Nieven reaches an impressive height of five feet and eleven inches although he claims to be six feet and above, that is a lie. He has fair skin and a toned-lean build, the sylvan elf takes great pride in keeping his body in excellent condition. His blue-colored eyes shine bright and his handsome face is adorned with freckles. Being that Nieven is part Sylvan Elf his eye and hair color changes with the season, Brunette and Green-Eyed=Spring, Blonde and Blue-Eyed=Summer, Ginger and Brown Eyed=Fall, White and Grey Eyed=Winter. His luxurious hair reaches his mid-back and is crowned by a wreath of fresh green leaves. He has been spotted sporting a white tunic made out of the most expensive elven silk which he has opened to show off his chest and abs. His gray-pressed trousers are adorned by gold stitching on the sides that is supported by a golden belt buckle. His gorgeous outfit is topped off by a pair of red dress shoes and several pieces of shiny and expensive jewelry located on his wrists, fingers, and ears.

Personality:

If someone were to meet Nieven for the first time and describe him in a single word it would be narcissistic. He is extremely self-centered and vain, constantly putting himself above anyone else at any given time. Being raised in a pampered and glamorous lifestyle has left him with a feeling of entitlement and pompousness that even his time with the Black Dragon Pirates couldn’t get rid of. He is very overconfident in his abilities and oftentimes this results in him taking on more than he can handle. Nieven can usually be seen looking at himself in the mirror looking to fix any imperfections or just enjoying the view of himself. Despite his tough and blinding exterior underneath he is a gentle and compassionate person. Coming from a noble family he has the thought that he must look after the needs of the poor and underprivileged. The Sylvan Elf cares deeply for the world he is in and although it may be hard for him to show that he wants everyone to be happy and well.

History:

Early Life

Nieven Castiel Oakenthorn was born into the Crescent Isles in the upper echelons of society. His family was a very wealthy and well-connected noble house led by his father Loreal Theodin Oakenthorn. Nieven was born the fourth child of Loreal and his wife, a former earth shaman genasi woman named Amethyst Stonemantle Nieven led a somewhat tumultuous life. Amethyst grew very ill after Nieven’s birth, having to be bed-bound and rarely able to walk around the house. His mother would tell him wondrous stories of her people and of his father who she said used to be a wild and rebellious spirit. In Nieven's eyes, his father was a cold and distant man who spent more time at his family’s various businesses or in his office than with his family. The only time Loreal ever paid attention to Nieven was to scold or diminish him, comparing him to his older siblings who were much more active and gifted than he was. Being born the youngest of the four he already knew that he was going to be a supporting member of his family destined for mediocrity and subservience to his older siblings. His older siblings brothers Rolan and Tristan and sister Estella were magically talented and excelled in their studies and training. Tristan and Rolan would often bully Nieven and the older three were often treated to more time with their father and praised. Loreal was a gifted mage who could manipulate lightning magic and so Nieven being born with a connection with Sky Domain yet only being able to manipulate wind caused him much ire and resentment. Placed as a tool and trophy for his family, his childhood was lonely only having the company of his butler, maid, and occasionally his mother and sister. The young Sylvan Elf was training with great pressure to follow his sibling's lead in the fields of fencing, horseback riding, combat, leadership, politics, and general education about the world. Nieven could never quite reach his father’s expectations excelling much more in the fields of ballet, tactics, and business but being the fourth-born son he would never be allowed in those conversations. Once Nieven reached the age of fourteen he was ordered to apprentice under a great seafaring marine to expand the family’s business and gain a connection to sea travel. Under normal circumstances, he would’ve just joined the boring government-sponsored ship as a cabin boy and had a relatively boring teenage experience. However, during the day, he was supposed to depart on the government ship accompanied by only his mother and butler; a last-minute decision would change the course of his life.

