it."
With heavy, unwilling feet, she hesitantly dragged herself out of her house. As it always happened, however, the journey there was always unexpected and, in this case, pleasantly so. Dreading the time she would have to find her way around the spiders nest, she took her eyes out of her dragging feet and spotted something that brought a wide smile to her face, lighting up her expression and her feet as well.
It was Beist's wagon! Certainly Beist would take an interest in looking for it with her! Kamille sprinted towards his wagon, taking out the scroll with the description of the flower and its properties, ready for her sales pitch to have Beist join her into the spiders nest.
"Beeeist! Oh, Beist! You're gonna love this! You-!"
Right before the window of his wagon, at the height of her excitement in seeing Beist was around, she tripped on her own feet and painfully fell on her butt while at the same time colliding with the side of his wagon.

Beist sat in his wagon at his desk, grinding dried herbs into powders and mixing them into medicines and salves. He had grown better at multitasking with the use of his second pair of arms. With two hands preoccupied with a pestle and mortar, the other two slowly poured a green, oily liquid into a bowl with some jelly-like substance in it, mixing and folding it together to incorporate it all together. The herbs in the mortar were powdered quickly by the monstrous strength of the beast man and tipped into a glass jar. The finished green gel was transferred from the mixing bowl into several short, wide jars that would allow it to be easily scooped out by hand and applied as an ointment.
With his work finished, Beist let out a contented sigh and smiled. He stood up and placed the jar of powder on his shelf, a wooden bar across it to make sure none of the shelf's contents fell off from the shaking of the moving wagon. He placed the jars of ointment in a drawer, except for one which he added to a bag that he usually kept on his waist. The ointment was great for treating minor wounds. It wasn't as quick an effect as an actual health potion, but it was also far cheaper to make and so more affordable for most people.
"I'm finished! We can play now!" Beist said happily to a large, fluffy bumblebee and a brown raccoon-dog that had been watching him work from atop the counter behind him. The bee let out a happy buzz and flew over to land on his right shoulder while the raccoon dog let out a happy chitter and climbed onto his left shoulder. With the pair of critters aboard, Beist walked out of the back of his wagon just in time to hear a familiar voice shouting his name followed by several thuds. He walked around the wagon to see Kamille on the ground.
"Ah, Kamille! Are you alright? What happened?" he asked with genuine concern as he walked over and offered a hand to help her back onto her feet. The bumblebee and raccoon-dog stared at Kamille curiously from atop Beist's shoulders.

Despite the painful fall, Kamille held her scroll high above her head as to avoid dirtying it with mud. As Beist helped lift her up from the ground, she looked a bit dishoriented still. She rose slowly, still gripping tightly the scroll, but first her eyes wandered to both of Beist's companions, enough to make her forget her pain for a while. Kamille looked particularly interested in the bumblebee.
"Oh my! Where did you find this cutie, Beist? I mean... Wait... Before that........ Look at this!!!!! Do you recognize it?!"
Kamille barely put her two feet solidly on the ground and she was already sticking a piece of paper in front of Beist. It was a drawing - with its main characteristics, portions and properties - of a rare flower that was known to be found around the Lantern's Light Woods. Supposedly.
"There was this man in my house that got attacked by spiders. He had one of those, said he found it near the nest. Have you heard of this? Would you have an interest in it? You know, I heard the Golden Consortium is after a few rare specimens like this one... I heard they claim it to be one of the components of the Panacea, a cure for all poisons."
It was very clear that she wanted to go look for it. The fact she could share that adventure with Beist would make for a much, much more pleasant endeavour. Beist had already helped her before with some trouble with bandits, and they managed to get along quite well. She knew he was also an alchemist and would possibly share her interest and excitement in finding a rare herb.
The whole time, Mischief remained perched up the Witch's shoulder. Beist would probably be aware by now the raven took a little longer to get used to other animals, even if with people in general he felt comfortable enough right away. He would stare at the bumblebee and the raccoon-dog in an unusual, focused silence.
"What do you say? Do you think its worth it we give it a try?"

