The truth was that Aledüne just had played a song with several moral dilemmas, and the point was just to get Videl to start thinking about where he was going. Aledüne didn't know the young man enough to give him advice, but he always made sure to appear to know what he was talking about. Not that his advice wasn't sound, but in reality it was often easier to make or manipulate someone into thinking of the answers themselves while giving him credit for it. And in a way he was still helping them figure things out.
"Seems you have begun thinking like an adult. And it seems you have your answer, and the means..." He points to the water puddle on the ground where the man had slipped previously. "...to manage from here. Solitude is often just the result when you are too afraid to get close to people. And so the answer to your problems should be easy to figure out from here on out." He gives Videl a bow and puts the Lute away.
"And with that I will leave you to grow. By the time you see me again, I hope you have grown enough so that you are capable of stopping me from taking any more tongues." He smiles warmly again.
"Remember, we are all alone in the end, but how you choose to live between now and then is in your hands entirely."

To say that this entire encounter had been a rather strange one would be putting it lightly. In the short time that he had known Aledüne, he had bore witness to quite a few things. A nigh-mugging, a power to have someone willingly bite their tongues off, some poetry and jokes, and just overall strange vibes. Honestly, Videl wasn't sure whether he had wanted to willingly remember tonight. Even without that desire there though, he was certain that he would have to. There were many important lessons that he had learned tonight and he would be remiss to forget any of them. "I'm sure that things will be different the next time that we meet one another." With nothing more to say to the man, Videl would turn back towards the countertop and would indulge in the remainder of the drink that had been set for him by the barkeep. After this series of unfortunate events, Videl would silently imbibe the tea and turn back to his thoughts. There was a lot for him to consider before moving onto the next settlement. Things that he would have to consider changing about himself.. And ways in which he would have to attempt to become stronger. [EXIT]