Smooth Sailing

Right next to the marine ship was a rowdy disgraceful pirate ship who’s festivities split over to the port. Nieven would go right up to the ship’s captain and scold him about his lack of manners. To which the pirate captain simply chuckled heartily and apologized sincerely, about the sincerity of the man making a good impression on Nieven’s mother Amethyst. After seeing such jovialness and being the wise person she nudged Nieven to board this ship instead. After some talking from Nieven’s mother and irritation at begging to join the marine crew from Nieven it was done. The boy would be placed under Captain Wilford Wyther’s care and work as an apprentice pirate under the Black Dragon Pirates flag. It wasn’t a pretty sight as Amethyst left hugging her son and waving him goodbye as Nieven cried his eyes out begging not to go with these scoundrels. During the first couple of months, Nieven hated it there and pleaded with Wilford to send him back using the name of his father to threaten the crew with arrest. Eventually, the Sylvan Elf’s inconsolable temper would calm down, and grow to accept being a part of his makeshift family of pirates. He grew to call his fellow apprentice pirates brothers and saw Wilford as the father he always wished he had even if he would never admit it out loud. Eventually, after some great years at sea, the crew would make one final stop back at Thorock. They’d drop off all the young pirates who were raised there and Wilford would give his last orders, to live good lives and be happy. With that, the crew would set sail to a mysterious destination never to be seen again. Nieven respected the captain’s decision and although in a complete terrible sadness at first, he was happy to have sailed with the crew. After a few months and eventually discovering the crew’s giant ship annihilated, Nieven took the loss the hardest.

Current Adventures

Nieven would take some time to let himself mourn his found family and after a month or so he returned home. He came to the Oakenthorn estate expecting a grand and giant welcome home only to find his sister and mother the only ones waiting for him outside. After celebrating with them and catching back up with each other the prodigal son would head to his father’s office where his sister told him he was. He entered wanting to regale his father with his adventurers and question him about his earlier absence. Even colder and more distant than before Loreal simply yawned and gave his son a sarcastic welcome. Nieven grew frustrated and began arguing with his father leading Loreal to reveal that he hated Nieven for getting his wife sick, being a disappointment, and hitting him with the deepest cut, that he wished that Nieven died at sea with that ridiculous disgrace of a pirate. It was at that moment that set Nieven off, as he pulled back and gave him a punch to his jaw causing him to fall over. He would leave the estate with his father barking as he left about how he was banished from the family and would never reach any substantial heights. Nieven set out with immense motivation to become better than his father and siblings in every single way while continuing to honor his former captain’s memory. He was going to shine even brighter than everyone else so much so that no one could ever ignore him and dismiss his greatness. Now making his proper debut in Charon Nieven is determined to make his name go down in history and show everyone his radiance and grace.

Loreal Oakenthorn is Nieven's sylvan elf father a cold and distant man who runs the Oakenthorn noble house with an iron fist. In his youngers he was said to be an adventurous free spirit who loved having fun but after many years he was forced into returning to the family's leadership. Where in he was molded and made into the rule orientated and detached man he is today. His main business is trading high value weapons and artifacts that his company finds to the highest bidder. Alongside various other ventures he is involved in. He is a powerful mage with a deep connection to the sky domain known for his deadly and precise lightning attacks.

Rolan Finral Oakenthorn

Rolan is Nieven's oldest brother and the pride and joy of Loreal, he is a skilled and talented person. Growing up he was often taken with Loreal to study and observe meetings between lords so he would be ready to become the head of Oakenthorn house. He works as a politician in Starlight City pushing many ideas and propositions that benefit the upper echelons of society. All he cares about is keeping the Isles where they are now so it can benefit his family. He is a gifted tactician and smooth talker often charming his way around his fellow nobles. Rolan has a connection to the earth domain having mastered and excelled in fire and earth magic. He can blast targets with flames and create innovative creations from the earth.

Tristan Adalmann   Oakenthorn

Tristan is Nieven's second older brother but not any less cruel than Rolan or Loreal, even more so. During childhood, it was Tristan who was the hardest on Nieven, often beating him in fights and going way too far. Being the second son of the family he concentrated his efforts in the Crescent Isles military, swearing to protect and guard his family's home and good standing. He has risen in the ranks becoming a high-ranking commander who often gets the chance to come home to his family. Tristan excels in physical aptitude dominating his opponents with a barrage of quick pace blows. He is a master of the sea domain able to manipulate water and shape ice into sharp weapons.