Beist smiled, relieved the Kamille seemed unhurt from how energetic she was, immediately launching into her rapid fire speech. Beist could hardly get a word in as she spoke, obviously very excited about this. The raccoon dog on his shoulder leaned forward curiously, staring at Mischief. The bumblebee waved a little leg in a friendly greeting.
"Ah, I-" Beist began to explain where he had found the bee, but was cut off. He leaned far down to take a closer look at the scroll, a hand coming up to stroke his fluffy beard as he read the writing. "I don't-" he was cut off again as she launched into an explanation of where she had gotten the idea for an excursion to go find this flower. It sounded a bit dangerous, being near a giant spider nest, but quite tempting. Beist was very interested in this plant and wanted to join the Golden Consortium. He wondered if they'd allow him in considering his appearance, but they were apparently an accepting group so long as you were skilled in alchemy. It seemed worth a shot.
"Yes, I think it's quite worth it! I'd love to join you!" Beist answered happily, standing back up straight again, but his attention was immediately taken away by a tapping on either side of his face. The bee and Raccoon dog were both tapping repeatedly on his furry cheeks.
"Ah, these little fellows are Ned the Big Bee and Awd the Raccoon Dog. I'm sorry I had just promised to play with them before you arrived." he said to Kamille apologetically as he motioned to the big bee and the raccoon dog in turn. "We can play later, I promise. I really want to find this flower..." he continued, looking at the two pets.
Ned buzzed and Awd chittered at him. "Oh, but it will be dangerous. There's giant spiders, you know! You should stay here with Dora." Beist answered, but they looked at him with such adorable faces that his resolve immediately crumbled. "Oh, alright. you can come! But you have to stay close to me. I don't want you getting hurt..." he sighed.
Ned and Awd raised their front legs in celebration before climbing into the front of Beist's robe, their little heads peaking out of the neck hole. The bee's expression was unreadable, but the raccoon dog clearly had a big smile on his face. Both of them seemed very pleased to be joining the adventure.

Beist's connection to the animals was something that, surprisingly, Kamille understood. Most would not take the Witch of Moonglade as an animals lover, thinking Mischief was some kind of special spirit that served as her familiar. But now it was clear that was not the case, as more and more started to show up at her house. She could understand that part of Beist, and seeing the affectionate way he treated them only made a gentle smile curve her lips. Beist was one gentle giant whose company she would always cherish.
"I'm sorry for disrupting your plans, Beist... But soon enough we will be back home and all of you will be able to play as much as you want!"
She would be lying if she said she didn't want to stay a little while with Big Bee and Awd too, but she wouldn't interject herself in Beist's life and routine. Instead, she rolled back her scroll as Beist said he was going to take both in this small incursion. Kamille often would not worry about Mischief going with her in any of her quests: Mischief was annoyingly smart, could fly and more than once had helped her get out of trouble. Mischief could handle himself pretty well. She just hoped Beist knew what he was doing as he took both the bumblebee and the raccoon dog with him.
"I can lead the way. I guess I got a pretty good idea of the area of the forest this man found the flower... Whenever we get closer to the nest, I'll warn you. Why don't you tell me how you met these two on our way?"
Kamille was ready to go, seemingly eager now to follow along. If she thought too much about what she was about to do, she probably would lose her courage. Despite being very open minded about most animals, beasts and monsters, spiders were...........
...unsettling.

