Part 1 - Discovery
It was a rainy day in the small in. Sarris say by a warm fire drinking a glass of warmed cider and looking at a strange book she had found. Parts of the book were written in Old Elvish which she could read, well, somewhat read as languages change, the other part she could not make out. The letters moved and danced on the page in her brain and it was a large mess.
One of the things that caught her fancy was something called a Sol Stone. It was an item of some renown and and there were many of them spread around the world. King Taranath, an Elf of some renown, was in possession of one of these stones when he sat on the throne in Kingswood Castle. The stone was said to possess some mystical type powers and abilities, but none were able to unlock its secrets.
Sarris love collecting secrets and this seemed like the perfect time for an adventure while Young Lord Sarne was recruiting for the next class of Vanguard knights.
In the book there was a set of runic letters or words which she could not decider. She was going to need help if she planned on finding this Sol Stone and unlocking it’s secrets.

Edward sits on the opposite side to Sarris, studying his family’s map of the Kingswood. A brown leather bound tome lays open next to the map, with several sentences being underlined by Edward. The tome holds some of the Ardent Family’s best kept secret although Edward doesn’t care if his companion takes a look at it. He looks back and forth between the map and the tome as he reads about the secret paths leading to the ruins that he thinks where the Sol Stone lies. According to the texts, these ruins were the castle of a legendary king who lead the noble families of the Kingswood when they were still relevant.
Edward marks the map to show where the ruins are and how to get to it and moves it around for Sarris to see. “Here you go, I believe these ruins are where the Sol Stone is at. And I charted a relative safe passage to get there. Although I heard from my father that this area is where cultists of devils and practitioners of dark magic like to roam.”

Javal had ended up in Kings Valley after he guarded a noble's caravan that got attack from bandits and protected them the rest of the way making sure that no other bandits or problems where had. He then traveled to Kingswood after making the acquaintance of a half-elf named Sarris and a Human named Edward at a local tavern. Javal had heard of the Sol Stone before the head of the Second Ship Shava would tell him about the myths and stories of it and his Captain would talk about all the many pirates he knew ending up dead trying to track it down. Captain did have some interest but there was much more entertaining adventures to go on at the time then tracking down some possible powerful artifact. As Edward charts the ruins area where he thinks the sols tone and charts a safe passage he warns the group of cultists of devils and practitioners of dark magic like to roam the area. He gets excited gets to track a magical artifact and do battle against wicked villains. Finding the sol stone would a fun adventure, he was strong enough not to end up like those pirates his captain talked about.

Sarris passed the book she had over to Edward to look at. She did not wish to say that she could not read the non-elvish writing. Heck, it could say. The Sol Stone is located on the third bookshelf in the master bedroom and she would not know.
“What do you make of this?” she reads the Old Elvish to the pair of them hoping they will read the rest and pass on any information they gained.
“I am hoping we can trick our way past the cultists,” she said. “If we find a Sol Stone and the word gets out others will come look for it from us,” she said. “I would much rather have them searching the ruins looking for it than visiting me while I was sleeping,” she added while looking at the two. Cultists had such determination to die trying to do things. She sighed.

Edward takes the book and compares the content to his own notes. He looks occasionally looks away from the book and writes something down. After 30 minutes or so, Edward looks up and addresses the both of them. “I see. Well, your book seems to also tell tales of a secret magical vault that contains the king’s most valuable treasures. The book also reveals a secret passage straight into the castle without being seen. I had to decode a special cipher to get that information. So, should we leave at dawn tomorrow or should we gather more supplies for our journey?”

Sarris looked at them and gave a weak smile, “I am sure you boys will get your chance to fight them.”
The cultists had a way of showing up where you did not want them and hear things you did not want them to know. A barmaid or tender might be a member and pass on information. This was the nature of these organizations.
“Get what supplies you will want and will will leave in the morning,”:she said loud enough that listeners could hear. A few shop keepers headed for the door and a maid headed for the kitchen.
When cultists were involved Sarris trusted very few.

Edward looks at Sarris, trying to understand her words, then picks up on the subtleties of her words. Edward nods and stands up to go his room, “Very well then, I’ll go up to my room.” He goes up to his room and organizes his stuff to pack. Then he heads out into town to by some adventuring supplies, like tents and climbing kits so that they can be prepared. He picks up some rations for the next several days and grabs food for the road for all of them. He passes out the rations and supplies to Sarris and Javal when he visits them in there rooms.

Javal sits alone his room setting his katana next to the wall he sits down on his bed. He takes his red coat and then lays down and covers himself with his coat as blanket to get some quick shut eye. He then was awoken by the sound of knocking at his door and rushes to get up. He says, "who goes there". He hears back, "Hello there Sir Javal, I am a merchant and was hoping you would come outside to a look at my wares before you go adventuring tomorrow". He opens the door slightly to get a good look at him he appeared as a young looking brown haired elf. "Sorry mister I'm already stocked up for tomorrow thanks for worrying about me though". "Ah no worries my friend I'm glad you're prepared for the troubles around here, you know I hear that adventures around these parts who aren't prepared end up dead". As the merchant walked away Javal sees the merchant has a snake ring on his hand. He then hears a knock at the door and hears the voices of his companions Sir Sarrias and Sir Edward.

