As Shaa stares down the remaining statue, Mubashir materializes out of thin air, running up the spear shaft and onto the shoulders of the statue. No, wait. Not out of thin air, out of a mist. Disappears into mist, lives in a sarcophagus…or in other words …A COFFIN! As realization dawns on Shaa he suddenly feels like a giant idiot. The guy might as well have been wearing a cape and gone around saying blah blah blah. Strangely however, Shaa actually feels better knowing what Mubashir actually is. He actually knew some pretty cool vampires and he understood why Mubs probably didn’t want to announce it.. for fear of immediately being slammed back in the box or stabbed with a stick or something.
As Shaa watched Mubsahire attack the statue, he seemed to be struggling a bit. Woahh this one breathes fire?! Man these lizard guys have way way too much time on their hands. Maybe if they had spent more time on earthquake prevention, they would still be here. Haha classic. As Shaa continues to watch, he decides that he should probably lend a hand. He runs towards the statues feet. Then he does a one two punch on a stone ankle, breaking off a large chunk. As he does so, the wrappings around his arms snake out and wrap around the rest of the giant’s ankles. Running back out a bit, Shaa jumps up and down to get the statues attention.
As the statue turns to look, it’s wrapped ankles buckle and get caught on the wrapping causing it to fall over awkwardly and crash into the stairs. Shaa runs over to retrieve his wraps, kicking away some of the statues detritus. He looks at Mubashir. You ok man? I mean, from the fall and being undead and all..

The statue crashed into the stairs moments after he regained his bearings. Ah, well... job well done! The minotaur man offered some words of worry.
"Ah yess, I am fine Sshaa. I ssupposse I'll live." He paused a moment to allow Shaa to get the joke, staring at him with an open mouth smile that showed off his fangs. He had worked on that joke for three hundred and twenty years, one could only hope that it had landed. "Anywayss, onwardss and upwardss I ssupposse. After you, Sshaa." He bowed, his hands offering the path up the stairs to the large minotaur. They ascended the golden steps, several stories high leading towards the top of the temple. Out of a sense of needing to do something, Mubashir used his found torch to light a brazier that they passed on the stairway, lighting the cavern with the soft glow of firelight. The view was impressive, sparks lit as the flame traveled from one brazier to another via intricate carve works all lined with a flammable substance. The substance even seemed to go under the surface of the temple exterior, giving all the carving emblazoned on the temple walls a subtle red glow from underneath.
"Impresssive, even I had not sseen this feat in the time I had been pressent. Truly a remarkable relic."

Shaa watched in awe as the temple blazed to life under the impressive fire show. Wow I don’t think I have ever seen anything like that before. After thinking about it a moment. Well let the researchers figure out how to turn it off again.
As the two continued further into the temple, Shaa noted several small rooms and passages that the real researchers could come back and look at later. With everything that they were seeing, they were going to be doing research for years. Good on them. Shaa was just about done with the place.
As they got towards the back, they find a door with all sorts of arcane runes carved to the wood. Shaa could not read or even recognize any of the writing. What do you think? He asks Mubs. Maybe we should knock?
Shaa reaches out and pushes hard on the door. It slowly swings open in towards the room ahead. As it does, a musty odor breathes into the corridor. Fully open, Shaa walks in and looks around. In the room is perhaps one of the largest libraries that he has ever seen. Row after row of books line the walls that seem to stretch on and on.
Shaa is so impressed that he almost doesn’t notice yet another sarcophagus on display in the center of the room. Shaa looks at Mubs. Friend of yours?

The library inside was truly impressive. Row after row of dusty old tomes lined the atrium with the lost knowledge of centuries. The sarcophagus in the center certainly raised the hairs on the back of Mubashir's neck, but he wouldn't allow fear to deter him now. "Can't ssay he iss" He ran his fingers along the books nearby, pausing to take one off the shelf that seemed to have a neat cover. Nothing was written on the outside, and opening it revealed little other than page after page of the same repeating two symbols. Lizardmen script surely couldn't be so simple, He certainly could not decipher the pattern in the two symbols and picking up another tome revealed the same. The only hint that something was amiss was a small embossed sigil of the God King on the back, raised lettering framed by an intricate gold ink. Mubashir approached the coffin, more out of boredom than any sense of discover. The outside had the carvings representing who supposedly was inside, An albino lizardman adorned in several golden trinkets, and holding a book with the same sigil on its cover. He pushed the coffins lid, it sliding of the surprising ease. Instead of falling to the floor with a clatter, it simply levitated on the opposite side. "Huh, not sso much of a god after all. Look Sshaa, all bones". And so it was, a similar body as the cover of the coffin lay inside, encased in gold jewels and armour. A sigil around the skeletons neck glowed a soft red, and Mubashir leaned closer to investigate. Tlahtoamatl Ipan, Tlahtolchimalli Kiak He whipped around, seeing books floating around the sarcophagus, flipping rapidly through pages of the two symbols in indecipherable patterns. One tome floated above the tomb, open to two blank pages. Words slowly materialized on the pages, the voice seemingly vibrating from its metal bindings and reciting them aloud. Identify yourself before the god king"Hey, uh...Sshaa. I think I would like to ssee the ssurface once more"

Yup, at this point, Shaa was officially out of his depth. He had mapped out enough at this point to satisfy researchers and cartographers for years. Now there were dead lizard deities making books fly and asking for ID. Shaa quietly whispered to the flying book. Nobody….
Shaa motions to Mubs to beat feet out of the library and out of the temple. I am not sure what’s going on in there but I do not want to find out what happens if he doesn’t like our answers. The two bolt out of the room without looking backThe two started down the steps. As the started to pass the broken statues, the spear statue started to shift. Shaa grunts at it angrily. No you don’t! He grabs one of the large rock and starts to pummel the statue repeatedly upside the head until it stops moving. Shaa breathes hard as the pieces of the statue fall by the way side. Ok…seriously let’s get out of here.
Shaa leads the way back to the entrance. Ok Mubs. Don’t forget our deal. You seem to be a pretty cool guy. As long as you stay that way, we can be friends. If I find out that you went out to start eating villagers or something, you will wish I left you in the box. But…best of luck to you. Shaa extends a firm but friendly handshake. Only the future could say for sure if it was the right decision.