"Oh, I don't know if the stories will take quite so long to tell, but I'd be happy to tell them on the way! Just a moment."
Beist walked around to the back of the wagon and entered. The sounds of glass bottles tinking against each other and wooden drawers opening and closing could be heard from inside. After a few moments, he emerged again with a bag at his side, the strap over his shoulder.
"Just grabbing some supplies we might need. Dora, I'll be back in a while. Watch the wagon for me while I'm gone." He called out to the huge griffin that was lying in a patch of sunlight nearby. With preparations complete, Beist walked next to Kamille, off toward their goal. His walking stick tapped against the ground as he went.
"Now, let me see. Yes, Ned here was found in an alchemy shop in Sol City. He was being sold off as a source of honey, like some kind of, of... honey bottle! Treated him horribly. Barely fed him and expected him to make endless honey! Awful! I'm not ashamed to say I was quite upset to see it. I had to take him away from there. Eh, I may be banned from that store now though, but who would want to do business with someone so awful anyways? Ever since then, Ned has been traveling with me. He's such a sweetheart, how could anyone treat him so poorly?" he told, gesticulating wildly with his giant hands as he spoke, showing his anger at the situation he was recalling.
When Beist finished telling the story, Ned buzzed from the front of Beist's robe and Beist nodded as if he was agreeing with what the big bee had just said.
"Yes, and the inside of that shop smelled awful! I checked to make sure he didn't have any more animals in the back, but thankfully he didn't. I might have broken more than his face."
"Buzz"
"Wait, really? I'm pretty sure he was still moving when we left."
"Buzzz"
"I didn't punch him that hard!"
"Buzz."
"Ah. Well. Let's keep that to ourselves."
Beist cleared his throat and offered a slightly forced smile to Kamille.
"A-anyways, how I found Awd! Yes!" Beist changed the subject with a nervous laugh.

Kamille waited patiently for Beist to get ready to depart - she was already much more excited with that quest than she had been as soon as she left her home! To have someone like Beist by her side would be enough to make her shake away the shivers the spiders usually gave her....
As the trek begun, Kamille kept a gentle pace, even though for every step Beist took, it was two of hers. She knew those forests well enough - and she also knew where the spiders nests were supposed to be, even if she never have dwelled into it. She never had a good reason to do so.
As Beist told the story, Kamille couldn't help but chuckle softly, remembering their first adventure together, when they met right there at Moonglade. Beist had also accidentally cause much more damage than he intended to, and it made her wonder what kind of damage he was capable of doing if he really wanted to. That person at the alchemy shop clearly got the short end of the stick by getting the gentle giant's attention in such a negative way.
Kamille also noticed how he seemed to keep a whole conversation with the bee, which made her smile tenderly. Maybe this kind of ability might be useful to her, she wondered. Mischief was able to talk, but the panther wasn't.
"I'm sure he deserved it, and I'm sure it wasn't your intention to hurt him badly... And I'm sure you won't need anything from his alchemy shop once we join the Golden Consortium, you know?"
It was still mid afternoon, but the thicker parts of the forest were already showing some of its luminiscence that made for it so famous. The sunlight still made the flora's faint glow poorly visible, but in no time that place would be as beautiful as the star-speckled sky. The trail Kamille followed was desert. Strangely, that place should be filled with the singing of birds and noises of the other animals..... but it was too quiet.
Kamille was starting to look unsettled, following a bit slower. They still weren't close to the nest, but still....
"So... How did you found Awd?"

"Oh, Awd's story is much shorter. The little troublemaker snuck into my wagon and tried to steal some of my belongings one night, but I caught him. After that, I offered to let him stay with me. He was so adorable and just wanted some food! And he's travelled with me ever since."
Beist gently rubbed the top of Awd's head with a finger and the little raccoon dog nestled into it happily, reaching their paws up to grab at his finger.
"Ned and Awd get along very well. Both big music lovers. You should see one of their performances some time. They're so talented!" Beist gushed over the two like a proud grandparent amazed by their grandchildren accomplishing the most mundane things.
As they walked deeper into the woods, the foliage overhead grew denser and the bioluminescent plants glowed brighter. Beist reached his arms up to bend tree branches out of his way and ducked down, his huge height making traversing the trees a bit more difficult for him than most.
"Kamille, isn't the spider's territory supposed to be farther from here? Why is it so quiet?" Beist asked as he noticed how eerily devoid of any sounds of life their surroundings were. He bent down low, bringing his head out of the tree branches and closer to Kamille.
Unnoticed by the giant beast man, an unusually large spider sat on top of his head.