Sarris headed for her room to get her things ready. It did not take long as she traveled fairly light. She stopped at Sir Edward’s room and knocked. She noticed the man knocking on Jamal’s room and gave him a little smile. Speaking from the hall, she called to the knight,”Sir Edward? I was going to go pray at the temple? Oh the maid said, we will have fresh bread and fresh bacon n the morning.”
Sarris had no intention of being there in the morning, but it was a good distraction.
“I think Master Javal would watch our gear while we went.” She added. “I will wait for you outside,” she said.
Sarris walked down the stairs and out of the building. She took her broom and started sweeping the sidewalk by the door waiting. From behind the inn came the maid carrying Sarris’ book and gave it to the merchant who drove off in his wagon, She headed back in the inn and bounded up the stairs to fine Javal and Edward she reported, “They stole my book!”

Edward was just tiding his things again to make sure everything is in its right place when he heard a loud stomping of boots coming up the stair. Curious about who was causing a commotion, he sticks his head out and sees Sarris. He heard her say, “They stole my book!” and Edward rushes out of the room to ask Sarris who took it. After hearing the description of the maid and the merchant’s wagon, Edward runs downstairs to see if he could find the wagon. He sees it off in the distance and chases after it. When he is close enough to yell, he shouts, “Stop the wagon. You took my friend’s book.” In response, an arrow shoots out of the wagon and hits Edward in the shoulder, forcing him to stop chasing after the wagon.

Javal was awoken for the second time that day, this time by yelling down the stairs outside his door. He gets up quickly no time to put his coat on just in his orange vest and grabs his katana and runs out of his room. He finally hears what's going on he hears Sarris yelling they stole my book. "Damn that damn merchant" Javal thinks. He sprints as fast as he can following close by Edward. Soon they both catch up to the Thief's Wagon not before Javal sees Edward get shot by and fall back. He tries to parry some arrows with his katana in one hand but he is hoot twice one in the shoulder and one in the foot. He stills pushes forward past the pain and with his free hand points at the wagon and a large cloud above it appears raining a flurry of snow. This is enough for the merchant in the wagon to swerve around and crash into a tree.

Sarne had been tracking his cousin Sarris for weeks now. When she took the book from his Grandfather's library his family was not pleased with her. But Sarne after convinces them that Sarris did it for a good reason. This was not like his cousin taking something from the family. Sarne had no reason why she would.
Sarne with one of his men a Dwarf called Norgic had been watching her in the descents. Then he saw a wagon moving fast from the Inn. The two men looked kinda shady. Then a man ran out from the Inn and yelling Stop that wagon. One of the men on the wagon put a book down and pulled out a bow and started to fire at the men at the Inn.
Sarne and Norgic felt a freezing wind blow by and ice starts to build on the high grass and the ground. The horses were spooked by the wind and turned and the wagon hit a ditch and overturned. The two men jump and landed on the ground Sarne saw the book closer now and realized it was his Grandfathers book. "Norgic, The book, get it!" ordered Sarne in a loud voice. Norgic ran forward standing over the book with a large axe in his hands.
Sarne rushed forward with his sword and his parrying dagger At the ready. As the man with the bow brought it up to shoot Sarne. Swinging his sword from the high position Sarne came down with a heavy strike. Sarne's sword cut threw the man's bow and halfway into the man's chest. The man screamed and fell gurgling in his blood.
Norgic grunted and raised his axe as Sarne raised his sword. "Yield now!" ordered Sarne. The other man pulled out a vial and drank it. The man instantly started to foam at the mouth and fell to the ground dying instantly. "Great, Poison" remarked Sarne walking up to the other man.

Sarris had managed to capture the maid. It was not hard to do, a little direct motivation was all it needed. Mainly a knife point in the small of the back and a hand in her hair pulling slightly backwards.
The backstairs brought them up to the second floor hallway and back to Sarris’ room. When got to the room the girl tried to make a break for it. Spinning away from the knife. Sarris countered by pulling her hair towards the floor and bringing a knee up connecting with her hip causing her to crumple.
Sitting on top of her, Sarris gave a partial search with her kicking and screaming. A man came up the stairs to see Sarris sitting on the girl waiting. “She stole stuff from my room,” Sarris said smiling politely. “I am waiting for the authorities to come, a friend ran to fetch the guard,” she said towards the man. If I have to make confession for each of my lies, I will never die, she thought.
As her partners returned wounded, Sarris shook her head at them. “You are suppose to avoid the arrows,” she said to them with a little humor. “The good news is I can heal you,” she said.
“Look what I caught for your entertainment though,” she said as another two sets of footfalls made the landing. It ended up being Sarne and Norgic. “I can explain” started to come out of her mouth till she saw the book in Nordic’s hands. “Bulls Tits,” she said waiting for the group to aid her stuffing the maid in her room to be questioned and her partners healed.

Grunting in pain, Edward finally pulls the arrow from his shoulder after a few attempts. After getting it out, a glyph of light forms in the middle of his palm and he presses it against the wound on his shoulder. The wound slowly heals and he runs towards the wagon, noticing that two people, a half-elf man and a dwarf, have stopped the wagon and are currently killing the two bastards who took Sarris’s book. Then he hears the man yells at the dwarf to take Sarris’s book. Edward goes up to the two of them, “Excuse me, gentlemen. I’m afraid that my friend’s book has been stolen by these two that you have just taken out. May you please give it to me so I may return it to her?” He breathes very heavily as he holds his hand up as to reach for the book.
