It’s Summer Festival time in Charon, and that means that people are going to go about merry celebrations despite everything else going on around the world. While Perrath did enjoy his time with the dragoness Einheria last year, this time around, she and others that Perrath would deign to spend time with are nowhere around, so here the grumpy dragon is slinking through the shadows of Eclipse City where he huffs and puffs in annoyance. What is wrong with society, he wonders? To be celebrating when they could be at war or something more fun – at least in his opinion. This crowd is making it incredibly difficult to make a delivery, too. Wandering the streets turned to wandering alleys – not that he minds the shadows, but it is inconvenient to find a business from the backside. As he walks, a flier sticks to the bottom of his clawed foot, and much like a cat, he shakes it off with obvious annoyance. These nuisances are everywhere! In an act of rebellion, Perrath looks at the nearest flier advertising the festival, nailed into a job board, and irritably rips it down. Even if someone saw him, he doesn’t care. What will they do against his might? Unlike other dragons, he does not keep his true form a secret and openly walks around in a draconic form…which unfortunately gets him confused for Draconynh, much to his annoyance.

This sentence was a mere slap on the wrist for Tressel. While he could get jailed for something much worse, he was starting to consider being locked up rather than doing something like community service. He didn't like being forced to work, but it was better than execution or anything of the sort. Who knew that being involved in a pub fight would make him do something as tedious as this? He has posted up 16 flyers under 3 hours, and he can't just place them anywhere. There were designated spots as to where flyers and ads go, and if he were to stick them on different surfaces, well, he'd be quickly taken care of by his parole officer.
Feeling particularly hot from the weather, Tressel took a moment to catch his breath on a sturdy bench, his eyes scanned the perimeter, looking at the posters he's placed before. Huffing proudly, he got up to place more posters until he heard the sound of paper ripping. His head snapped towards the sound. Someone was ruining his work! How dare they take his flyers down! Normally, he'd overlook people tearing down posters or vandalizing establishments, but this time, he couldn't turn a blind eye. His work was gone in an instant!
"Oi! Stop that! That ain't for you to tear down, I just put em' up!"

Hearing the irritated voice of Tressel, Perrath looks over at him with a less than impressed expression. “These fliers are everywhere,” he complains, motioning to the one that he is still struggling to get unstuck from his foot. “Don’t waste your time. There are plenty of people here already. The crown doesn’t need another empty-headed lackey to advertise for them when they have done nothing of note to celebrate.”
Putting his weight on one foot, Perrath finally just lifts the other with the stuck flier and peels it off with his tail.[1] Then he takes the dirty flier in his hand and looks it over with a certain amount of disgust, turning it over before crumpling it in his claws and dropping it to the ground. Admittedly, speaking ill of the crown to a stranger is not exactly the smartest idea in some places, but in Eclipse City, the moon elves who run the place aren’t exactly the biggest fans of the crown either. His opinion holds safe here, and there’s no doubt in his mind that this festival is but a facade to keep the peace.
With a somewhat wiley expression, Perrath challenges Tressel. "Are you a pawn or do you think for yourself?"

"Save yer views for someone who wants to indulge ya! This poster job ain't related to how I think of the monarchy or society or whatnot. Keep yer brooding to yerself ya big bully!" Tressel has taken down foes as big as Perrath, some even bigger. But taking down people his size didn't mean that he was going to come out unscathed. As much as possible, he didn't want to fight the dragonborn. Causing a public disturbance wasn't a good look on him, he was definitely going to get lashes for disrupting the peace at a public place.
"I'm just doin' my service just to get outta here. Whatever beef ya got with the kingdom, leave me put of it. I ain't even from here. At least dispose of that flyer properly once yer done tearing it to shreds." Rumbling and scrapping with someone wasn't his ideal way of spending his afternoon, it would be unwise to push forward with a fight considering his situation. But then again, this was more entertaining than that of his work with posters. He had to agree though. The locals would know about the festival even without the posters. Was it to bring in more foreigners to celebrate? Show off the kingdom's very large budget to display their wealth? Rich people had weird hobbies.

