NARSHA GRA-GRUTZOG
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Race: Orc
Nationality: Marshflats
Age: 18
Race: Orc
Nationality: Marshflats
APPEARANCE
Striking an imposing figure despite her otherwise smaller build compared to most males of her species, Narsha is still quite the sight to behold. Her hair, long and dark, the shade of soot is usually worn free. Her ears are pointed, as with all orcs, and she wears a large pair of bone carved earrings with hoops on both ears, which adds quite a fair bit to the imposing and intimidating factor. The two tusks that are represented in all orcs are also visibly smaller than that of male orcs but still as prominent. Her lips are a dark shade of plum, and her skin tone a swampy green that is not uncommon of the orcs of the Bloodmoon clan. Her build is strong and muscular, while still possessing a healthy amount of feminine curves that is often quite prominent to all as like the orcs of the Bloodmoon clan, they are unsurprisingly tribal. She usually wears little more than a simple crudely fashioned-dress made out of leather, fur, cloth and several metal plates. On her feet, leather sandals are worn, also tribally fashioned.
She isn't against adding on more pieces of metal armour for extra protection, although it is unlikely that she will ever wear more than just a few pieces of metal armour, for it is just not the way of orcs or the Bloodmoon clan. She does not tend to favour wearing much clothing or armour at all, like many of the different races living in the Marshflats where fashion does not exist in the typical sense, unlike other places of Charon. Modesty has never been an issue, and will likely never be a big issue for her, although she respects the views of others in keeping her naughty bits more or less hidden. She stands at six foot and six inches (6'6"/1.98 metres), and weighs around two hundred and ninety pounds (290lbs/132kg)
PERSONALITY
Highly passionate about what she believes and interested in and armed with a fighting spirit, Narsha has a whole lot of spunk and is as feisty as they say. Extremely brave with a determined mind and a never-say-die attitude, she can be loud when she needs to be, and equally fierce when the occasion calls for her to stand up for herself or others she cares about. She is willing to risk more for the things she finds important to her, and for those that she is passionate about. Like most orcs, she isn’t one to hide in a corner and hope things go her way, she is assertive and makes her opinions known. She gets the job done, even if she has to do so on her own. She relishes challenges of all types no matter the size and is known to have a competitive streak. What most would discover is that the orc is actually rather crude.
Be it letting loose a string of insults and vulgarities to terms and actions of affection, she is equally unfazed. Most would find that she is generally not the sort to break the ice or initiate conversations, but warm up her and you’ll find that she’s more like an old engine that needs warming up. She is known to be blunt and incredibly straightforward, not sugarcoating whatever she wants to say. Narsha also gets possessive of the things she loves. She tends to get upset when things don’t go her way, and often openly expresses her displeasure. Highly adaptable, it doesn'ttake her long to get used to new environments. Incredibly free-spirited, she loves pursuing activities common in orcish culture such as fighting, eating, drinking and activities of a far more intimate nature.
BACKSTORY
Born to Warchief Grutzog gro-Grutnog of the Bloodmoon Clan, Narsha gra-Grutzog did not begin her life easy. As a newborn, she was sickly and frail, and as per clan tradition, she was almost drowned by her father. However, he changed his mind at the last second and raised his child to the sky and proclaimed the child as his, through himself and his father, presenting the baby for the clan’s blessings. The Elder Shaman Guzrog asked for the blessings of the wild spirits and hoped that the ancestors would watch over the newborn, for the sickly child was in dire need of it.
Guzrog had told her father that without the blessings and guidance of the spirits and her ancestors, it was unlikely that she would live past four. She would eventually prove everyone except her father wrong (who had always believed in her when nobody did) when she shook off what sickness that plagued her as a newborn and grew up as healthy and strong as any other orc child in the clan. Orcs began weapons training at age 6, when they are nearly the size of an adult human. When they reach 12 years of age, they are considered strong enough to fight and are now allowed to join in hunting parties. At 14 years of age, they begin to undergo the hunt and rites of adulthood, making them no longer children once they have successfully completed all of the rites. As she grew older, Narsha also became stronger and fitter than ever before, a blatant defiance of the words given by the clan’s elder shaman back then that she would not live past four. More than a couple of male orcs had looked at her in admiration, while other females looked on in envy of her growth. The long road Narsha has been on since her birth was no secret to the clan and her story impressed many. Soon enough, the time for the courting hunt began.
All the young orcs, both male and female, would go out in search of a trophy worthy to present to their ideal mates. An orc’s first mate is incredibly important and the bond between them becomes as thick as blooded kin once they have mated, therefore this was no simple trivial matter. The hunt could go on for weeks, but as most orcs only take one partner for their first mate, the younger ones were at a disadvantage as the older ones would be the first to set up and therefore had the highest chances of returning first to appeal to those they favoured. Unfortunately for Narsha, her clan’s brood was heavy on females, which meant that the chances of many of them not succeeding was high.
When she and several of the other younger orcs returned, they were crestfallen to learn that the hunt was often as all the young males had been picked and she and the rest would have to wait for the next year to come around before they would have another chance as the other group of younger males aged up to be ready for the courting hunt. Angry and frustrated by everything, driven by impulse, Narsha grabbed her weapon along with some meagre personal belongings in a sack slung onto her shoulder and left home one early morning while most of the clan was still asleep. She left a simple message for her family, telling them that she was going out to explore the world, and that she might return in time before the next courting hunt. Life at home in the clan was bitter and undesirable right now, and she hoped that with time away in the world, she would begin to feel better.