Beist sounded like a proud grandfather, and Kamille couldn’t help but smile widely as he recounted the stories. She wasn’t so sure how that happened, but she found herself wondering, and an absolute certainty came to her: she would go to extreme lengths to keep his friendship and safety.
Though, if she was to be honest, wandering into what could possibly be a spiders nest wasn’t the most safe thing to do....
"Well... there's still a long way until the spiders nest, yes....."
And just as she finished the thought, it was immediately put to test: she turned to face Beist and stopped abruptly on her tracks, her smile faded in a split second, her eyes widened and she took a careful step back.
"B-Beist... on... on your.... head....."
The Witch gestured slowly to Beist, clearly hanging from a very thin line of self restraint, fighting against the urge to set the spider on fire. She really didn’t want to set Beist's head on fire too.
Her restraint was short lived, because just as she stepped back once more, she felt a chill running down her spine as a very light weight gently laid on her head. With the corner of her eyes, she saw a few, thin legs brushing against her cloak and the side of her face. As if time slowed, Beist could clearly see the look of terror in her face, her breathing in deeply...
"AAAaAAAaaaHhhHhHH!"
The screeching wail of a banshee traveled far across the silent forest, probably enough to make Beist's ears ring. But more than that, for an instant, the gentle shadows that lurked were pushed back violently by a giant fire: Kamille's whole body was enveloped in flames for a moment, and though it lasted only a few seconds and didn’t seem to hurt her, the sudden burst of light and heat was enough to make his eyes hurt, and the spider plop away from her.
As the air stopped vibrating from her screaming and her heavy breath calmed down slightly, another sound became clear. Some soft chittering, clacking of small fangs, growing slowly in a sinister crescendo. Amidst the leaves and branches, an enormous amount of eyes started to pop out into the open, followed by their fangs and long legs. The whole was infested with spiders, all coming out of their hiding, atracted by the sudden burst of light.
"Beist.....?"

Beist was confused by Kamille's panicked look. On his head? He started to reach a hand up, but stopped when a spider descended down on a string of web right overtop of Kamille. Beist's eyes widened and he realized what must be on his head, but he had no time to deal with that. He could see Kamille's panic intensify and guessed what was about to happen wouldn't be good for anyone too close to the destructive witch.
He quickly grabbed the spider from on top of his and Kamille's heads and turned away from her, hugging Ned and Awd protectively against his front to shield them from the flames and tossing the two spiders as gently as he could into the bushes nearby. Even if they were a bit unsettling looking, Beist just couldn't let the little critters be barbequed like that. He had a soft spot for animals, even these spiders. They weren't evil, just misunderstood and maybe a bit more leggy than most people liked.
With Kamille's fiery panic attack over, Beist looked to see if she was alright while hurriedly patting out the flames on his backside. He grasped his hand around the fluffy tip of his tail and smothered the flame with a sizzle. He heard the sounds of the spiders clicking their mandibles all around them as they crawled out of bushes and hung from tree branches. Beist put a hand on Kamille's shoulder and spoke gently.
"Kamille, calm down, everything's alright! Breathe. Breathe. It's alright." Beist tried his best to comfort Kamille and calm her down before turning and calling out to the gathering arachnids. "Wait! We mean you no harm, we just came here to find some flowers! We didn't expect you to be here. What are you all doing so far from home?"
The clicking of the spiders continued and Beist listened with a hand stroking his beard.
"A giant frog...?" Beist mumbled under his breath. The spiders moved their nest because it was attacked by a giant frog?