This finicky man has the gall to speak to Perrath in that manner? Can he see him? The dragon can’t help pausing to blink, at first in surprise and then in amusement. A wry smirk pulls at the edge of his mouth. A bold one indeed. Rather than be angry with the goading, Perrath lets tension out of his shoulders and looks at him.
“Rather bold, aren’t you?” he says, eyeing the man up and down. Based on what he’s saying, this is just a chore for him. Neither of them seem much in the mood for a fight in the middle of the streets. That would interfere with Perrath’s delivery job and likely this man’s poster job. Perrath glances at the small stack of posters Tressel still has, and an idea sparks in his mind. Maybe they can help each other.
“My apologies,” he says, placing his hand across his chest and inclining his head remorsefully. “The common folk don’t deserve my ire. You have a job, and I have interfered in it. Tell me, do you need to be rid of those posters? I might have someone who can take them off your hands.”

"Heh, if I wanted to get rid of these posters, I'd do it in a way that would convince that parole officer that I posted it all up. Of course that ain't possible unless ya got some fancy trick up your sleeve that would make him think that I actually did my job." Tressel ran a hand through his auburn tresses, keeping his bangs from obscuring his vision. "But tell me, how can you help a measly paperboy such as me?" He says in a voice that hinted slight sarcasm.
Tressel was still a bit heated up from being disturbed by Perrath, but maybe he can overlook it just once if this plan of his comes full circle. Tressel rolls the posters up in a neat cylinder and keeps it secure by tying some packing twine around it. This was honestly a more portable way of holding posters, he hated to admit it, but even skilled hands such as his gets tired from being wasted on a job he didn't want to do.
"M'name's Tressel by the way, Tressel Heryd. If we're gonna be workin' with each other, might as well know each other's names b'fore anythin'. What's yer name?"

Somehow, the more Tressel speaks, the more Perrath finds himself amused by him and his attitude. They could get along finely if they both see jobs in the same sort of light: as a task that has to be completed, not because they want to actually complete it, but because they are obligated to. “Something tells me you aren’t just a simple paperboy,” Perrath says simply, feigning a disaffected shrug.
He watches with some interest as Tressel bundles the papers up and secures them. “My name is Perrath. I am a paladin of the goddess Lunala. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Tressel. Now, as far as helping each other out, I have a small delivery to make for a local business owner. Depending on the conditions of “completing” your job, I suspect that along with my delivery, we could drop these posters off with him. So tell me, do you need evidence of the posters being hung or do you simply need to be rid of them?”
The dragon is concocting some sort of scheme, it seems. An easy scheme. Enter posing as if to ask for advertisements from the locals then foist it all off on the man behind the counter all at once. Then his delivery is completed and Tressel is free to carry about his business.

"This ain't a job I'd choose personally. I wouldn't be doin' this if I didn't get into an altercation the other day." He says, rubbing the back of his nape. "Paladin eh?" Tressel mutters to himself, eyeing Perrath up an down. He definitely has the looks of one, but he has yet to see what skills this one has. The goddess Lunala wasn't someone that Tressel knew of on a deep level, but he has heard of her name in various scripts. "I think the best sort of evidence would be havin' people attend the festival and enjoy its festivities. If only there were a hundred of me doin' the enjoyin' for everyone, but then again, a hundred of mes will just cause unwarranted trouble here n' there."
Tressel lifts his chin, moving his head side to side to try and spot his parole officer around the area. It seems that the officer was distracted by the likes of the local tavern workers tempting him to come in and have a few drinks. "The old bastard's distracted. I can't even make a run for it because I'm magically bound to him right now." The thief lifts his leg, displaying the cuff on his ankle that has been sealed with light magic.

“Ah, so less of a job and more of community service as a punishment…” Perrath says, nodding slightly in understanding. All the more reason for Tressel to want to be done with it sooner, at least in Perrath’s mind. “Hm. That result isn’t on your performance entirely though. This is a group effort. Which… could be made easier by a hundred of you, though I doubt even I would want that many of myself around.”
Admittedly, as a paladin of Lunala, Perrath wishes very little to attend the festival put on by the self-righteous sun elves, but at least the sentiment in Eclipse City seems to be less focused on the crown and more on the festivities. That’s well enough, he supposed. Admittedly, he did have fun at the last festival he attended, but being in the presence of Miss Einheria made that easy.
Wait, a shackle? Perrath pauses and looks at the cuff on Tressel’s leg. Well, that won’t do. Getting Tressel out of the shackle would be easy enough, but he suspects that will backfire on both of them, and the dragon really doesn’t need anymore attention. “In that case, allow me to assist with ridding you of your stack to get you out of your punishment sooner. An apology for my brutish first impression. Unless you’d like me to free you from that, which I could do instead.”
Perrath holds out his hand with the intention of taking whatever Tressel will give him, but if the thief wants the latter option, he will happily move forward with that little plan.
