The time had arrived for the Black Harvest to begin where people rushed to get food and crops ready for the winter time. However, with so many goings on with Scern escaping, Vulcadreus, and now even an entire land of wonder leaking into the realm, it seemed like an afterthought at the time. Now though when time was beginning to run out as winter seemed to be right around the corner everyone was scrambling for people to help. Nieven being a gracious and kind person decided to accept the call to action and accepted Frost Gale’s call. They asked him personally to help with crops, making sure they got back to the city’s edge where a storage building that had all their food for the winter was. It seemed easy enough they even gave him a few notes about picking up crops that popped up in the area, kale, carrots, beets, and lettuce.

Why it seemed almost too easy for someone of his magnitude however no matter how small the job Nieven would do it. It was to help those in need but also more importantly it would do his reputation wonders. Though, doing this all by himself seemed quite boring so he decided to invite his cousin along.

Sending him a letter via his pet Songbird Griffin it read as follows,

“Hello there dear cousin Song,

Yes, indeed your eyes have not fooled you you have been blessed with another one of my correspondences. However this time instead of regaling you with another one of my dazzling exploits I figured perhaps you can witness my true power and grace. Considering you are a chronicler it would be important for you to write about how I am going to save an entire city in desperate need of food. Meet me at the edge of the Coldwood so you may witness history. Worry not as well for I am more than capable of protecting both of us with my great strength and magic.

After receiving a letter back Nieven would quickly make haste towards the Coldwood excited for an adventure with his cousin as well as to show the world how great he was.

Description: The Black Harvest is upon us, the time of year where the crops are harvested and families prepare for Winter's Crown. The recent events in Charon has made it hard to dedicate time and people to the harvest, as many are still recovering from the events in King's Valley. Local cities are asking for outside help to come in and help collect the harvest. This includes harvesting the crop, cleaning up debris and helping move it to a safe storage facility. While the task may seem easy, pesky creatures may have claimed the crop as home and may be a tad grumpy to find you disturbing them.

The Songbird Griffin felt like an old friend, gliding in harmony with the familiar breeze that carried their visitor close. The wind, playful and loyal, lent its strength beneath those graceful wings, lifting the creature in sweeping arcs as if they danced together. The air hummed in harmony, as if echoing a quiet welcome, wrapping the Griffin and its rider in the warmth of shared memory and kinship--a reunion orchestrated by the elements themselves.

Song's handwriting is gentle, with ink that dances on the page where each letter is beautifully printed, years of practice gently proving their worth in the care the paper received.

May the winds carry your spirit with ease, and the earth beneath you offer steady ground, my dear cousin Nieven,

With the gentle turning of leaves under autumn’s breath, I write to you. I must say, your words arrive like a whirlwind, leaving no doubt as to your excitement. To witness your renowned power and, as you suggest, to record such a feat in the chronicles, would indeed be an honour. I imagine the city in question shall have much to say about their saviour, for whom even I--mere chronicler that I am--shall surely struggle to do justice.

You’ll find me on the edge of the Coldwood, as you requested, prepared to record this momentous chapter. Worry not, dear cousin, for I know you to be more than capable of warding off any stray dangers we may encounter.

Until we meet again beneath the watchful eye of the old stars and the earth’s gentle embrace, know that the wind carries my thoughts to you.

As the letter reaches Nieven, the wind will brush against him softly like a greeting as his Songbird Griffin descends in a sweeping arc, its wings catching the air in a graceful swoon, each feather gliding in harmony with the gentle breeze that heralds his arrival.

The wind-blessed wasted no time making his way toward Coldwood, using a map of his own making as his guide. It seemed a fortunate twist of fate that he wasn’t far when word from Nieven reached him. A friendly face, certainly, but Song knew better than to leave it at that. Their greeting would require more, many more, adjectives to meet his cousin’s expectations. Yet, for all the flair, each one was well-deserved.

The sun set twice before Song was informed he'd reached the lands where he was expected. After thanking the driver and settling the fare, he turned his gaze toward the horizon, taking in the expanse before him. He surveyed the area thoughtfully, searching for a place that would suit their meeting, a spot where the winds might carry their words with ease when his cousin arrived.

A single glance around the area unsettled Song, though he couldn't quite place why. The air felt heavy, as if something was off... its weight, the way it moved, even the scent that lingered seemed wrong. Something was out of tune with the wind, and it tugged at him, like a forgotten note in a familiar melody.

Nieven was dressed in the proper clothing for a Frost Gale adventure, his white and light blue cold robes adorned with a dark blue cloak. He was prepared and ready for whatever cold and freezing temperatures that the Coldwood would bring in stylish fashion. Sitting in a carriage he would hire to take him, the sylvan elf drummed his fingers on his knees bored of the long journey. It had required a day and a half of traveling to get here and all that he was able to do in the meantime was simply think of how he was going to spin this perilous adventure to his legend.

Arriving right at the edge of the coldwood Nieven would leave a large bag of solars and hop out of the vehicle.

“Thank you Ta ta now” he would say dismissing the driver as he covered his fabulous orange hair with the cloak’s hood. To his surprise, his cousin was already there just standing idly by as the wind blew through his hair. He walked through the snow and called out, “Why if it isn’t Song my most dearest favorite cousin”, he would then give his kinsman a polite and respectful bow.

“Well, how are you doing? Great now that I’m here surely. Though I hope I didn’t make you wait too long, you know how traveling can be. No matter how much you pay someone you can never make time go any slower. So are you ready to experience what most likely will be the greatest day of your life Song?”, the sylvan elf would ask with his trademark snobbish grin.