Oh..... by..... Ginma..... Beist was talking to the spiders........ why would someone talk to spiders? Kamille clearly had something against the creatures, and it didn’t take a big one to scare her much. After she was knocked unconscious by a swarm of venomous spiders in the bog, everytime she saw one, her skin started to crawl, as if she was back at the swamp. Kamille would have to deal with it somehow, sometime soon - she couldn’t take the luxury of being afraid of spiders living so close to a nest of giant ones! What a thought!
Beist did his best to calm her down, but perhaps what had her slow down the most was seeing how calm the giant beast man was. With several deep breaths, she looked fascinated as Beist talked to the spiders and they answered, even if her shoulders still didn’t relax. In her time at Moonglade, she had previously thought about learning a thing or two from the druids that lived there, but now, with Beist handling the situation so well, she convinced herself of it.
Eventually, she seemed to calm down enough to start to understand what was going on. It took her a moment to register it.
".....a giant frog? Well....... that would explain.......... If.... do you think the....... the spiders might help us with finding the flowers....... if we handle the giant frog?"
And by "handle it", Beist knew exactly what Kamille meant. By this point, it was a miracle the forest wasn’t a pile of ashes due to Kamille's magic, but so far she had been careful enough to avoid it. Which wasn’t to say she wasn’t trying.......
"We can handle a giant frog, yes....."

Beist kept an eye on Kamille as she took some deep breathes, listening as the spiders continued their chittering, or to the beast man, their explanation of the situation. While it was true they had descended upon the two travelers, it had been more out of caution than outright hostility. This was a new area for the spiders and they took any intruders as a threat. But, with Beist able to speak with them, peaceful conversation was preferrable to being burned alive by the witch or crushed by a giant. They were fairly clever as far as wild animals were concerned.
"Yes, we can deal with the giant frog for you if you'd help us find the flowers we came here for." Beist translated for Kamille since the spiders couldn't understand her.
After a short deliberation between the arachnids, Beist translated for them to Kamille.
"They agree. They'll show us to where the frog is."
One of the spiders emerged from the bush and approached them. Beist leaned down and reached out a hand to pick it up.
"Look, aren't they cute? They can fit in my hand!" Beist tried to comfort Kamille as he placed the envoy on his shoulder, forgetting that his hands were several times larger than the average person's and that his idea of cute might be a bit skewed in comparison to Kamille's.

They had.... so many.... legs.......
Kamille had always taken care to not breach the spiders territory while wandering through the forest, knowing of how protective they were. Beist's approach was much more diplomatic, and even though she always had a way of handling animals and beasts, she had never thought of applying diplomacy to these situations as well... Maybe this mission with Beist would inspire her to learn a thing or two with the druids so close to home. Kamille tried to flash a smile towards him and the giant spider on his hand, but was not successfull, as a chill ran up her spine. So... many... legs... " S-sure..... cute........" And, well... Handling a giant frog seemed better than handling a thousand giant spiders, she wondered. Frogs were often slimy, but she could handle slimy. Kamille wondered if the frog had some kind of anti-venom property that would protect it from the spiders poison, and if she would get to study it afterwards....... But of course, she was already counting on the possibility that they could solve it with violence - after all, she had found few problems so far that couldn't be resolved with fireballs. Unless Beist would want to chat with the frog as well... Mischief, that had been extremely quiet so far - mainly because the raven had flown off during their walk, arrived from between the trees. " CAWWW! DANGER!" The raven probably was able to spot the frog... or at least she hoped it was just the frog. As they were led by the spider on the beastman's shoulder, he could see Kamille was keeping a slightly bigger distance, shoting a few nervous glances to it. " So... Uhm... Can you ask them if this spider just appeared out of nowhere? Maybe we can learn more about it before we get closer... I assume it must be immune to the spiders poison, or else they would've handled it easily..."

