All of this current fight was so far and away from anything Fish had done before. They were not a hunter and while they were no stranger to killing things, generally they didn't fight big monsters. They certainly didn't fight massive beasts that seemed to not care about being shot.
It was a rare time when Fish was happy to not be working alone. Taki's magic seemed to be the only thing to keep them in this fight. Fish alone would be like a fly trying to take out a dragon on its own. Which is to say things would be going worse. She at least kept its attention and gave Fish the opportunities they needed to chip away at it.
The aviankin stops a moment seeing the hydra burst forth from where Taki was....interesting. They had no familiarity with that kind of magic and it seemed well beyond what arcanatek is capable of....at least not yet. Fish has to shake their head to shoo away the urge to begin sketching out ideas now.
Fish skids to a stop along the forest floor, finding the same spot they hit with the parasite poison. The wound left behind wasn't what the bird had hoped for, but it would have to do. They level their crossbow again and pull the trigger in rapid succession.[1] Each bolt is tipped with an explosive charge aimed at the wound, crashing into the bear. The concussive force of all the different bolts hitting at the same time takes a small tear and makes into a much more grevious wound.
The bear lurches and crashes into surrounding trees and against the maw of the hydra. It roars and growls, slowly losing strength and energy as it enters its death throes.

She felt the heat from the consecutive bolts exploding, watched with cautious optimism as the magical bear slowed even further. It kept trying to swing but much of the glowing aura it had started the fight with was waning. She dodged a sluggish swipe, coiling two necks out of reach as the lumbering hulk of fur and muscle put itself off balance. Much like a hunting viper, Taki's heads struck the back of it's neck and squeezed with tremendous force. Flesh tore, muscles and joints popped under the pressure of five sets of powerful crushing jaws as held the bear down and put it to it's final rest.
With a soft grunt, the thudding in it's neck went silent. Taki held on a few moments longer before shifting back to normal. Her chest had healed but was still bruised several shades as she steadied herself and knelt next to the bear. She said a prayer in Druidic, calling on her spiritual magic to offer the creature it's Last Rites. She let out an exhausted sigh and sat there in the dirt just staring at the stars for a few moments. Hunts like this were hard, as she knew it needed doing for the good of both forest and people, but it still was a living creature of great power and wisdom.
Guardians at her side, Taki picked herself up and brushed the dirt from her outfit before walking over to Fish.
"Well done, your accuracy is quite astounding. Those are some interesting bolts you use as well, is their effect magical or alchemical in nature?" She asked inquisitively.

"Alchemical and mechanical, the tip of the arrow is attached to a spring, the spring is attached to a mechanism that strikes two pieces of flint together igniting the blackpowder in the chamber...the sudden pressure increase causes the explosion."
Fish pauses in their explanation taking a moment before taking out a glass jar from their bag. The opening of the jar is pressed against the bear's nose, the insides steaming up as the last few breaths escape the beast. The aviankin quickly covers the top and puts a stopper and lid of it.
They watch curiously as the air seems to condense a bit, the strange magic of the ur-beast giving its breath uncharacteristic properties. Interesting...Fish tilts their head as they watch it. It was like having a little fog cloud in a jar. This was what Fish was after....other parts were certainly valuable, but this is what was so special about an ur-beast.
The jar is tucked into their bag as they look up to Taki, "Fish is appreciative of the assistance. Large monsters is not something Fish is equipped for, Fish would not have been able to collect this without help."

"Of course, should you find yourself in such a situation again, feel free to seek me out. While not my favorite task, I'd rather see such a beast have a fitting end and not have to suffer needlessly. I wish you luck in your future endeavors, and I hope your creations become valuable business opportunities. Have a safe trip home Fish." The shaman replied, calling Kamina to her side.
Taki's form changed once again, becoming a Snow Owl who took off into the sky with her Pixie companion following. The pair climbed in gentle spirals for a few minutes before turning south and somewhat west to head for home. The pair sailed through the night sky quietly, enjoying the stars and watching life as they sailed home on the currents of air. Taki was relieved that she hadn't taken worse injuries, and that the Hydra's regeneration had been sufficient to heal the worst of the damage.
The pair arrived at home a few hours later, as the first dim hues of day were starting to creep across the sky. Exhausted, Kamina fell into bed right away, while Taki unpacked her gear and put it away. After she was done, she took a quick check of her home and let her companions know she was back. She lay down a short while later after a simple meal and drifted off to sleep, glad that no more harm would come to folks and she could give such a creature a worthwhile fight.