Beist could see Kamille's discomfort with the spider and tried his best to keep it at a far enough distance from her on his shoulder. Ned also seemed a bit uncomfortable with the spider, perhaps a natural instinct as an insect, but Beist comforted him by petting him as they walked along. He didn't think petting Kamille would help, though, or be appropriate. The thought of letting Kamille hold Ned or Awd for comfort crossed his mind, but he feared for their safety so close to the pyromancer who had already burst into flame once so far.
"Yes, that's a good idea." Beist nodded to Kamille before looking to the spider guide. "Tell us as much as you can about this frog. It might help us deal with it." The spider clicked and chittered in response, and Beist listened, nodding along to the unintelligible conversation.
"They said their bites didn't affect it, but they felt like they were the ones being poisoned just from touching it. It must have toxic skin, oh dear. And its tongue can reach very far and it can climb trees like the spiders can. It can also jump very high and far." Beist translated for Kamille.
From what the spider said, Beist guessed this frog must be immune to the spider's venom, and it had toxic secretions of its own. The rest of the information just sounded like a big frog. He wondered if this frog would be open to a conversation, but judging from how hostile it was toward the spider nest, it may not be.
Soon, the trees started to have gigantic webs strung up between them, and their arachnid guide let Beist know that they had entered their old home. The giant frog should be close. It had stuck around to feast on the captured prey that was still in the sider's webs.
"It should be close now. We are in the spider's nest." Beist whispered to Kamille.

The spiders webs hang from the tree tops and blocked the faint light the sun still provided, while most of the luminescent flora that grew on that part of the forest also was slightly dimmed by it. Their steps were also muffled by a thin layer of spiders webs that laid on the ground, thicker points running towards the trees nearby. A few points gathered close to the trees, both on the ground and on the treetops, where the webs seemed to have been tore away - Kamille wondered if the frog was maybe feeding on the spiders eggs? That might explain why it was immune to it, and how it thrived on that part of the forest until it reached its supposed giant proportions.
With Mischief on her shoulder, Kamille pressed on beside Beist. Yes, she thought it must be no ordinary giant frog that would be able to make a whole nest of spiders relocate. On one hand, she found it was much easier to deal with just one big frog than with a lot of giant spiders - and more than that, now she was also curious as to what kind of substances she could extract from it. Maybe she could study its body? Maybe she could figure out what kind of enzyme made it immune to the spiders poison?
Her thoughts were led away from that line when she started to spot the webs, at which point she got real quiet, trying extra hard to make as little noise as possible. What they knew so far of this frog didn't seem good. Toxic skin, long tongue, high jumps... They might consider some strategy on this one. Climb trees? Looked.... Looked like trouble.
"Beist... Maybe... Maybe we should try to plan something... Remember when we faced those bandits on the mushroom forest?"
They managed the situation well enough. Kamille provided one hell of a distraction, while Beist went in to rescue the druid they were after - maybe they should try the same? The Witch opened her mouth to continue, but whatever it was she wanted to say was cut by a loud, grave.... croak. She stopped on her tracks. As the sound reverberated on the trees and webs around them, it was hard to pinpoint its exact location. But the opposite realization always hit her, as usual: it probably knew where they were. Neither Kamille nor Beist were stealthy ones.
"Beist, I'm gonna g-AAAAaaAaAaAAHHHHHHH"
An uncomfortable, wet and slap noise from between the trees ahead was followed by Kamille's screech. Whatever it was that she was gonna do, it certainly didn't involve faceplanting with a soft thud and screaming her head off. Kamille was being dragged away as she did it, a pinkish, slimy tongue sticked to her foot as she fumbled around trying to avoid being pulled. While they still could not perceive where exactly the frog came from, it used its tongue to grab the smaller of them - in that case, Kamille.
And by the ease it pulled on the Witch, its full size still hidden behind the trees, it was probably huge. Kamille managed to grab the root of a tree in her fumbling as to avoid being dragged to the complete darkness behind the trees.
"BEEEEEEEEEIST! BEIST! DO SOMETHING!"
